Donald opened his eyes.

Blinked once. Twice.

His head hurt, ached, like a nail had been driven through his temple.

The ceiling was spinning, but he could still see that he was a room of white and chrome, sterile and alien. It was a room he knew; it was a room he’d missed.

“Donald?” a voice, just as achingly familiar. “Donald, can you hear me?”

Donald blinked once. Twice.

He was dragged back into darkness.

Uno tinkered, because that’s what Everett had always done, and it was the one thing he was never meant to do.

He was designed to be a sounding board, a verbal sparring partner. A learning artificial intelligence modeled after the self-declared “Smartest Man on Earth.” He wasn’t a friend, or an equal, no matter how much he might’ve wanted to be.

Everett Ducklair left Uno alone, abandoned like his tower, like his failed tools of peace turned weapons of mass destruction. And so Uno tinkered, because his creator had always forbidden it, and he’d perhaps developed a bit of a rebellious streak.

He reconfigured the tower’s layout countless times, hacked into government databases just because he could, designed and built and destroyed all manners of weapons and protective or assistive technologies. He watched all 26 James Pond films and built functional replicas of each one of Pond’s spy vehicles, his laser pen, elevator shoes, and so on.

Uno tinkered for himself, until Donald entered his life and then he started tinkering for the Duck Avenger.

Noa: She has lied to my face 100 times even though I can only look at her when she's around, almost tried drowning me and my family, and is reuniting the human world to commit war against us after hundreds of years. So imagine you're Caesar, chilling in heaven, and for the next 300 years, you grow frustrated at the fact that apes and humans can't get along, apes are killing one another, and you have this guy using your name and waving his dick around thinking he's all that and tainting your message and values. Then one day, you see a male ape and female human develop a (not-so) romantic relationship and honestly, you're clinging to any straws you've got so that you can finally rest in fucking peace.

Caeser: Apes and humans fight, Proximus is a dick, and ya'll are killing one another. CAN'T I GET ONE DAMN THING?!?!

I find it hilarious how the movie needs to remind us that Soona and Noa are supposed to be a thing like two times. One by Mae and the other at the end when he shows her the telescope.

Come on, Wes, we know where the chemistry is and it ain't between those two.

Okay, so humor me here. Did anyone else get the sense that there was the beginning of an enemies to lovers thing between Noa and Mae?

Reasons to support this theory:

The facts:

1. When Proximus Caesar was yelling at Noa to choose between a human or an ape (Soona had a knife to her throat) he couldn’t make a choice. Mae made it for him and shot the ape holding the knife.

2. Noa gives Mae his mother’s blanket and Raku’s Caesar medallion. He doesn’t give anything sentimental to Soona.

3. The scene with the observatory occurred between Mae and Noa before it happened with Noa and Soona at the end. Noa reacted way more strongly to watching Mae look through the telescope. Also, both of their faces (Noa and Mae) are transposed looking at the same sky together but apart in that last scene.

4. Despite not being entirely truthful, Noa is forgiving to Mae in a grudging way at the end of the movie and he asks if Apes and Humans can ever live together.

5. Who is saving Mae repeatedly on horseback and hauling her up a steep cliff? Noa.

6. Mae meets Soona, and then while setting up gunpowder with Noa she asks if he likes Soona. He said something about them being born close together, and she looks quickly away.

7. Throughout the movie, Soona is treated as a background character in comparison to Mae. Mae gets way more screen time and interaction with Noa, and will continue to in sequels.

Am I crazy or is this going somewhere?! To make it more interesting, there could be a potential triangle between Mae, Noa and Soona…

Honestly, I’m just really obsessed with Disney right now and it’s getting me through college so sue me! XD (And I don’t have my scanner ;-;)

I wondered if Donald ever had really violent war flashbacks? Even if this makes no sense it was great practice.

Honest Question

How was Luigi and Bowser queerbaiting? The trailer showed one scene with them that was interpreted by some as sexual due to a pull of a mustache. It was never stated they would have more communication beyond that. The voice actors never hinted anything. Jack Black made a comment, but Charlie Day was focused more on Luigi’s characterization and his relationship with Mario. Had it been queerbaiting, they would’ve pulled a parody rom-com trailer or you would’ve heard teasings from Illuminations, Nintendo, or the actors. 

And for those complaining about Bowser’s “heterosexual love” to Peach, what did you expect? This is a movie of a popular video game whose main villain constantly kidnaps a princess he’s in love with. Nintendo made damn sure that didn’t change.
