I became good at pretending. I became so good that after a while the lines blurred between my truth and fiction. And sometimes, when I did a really good job of pretending, I even fooled myself.
Stop comparing where you’re at with where everyone else is. It doesn’t move you farther ahead, improve your situation, or help you find peace. It just feeds your shame, fuels your feelings of inadequacy, and ultimately, it keeps you stuck. The reality is that there is no one correct path in life. Everyone has their own unique journey.
the stereotype of the man being trapped in a marriage is even more unpalatable when u remember than more often than not its women who end up being trapped in a marriage with very few to no means of escape and that’s a reality for a lot of people and not just a joke a man tells to complain about how terrible his wife is when at the end of the day HE is the problem
