No, you can’t pet that dog. ✋ Introducing the bush dog (Speothos venaticus)! This rare canid is so elusive that it was once known only from fossils and thought to be long extinct. It inhabits parts of South America from Panama to northern Argentina, where it can be found in packs of up to 12 individuals. With partially webbed feet, this critter is a skilled swimmer and spends much of its time around water. It hunts for a variety of rodents including agoutis, pacas, and capybaras.
Imma be honest, at first I had NO idea that Law was 26 entire years old. I learned his official age in a comment on a Pinterest post, like, I was none the wiser.
You mean to tell me that this is a grown ass man?! ^
THIS?! ^ LIES
I admit that I can see it post time skip, especially in Punk Hazard and Zou. (He was just a twink in Dressrosa. A foolish twink.)
But THIS?!
NAW. When he showed up I guessed that he was like 18, 19, maybe 20. But 24?!?! Really?!?! I don’t have a problem with his age or anything I was just genuinely shocked!
But come on. This is not a grown ass man ^ This is a teenage dirtbag. Cue Wheezer guitar riff.
I COULDN’T HAVE BEEN THE ONLY ONE
His stoner fit fooled me! I know people complain about shipping Luffy and Law because of the age gap but like… dude, I seriously had no idea he was in his twenties 😭
I find it so amusing that this goofy emo dude is a full grown adult man. With full on medical expertise and everything. Love that for him.
The shovelnose guitarfish is a species of ray that lives around California. They can live up to 11 years and are around 120-137 cm long when fully grown.
They have characteristics of both rays and sharks, and were mistaken for sharks when they were initially discovered because of this. They are named guitarfish because their shape resembles that of a guitar!
They eat crabs, worms, clams, and sometimes other fish.
In the 1870s, 37 cats were tasked to deliver mail to local villages in Germany. However, the cats were not disciplined enough so it was quickly dropped
Behold the dazzling colors of an iridescent ammonite (Placenticeras intercalare)! A relative of today’s squids, this ammonite lived some 80 million years ago near what is now Alberta, Canada. This fossil’s spectacular coloration is the result of millions of years of high temperatures and pressures. As these forces acted on nacre in this ammonite’s shell, it was transformed into a gemstone known as an ammolite. Along with amber and pearl, ammolite is one of only a handful of gems made by living organisms. You can spot this rare specimen in the Louis V. Gerstner, Jr. Collections Core in the Museum’s Richard Gilder Center for Science, Education, and Innovation!
the desert rain frog ( oh sorry for not clarifying, thanks :)
Animal of the Day: Desert rain frog!
The desert rain frog is a species of frog found in Namibia and South Africa. It is mostly found on a small strip of land about 10 km wide that runs along the coast of these two countries!
Unlike most other species of frogs, the desert rain frog does not have a tadpole stage. It develops straight from the egg into an adult! It has a stout body with small legs which makes it unable to hop or leap, so it gets around by walking.
They are a burrowing species, using these burrows to wait out dry periods and to sleep in during the day. They can absorb moisture from the wet sand around them through their skin!
THAT SNAIL WAS SO COOLIO!!! I HAVE NEVER SEEN SNAIL SO BIG
~kittato
Ikr?!
They're super common where I live! We call them "Weinbergschnecken" here in Germany but their scientific name is "Helix pomatia". Other common names are: The Roman snail, Burgundy snail, or escargot
They are an edible species of snails and they are a relic remainder of the Romans bringing them over to Europe for consumption, and possibly to use their slime in holistic medicine, aswell as anti-aging remedies. And now, almost 2000 years later, they thrive not just in northern Germany, but also in the UK, western Belarus and the Baltic states, the south of Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and in the Benelux!!
The snail in question, for anyone who missed the post about it:
