missandei dying in chains, the hound dying in fire, jamie going back to cersei, dany fulfilling a “mad targaryen” expectation

it’s like they’re saying “you can never escape your past, what you’ve been will always be what you are”

and thats a really really terrible message to be sending

It’s not the concept, it’s the execution. I’m sure most viewers would have absolutely no issue with them going this route if the writing had done it justice and there was real build up/nuance. The way they set it up was a total joke lmfao, the distrust towards her in the north, killing off another one of her dragons in a bullshit way, magically capturing and killing missandei, etc. They were trying SO fucking hard to ramp up the “mad queen” ammo in one episode.

They could’ve shown that Cersei had too much pride to ring the bells and then Dany went off. Or she flies to the keep to look her in the eye before setting her on fire. People need to stop excusing the shitty writing when it serves their opinions - it’s been straight dumpster juice these past 2 seasons. For Dany, Jamie, Cersei, list goes on. Whatever, maybe it’ll be a lot better in the books.

Just because some of y’all did not see her becoming a villain and burning King’s Landing down coming from a mile away does not mean it was not foreshadowed and theorized about for years. Y’all just so blind to see her for what she was because the people she was against were not main characters so you didn’t care if she killed or burned them. She’s been talking about taking what’s hers by FIRE & BLOOD, by ripping people from their stone houses, by making people fear her, and if she chooses by turning cities to dirt. Stop blaming your blindness and ignorance on the writing. This has always been her character.
