“I’m really not at liberty to discuss that particular client.” Diego notes, perfectly professional in his manner. Calm and collected with a cup of coffee that is perhaps too small for his hand, he sips at it while watching over his companion. That’s where the shift happens; when his face goes from neutral to amused, a certain shine to his eyes. Behind the cup, his lips are curling into a smirk. “Let’s just say that she did it… but I just can’t prove it.”

" davina can’t help pipe up , eyes wide in intrigue . she leans forward , placing her chin in her hands as she stares at the male in what MAY be seen as unnerving to some . “ please , i barely had to say anything . you were dying to spill it . you’re like a school girl with juicy gossip . “ her eyes twinkle , a grin stretching over her features . “ fine though . don’t tell me about that client . tell me about another . can i draw you whilst you do ? you get this MAGNIFICENT look in your eyes . it’s kodak worthy , you know ? which is such an outdated term . we should now say it’s DAVINA SHAUGHNESSY WORTHY . which it absolutely is . glorious , really . please , keep going , don’t mind me . “ she’s hurrying to reach into her bag for her art pad , and some graphite pencils .

👾 ⠀  ⠀ ⠀  ⠀ ───────────  “ are you sure about this one, vina ? ” declan’s voice carried from the bathroom of their small one bedroom as he stood looking at himself in the mirror. he was trying on one of davina’s latest creations, a comfortable short-sleeved button down with a pattern much too nice for the construction work he’d be doing in it. as much as he loved the fit, and wanted nothing more than to diversify his closet, he felt guilty to have her waste her efforts on something he’d only ruin while at work. “ i mean, this is great ! everything you do is great, seriously. i only look half as good as i do because of you, so i appreciate you and this is not me hating on your artistic touch ─── again, it’s so cool. but… i’m practically doing manual labor ── hard manual labor all day, and i’d hate to ruin something you put such work into. ” he concluded, taking a breath for the first time since he started speaking.

" davina has her hands clasped in front of her chest as she tries not to jiggle her leg and entire body in too much excitement . this is always her favourite part of designing and creating  : seeing it live on someone’s body . seeing the way the fabric flows or the colours bleed . seeing how people will pause slightly to touch , and admire . they never realise in that moment that it’s no longer about her work , but THEM . they are the art . they are the piece worth admiring , to be hung upon next to the mona lisa itself . in a way  - it always has to start and end this way : declan was the one who gave her her first paints , and the one who would sit with her whilst she sketched  . it was declan who tried on her very first handmade shirt ( the arm holes were misaligned , and it fit him like lady gaga’s meat suit , but he swore he loved it ) . it was declan who always , no matter how much of a rush he’s in to get out the door , will pause and admire davina’s latest work and yell out a haphazard ‘ looks great , vina ! ‘ . IT MAKES SENSE THAT IT’S DECLAN RIGHT NOW , in the bathroom . although years have passed , nothing has changed when it comes to the simplicity of her and her brother . “ just let me have a look before you write it off for the day . people can look fabulous on construction sites . that’s why i made this hi-vis still . it’s practical and fashionable . “ and experimental , which is davina’s favourite part . she’s grinning from ear - to -ear , not minding declan’s half-ramble because she’s barely listening anyways . she bounces up and down on the spot again . “ dec ! please ! just for one second , won’t you indulge me ? ME ? davina shaughnessy , your beautiful capable fashionista whirlwind of a sister ? the next anna wintour ? “ she claps her hands together , quicker this time , in a way to hurry him up . “ i need to check the sizing ! and i promise , if it’s that impractical , you don’t have to wear it today . maybe we could go out tonight instead ? “ she asks with some hopefulness , even though both their bank accounts promise something else . but between declans odd jobs , davina’s freelancing and studying . . it IS rare that the pair actually have more than an hour together , on any given day .
