I always try to be poetic when describing myself. And though it is easy for me to write a poem about my feelings, I tend to freeze when describing who I am. Yet, I still know I am a confident woman; who knows who I am and in Whom my identity lies. I have dreams that I know will become realities because many of my dreams God has promised me. I want to see the world changed, leave a legacy, get married, have children, publish a book, travel to places I have yet to see, live in a foreign country for a few years, be a missionary... the list goes on and on. I also have many fears but I am learning to hand them over. I am learning to believe that God has not given me a spirit of fear but of power, love and self-discipline (2Timothy 1:7). And that God is love and love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). I enjoy pearls (even the fake ones), polka dots, saddle shoes and classic cars... lighthouses and other nautical things... photography, poetry, music, crafts and reading... serving God and serving others... cooking and baking... using my senses; seeing heart-shaped things everywhere, a beautiful sunset, the smell of orange blossoms, the taste of chocolate covered gummy bears, the feel of sand between my toes (but not anywhere else), the laughter of a child... I enjoy traveling, trying new things and rediscovering old things. I love spending time with family and friends... hugs, kisses and words of affirmation from my nieces and nephew... the feeling of love (whether it is the love I feel for others or from others)... being pursued by my First Love... the feeling of true joy when I choose to obey God, to walk where He leads... being romanced by my Beloved (God).
