How do you usually go on about drawing gore? Do you look for references in movies, ideas/feelings that pop up in your mind or any other way?

I usually draw gore as a way to vent negative feelings.

As for reference, there are a few things I've used -

Medical cross-sections and the like, for what goes where inside the body. Easily accessible on Google and most recommended.

Horror movies. Also recommended.

IRL gore photos on certain subreddits - can be very upsetting depending on the content, and not recommended for everyone.

IRL dissections of dead animals via my other hobby. Not recommended for everyone.

Myself. NOT recommended. Do not do this. I was mentally unwell.

(Edit: Me drawing/posting gore doesn't always mean I'm in a bad mood... sometimes I'm just fixating on a character and just Have to make them suffer y'know)
