I finished this short story collection by Ding Ling. I learned a lot about Chinese history, about universal human struggle and I could reflect on my life.

Last couple of days were filled with blue skies and reading. Ignoring a literal existential crisis, I'm doing really well.

Finished both books. Poe's poetry just today. I wanna re-read it as soon as possible but I have many books I want to read next.
Nippon Global by Andreas Neuenkirchen was a very light read. I learned a lot about Japan and he wittily wrote it from the perspective of the German he is.
(I don't think I can access my bookblr anymore, which is a pity)

<If Beale Street could talk - James Baldwin>
Wow what a read that was! I'm really glad that I decided to read it. I really learned a lot about how people can suffer and love and learn and grow.
It was a short read, and it was published in the 70s, but those problems are what people have to handle nowadays too! I am in such a privileged situation but even if it was just a book. Those stories are real and happen all the time.
5/5 🌟

<Multipla by Arya Black - Chosen one>
I'm ending the month by finishing "Multipla". It's a German book by a new author. It's about a dystopian world where everything is powered with cogwheels. The air is toxic hence the mask on the beautiful cover.
The main character, a young woman with a mutation, works as an antiquarian but soon her daily life changes when she accepts a job offer. With her talent she's the only one who can help.
I really liked that book. It's a great mix of suspenseful detective work, a bit of romance and a somehow awful outlook into the future.
It has an open ending and the author is working on the next book already!
Side note, I wasn't too sure which prompt of the challenge I should choose for the book, decided on "chosen one" to be able to read more books for the challenge.
I give it a 4,5 because I think the main character didn't always act accordingly and the language was sometimes inappropriate colloquial.

What I need to read. I love immersing myself in books and I do this with marking quotes with my sticky notes and writing them down in this book which I use exclusively for quotes (of any kind).

How I love my books. Not all are pictured. I bought more again. Reading more books of authors I don't know is so fascinating! Reading different books by one author is just as interesting too!

Again, it's a book by Haruki Murakami! I will read more of him in the near future too (because I still have a few books I wanna read at home)!
I love this cover, it's so pretty!
This one is again a collection of short stories. The German title translated (by me, no guarantee) is "How I saw the 100% Girl one morning in April".
I'm already on Story 3 and marked some phrases I enjoyed.

During July I finished "Blind Willow Sleeping Woman". It took me a while because I didn't read the book for like 2 weeks. I enjoyed the book overall a lot.
It taught me lots about people, Japan (like geography), their culture and left me with many thoughts.
July passed by way too fast. Again another month is approaching us.
