QUIET COMFORT — IWAIZUMI × OIKAWA

a/n: I wrote this story in grade 9 on my wattpad account (omg...) so I decided to revamp it and repost! hope you enjoy xoxo

the dim light of the room soothed iwaizumi’s tense body and his breathing slowed. iwaizumi buried himself underneath the blanket, his muscles relaxed as his body made contact with the plush material. after the weight of a long day finally lifted from his tired shoulders, his eyes fluttered closed, too heavy to keep open, and in an instant, he drifted into a peaceful sleep.

oikawa spent the entire day waiting for iwaizumi to get home all day, eager to spend some time together. the brunette called out for his boyfriend a few times, growing annoyed at the lack of a response before peeking into his room. iwaizumi was bundled under the covers and deep in sleep, despite all the yelling that he was doing. oikawa quickly slapped his hand over his mouth, not wanting to make any more unnecessary noise.

he quietly made his way to the edge of the bed and sat down. with a gentle touch, he ran his fingers through iwaizumi’s hair, his movements tender as he slipped into the bed beside him. the warmth from both iwaizumi and the bed enveloped him, making him feel at ease.

“iwa…” oikawa whispered softly, his voice smooth and calming, as he stroked his boyfriend’s cheek.

he repeated this a few times before iwaizumi stirred, his voice groggy, thick with sleep. “yes, toru?” he muttered, clearly not thrilled about being woken up.

oikawa looked down at him, a playful yet caring smile curling on his lips. “i wanted to take you out for a little treat tonight, but you look so exhausted…” he paused, then added softly, “let’s just cuddle, yeah?”

iwaizumi couldn’t help the tired smile that spread across his face. without a word, oikawa buried his face into the side of his neck, slinging one leg over his, their bodies fitting together effortlessly. their arms wrapped around each other’s waist as they relished the warmth and comfort of being close.

oikawa pressed a soft kiss to iwaizumi’s forehead. “you can sleep now, love.”

without hesitation, iwaizumi closed his eyes again, the weight of exhaustion settling in his bones. his breath deepened as he melted into oikawa’s embrace.

“night, toru,” he mumbled, his voice muffled as he snuggled deeper into oikawa’s chest, feeling the warmth of his presence fill the room.

a/n: of course! this was an interesting one because I've never written for him before so i hope i did him some justice. enjoy!

you finally convinced kyotani to bake with you after weeks of pleading and a few ‘i promise it’ll be fun!'s. he gave in partly so you would stop bothering him about it, but also because he wanted to spend time with you, but he’d never admit that.

somehow, kyotani had managed to take complete control of the baking, handing you the instructions to read of to him. you reluctantly took the paper from his hands. you were fine with him taking initiative as you were curious to see how the his brownies would turn out, but you couldn’t quite see the next step, the words all blurred together.

“alright, what’s after the sugar?” kyotani asked, dusting the flour off of his cheek.

you scratched your cheek nervously, squinting in attempt to make the words a little more legible, “uh, i think flour…?”

an unamused chuckle left the boy’s mouth, “you think? i’d rather you be sure. if i fuck these up because you can’t read i’ll be pissed.” that’s when he glanced over to you and realized something.

you didn’t have your glasses on.

“y/n…you cant even see. quit guesing the instrcutions and put your glasses on” his tone slightly softened. if you weren’t listeneing closely, you would never hear it.

you shifted your gaze away from him and stuttered out, “no, no i got it i swear! it says–” you were cut of by a hand tightly squishing your cheeks together. while trying to escape the other’s grip between muffled ‘shtop it, lwet me go’s, kyotani spoke.

“look…,” he furrowed his eyebrows, a flush taking over his face, “i know you don’t like wearing your glasses. you always say they dont frame your face well or that they make your eyes look huge, but that isn’t true. to be honest, the first thing i noticed about you was your glasses.”

“i thought the color of your frames really complimented your eyes, i thought the frames really suited your face, and the way you’d push them up your nose when you laughed and they fell was…cute,” he somehow got even more red than he was before, “and i still think all of things now. you’re beautiful with and without your glasses on. now, go put them on before we fuck up these brownies.” he ruffled your hair with a small smirk.

all you could do was stare at him, love and adoration in your gaze. he’s never poured his heart out like that to you, and you savored every word. you let a small smile sneak onto your face, maybe your glasses weren’t so bad.

the team sat down and watched in awe at the spiker's endless stamina. they were surprised his arm hadn't fallen off at the countless times he had hit the ball over the net for the other boy to receive.

“c’mon y/n send over some more!” noya shouted across the court, getting into his receiving position, beginning to get impatient.

“you don’t gotta tell me twice!” y/n responded with a huge grin on his face as he spiked the ball over to noya with the same energy he did when he first started over an hour prior.

the sound of y/n’s hand making contact with the ball and noya’s receives echoed around the court while the rest of the team talked.

“they’ve been practicing for an hour and a half straight with no break…” yamaguchi murmured in complete confusion.

“those two idiots have volleyballs for brains…taking a break is the least of their concerns.” tsukishima chimed in, then took a swig of his water.

“if they keep going like this their arms are gonna snap off,” suga chuckled to himself before daichi elbowed him in his side at the remark. the grey-haired boy chuckled that it was just a joke.

the group got cut off by loud cheering. they all turned their attention back to the court to see the two boys sprinting around. y/n ran to noya and the two high-fived each other.

“we did it! 100 perfect receives!” y/n exclaimed while jumping up and down.

noya hopped on y/n’s back, “i mean, of course we did, we’re awesome!” 

y/n ruffled noya’s hair, praising him for his receives as the two filled the gym with their shouts of excitement.

how were the rest of the team going to deal with two noya’s..

"it was a really good idea to come and watch the sunset y/n!" yamaguchi admitted as he held his camera in his hands, ready to take a picture of the sunset.

the two boys had found a nice, empty area in a field with the perfect view of the setting sun. the air was warm with a slight breeze passing through. the clouds seemed to be dyed ombré by the calm colors of the evening. the perfect time to watch the glorious close of day.

y/n looked over to him and gave a small smile.

"im glad you feel that way! i figured you'd like to see it."

y/n couldn't help but stare at the other. the way the sun touched his face was breathtaking. its rays lingered on his freckles, making them even more prominent than they were before. y/n blushed and turned to focus on the lowering star.

the clicking of the camera and the chirping birds were the only audible sounds as the two boys were enveloped in the beauty of the distant light. as the sun's light began to fade, yamaguchi turned to face y/n.

"i saw you staring at me earlier," he spoke up as a small smile grew on his face.

y/n’s eyes shot open in surprise. he noticed him staring? he was convinced that yamaguchi was paying attention to the sunset while he stole a glance.

y/n couldn’t think of a response as he blushed as he buried his face into his knees.

the freckled boy chuckled a bit. he gently cupped the other's face. y/n immediately melted into his hands. the softness and the warmth was comforting.

"don’t be shy." he reassured.

yamaguchi zoned out himself. y/n’s eyes had this luminous effect, reflecting the last beams of the sunlight. he titled the other’s head down slightly and placed a long, tender kiss to his forehead. yamaguchi pulled back slowly with his eyes closed. he opened them to meet y/n’s flustered face, dusted a deep red. 

“you’re so pretty,” yamaguchi confessed as he pulled y/n in for a hug. y/n immediately hugged him back, enjoying the alone time they were able to have together.

he gets so pouty it's insane. it's almost as if it's his default facial expression. he doesn't get his way? his lips immediately poke out. he wants to be near you but you're busy? he's whining and pouting.

this was something he did all the way into his adolescence. he eventually grew out of it, but i guess old habits never fully go away.

you and gojo were playing a video game together. the mood in the room was competitive. there was an equal chance that either he or you could win or lose. at least two hours had passed since this round started, both of you eager to come out on top. the man next to you was almost too concentrated. he was so fixated on the scores on the top of the screen and finding a new weapon, that he didn't even see you ambush and finish him off. 'you won!' text displayed on your side of the screen. gojo's jaw dropped.

"yes!! finally!" you celebrated

"wha-!? where did you even come from!?" he questioned, beyond confused.

you chuckled, hugging your knees, "i was literally behind you for, like 5 minutes. i thought you were pretending not to see me."

a small whine snapped you out of your celebrations. you looked over at gojo and his arms were crossed over his body. he had slid down the side of the bed with his eyebrows furrowed and a pretty pout adorning his face.

that just made you laugh even more. "aww, is someone bummed out that he lost?"

"whatever." such a baby.

you threw your arms around his shoulders, "don't worry, 'toru. i'm sure you'll win this time."

you pick up his controller and push it back into his hands. you squished his cheeks together and glared at him, "give me everything you got." you smirked.

gojo's mood lifted immediately, "oh, you're so on."

WARM EMBRACE — VANITAS X NOÉ

a/n: my first fic (woop woop) hope you all enjoy. i'm working on making my fics more detailed but here it is!

the window crept open as vanitas swiftly pulled himself through and made his way inside the room. he closed it behind him and drew his curtains closed. a content sigh left his mouth as his shoulders fell slack. today’s mission was particularly labor intensive, his body was tired and sore from the strenuous activities he had to endure. 

he slipped off his outer coat and let it fall slack against the floor, along with all his other extra garments. he’d tidy it up in the morning. not long after he took his shirt off, his vision was blocked briefly. a squeal left his mouth as he whipped around trying to figure out what happened. standing behind him was the vampire he swore on his life he couldn’t stand. noé gave him a warm smile.

“hey vanitas, you’re back earlier than usual?” he stated softly as he fixed the pajama shirt he slid over the human’s head, smoothing out the fabric.

still startled, vanitas swatted noé’s hands off of him, like an angry cat, “i- why are you back so early?”

“domi and i cut our meeting short because she had some business to attend to,”

the shorter sighed again as his whole body now went slack. they both knew he wasn’t really. he was just so utterly frustrated from today’s mission and it was blatantly evident in his features. noé’s never seen anyone get so tense. a faint smile snuck onto the vampire’s face and he embraced the other gently in his arms.

“come, let’s lay down. you look like you need to calm down and destress.” noé grabbed vanitas’ by his wrist and led him to his bed, and didn’t argue at all. he slowly wrapped his arms around noé’s neck and laid his head on his shoulder.

the vampire sat down and leaned back a bit with vanitas still in his lap. usually at this point, he would’ve crawled to his own spot on the bed, but he just sank deeper into noé. he smiled to himself as vanitas mumbled,

“‘dont feel like moving right now…and you’re really warm..”

“that’s fine, you can lay here for as long as you need..” noé cooed

the older snaked his hands under vanitas’ pajama shirt, further spreading his warmth through his body. he pulled his impossibly closer as he slowly stroked his back & under his shoulder blades, applying pressure occasionally. vibrations spread through noé as vanitas softly hummed into his neck, visibly relaxing under the other’s touches. the massages slowly transitioned into slow, soothing back rubs. a mumbled ‘thank you’ left the younger’s lips in that pillowy voice that noé didn’t hear all that often. he responded by patting his back.

it was almost an hour later when noé figured the latter would want to lay in his bed by himself, and started getting up.

“okay, im gonna get up now so you can rest, okay?”

he awaited a response but the room was deafeningly silent, except for the hushed breathing of the man on him. he was curled into his lap, a look of relaxation painting his face that was only brought out when he slept, which he didn’t do often. noé didn’t have it in his heart to wake him up. the thought of having to see him rub his eyes and sit up after being woken up made him want to cry. he hoped deep down vanitas wouldn’t mind if noé stayed in the bed with him, considering he was knocked out cold on his lap. he carefully slid down onto the bed and pulled the covers over them both.
