Keeping the Dream Alive

For the past two months, our team has been hard at work attempting to make a difference in the world on the Live Your Dream Tour. We partnered with other passionate and purpose-driven entrepreneurs and businesses to host a series of intimate cocktail and vision board parties in multiple cities. We hit the road with one thing in mind: to help people kick off the New Year with a dose of inspiration and a bang of action! The tour launched in New Orleans on December 7th to a lively group, who were very excited to be the first to experience what the Tour had to offer. Talk about setting the bar high! Kicking things off here gave us the inspiration and motivation we needed to conquer the challenges we would face in the cities to follow.

As the tour progressed, attendees were clearly excited and eager to organize their visions and get them out on their vision boards. In Chicago, nearly every person in attendance felt inspired to share their visions aloud, causing the event to go over more than an hour. We almost thought the event would not happen due to the blizzard-like weather conditions, however, all but three of the expected attendees came. We even had one attendee drive in from 3 hours away! It was pretty cool that there were no windows in the cozy art gallery where we held the event to remind us of the snow flurry induced chaos outside.  Everyone was free to focus on creating and connecting in the moment, which they all truly appreciated.

Our travel was severely delayed by the "Polar Vortex" that set in over the Midwest and Northeast, so we thoroughly enjoyed hosting in Houston the following weekend to 73 degree weather! It was our first Sunday event and it was very relaxing and peaceful. We faced many obstacles throughout the Tour, from uncontrollable delays, to major miscommunications, to not having ANY magazines on hand as guest were arriving. All of these created the perfect opportunity for our team to exercise our skills and go into PR overdrive to think on our feet and quickly resolve issues that could have jeopardized the success of the entire Tour. The power of having a great team that thrives on trust and communication was definitely reinforced. To our knowledge, every single guest on the Tour left feeling empowered and inspired to be better and do more!

The last stop on the Tour will be at the City Hall Building in Philadelphia on Saturday, February 8, 2014.

Have Fun + Make a Difference

Last month we were tapped to coordinate a fundraising and awareness event for a national youth advocacy organization coming to New Orleans! Naturally we were excited to take on the challenge of helping Youth Move National spread awareness about the mental health disparities amongst our nation's youth. It didn't take long before the light bulb went off to join forces with New Orleans' Young Professional community for an afternoon of food, fun, and friendly bowling competition! 

What we love most about the Young Professionals in New Orleans is their desire and commitment to live life to the fullest and make a difference in the lives of others! This inspired us to ask and seek nominations for some of the most amazing youth advocates around town to honor! Four lucky people were selected. VOTE!

We all can remember the challenges of our youth. Many of us, at one time or another can recall feeling lost, confused, unsupported, or alone. Rally up your friends and co-workers and join us in supporting today's youth. Our future depends on them!
