why does any artist have to continuously hit #1? why isn’t an artist/group allowed to put out music and not overthink and overwork themselves? I implore everyone to follow actual small and/or independent artists, it really helps with perspective

Same anon, no I don’t think they will have another hit or Youngblood on their hands. I can’t say for certain- But I don’t see it happening unless they collab with another band like the level of fame chain smokers were at the time when they did “Who do you Love?” But they’re all idiots and collabing with Sierra Deaton and making music videos for songs that will never be popular (ie- Older). They’ll probably have like another 2 Complete Mess level minor hits imo if anything. I totally agree with what you said. They’re trying to survive from the fans they already have like you said, and that’s not a way to be sustainable (also a lot have left lol). The quality of the music is not as good in any capacity as it used to be and there is no promotion on their parts. Their independent album did not do well, and they literally were happy to reach #2 and the album then virtually disappeared from the charts. It flopped so hard. It reached #2 and then fell so low and then like disappeared. There’s 4 of them, I don’t understand how not one of them is taking a stand in regards to who they are collating or what they’re doing- they should be trying to be mainstream popular again ala Youngblood- but they’re just doing, whatever. I legitimately believe if they tried harder, or purposefully got into a scandal (LOL jk but not really), had a real label, collabed with other people, etc. they could at least become more recognized again.

uuuu interesting question, if you want my honest opinion i feel like they are never going to have a big hit like she looks so perfect or youngblood because they are simply not appealing to the general public anymore and the only ones streaming their music are the dedicated fans.

the new album flopped harder than calm and that says a lot about them, i dont think is about them being independent because i know other independent astists that are doing better than them of course not massive numbers like taylor or harry for example but for being independent they are doing great yk but 5sos are doing terrible and it would be understanble if it was their first album but they have been in the industry for more than 10 years and they have an stablished fan base.

with the quality if you want my honest opinion again it was horrible, their "self production" was horrible and their new sound too, i feel they dont know their sound and they keep trying whatever and every time they say they finally found their style and things like that is not true.

lierra: i feel like at this point they try more to convince themselves that they are in a healthy relationship than convince the fans about it and before them getting engaged i had a little hope of them ending their relationship but when they announced it i came to the conclusion that is never going to happen and they are stuck forever or at least for a long a time

mystal: i don’t like crystal but their relationship seems the healthiest to me. they have their own friends and hobbies and don’t seem so dependent like lierra. only thing that i don’t like is the age gap and how they started dating when michael was super young but i guess we can’t do anything 🤷🏻‍♀️ in terms of them being together for a long time i feel like they would do

he didn't land the day before tour and leave after the last show, some people are acting like he did. he spent over a week with his grandparents at their house before tour, had family come to see him play shows in at least two cities, then had multiple get-togethers with family (via his sister's posts), all over the course of a whole month. that isn't good enough because he left before december 25th? the holidays are a season, there is more to them than being together on the 25th and the 31st.

his friends and home in LA seem to be as important as blood relatives, I hope you feel that kind of chosen love some day.
