Four  months ago, I had planned to visit Gujarat with family in this trip we visit gir forest, somnath and dwarka.the ancient temple town of Somnath. I hope that you have enjoyed the first part of my trip view on ‘girnar’.so after enjoyed in girnar my next top is somnath temple. is believed to have built out of gold originally by Somraj, the Moon God himself, then rebuilt by Ravana in silver, then by Lord Krishna in Wood, and then by Bhima (the strongest of the five Pandava brothers) in stone.15 nov 2016 we reach somnath,i was very excited to see the temple, because i read in our history textbooks that the famed Somnath temple was looted and desecrated many times over by the Muslim invader *Mahmud of Ghazni* for gold.so all of this think in my mind when i reach somnath & im very exited to know  history of somnath.

I woke up early in the morning at 5.50 am to have a bath , because i wanted to have darshan of Shree Somnath early in the morning and wanted to see its massive abhishekh with panchamrut. After getting fresh and having bath, I along with my Aai and baba(parents)  quickly rushed to Shree Somnath Temple. We reached on the gates at 6.45 am , I rushed inside the temple to catch a place where i could see the abhishekh with straight view with no one in between and by god’s grace i found one.Jay Somnath...when i reach inside  he great Shivalinga was very beautifully decorated with  Sandalwood,Kumkum,Turmeric,Bilva leaves , flowers. ornaments etc. after the pleasant darshan and aarti, i came outside and read the history on temple wall- Queen Ahilyabai Holkar had made this temple in 1782. She had a dream of the spot where shivalinga was present . The spot was dug up and they found Shivalinga. They named it as Somnath Shivalinga. This Temple is very affected by invader so thats why Queen Ahilyabai Holkar  rebuild this temple. The main Shivling is below ground level, and one can perform Pooja and Abhishek assisted by the Pujaris .there are two temple in this are one is orignal and one is copy and rebuild by sardar vallabhbhai patel.

Then we started our Somnath Sight seeeing. first we visit Bhalka Teerth -Where  Lord Krishna meditating below the tree ( Bhalka Teerth ) which is still present and preserved in Bhalka Teerth Somnath. A hunter named Jara released arrow from his bow towards  the tree from about 1 km, mistaken it for a deer. This arrow hurts lord in his leg. Lord Krishna welcomes this time as his Avatara period has been finished and it was time to leave to his NEEJDHAM. Under the tree, there is a statue of Lord Krishna carved out of blue marble which stands as a memory to Lord Krishna. Bhalka Tirth depicts many feats of Lord Krishna and preachings of the Gita.

after this we went to triveni sangam

and Dehotsarg Teerth( Also known as Shri Krishna Neejdham Prasthan Tirth ) in Somnath is the meeting point of three holy rivers – Kapil, Hiran and a mystical River Saraswati, which are believed to be flowing to their ultimate destination – Arabian Sea. These stages of rivers where they meet and then flow together to the sea symbolises human birth, life and death.in that place Lord Krishna  Avatara period has been finished. Triveni Ghat is one of the most important Holy Places in Somnath that is frequented by many tourists and pilgrims.

Veneshwar Mahadeva temple - Dear Viewers, There is an interesting legend associated with this Mahadeva Temple just opposite Somnath Trust Dharamshala gate, during Mahmud Ghazni invasion of Somnath temple. when Mahmud of Ghazni attacked Somnath, the local king of Vaja clan was unwilling to surrender and decided to put up a tough fight. The Muslim Generals hatched a new plan to abduct his daughter, Veni, who used to pay visit to this linga everyday. When they attacked this temple, Veni locked herself in and surrendered in front of Shiva asking for his help. At this, the linga is said to have divided into two and Veni was taken inside. What is visible to the eye, to this day, is an impression of her hair that was left out as well as the mark of the linga splitting open. Veni achieved instant salvation and Mahmud's plan failed. After this event, this Shiva temple was christened 'Veneshwar Mahadev' in fond memory of this miraculous episode. The temple has a very unusual spire.

This one is a must visit temple , not funded by Somnath Trust and requires donations to operate , So devotees when you go there please donate on this temple structure generously.
Well, I guess it’s now time to conclude the post. Somnath – brilliant place, beautiful sunrise and nice temples. I would’ve still missed to mention many temples and my apologies if any part of the post seemed insensitive. but if you really interested  in historical place with devotion.then you really like this place.

10,000 Steps Of Great Girnar
The holy mountain of Girnar situated at far end of ancient town of junagadh, gujrat, india.girnar mountain older than the Himalayas. It is about 3672 feet high. There is also a hill nearby about (2,779) feet high stepway is built for going up shrine of Jamiyalshah Dataar. Both Hindus and Muslims share the same faith in this shrine. to reach the peack of the girnar mountain has to climb 10,000 steps from the foot of the hill. There is something bombastic and challenging about Girnar mountain. 10,000 steps? Who wants to climb 10,000 steps and back in one day?
Tumblr media
I was just 12yrs old when i started to going there and climbing girnar mountain. It was amazing and unforgettable moment in my life, when I first time reach to the top of the girnar mountain in early morning 6.40am. I felt like i'm in the air ,between bunch of the clouds, and suddenly goldenish red color ray was coming from the cloud ,slowly slowly ray paints the sky with gold reddish and the sun of a molten fiery red cam above the horizon, and a soft chorus of mysteries, glad murmurs came forth from the earth, now you will know what i trying to say, Yes it was a sun rise time. on top of the girnar mountain. It was a huge and wonderful experience in my life.
Tumblr media
in my point of view ,best time for climbing on girnar is ‘night time’ after 10pm,because after 10pm there will be a frigidity time on girnar because mountain and its range are Amidst the lush green Gir Forest.thats why people who climb the girnar mountain in night time it will be help to control body temperature, oxygen, enjoy fresh air who give you energy to speed up and most important thing that is less number of dehydration, which is mostly face in morning time when sunlight bright up and people start to climb the girnar.night time also best for who fear of hight, in dark of night, people can't guess how much high they climb and without fearing they will climb top of the girnar. It is advisable to take a bamboo stick and torch flashlight along the way as it becomes a life saver especially when one reaches the higher end of the climb. It will easily available at girnar Taleti (foothills of Girnar Mountain) on rent basis 20, it will be return back when you come down at foothill.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As the climb begins there are plenty of stalls selling water and other refreshment along the way.The cost of all these products sold in these stalls keeps rising as one climbs higher since all these products are carried physically by the stall owners and their workers. There are no stalls after 3,500 steps so it is advisable to pick up all the required amenities at the stalls that are there prior to it along the steps..

Mount Girnar has five major peaks namely, Ambaji, Gorakhnath, Guru Dattatreya, Oghad Ansuya and Kalka. Out of these five, Gorakhnath is the highest soaring at a height of 3666 feet above sea level. ON the top of holy mountain Girnar this temple of LORD DATTATREYA is located . Lord DTTATREYA  temple having his footprints ( padukas). LORD DATTATREYA is the idol of 3 lords ,LORD BRAHMA--LORD VISHNU--&--LORD SHIVA,together The steps of the climb were initially paved by pilgrims walking this path it was only later on that the stone slab steps were made hence many of the steps are uneven and not of equal length. After every thousand steps there is an indicator in yellow on the steps notifying the steps completed. Ginar mountain are a must visit for the breath-taking view of the scenery and a unique confluence of God and Nature, The architecture of the temples in addition on the challenging climb.
