The Good and the Bad: How social media affected me as a Gen Z Individual

As a Gen Z individual I must admit that social Media did really affect me and I'm glad I've known that I use social media in a bad way. Social Media affect me the way I can communicate easily with my relatives out of the country and in the country but far from each other, whenever I miss them and wanted to talk to them. Social Media gives me an idea to speak up with them, it gives me ways to communicate with other beings far from me. I have a lot to say, since social media is a big help to me as a student and as an individual. In short, Social Media make my life easier to access things I want and need to know. The good thoughts of Social Media affects me as an individual by letting me know about my surroundings and even around the world by the help of Articles, News, Journals, released by the writer, it helps to learn things easier through the application of Google and YouTube. A lot of factors have help me by the use of Social Media, it helps me teach about real world, it gives me explanations I indeed didn't know before, the new things invented, the situation we are in now a days, and most especially Social Media influences me and a lot of people by a people who are influencers and are trendy in Social Media. It may have a lot of factors which can benefit me in life but we should not abuse the good factors because we all know even if we know Social Media that well it also has disadvantages that can damage ourselves.

Generation Z spend a lot of time on social media. They are more likely attached to it that serves as a tool for everyday life. In that case many people didn’t know how to use and handle it well. They are more prone to risk of social media. Basically there’s lot of factors might be the effect of social media to Generation Z , which are pressure and mental health ,it is associated that the more the social media increased in capability of evolving the more people attached to it that why generation Z are more prone from it because in their time Technology and social media platforms have been grew up and discovered. Cyberbullying that may refers to (Depression, anxiety , and suicide ), sleep problems, and eating concern are the most common factor bad effect of social media. As part of Generation Z and a student sometimes social media negatively affect me like distracting and disrupting my sleep. In society the negative or bad effect of social media is it can be the way to spread rumors or false information. This bad or negative effect of social media to Generation Z individual might have different ways to prevent it. It just a matter of discipline and control of individual to lessen this kind of social issue.

Learning digital and Immigrants Natives

In our new world we must accept and teach ourselves in knowing our characteristics in terms of internet, we must know that even if we are this high-tech these days there are still people like immigrant natives and we who are in digital natives must teach them who are in need. There is a situation wherein knowing technology is really important because now a days things around us are more on technology rather than in traditional type. A situation like using an ATM machine, by the itself machine it needs to know how we are going to use it because an ATM Machine was a product of our new technology and it is important to know the usage of it. In an ATM Machine there are procedure which few of people aren't that good and we who knows how to make it work should and must teach people who don't know how to use it and in time the people we teach will also teach others just like how we teach them, and so on as they spread the usage of an example ATM Machine everyone will know it. Another would be an everyday technology we used, the Cellphone/Gadgets.

Although many of us know and has a Cellphone/Gadget many of us also don't know how to properly use it, just like the older person we encounter, a lot of them have been asking us what to do in this and that, we as a Digital native we also need to teach them not because we want to but a simple act of teaching them can spread to teach everyone too. So as a person who is a type of Digital Native it is our characteristics to teach who are in need and everyone who aren't that good in using technology or high-technology equipment and gadgets. Not all of us can use internet, not all of us knows how to use internet, Not all of us cannot relate on the new digital world. However, we can teach them by giving them some time to learn and teach them what they are having trouble with, we just need to be patient. All things takes time you just have to be patient on it.

Piracy is a form of a theft and also a violation of copyrights law, by copying and sharing some copyrighted movies or music without even paying for it. Some of people who are responsible of doing it are the person who has a financial difficulty or person who needs money, because they couldn't afford to buy the original one so they would just simply download it on illegal sites which can affect the sales of the person who intellectually produced the movie or song. Piracy is one of the problem specially to the producers and creators because they are the one who produce it and there are people selling a copyright content that is sold at substantially lower prices in the market. People who are selling and distributing a copyrighted content it is considered as a illegal act because you steal the work of that person to give away the copy or lend it to others for copying. Nowadays there are so many ways that people can easily download movies and copyrighted songs in internet.

The set back of piracy may affect individual it can be advantage or disadvantage for them. Advantage in a way that owners will be comfortable that their works or outputs will no longer copied by other in just some time, disadvantage for the users of piracy that they will dealt it by delaying the progress of it. But now Piracy is more likely happening, now that modern technologies are more improve people that usually doing piracy are more often easily can handle it because there are a lot of way that they can copy outputs of others in just a simple time. People may conclude that piracy is one of the major problem in todays age it is because of the use of internet. It is a common and alarming in todays view. This form of illegal activity gained so much attention to everyone that also gained so much ground that really really to societal issue.

Significance of the types of media

Type of media had consists of 5 types of media, the broadcast, print, film/cinema, video games and new media. Broadcast medias significant is that, any people on planet can hear its broadcast just by opening radios or television because its information was broadcast through air. Print medias significant was to spread ideas through the way of printing information. Film/Cinemas significance is to let us watch film that relatable. Video games is where we socialize with other players around the world. And new media enlighten and introduce us to what social media is and how to be a social media user. The significant of this 2 types of media, the video games and new media is that it helps us to be entertain and let us introduce to the evolving worlds, before we used to have sharing information through kapihan, balitaktakan and kwentong barbero according to the indigenous media, it was their way of sharing and expressing their thoughts. The Print media and Broadcast media was still a power to society now a days especially when news have been broadcast everywhere around the world, as well as the print media who spread news and information through paper. While the film/cinema introduce us to different type of point of views in our life and gave us lesson in things.

The 5 types of media includes examples. Print and broadcast medias significant is that things like press conference, news updates and anything that was happening around the world have been and always been their work since then and it became their culture, to spread and spread information around the word, especially now a days, Pandemic is such a pain in our lives and it need to get news or need to give information as day passes. Film and Cinemas, it gave us life lessons and shares a very shimmering effect to our eyes that can make us more entertained in and out, films like dramas, horror, thrill, romance and many more. Back then, people were just simply using the traditional media which are the Radio; to listen for news and music. As well as television; to watch news live and enjoy watching some movies. There are possibilities that traditional media is no longer active in the society because the new media had a greater impact to the people and to the society because people nowadays have phone or other digital platforms that can quickly get an information and it can be use in different ways in just one click to understand the current situation in our society.

Traditional media is a type of media where everyone from older era have been using for years, by now and then it should be remembered. Which is not precise and some are just misinformation from the person who keep on sharing the information which they thought it is true but in fact it isn't. Sometimes people support information in social media rather than knowing whats in reality, people keep looking up what is in during that day and a few only knew the truth which people cannot understand. In reality people keeps showing good interest in social media and believing things which they cannot dig more information, especially when it comes to politics. When specific politics having hot issues people does keep on looking down to it because it is what in social media. Social media is a threat to everyone, making people more dull in reality, showing people more interest but sadly unable to be shown in real life. When in social media, people cannot speak but rather than believing wrong information. Media serve fill in as our guide to inform us anything thats going on now in our reality. Without media we cannot a have good source of information. The government might help us to lead into the right path. The relationship of media and government is tend to have a conflict that may matter on informations. Media can be biased but for the government it is not. That’s why some journalists might opposes the government. This relationship between media and government affects the data information on which individual approaches. Truly the right hand of government is the media but sometime it may have a conflict about informations that may lead to love- hate relationship between two factors. After all, it is not the media's duty to applaud the government's good work. However we also do so in honesty to show that the critiques and remarks are not meant to overthrow the administration, but to wake up the officials and correct their perversion. Nowadays, people already know what are the different ways of getting information that they need. With the advances of today's technology, they just need to click either through their, TV's, smartphones and other media for information. The value of being a media and information literate individual is very important it deals on how we act on our society. Living now on this century is more exposed on media, by the evolution from it a lot of media surround us like technologies such as television, computers, cellphones, and etc. Being literate about media an information makes us more knowledgeable to be informed well in reliable and relevant informations.To become a literate individual you must have the qualities of individual that can deal on evaluating, analyzing,and learning from any different Information that could be a right (true) or false information. If you have that quality then you can easily recognize information correctly that can be done through the process of locating and evaluating it because your information not just deal on you but also in the society. If you are a media and information literate individual you must think wisely about any information you could probably share because sometimes those information will affect the other people's opinion but also that information can be a inspiration to others.
