Michael Myers (Any Michael will work)

Michael never really questioned the Lage metal pole you had in the middle of your room because he thought it was to support the house. Listen he's been in that sanitarium for a while so the outside world is a little confusing for him after all these years-

However, once he walks in on you pole dancing his mind is immediately in the gutter and he begins to get rather suspicious of the so called 'office' you work at.

You're definitely going to have to explain to him that you specifically use the pole for fitness as well as your acro routine.

He's still gonna break into your work to make sure due to him being raised in a time where that was completely unheard of, but after that he won't bother you about it.

Jason Voorhees

You had brought your pole with you when you had moved in with him and had set it up while he was out checking his traps.

He was quite surprised to come back home and see you pole dancing, and the best part is that he doesn't see at as sexual in any way, shape,or form. This is mostly due to him being so young when he had 'died'.

Pamela on the other hand is desperately trying to get him to look away. She's definitely a little iffy about it; however, once you explain it to them she's a little more comfortable with it.

Jason loves to watch you practice! He thinks you looks so graceful while you do tricks on the pole.

There’s another Plume ad going around about informed consent and while I’m not going to get into Plume’s issues seeing as I don’t know much about it (And there are plenty of others who can explain it so much better than I could with my rough knowledge.), but it seems they make use of the alternative Intersex flag by Natalie Phox in this ad and I wanted to make this post to note this:

A) No, this is indeed not an alternate trans flag. B) Please, please, please, do not refer to this flag as “ugly” or “fucked up,” it’s incredibly discomforting.

As an Intersex individual, this is incredibly discomforting and upsetting to be seeing other LGBT+ individuals referring to one of our flags like this. Intersex folks do not receive much representation (Not that it seems Plume was even trying to do this, it seems to be a misuse of it in place of the typical trans flag in this scenario, as they do not mention Intersex individuals at all in this ad.) We primarily have two flags that represent us best, that being the one created by Morgan Carpenter in 2013 of the Intersex Human Rights Australia organization (The one you most commonly see, the yellow flag with the purple circle.) and the one created by Natalie Phox in 2009 that is purple, white, and has a stripe in the center that has pink and blue (Typically fading together, representing the overlap.)

Calling our oldest flag and representation of our pride “ass” and “fucked up” is very harmful. It’s hard for us to be represented as is, but seeing Phox’s flag being described like this is extremely upsetting, and I hope people can see why. Seeing other LGBT+ folks talk about our flag in such a derogatory way is absolutely saddening to me.

I find it extremely interesting that over the past few years, most Classic Slashers have become very, very sympathetic.

With the huge shifts in attitude towards mental health and general disabilities, the way a lot of Slashers were treated- especially in regards to how they became the way they are- has gone from being seen as justified to absolutely fucking horrific cases of ableism and maltreatment.

I find Michael Myers in the original Halloween to be a very poignant example of this. That poor kid was treated like he was the fucking Devil long before the actual mass murder in Haddonfield. If a 6-year-old child randomly kills someone, that’s not the sign of a monster, that’s a kid in desperate need of help and care.

And then Dr. Loomis takes every opportunity he can get to dehumanize Michael. Hell, he invents opportunities to do so! Watching Halloween (1978) in a modern context, the whole picture gets repainted. Dr. Loomis doesn’t seem like the good guy anymore. Michael Myers isn’t the most intolerable, villainous motherfucker in the movie. Dr. Loomis is by virtue of being an ableist dickwad about literally everything.
