The brunette turned away from the crime scene and eyed the man curiously. The badge looked real, at least. She sent a quick text to Jerry with the information to look up to ensure this guy was legit before giving him her attention again. “Tani Rey. I’m with the Five-0 taskforce.” Her badge was displayed on the front right side of her jeans.
“We’ve been dealing with a string of home invasion robberies. The suspects just upped their game and hit these stores. Electronics, Convenience, and a thrift store. Their getaway vehicle was parked in this alley here. Evidence suggests that the robbers escaped to the roof of the stores then used the ladder over here to get back down into the alley.” She explained pointing to the ladder in question that was attached to the wall on the left side of the alley.
Her phone dinged and she checked her texts. It was a message from Jerry. She was relieved to see that the FBI consultant was legit. “Anyway, something went wrong because one of the robbers got left behind. Coroner said his injuries were consistent with a fall from the roof, but we won’t know more until the autopsy is finished. There were no signs of a struggle on the roof itself though.” Tani pointed out the tire marks on the pavement. “They drove out of here in a hurry. The body would have landed behind the vehicle.”
@5-0xmermaid liked for a starter from Charlie Eppes.
Don didn't like it when Charlie took guest lectures from out of state. Something about Charlie always getting into trouble when he wasn't around to keep an eye on him. Charlie didn't agree, but he played along most of the time. Not when he was offered a lecture position at the University of Hawaii, though. Charlie had always wanted to go to Hawaii, but he'd never had the chance before. He'd jumped on it.
The lecture went well and Charlie was walking back towards his hotel when he noticed the crime scene tape. He frowned, moving closer to the tape, trying to see what the scene was. He had his FBI consultant badge in his bag and he fumbled to pull it out, making his way towards the closest officer.
"Excuse me," he grabbed the attention of the woman standing near him, "I'm Dr. Charlie Eppes. I'm an FBI consultant. What happened here?"

“Well I don’t hear you complaining.” The brunette remarked. “No, you didn’t invite me over, but you let me in.” Tani pointed out to him. “You want it just as much as I do.”
Tani sighed when she saw him. This was never a good idea and yet like a magnet, she just couldn’t resist. “We really shouldn’t, you know. They’d kill me if they knew about us.”

“Naturally.” She scoffed looking up from his file. “See, here’s my issue. We are working a case and a lead is what brought us to that house where we just happened to find you with a weapon.” There was a chime and Tani glanced at her tablet tapping the screen. She read what it said.
The brunette glanced over at him again. “The same house where they just found a duffel bag filled with money. Oh and also they found drugs stashed in a vent.”
Her hand rested on her hip. “I’d say you have about five minutes before you have to answer to Steve. So you can stick with your answer which means dealing with him or you can tell me the truth.”
“So you were found with a weapon on you in a house that isn’t yours. I can’t say it’s looking good for you.” Tani said as she read over the file in her hands. “You got anything to say for yourself?”

“If it were you, you’d already be home.” She teased back. He was just as stubborn as his dad when it came to hospitals. Not that she blamed them. Her hand grasped his hand squeezing it reassuringly.
Tani smiled softly at him. “Thanks. I don’t mind going to your dad’s house. Eddie snuggles and good food sounds perfect to me.” She relaxed a bit. “I’m pretty sure your Dad and Danny had them run every test on me. Nothing is broken and no concussion. Impressive, all things considered.” She gestured to the bandage above her eyebrow. “Just this and bruised ribs.”
Tani hated hospitals. Hell, most of the Five-0 weren’t fond of hospitals. The guys had brought her to the hospital themselves after she had gotten hurt on the job. Luckily, it wasn’t life threatening. She glanced up when she saw who entered the room.
“Hey. I’m okay, really.”

She felt at home in the water. No matter if it was surfing or paddle boarding. Even just swimming. Tani arrived back at shore as the sun slipped down beneath the horizon. She grabbed her towel and dried off.
“Nothing like a Hawaiian sunset.”

Added an open starters tag for the new year. Don’t know why I didn’t do it sooner. These have no expiration date and can be replied to whenever.

"Very Merry Christmas, babe," Danny greeted as he handed her box wrapped in mermaid themed paper. There was a mermaid show happening, and Danny managed to get Tani an invite to swim with the other mermaids, and got her a matching to the story theme tail and accessories.
“Merry Christmas!” She grinned taking the gift from him. A giggle fell from her lips when she saw the mermaid themed wrapping paper. The brunette carefully unwrapped the box then opened it. “Oh Danny!” Tani gasped when she realized what was nestled inside of the box.

Jack comes over while holding a plastic mistletoe over his head, "Mele Kalikimaka, babe!"
”Mele Kalikimaka, Jack.” Tani smiled and gave him a kiss.

“Okay, but what if I moan it out?”
"Only three people know my full government name and it's horrifying to hear it spoken aloud."
