Once, early in their travels together, Jaskier had asked Geralt about Kaer Morhen and if he could ever visit.

To make him stop talking, Geralt had said Jaskier could only go if he found it by himself. At the time, Geralt believed that was impossible.

Later, while Geralt and Ciri were at Kaer Morhen, a long time had passed since Geralt last saw Jaskier. Occasionally, Geralt would hear news about Nilfgaard conquering new places, particularly when he heard about Lettenhove being destroyed.

His concern deepened when, the next day, Eskel arrived at the front gate, dragging a half-frozen and nearly unconscious, confused Jaskier, who had been wandering around the mountain for days, looking for a safe place to stay.

A comment I see a lot is that Jaskier’s outfits have gotten worse over the seasons, but not when you think about their relation to his character growth. Here’s a look at Jaskier’s outfits across the seasons of The Witcher.

Season one: his outfits change frequently and each is as boldly coloured and extravagant as the next. They’re detailed but also have an air of royalty to their design, with puffed sleeves, high collar, high waistline of the pants, and a slim-fit around the waist.

This is because he’s just starting out as a bard; he is still used to being a viscount, used having money and living in luxury.

Then in season two, we get the Sandpiper outfit, one outfit that is durable and layered so that it can be adjusted to suit different climates. It’s more practical but less detailed which makes it easier for him to blend in with normal people (which benefits his cause). At this point, Jaskier is more established as a bard and now pays for himself or scrounges money and uses it to help people in need, so there’s less fancy clothing or materialistic spending. His vest has a pattern to it that calls back to season one but it’s dull, faded and stained.

But what’s more, his hair is unkempt and his clothes are blood soaked and stained, a visual representation of his mental downfall since the end of season one when he and Geralt had a falling out.

And now, in the previews of season three, his hair is groomed/neat, his clothes are still the Sandpiper outfit but with a floral shirt and a detailed, open-breasted vest that calls back to the patterns and intricacies of his outfits in season one. He’s found a balance between simplicity and the elegance he was used to. He’s more comfortable in himself and has found a balance between who he was (a viscount who knew money and luxury) and who he wanted to be (the Sandpiper; someone who helps others).

Another detail is his collars.

In season one, he wears high collars that cover his chest and neck, suggesting he’s shut off and defensive or uncomfortable in his surroundings.

In season two, his collars stick up but his chest and neck are bare, suggesting he still has his defences up but he’s been laid bare emotionally and psychologically.

Finally, on season three, his collars lay flat, his shirt is unbuttoned and his vest has a wide lapel, suggesting he’s comfortable, open, and isn’t scared of being vulnerable.

That’s just my thoughts on the matter. And while I would love to see Jaskier in outfits like the ones in season one, I also like the other outfits and how they reflect him.

Some small details from the Jaskier/Radovid kiss scene that make my little heart go insane

• When Jaskier brushes Radovid's hair out of the way before kissing him

• Jaskier's other hand going to Radovid's neck, seemingly disappearing into his hair

• Radovid grabs onto Jaskier’s bicep when he fully realizes what's going on

• The way the kiss is shy and has an innocent feel to it

• When they part Jaskier nuzzles his nose into Radovid's cheek (it's a blink and you'll miss it moment)

• All the tension disappears from Jaskier’s shoulders and face when they part

• Radovid is the first one to open his eyes

• When Jaskier finally opens his eyes he first looks at Radovid's lips then into his eyes

• When Jaskier says "I can't take you inside. I'm sorry" His thumb is gently caressing Radovid's cheek

• The tiny smile Radovid gives Jaskier as he says "Then take me here"

• Jaskier’s barely there smile before Radovid leans in for a second kiss

• The look in Jaskier’s eyes when he closes the gap on a much more passionate second kiss

• Jaskier’s hand that was just seconds before on Radovid's cheek going down to his chest

Over all its just a really sweet moment and I'm so immensely happy one of my favorite characters is now canonically queer!!

Geralt always found it odd when Jaskier mentioned Lettenhove. It was clear the bard came from nobility, leading Geralt to suspect Jaskier might hide his true status to maintain his freedom to travel.

However, Geralt couldn't help but wonder why Jaskier chose Lettenhove specifically.

After all, why claim to be from a place that had been destroyed centuries before Jaskier's birth?

The witcher s3 is out, but I can't make myself watch it. As much as I loved the first season, I completely hated the second. And from what I've seen happening, I'm not going to like the 3'd.

Even canon bi Jaskier can't lure me back, unless they would make Geraskier canon, but it's not the case, obviously.

So I'll just share my old watercolour Geraskier fanart from the times when I've watched the s1 and boarded this ship.
