“No… Not a water gun.” It’s hard to tell if Seohyun is playing around or if she’s serious. Young woman keeps gazing absentmindedly at the various fitness equipment scattered in their radius. Slowly brown irises come into view, impish smile drawn on female’s thin lips. “A little Springfield wouldn’t hurt.” Expression on her hobae’s face however breaks singer’s act and Joohyun falls into ray of silvery giggles. “I’m kidding- If I were to buy a gun, rest assured it’d fire. Everything serves a purpose, right? If you’ll buy a gun, you’ll have to use it. One day. Mm… Show me that work out routine you told me about.” 

Sojung squints ever so slightly at the older, not quite sure what she’s supposed to believe and what she’s supposed to take with a grain of salt. Joohyun’s actually scaring her, and for some reason, her giggling only adds onto that feeling. She shakes her head a little, crinkling her nose. “Just because you buy something, doesn’t mean you have to use it...” she speaks in a soft tone. “I think you should stick to water guns or nerf guns or something like that... Maybe a marshmallow gun to ambush your friends one day?” She’s rambling, talking more to herself than to her sunbae. She then looks up at Seohyun, mildly concerned with how easy she switches subjects when discussing weapons. It takes her a bit of staring at the older with big eyes until she finally manages to collect herself, skipping off to find some weights as to actually show the other what she’d asked for.

She’s fairly decent friends with the members of Ladies’ Code as one of their departed members used to train with them prior to debut. Since then, the girls of AOA have always supported Ladies Code in all of their activities. Moreover, Jimin doesn’t necessarily keep up with other artists in the industry but a huge exception goes out to her friends so she knows a little bit about the girls. Jimin was proud of hearing Sojung speak up about her condition so she’s still very much concerned to this day even though she needs to take her worries to a two from a ten.

The older female lets out a soft cute giggle upon having her cheek touched. ❝ Yah, that might be true but you have to let me worry over you, ❞ she playfully nags, one hand shielding her chin as she balances an elbow on the table. She’s almost done with her meal and she’s tempted to order another can of coke zero but she doesn’t out of courtesy. She’s got a secret stash of the drink at their quarters anyway. ❝ You must be preparing to comeback if you’re watching your weight, aren’t ya? Ha! I found you out, Sojung-ah! ❞

Sojung nearly chokes on a piece of food as she starts to giggle, eyes rolling just a bit. “You really don’t have to worry about me-- aish, have you been doing anything but worrying about me these past years, huh?” she grins, putting down her chopsticks. “Maybe I should start to worry about you instead, you have responsibilities but if you’re wondering if I’m eating well all the time--” she takes another piece of food, quickly eating it as if to prove her point, “how can you live? Huh~? You should be worrying about your own endeavours rather than mine.”

“Ah, you’ve caught me, unnie~! I’m always preparing for a comeback~. It’s just the element of surprise as to why there’s actually going to be one-- besides, it’ll be my time to shine now~. Galaxy fit Joomi most, The rain fit Ashley most, it’s only natural that now it’s my turn, right~?” She laughs happily, nudging the mostly empty plate away from her. “Do you want me to save an album for you once it’s released, hm?”

K-Idol Archetypes: Send me a name to hear my muse’s thoughts on this type of idol!

Very self explanatory. Questions which may require some background info have been marked with an asterisk (*) simply click the name for further clarification on the question. Read the disclaimer here. 

Leo (VIXX): When does shyness fade into rudeness? Should idols do better to portray a happier image in front of the cameras regardless of their own emotions or should third parties simply stop making fact out of what they believe to be true?

Jisung (NCT): It’s nothing new for idols to be debuting at young ages but just when does young become just too young? Should there be a minimum age idols have to reach before making their debuts?

Jaehyo: Even amongst some of the most popular groups, certain members can be overshadowed by their band-mates and sometimes even labelled ‘unnecessary’ to the group. Is there credence behind this mindset or are all members valuable to a group?

Woohyun: Fanservice is key. Fanservice is life. However when does it all just get a little too OTT? Are idols like these really that dedicated to their fans or is the spiel bordering on insincere showboating?

Hyuna: She’s proven it. Sex sells and it sells well. What do you think about the hyper-sexualisation of idols? 

Daesung: “Jack of all trades. Master of none.” In a world where more and more idols are expected to not only hold but master more than one talent, how do you feel about those who are known for only one particular trait or talent?

Sulli: Public perception of an idol can make or break them. Rarely will an idol invite trouble into their life because let’s face it: it’s not worth it. So what do you think about those that seem to continuously disregard the negativity they receive from the public and remain as controversial as ever?

Alex (BP RANIA): As a largely homogeneous country, South Korea isn’t synonymous with cultural diversity and with celebrities like Yoon Mirae, Jeon Somi and Sam Okyere having spoken of the challenges their different backgrounds have brought them in the country, many were surprised by the addition of Alex to RANIA. Whilst some fans hail the move as a step in the right direction, others believe she’s simply being used as a marketing ploy. What do you think?

Hwayoung (Boys24)*: Idols have time and time again chalked their success up to the loyalty and love of their fans and aren’t afraid to voice their thankfulness any chance they get. But what about the idols that don’t have such nice things to say about the group of people that essentially pay for their chance to make their dreams a reality? 

Jay Park: For all the effort that is put into portraying K-Pop as a (mostly) wholesome industry, mature references exist within songs and concepts more than they do not—however artists are often slammed with baseless restrictions on their creative freedom. Should organisations like MOGEF limit the censorship they place on artists or do you believe the censorship to be necessary?

Ailee: It’s rare for idols to recover from their scandals and gain the ‘forgiveness’ of the public. Why do you think some people do just that whilst others are left to live with the public’s scorn of their past actions?

Hwayoung (Formerly T-ara): As much as we’d like to think of group members as close friends, the reality is often vastly different to the pretty picture we’re sold and fallouts do happen and members may leave their groups. In cases like that, do you think a clean-break from the scandal is the best course of action or should the situation be re-hashed time and time again? Furthermore what do you think about the labelling of either party as one thing or another? Is it fair to paint anyone with a singular image when no-one but those involved know of the true facts?

Here’s the truth: Jimin is concerned. With her, it’s always in extremes: either she doesn’t care at all or cares too much. Here’s a beautiful lady in front of her who looks like they can do without the work out ( and if Jimin would be a bit more pressing, she’d even think that Sojung actually needs to eat more but that could be going out of line ).

When it comes to her relationship with food and diet, Jimin had a huge appetite but her fast metabolism is able to make up for it. Unfortunately, stubborn as she is, she despises working out and doing long periods of physical activity. Maybe it’s different for Sojung so she just pushes her worries aside and nods a few times. ❝ Is it something you like doing? You know there are other ways to keep healthy, not just working out. ❞

Sojung laughs softly at the other’s words as she picks up the piece of food once again, taking her time to eat it before finally getting to a point where she felt it was appropriate to reply to Jimin. Frankly, she understands the other’s concern. It’s not like Jimin doesn’t have any reason to worry about her. After all, Sojung never made it much of a secret that she’s taken it too far in the past. 

“I do like it, yea.” She nods her head, fingers gently tapping on the surface of the table. “I need to work on my condition to be able to perform well on stage, and working out is a fun and healthy way for me to do so. Not everyone’s blessed like you,” she jokes, extending her arm to nudge at Jimins cheek.

📻 [ Random SQ Question time ] What music genre do the mun and muse listen to the most? Any favorite bands?

Sojung tries to keep up with popular music within the country, partially to know what she’s up against, partially because she’s interested, even if she’s still a really big fan of the older groups, too. Just recently she and her two members have done a mini cover of the SNSD song Kissing you. She also has a few American artists she likes, mainly due to Ashley often putting on their music within the dormitory. She thinks Ashley has a good taste. 

As for me, my playlists are all over the place, although I’ve recently been listening to indie rock mostly. But that says absolutely nothing, I go from listening to paramore to miss a to bon jovi to adele and back. I can’t really put a label on it, heh.
