It's a giant deer that inhabits the world of "乾坤の鷲-Kenkon no washi-" This character is particularly my favorite.

"乾坤の鷲-Kenkon no washi-" is a fictional world primarily modeled after Central Eurasia, and within it, this creature is revered as a sacred beast by the minority groups living in the cold northern regions (similar to the border between Russia and Mongolia in the real world).

Despite its gentle nature, it often goes unnoticed by jinka, who perceive humans similarly to small animals. It mainly feeds on moss, bark, and the like, but it eats a variety of things such as mushrooms, fish, and carrion.

To add on, a lot of criticism just seems to come from a lack of understanding.

Fans of the show actually do sometimes talk about stuff and critique the show but the difference is in understanding. Some of us have very different opinions on the show and what episodes are our favorites and which ones we think suck. But they all stem from having actually watched the show and paying some amount of attention.

Sub enjoyers usually focus on just trying to understand and dub enjoyers…idk I’m not one of those but you get it.

We get a lot of hate for liking what we do but we are the biggest critiques. I have to remove myself from being on here sometimes because it makes me feel like shit for liking what I do.

You don’t have to like the show, you can even hate it, but try at least not to blame people who like it and be horrible to them. I’ve had waaay too many people yell at me online for liking it or drawing it’s characters.

No one is claiming it’s perfect (I genuinely think when people say it’s the best anime of all time they are joking 90% of the time). But for me, it’s still comforting even with all its flaws. You may criticize it, just be more mindful of what you say and how you paint the picture of people who like it being awful.

I’ve never been awful to people people who don’t like it, so I just want that respect in kind.

i get why someone wouldn't like krbay and respect that if they're normal about it but it's also a little strange that a lot of the reasons i commonly see people disliking it for (or calling it objectively bad) are the result of a very obvious lack of media literacy or just not caring enough about the show to really think about it or the intent behind it at all. like guys... not being accurate to the games doesn't automatically make the show bad, it just means it goes in a direction that you personally don't like. this anime was made in a very specific way in very specific circumstances. it's okay to imagine an idealized version of it that went exactly the way you'd have liked it to, but it's an unrealistic expectation to have of the actual product we got more than 20 years ago. the fact that some peeps go so far as to just straight up lie about the show being misogynistic is so funny too like..... did you watch the bits where tiff ranted about how cooking wasn't exclusively a woman's job or the ones where she chased creepy men away.
