sometimes when you want to download a video from a site, you will see blob: in the webcode instead of an .mp4 file.
there are many extensions that can help you download videos like these: HLS Downloader, Stream Recorder, a directory full of them on github, and a bunch of others
for what i usually do however you will need JDownloader.
after you've installed it, first right click on that webpage you're trying to get the video from, and click Inspect.
then go to Network and type in ".m3u8"
RELOAD THE PAGE!!!!
and play the video and you should get something that contains "master" (it's the first one for me). this will contain the file in all its resolutions. you click on that once, and this will pop out.
copy the Request URL you get into JDownloader: right click while you're on the LinkGrabber tab, select "Add New Links" and just copy what you've copied. if you have had JDownloader open the whole time, then it will automatically add itself.
then you will get a folder or folders containing the video. right click on the highest resolution, and then on Start Download
it will take you to the Downloads tab where you can access the video
Netflix
the same method will NOT work for netflix as it does contain blob: videos, but the Network tab will not show you .m3u8 files. instead of .m3u8, you need to type in ?o
you will get a BUNCH of links. it's better to click on the Name tab once so it's organized by name.
you will see two files - one's audio and the other is a video file. i don't know which is which so it usually takes a bit more time. i find that the videos are in order of appearance: 0-4095 will be for the first video on the page, 10231271-10304899 is for the second video and so on.
what you need to do next is copy the Request URL
and copy it into the search bar, and DELETE what's between "net/" and "?o"
you need to hit enter and then it will download an .exe file for you.
when you click on it, it will send you to the folder it's located in. click on the file and select your preferred video player to open it with.
"They are like a little old married couple sometimes! And it's really sweet. [...] Tabby is ultra protective of her girl, she will not let anyone near her. Yes, she does the cooking and the cleaning, and she will pour the tea and bake the biscuits and be ready for her girl to come home." (x)
After this most recent episode i'd like to remind people that the word g*psy is a slur. Some Romani people have reclaimed it but you shouldn't use it if you aren't Romani. I wasn't personally angry (though slightly taken aback) that it was used in the show because i felt it was realistic, not excessive and was portrayed in negative light, while also telling us something about both Nicki and Armand as characters. I still don't want to see it used by fandom in everyday language and discussions. Many different names have been used to refer to Romani people but 'Romani' and 'Roma' are what communities around the world generally accept themselves.
Nicki calling Armand a g*psy doesn't necessarily mean that he is Romani (though he easily could be since we don't know much about his background yet), but it tells us that people in-universe assume so when meeting him. The way the society treats Romani people is extremely hostile and Romani have been widely hated and discriminated against for the entire recorded history. The Paris timeline of s2 also takes place in the immediate aftermath of the WW2 and the Romani genocide. Regardless of is Armand actually Romani or not, being perceived as such would have a major influence on him, his life and relationships, and how he moves through the world. I don't know will the association with Romani be addressed in any way in the future, but i hope that people are mindful of Armand as a character existing in this framework
