PSA 🗣️ another scammer using genAI without disclosing it
pixlgirl has been posting generated AI (targeting fandoms) without disclosing it, passing it off as their genuine art and has apparently scammed at least one person into ‘commissioning’ them. this is a public PSA so yall can block them, and not interact. please do not harass them!
it’s incredibly shitty to be disingenuous while posting AI but even shittier to scam people with it 🤢 stay diligent yall

i think the palworld thing is really interesting- because so far, there's no proof that the company used AI to make their mons
the real reason everyone is up in arms is because of the plagiarism thing, and like, idk, genuinely, do we care?
like does it matter?
it's game freak, they'll walk it off. people who like pokemons like them mostly out of brand loyalty. they like pokemons because they're pokemons, they don't just like cute monsters.
i'm sorry but i think it's fine if you want to make a game where legally distinct pikachu kills people with a 1911. i don't actually give a shit. like litterally why are we defending Pokemons, they're fine, they can shoot lasers and whatnot.
plagiarism matters when people are harmed. game freak is not people, and frankly, I don't think any of this will harm them.
one thing you can and should call palworld, however, is derivative. it lacks any sort of imagination. wether AI or not was used matters little: it's definitely just trying to make Content with a snappy concept and that's it. it's not worth your time not because of the tools that MIGHT have been used to make it, but because even if each of these mons had been painstakingly designed by hand with a graphite pencil, they'd still just be trying to ape pokemons. the intent would be the same regardless.
Pocketpair isn't the next Sommerton.

me and my friends have a discord server thats essentially just a group chat but better because we have channels for all of us. anyways, we have this bot that takes the images you send, and the messages you send, and sorta just........... makes weird memes? its made a lot of really odd ones so here are some of my favorites
theres like probably 100s more if you want it to make stuff just send me an ask with an image attachment and ill pop em into a channel meant just for tumblr
this one is an out of context screenshot where my friends message got sent too late and sadly sent RIGHT after i used grian as a reaction image.
back to regular schedule
theres like probably 100s more if you want it to make stuff just send me an ask with an image attachment and ill pop em into a channel meant just for tumblr

A Poll Of Your Thoughts On Generative AI
I really don't agree with the use of generative AI in any way, shape or form, but I wanted to create a poll to see just how many people think about it the same way as I do.
If everyone who participates in this poll can share it around, it would be greatly appreciated.

Tumblr & genAI
In recent news, that Tumblr will be selling their metadata to gen AI companies (I'm aware that the site has already been scraped like many others already), I'm considering removing all of my artwork.
I may re-upload them at some point, protected, or this may just become my personal account to browse nice pictures, since I'm not active on this platform (at all).
I understand this may not concern many people, considering the lack of engagement on my part, but I just want to put a notice on, to whoever might see this and might want to take future actions regarding their IP, personal photos etc, as well.
Cheers!

You have to be so careful with GenAI and fact check everything before you put it to print. Spent a while with Copilot and Gemini working through Japanese economic figures and how to interpret them.
Both of them answered multiple queries incorrectly (either with wrong data or wrong interpretations), and contradicted themselves several times.
Fortunately I was rebuilding an existing Numbers model, so I won't need to go through that hell again.
Not entirely sure it was faster than Googling.
