one piece: the movie film review!!!!

yall need to start putting some respect on my man usopp's name be he carried this whole movie HELLOOOO

this brought many tears to my eyes. (and some running down my legs when zoro fought el drago with a sword in his mouth while being fully chained to luffy that man is so hot and skilled and hot and smart and cool and did i say hot...as FUCK)

but ofc ofc lets address the elephant in the room it isnt the east blue saga without sanji but there were so many cute zolu moments in the film so it evens out in the end yayyyy

also 11 berries for that feast is such a MF STEALLLL i bet it was actually worth the whole treasure bag nami found at the end (mad they didn't insist on giving tobio and his grandfather at least half icl)

but anyways TRULY a beautiful film, i was crying as the credits were rolling how could you ever hate any of the straw hats

labelling someone as "complacent" simply for modelling in russian-occupied territories is not only incorrect, but an oversimplification.

first off, the word you're looking for is "complicit", meaning "involved with others in an activity that is unlawful or morally wrong". by modelling in a certain coordinate, she does not become "involved with others in an activity that is unlawful or morally wrong". sure, it's weird, but professional work, especially in industries like modelling, doesn’t ever reflect political beliefs. locations are decided by agents and photographers and whatnot. that is common sense i fear. to claim complicity without evidence of the actress' intent reduces the complexity of individual circumstances and integrity of your argument.

i don't really have much to argue on the statement front because anyone would appreciate that; my problem lies in the fact that you assume she is in support of genocide and equate her silence to this.

it’s unreasonable to expect actors to publicly declare their stance on conflict. many professionals, especially in entertainment, are often bound by contracts that limit their ability to speak on political issues. i am not excusing this in any way - it is absolutely disgusting to me that rules like this exist, but it's the hard truth. really, it isn't the actress, or oda, or the casting, or netflix etc. etc. that's the problem here. it's the situation, and if we look at that for what it is individually i think we will be able to see eye-to-eye.

Well my excitement for OPLA season 2 has just shrivelled and died with the confirmation of Robins casting. Casting a russian to play a character who survived genocide is like a slap in the face. Unless the actress clearly positions herself against russias invasion of Ukraine I will refrain from any interaction with opla, despite having adored season 1.

The fact that fans are photoshopping the acresses face unto a Robin cosplay by a Ukrainian cosplayer just makes the whole situation all the more disgusting.

genuinely such an amazing cast. not only are they great on-screen, but they are the literal embodiment of the characters in real life as well. their chemistry is absolutely immaculate, the perfect blend of loud and quiet, goofy and witty, etc. etc.: they just complement each other SO WELL

that's why i can't get enough of their content, from interviews to posts: everything they do, even off-screen, feels so canon 🥹
