My dream for the election is that itâs definitive. I want a 2012-style Election Day where everyone built it up beforehand to possibly be close but then the results start rolling in and it was like âOh, nevermind. Itâs obviously Obama. Everyone go to bed.â
I just want voters to put a stake right through the heart of Trumpism so that it crumbles to ash before our eyes. Thatâs the dream.

hey tumblr user,
there's lotsa posts on this site.
that's a lot of information, and a lot of words.
I recommend taking a deep breath if you haven't done one in a bit. this place can get overstimulating sometimes.
that's not to say you should feel bad or guilty for scrolling on here, just that breathing is nice. please take good care of yourself

one of the saddest things is when someone in your family tells you you would've loved someone who died before you were born. like my mother has told me & my best friend that we would have loved talking to her father. that me & my brothers have the same humor as our late uncle & even look like him. everyone is everywhere & nowhere & here & gone & dying & coming back. it's as though you know them through their shadow or their ghost or your own actions, but you won't ever really know. haunts me, i guess

I think theyâre underreporting the sheer amount of damage Helene has caused. Entire towns are gone. 50 confirmed deaths already. Down power lines everywhere. Emergency responders are swamped. Stoplights are out. Thereâs a down live power line at the bottom of my momâs mountain and the sheriff is like âyeah, I know. we called the power company and theyâre not going shit.â

the commodification of friendship is the most annoying thing to come out of the internet in ages. like actually i love to break this to you but you're supposed to help your friends move even if it's hard work. or stay up with them when they're sad even if you're gonna lose sleep. you're supposed to listen to their fears and sorrows even if it means your own mind takes on a little bit of that weight. that's how you know that you care. they will drive you to the airport and then you will make them soup when they're sick. you're supposed to make small sacrifices for them and they are supposed to do that for you. and there's actually gonna be rough patches for both of you where the balance will be uneven and you will still be friends and it will not be unhealthy and they will not be abusive. life is not meant to be an endless prioritization of our own comfort if it was we would literally never get anywhere ever. jesus.

i get so annoyed when people say âdonât crack the spine! donât put it at the bottom of your bag!â
when itâs a special edition, or a signed or rare book, i get it. but when it comes to just regular books, it just baffles me.
i believe, that if a piece of writing has moved you so much that you feel the need to write inside of it, whatâs wrong with that!
crack the spine! dog-ear the pages! write in the margins! and leave notes on the chapter breaks! donât be afraid to get coffee stains or dirt on your book, and let it be curved by being shoved in your back pocket, because one day- 60 years down the line, someone is going to be picking that book off the shelf in the thrift store and realize that this book was owned by someone who loved this book before them, and they were a real person that was moved just like they are!!!!

Make sure you say "I wonder what they're doing right now..." about your comic relief friends every now and then so the episode can cut to their B plot
