The movie that I chose was “Sing”. It’s about how a koala bear (Buster Moon) wanting to take over the theater that his father own. In Buster Moons adult years, none of his shows never worked. Since his shows never worked, he decides to host a talent show and the winning prize was $100,000 in reality it was suppose to be $1,000. At the beginning of the movie it shows each of the main characters background and what they love to do the most which is to sing. Buster moon is very ambitious to do everything in his power to save his theatre from being repossessed by the bank.
The movie was intended for kids that are at least three or four years old (maybe even older if their self-esteem is low). The author wanted to let children know that they can embrace their talents, be ambitious and confident within themselves. To me it’s also a message for parents also to let their kids chose their own paths just make sure that it’s the right path. Their is one scene that actually explains it. A gorilla and his son would rob banks, his son would be the lookout while his dad and the gang would sneak in and steal. In the most of them stealing his son starts singing and wanted to tell his dad but his dad wanted him to be like his “old pop.”

The film that I have chosen to watch was Ant-man and the Wasp. I first heard of the Ant-man by reading comic books. I cannot remember every detail in the picture but I have waited some years for it to finally come out in theatres. When I went to watch the Ant-man with my Stepfather the effects made the movie very interesting had came. Since Ant-man and the Wasp finally hit the theaters this year the trailer persuaded me to go see it. During the movie I notice tons of effects and camera angles in this one than in Ant-man (2015).
Twelve minutes into the movie there are at least three different shot types that include: Medium shot, Close-Up shot, and an American Shot. A medium shot is known as a waist shot only shows the actor from the knee up or the waist up. A Close-Up shows only a small portion of any object showing certain details that the watchers should pay attention to. Then there is an American shot that is just the characters full body.
Twenty minutes into the movie they use some effect that makes the actors or any other object that are being used to shrink. Using that effect in the movie would amaze the viewers because they probably have never seen that kind of effect before. This would also make the viewers think that they did not waist their money especially, if they are really into Marvel movies. Also during this time frame, they used an Extreme Close-Up shot. An Extreme Close-Up shot is mainly just the face of the object or character.
Watching the full movie of Ant-man and the Wasp camera angles and shot types made it very enhanced. This movie overall had a mise-en-scene, which is what the viewers hear, see, and experience during the movie.

The soundtrack of the movie I chose was Fifty Shades Darker. Watching the movie they had a various amount of songs that made the scenes stand out. The movie is about the past lovers Christian and Ana (I believe that’s their names) decide to get back together building trust and stability with each other. One song that was played that I’m sure that almost everyone is familiar with is “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever”, by Zayn and Taylor Swift. Hearing this song makes me feel a little bit down because the song is basically a couple that broke up but are missing each other like crazy until they come back together. When my grandmother watched the movie with me to help me examine all the songs that were being played and she pointed out that some of the music sounds dark but meaningful. In my opinion the soundtracks sound sexless because well, there are a couple of sex scenes occurring in the movie
Listening to “Not Afraid Anymore”, by Halsey uses pathos because it makes the person feel flirty or even romantic showing that she isn’t afraid to show off her body to her so called lover. Even though it sounds like a very dark song people can possibly think that something bad might happen. In all honesty you have to listen to the words very closely as well as what’s going on in the scene to see why the director chose this songs in particular.
My favorite R&B singer John Legend sung “One Woman Man”, in one of the scenes (I can’t remember which though). This song uses ethos because when John Legend says, “ I used to be so cold”, was explaining the reason why Christian was the way he was in the past. Having different women (probably around the same time) while he was with Ana. In Fifty Shades Darker he finally wanted to settled down with Ana making her his “one and only”. Listening to this song made me feel loved and I’m sure everyone wants to feel that way. We live in a day in time now where some people do not know how to commit to just one person. They are too busy chasing other women or men instead of looking at what’s in front of them. For example, a mans personality and hygiene is good nothing is wrong with him but he doesn’t meet your expectations. Well he could be the love of your life one day but you’re too busy looking for ‘Mr.Right’ when he is right in front of you. Like I hear from a handful of family members, “ you won’t realize what you had until it is gone”, which is what Christian felt when they broke up.
In Fifty Shades Darker has 3 wins and 12 nominations in various awards and one of them happened to be the best Film Music Award. I actually agree to it because the soundtrack sets the tone for each scene in the movie. It makes it seem very dramatic, romantic and a bit erotic. Even though, some people might think that majority of the music is very disturbing (depends on the audience to be honest) it actually means something in every single scene (very detailed). Sometimes I wonder why did they choose these certain songs to play in the movie.
I noticed that majority of the songs are with the sex scenes that occur throughout the movie. This would make people feel aroused at the time being. “No Running From Me”, by Toulouse is a very dark slow also nasty song. Listening to the lyrics very closely would actually make a person feel disgusted. This sex scene was very weird, aggressive (in a way), romantic but nasty.

Watching the trailer “Crazy Rich Asians” was filled with Drama, Romance, and also Comedy. The trailer is about basically a woman that lives in New York with her boyfriend that is originally from Singapore.
It uses Pathos in the trailer because her boyfriend hasn’t visited home in years and decided to visit because his brother is getting married and made him the Best Man. His girlfriend is unaware that he is rich until they get on a airplane in first class. The plane provided them sleepwear, two twin beds, and a lot more, which made her asked tons of questions. When they arrived, his mother had a bad vibe with his girlfriend without getting to know her, but his mother wasn’t the only one giving off a bad vibe. Almost everyone was treating her very rudely, making her self-esteem very low to make her think that she wasn’t good enough for her boyfriend.
The trailer shows ethos because of the wedding scene which looks came very gorgeous. Except the fact that they spent $40 million in total. Seeing that part of the trailer actually made me cry a little and knowing me I never cry in movies. Seeing the bride walk on the water in a very beautiful dress, flower petals floating on top of the water, the violinist and soloist was just seem so beautiful. Even after the wedding, the mother was still disapproving her sons girlfriend, so she decided to dig in his girlfriends family background. When the mother discovers the truth about her she starts to rub it in her face. His girlfriend knew nothing about her past except that her father had died, which was a lie that her mother told her. Overall, I believe that everyone should see this movie (if you’re into movies like this). It will probably help some people with wedding ideas, love, family, standing up for yourself and a lot more. This movie touches a lot of life lessons; especially with the girl self esteem being low feeling like she’s not worthy enough to be a wife.
The trailer lacks Logos, I believe people should actually go watch the movie to determine whether or not it has Logos. I’m assuming because of the genre it doesn’t have Logos even though some trailers will have Logos in it.
I discovered that their is a book “Crazy Rich Asians”, that was published in 2013. I want to say that it is based on the movie but everyone knows that the book is more detailed than the movie, so I do want to read the book just to compare and contrast the differences. The author of the book wrote it based on his childhood which made the movie and book true. Based on the movie and book the author uses Ethos because it’s based on real life problems that can go on with anybody that is “wealthy”.

I really can’t wait for this movie to come out. Just watching the beginning of the trailer makes me laugh. It’s about Kevin Hart getting his High School Diploma/ GED because he never finished high school. This is where Tiffany Haddish plays as his night school teacher. It’s just so much laughter throughout the trailer, which makes me really wanting to see it.
