                              Sorrow  filled  the  halls,  losing  such  a  person  who  had  shaped  and  moulded  so  many  of  these  young  mutants.  It  was  strange  not  having  her  around  the  halls,  hearing  her  voice  something  none  of  them  had  realized  it  would  be  something  they  would  miss.  Kitty  was  close,  but  not  as  close  as  the  others  who  had  known  her  for  far  longer.  Sure,  she  was  upset,  she  had  shed  her  tears  but  she  was  there  to  help  her  friends  with  THEIR  grief.  A small yawn escaped as she dragged her feet down the hall to grab a late night snack, phasing through the door as to not a l e r t any of the rooms nearby she was surprised to see Kurt standing there. He turned to face her before she could call for his name, tears stained on his cheeks and misty eyes.  ❝  Do you wanna talk about it...?  ❞

                     Was  this  game  still  a  thing? Spin  the  b o t t l e?  Perhaps  the  memo  was  lost  on  these  mutants. They  were  outside  enjoying  the  start  to  their  summer,  some  standing  by  the  bonfire,  others  enjoying  Dazzlers  performance.  But  this  handful  were  sitting  in  a  circle,  with  an  empty  beer  bottle  like  a  bunch  of  high schoolers.  Kitty’s  luck  in  this  game  had  been  rather  lousy,  she  couldn’t  recall  a  single  turn  in  which  the  bottle  had  landed  on  her,  until NOW.  Looking  across  to  who  had  spun  she  heard  the  playful  click, seeing  the  smirk  that  spread  on  his  lips.  Kitty  couldn’t  help  but  roll  her  eyes  at  his reaction,  leaning  forward  to  press  a  delicate  kiss  against  his  lips,  for  what  felt  like  only  a  brief  moment  their  lips  met,  soft  and  slow,  the  taste  of  liquor  still  lingering  on  his  lips.  Breaking  away,  she  sat  back  brushing  her  hair  behind  her  ear,  keeping  her  gaze  on  the  ground.

                          It  had  a  l o n g  and  stressful  day  of  working,  eyes  were  strained,  fingers  cramped  from  all  of  the  typing,  the  code  was  nearly  completed, however,  a   much-needed  break  was  in  order.  Just  in  the  nick  of  time,  Sterling  walked  in,  as  if  she  had  somehow  known  she  was  needing  to  step  away.  Her  taller  figure  shrunk  down  as  she  sunk  into  the  couch  next  to  her,  pulling  her  in  for  a  warm  and  tender kiss,  slowly  sliding  the  laptop  away  from  her  lap,  Kitty  shifted  towards  her,  giving  her  full  and  undivided  attention  to  her.

                     Rough  days,  ones  that  left  Sterling  to  herself,  locked  away  from  the  rest  of  the  world. Kitty  knew  she  wasn’t  willing  to  admit  to  herself  that  she  wanted  company,  to  have  anyone  see  her  v u l n e r a b l e,  get  through  her  walls  and  defences.  But  she   wouldn’t  sit  by  and  allow  more  days  to  pass  by,  let  her  win  in  her  self wallowing. Phasing  through  her  door,  she  heard  the  protests  ignoring  them,  through  each  touch  she  refused  to  leave  stepping  closer  until  she  was  able  to  place  a  soft  and  tender  kiss  against  her  lip. After  a  few  moments  pulling  back  to  place  her  hand  against  Sterlings  cheek,  thumb  running  against  her  delicate  skin. ❝  Do  you  wanna  like...talk?  ❞
