'Evil Dead' Remake Has its Moments, but it Could Have Been Better
Seriously, I really wanted to love this remake of “Evil Dead” the way my fellow horror fans did. They seem to be thrilled about this one in ways they usually are not when it comes to remakes of any kind, and we knew way in advance that this remake was designed to be an incredibly gory delight. But while the filmmakers did their best to not just do the same old thing with their take on Sam Raimi’s…

Okay, so i watched tcm 2022 again and my feelings about the first 12 minutes did not change. They still knock the wind out of me and still prevent me from properly enjoying the 2nd and 3rd act of the movie.
I wish the writers went into depth about how foster care systems could be abusive for children through that old lady instead. They could’ve made Dante an orphan or sumn, so that the issue could’ve been: Dante’s upset cus of his experience as a foster child and he doesn’t trust the lady, but it turns out she was kind to the kids. It would’ve made the issue complex instead of just making the lady racist, but a “good person.” It also would’ve given Dante any depth instead of giving him depth through racism.
Speaking of which, it still boggles my mind that they tried to ✨morally gray✨ racism. And they definitely only did it cus of the racial tensions in 2020, and that’s why the gun narrative was there too. But it’s so clunky compared to said gun narrative and it doesn’t fit the movie AT ALL so it just leaves a poor taste in my mouth that never goes away cus then they try to paint Dante as the asshole for feeling the way he did toward that lady (cus it turns out she DID own the lease to the building), but Dante had no reason to feel any different about that lady (as a black person, fuck that lady idc idc).
I wanna have a strong liking for this movie, but seeing characters that reflect me only being there to echo the writers’ centrist opinions about racism, and then having both black characters die—my feelings about this movie can only remain lukewarm. And this is rlly unprecedented for me cus i’ll defend “”bad”” horror movies with my blood.
I just wish the writers (Rodo Sayagues and Fede Alvarez) actually knew about black ppl outside of our struggles; especially since they want to dictate how blk ppl should feel in racist situations. Knowing that they’re the same writers from Don’t Breathe and Don’t Breathe 2, completely ruined the allure of those movies for me. Since I had an interest for watching them for awhile. I’ll prolly still do it, but I know it’s gonna suck, cus they’re portrayal of blk ppl WILL be racist (if there are any).
They’re’s been rumor of tcm 2022 getting sequels, and i rlly hope Rodo Sayagues and Fede Alvarez aren’t anywhere NEAR these projects.

ALIEN ROMULUS Is This The Alien Movie We've Been Waiting For?
Being a life long fan of the Alien franchise I have always looked forward to a time that they would put out a movie that connected more to the originals. Well with the new Alien Romulus trailer it looks like we may be getting just that! Fede Álvarez takes up the directors chair (Dont Breathe /  Evil Dead) and Ridley Scott producing this has already gotten a huge stamp of approval from Ridley Scott and James Cameron. The story reportably takes place between the first and second movie and really shares that same look with lighting and set pieces. This is going to be one to go see in the theaters for sure! I have The Hollywood Reporter article as well as the trailer itself linked below. Are you a fan of the Alien franchise? Are you excited from the little bit we have seen? Let me know what you think! Could this be the Alien movie fans have been waiting for? #movie #trailer #reaction Source article: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/mov... Teaser Trailer: https://youtu.be/GTNMt84KT0k?si=K4bCK...
