A Story of Difference and Change
18 posts
Hello All, I am a simple college student studying Theatre. All my life I enjoyed art simply for the purpose of enjoyment, rather than seeing the deeper meaning and messages hidden within. In my last few years, my life has been transformed and my eyes have been opened to Art actually reflecting a social or political issue. This blog is my attempt open your eyes to the messages hidden behind the initial walls of art. Hopefully, I will be able to impact someone the way my professors have done to me. So enjoy I guess, or not... Im a mild Anarchist, so I'm going to leave the choice to you.

Jarek Puczel born 1965 is a Polish contemporary artist who received his MA from the University of Warsaw in 1990. He approaches his work with the idea that life is a movie or a game of illusion and the world is a playground where different realities play with one another. Puczel catches the calmness of apparently simple and unspectacular situations with an impressive modesty and apparent ease. He creates an interesting and tense moment, which we can neither escape nor interpret appropriately. Artist lives in Olsztyn, Poland.

80 DAYS ago, I might have said, “This photo is dope, cause I love blue.” Now I know, this piece is a representation of how people and our environment react when a natural disaster strikes.

Beautiful
I appreciate true beauty, beauty can come in the form of a dancers movements, the way a sculptors work becomes perfectly round, or the emotion in the eyes of a subject being photographed. I truly believe, there is no ugly in the world and everything or one is beautiful in their own way.

Fine Art
Yes, my chosen form of Art is Theatre, but that doesn't mean my messages don't apply to every other discipline. In my attempt to become a more learned man, I am constantly checking out artists and seeing the description behind their work. This includes, painters, photographers, sculptors, dancers, and many other distinct disciplines.

80 DAYS
If you had asked me 80 Days ago, “What is your definition of success?” I would have told you, “I want to inspire people, my biggest accomplishment would be making someone happy through art because when I was down, art was always there for me.”
Today, although art was always the thing that kept me going when I was younger, I think my idea of success is taking art and putting meaning behind it. I have been lucky enough to be blessed with the opportunity to create art that has a deeper meaning than a few laughs and smiles. You bet your ass I am going to be putting it to use.

Anger
My biggest hope from any form of Fine Art I produce, is that I can anger some people. By making a patron angry, you're opening them up to realizing the issue you're trying to convey. Hopefully, the idea will resonate with them long after viewing your work so they can make a change even on a small scale.

Forgotten TRENDS
Supposing you have read my previous post, I want you to also keep in my the word “Success”. Seven letters combine to form a word that is interpreted differently to every human on this planet. To some, success is making profit and appeasing everyone. To some, success is about nothing but conveying your message through the art, and possibly angering people. In order for you to really view yourself, you need to know how you define success.
