Fics where they pine over each other while the other one is in a relationship? Example: Sherlock pines for John while he's with Mary or someone else. Or John pines for Sherlock while he's with someone else. Preferably with a happy ending!!

Here’s a list of some of my favorite Hetalia fanfictions. Most have pairings, which I’ll specify. I put this up because I know I’m always on the lookout for good fanfiction and I wanted to help out anyone else who’s in the same boat :D Feel free to add onto this or rec me some too ;) Also a good master list of the ones I like LMAO. Unexpected : Rated T, 5.7k words, One-shot, Humor/Drama, Complete World Academy. When Arthur was asked to tutor the star of the American Football team, he expected several things. Sitting in an apartment full of Asian children was not one of them. (cute!)

The Invitational Year : Rated M, 208k words, 41 chapters, Romance/Drama, Complete Alfred is an awkward dork, despite the fact his dad is President. Arthur is a member of British royalty, and he's a perfectionist loner. Both boys are given an invitation to attend the prestigious World Academy and, naturally, they're roomies. (note: A favorite of mine! Quite long but very much worth it. Highschool AU. Can be silly yet dramatic. Anyways, you should read it! Viewer discretion due to sexual themes)

The Sophomore Year : Rated M, 173k words, 34 chapter, Romance/Drama, Complete After meeting at boarding school, Alfred and Arthur became unlikely friends and then lovers. Now, they'll face their sophomore year in America and all the challenges that come with being young, famous, and madly in love. (note: sequal to The Invitational Year)

And All That Jazz : Rated M, 98k words, 22 chapters, Romance, Complete Alfred is approached by the Student Body President, Arthur, for help on his math exam. They hate each other, but maybe opposites can attract with the help of something unexpected. (note: I love this fic. Highschool AU. Also involves music...cuz liek yknow the title)

At the tournament, he befriends the mysterious Alfred- a fellow competitor who is equally determined to win. As he and Alfred grow closer, he begins to question what is more important to him: his family's respect... or Alfred.

Flirting with Failure : Rated T, 2k words, One-shot, Romance/Humor, Complete Alfred just wanted to get one date with Arthur Kirkland before the semester ended. To do that he had to speak with him. Thus, he was set up for failure.

Hero Frequency : Rated T, 12k words, 3 chapters, Romance/Humor, Incomplete America's got the coolest and most awesome band in school, and he's totally going to win the Battle of the Bands contest. Or at least he might, if he can get England to put aside their past issues long enough to play guitar...

The Gentleman and the Hero : Rated T, 57k words, 21 chapters, Romance, Complete World Academy students have been paired up for an anonymous email exchange program, so they can talk to someone about school and personal problems in private. These are the emails of two students nicknamed 'The Gentleman' and 'The Hero'. (note: I also love this. I find it very cute and also very in character. I want an email buddy lol. Highschool AU)

Breathless : Rated T, 35k words, 4 chapters, Angst/Hurt/Comfort, Complete Arthur Kirkland never thought that golden boy Alfred Jones would ever have a reason to attempt suicide. Then again, how much did he really know about the oh so popular blonde? The rumor mill would surely chew him up and spit him out. (note: p sure this is another favorite of mine. Though angsty, I really enjoyed the development between the two. Highschool AU. Really great read!!)

Static : Rated T, 45k words, 9 chapters, Drama/Romance, Incomplete Sequel to Breathless. Arthur always thought that the incident with Alfred's arms would forever be the biggest hurdle their friendship would face. But as the looks change and the touches linger, it becomes frightfully clear that he was dead wrong about that. (note: continues after Breathless, but not finished ): worth the read anyway)

Ask Me Anything : Rated T, 7k words, One-shot, Romance/Humor, Complete Alfred starts to follow Arthur on tumblr. It's not long until they become friends... and possibly more.

The Cost of Affection : Rated M, 61k words, 32 chapters, Angst/Romance, Incomplete Being a whore is easy: all Arthur has to do is spread his legs and take the money. He doesn't have to face his past; nor does he have to deal with love. And for good reason - because when he does fall head-over-heels for someone, he's forced to realize that his sins go beyond prostitution, and that even as he rediscovers himself, his past is coming back to haunt him after all.

You Can’t Take the Sky Away From Me : Rated T, 113k words, 32 chapters, Adventure/Romance, Incomplete Ace pilot America is on a mission for the World Military when a chance encounter with a group of sky-pirates leads him to team up with their captain, England, against a malevolent group that wants to fill the sky with zeppelins. (note: Steampunk AU. This is a really cool fic!)

We’ll Meet Again : Rated M, 43k words, 13 chapters, Romance/Angst, Complete WW2 AU. London pub owner Arthur Kirkland is driven to distraction by loud, brash American fighter pilot Alfred Jones. Unable to stop it, Arthur finds himself falling for Alfred's charms... just as the pilot is preparing to leave for war. (note: a hetalia fandom clASSIC. MUST READ. unfortunately the OG fics were deleted so someone reposted it, giving credit to the OG author George deValier. this will rip ur heart out n tape it poorly back together)

Hard to Get : Rated T, 57k words, 20 chapters, Adventure/Romance, Complete During World War Two, serious, limited Vietnam meets the boisterous America. Amid fighting, friendship, and stress, America tries to get Vietnam to like him, but she won't let that happen. Or will she? (note: One of my all-time favorites, unforgettable. I can never find fics of this pairing, it’s so hard! But this is a really great fic, highly recommend. also after learning more about Vietnam history, i might give this yet ANOTHER re-read with my new perspectives)

Of Broken Promises and the Taste of Freedom : Rated T, 1.4k words, One-shot, Hurt/Comfort/Romance, Complete Vaguely, Vietnam wondered if this was what freedom tasted like. If perhaps, the hot waves that crashed through her body and set her skin on fire was what it was like to know that you are truly free.

Lucky 7 | Steve Harrington x Reader – pt. 4

Thank you guys so much for the support, I had no idea people would actually read this. I know I haven’t written much since joining Tumblr in 2016, but it warms my heart to see people enjoying my writing again! Also, the beginning is inspired by how my dad found out my aunt (R.I.P.) was a lesbian <3

Seven recalls a memory of a middle-aged woman she’d seen, one where the woman had been in the same room as her first love. The sight of another girl confused Seven at first, seeing as she’d always saw a man with a woman, but the scene was just as romantic as the latter. She didn’t think twice about it after, especially when she was suddenly filled with the passion and joy the teenage version of this woman felt as she pressed her lips against the female who sat beside her.

Chapter 4: What’s A Cockblock?

Seven was moved by this newfound love, she’d seen earlier on in the memories that woman had known the other girl for a significant amount of time before they found themselves on that sofa – holding hands as they finally let loose all of the feelings they’d had for one another. However, it was moments later that both Seven and the woman were startled by the sound of a door swinging open.

A teenage boy stood in the doorway, shock written on his features as he watched the two girls scramble away from one another. Seven’s heart raced at the same place as the woman’s, feeling a pit of dread forming in her stomach. However, the boy grinned, bringing his hands up as a sign of surrender before he turned to leave the two alone – promptly shutting the door behind him.

Seven felt that sense of relief once the woman recognized she was accepted.

In addition to slight annoyance from being interrupted.

Steve drove with a frown on his face as Dustin was going on about how he’d intercepted a Russian broadcast – how he was convinced that there was something fishy going on. “The only problem is,” he spoke as he set the radio down. “I don’t know how to speak Russian.” Seven nodded, knowing that she wouldn’t really be of any help either. She was once told to read the mind of someone who spoke a language that was not English, and she couldn’t understand a lick of what the stranger was saying.

Steve had been half listening to the conversation as he continued to sulk, only fulling tuning in when he felt something being pressed into chest. “That’s why I got this.” Steve took the book Dustin shoved into him, the title of it being ‘Russian translations.’ His eyebrows furrowed before he looked back towards the road.

“I could help.” Seven offered, causing Steve to huff. “Don’t feel obligated to let him drag you into this,” He began before Dustin quickly intervened – again. “You should if you don’t want the Russians to take over!” Seven was about to respond before she suddenly heard her name echo in the back of her mind. The argument between the boys picked back up as she went silent, waiting a moment before she heard the call of her name again. She then closed her eyes, and when she opened them, she was surrounded by the void.

Stood before her was El, panicked eyes stared back at her. Immediately, Seven went into protective older sister mode. “What’s wrong? What happened?” She asked, and the teen merely shook her head. “I-I, I don’t know.” She admitted, looking down at her shoes before going back up to meet Seven’s gaze. “But I need you.” And that’s all it took.

“Where are you?” Seven asked. “At Max’s house.” Thankfully, she knew where that was. “I’ll be there soon, don’t move. And be careful.” El nodded, calmed by the notion of her sister coming. And with that, Seven was brought back to Steve’s car, a trail of blood running down from her nose as she heard the panicking voices of Steve and Dustin.

“Sev, hey, Sev, what’s wrong?” Steve continued to prod, Dustin joining in as he shouted “Come to your senses, woman!” Steve turned in his seat to glare at the younger boy. “Hey, don’t yell at her!”

“I’m okay.” She breathed, both of the boys whipped their heads around at the sound. It was then that they noticed the blood, instantly knowing something was wrong. “Are you okay-“ Steve began, but Seven quickly raised a hand to silence him. “I’m sorry, but I need to go to Max’s house.”

Surprised, her date needed a moment to think before Dustin shouted again. “What about the Russians, Seven? The Russians!” She shook her head. “El needs me.” Steve leaned over to get a napkin from his dashboard, handing it to her when he asked, “What did she say?”

Seven thanked him quietly before wiping her nose. “She didn’t really say.” Steve looked to Dustin, who was just as confused as he was, before back at her. “Something big?” She shook her head. “No, No –“ She quickly pulled out an excuse, “Probably just nervous. This is the first time she’s stayed over at a girl friend’s house.” Seven hated to lie, because she knew better than it possibly being a simple issue. But to tell you the truth, she didn’t really believe in the Russian dilemma – plus, she didn’t want Steve to have to worry about her as she goes off to meet Eleven.

“Not to be rude, but I think this situation,” Dustin gestured towards the translation book and radio, “Is kinda more life threatening. Plus, you’re smarter than Steve! It’ll take a hundred times longer without you!” Steve was about to make a quip of his own until he noticed Seven lean in and gaze at the younger boy so intensely that it even caused him to start sweating a little. “El needs me.” She repeated, slower this time to add emphasis. She wasn’t a stubborn person, but when it came to Eleven, not even the sky falling down could stop Seven from running to her.

The boy groaned as he fell back against the seat, knowing he wouldn’t be able to convince her otherwise. Steve was silent for a moment, likely processing this information and trying to find the right response. Before he could possibly offer to go with her, she reached out to hold his hand – only now noticing he had parked his car when she was speaking to Eleven.

Staring him in the eyes, she spoke again. “It’ll be okay. If anything happens, I’ll make sure to get her to let you know.” Steve swallowed his protests, now realizing he couldn’t possibly challenge her when she was looking at him like that. “Okay,” He said softly. “But you promise, right? I’ll drop this Russian shit in a heartbeat if I need to.” Dustin began to object, but the heated look Steve threw at him managed to shut him up.

“Of course.” Seven smiled, and Steve couldn’t help but smile back.

It wasn’t long before they arrived at Max’s home. Before getting out of the BMW, Seven listened as Steve reminded her again that if she needs him, she better not hesitate to let him know. Cause he’ll ‘rough up an asshole’ for her any day. Dustin of course begged her to hurry up and join them in the Russian translations, knowing that he’d just lost his best hope of deciphering the broadcast quickly.

Being the tender-hearted girl she was, Seven agreed. And as she opened the passenger door, she turned and leaned over to quickly peck Steve on the lips before slipping out of the car. She heard a noise of disgust coming from Dustin before she shut the door, not looking back as she marched to the front door of Max’s home. Only once said redhead had invited her in did she finally hear Steve’s car leave the driveway – what a gentleman.

“Thank you.” Max spoke, grasping Seven’s hand as she guided her towards her room. “What’s wrong?” She asked. “It’d be better if El told you.” She replied before opening the door to her room, letting Seven step inside as she soon followed.

Seven then found El sitting on a mattress, face as white as a ghost. She didn’t hesitate to quickly stride over to her younger sister, sitting down and wrapping her arms around her. Eleven returned the gesture, squeezing Seven tightly before looking up at her. “I want you to see.” She said simply, her voice nearly a whisper.

Seven nodded, grasping the rope as she peered into those brown orbs – pulling herself into the darkness like she’s done so many times before. What was different about looking through Eleven’s memories was that she was present to watch along. As the string of light flowed in, El quickly picked out the scenes she wanted her sister to see – and it wasn’t pretty.

First, it was her breaking up with Mike – which greatly surprised Seven but waited to ask her about it until afterwards. Next, she saw El and Max spinning a bottle in the center of a series of words. It looked like the two were playing a game, the first portion that of spying on the boys. After that, they decided it would be funny to see what was going on with Billy – Max’s stepbrother.

Seven had met Billy Hargrove once before, and unfortunately, it wasn’t on good terms. She’d been standing beside Steve and the others, all standing in the parking lot of Hawkins. Seven had taken the bus to go see the kids at their last day of school before the summer started, or maybe because it was the same day as Steve’s graduation. They’d all been laughing around until the sound of a car pulled up beside them. The window rolled down to reveal startlingly blue eyes and a handsome face to boot.

“Good to see you’ve finally picked some better company.” Oh God, his voice was heavenly as he looked directly at Seven. Her face heated up and her nerves were set on fire. Her gaze shifted away from his when he winked at her, not being able to withstand the intensity of it. If she had looked to her left, she would have seen the scowl Steve wore as he stared a Billy, who, smirked devilishly at Steve – quickly catching on that Seven was Steve’s target of interest.

“Come on Max, get in.” The redhead sighed, picking up her skateboard as she went around the car to the passenger’s side. “You can hop in too, if you’d like.” He spoke when Seven settled her gaze back on him, making her anxiety skyrocket to the point where she couldn’t find the words to speak. That’s when Mike spoke for her. “Nah we were all, uh, going out.” He swallowed when Billy shifted his eyes to look at him. “You know, celebrate the uh, start of the summer.” He finished.

“Well, let me know if you ever want a ride.” The blonde smirked at her again. “Maybe when there isn’t a brat to cockblock us, hm?” Max scoffed when he gestured towards her. Seven then quirked a brow. “What’s a cockblock?” Causing Steve to sputter and a few of the kids’ eyes to nearly popped out of their heads. None of them were use to Seven saying such a dirty word.

Billy gave her a questioning look, yet brushed it off before showing off his pearly whites. “Just know I’ll make sure there isn’t one next time.” Winking again, he then rolled the window up and drove a way, leaving the group to revel in awkward silence.

Seven then turned to look at them.

“Can someone please tell me what a cockblock is?”

Seven returned to her work, continuing to watch as Eleven used to void once more to spy on the older male. When she did, she saw something that could only mean bad news –

An image of a girl, one begging for help. And in another scene, she saw Billy, watching as that same girl was suddenly attacked by what could only be a monster. But what Seven really found harrowing was how the male suddenly looked in the same direction as her, as he had Eleven, like he had just caught her spying on him.

Seven gasped as she came to, blood dripping down both her and Eleven’s noses as she regained her breath. “So, what do you think?” Max questioned, she looked just as confused and worried as El who had turned her attention up at Seven.

“I think we need to pay your stepbrother a visit.”

2019: Year In Review

Seeing as how this is the first year that I’ve really written a lot (or anything at all), I thought I’d try out this ‘year in review’ thing.

This year was the first year (ever) that I’d really put my words out into the world. I was honestly terrified to post my first work on Ao3 - what if no one liked it? What if I got hate for it? And worst of all, what if it was terrible?

I’m glad to say that none of that even came close to happening. I’m so lucky to have fumbled my way into the Marvel fandom, specifically the Winterhawk portion of it, because it’s just such a welcoming place. Everyone I’ve met has been so welcoming and uplifting, and I can honestly say that there are a few people (everyone) that come to mind who I hope will be with me for years to come.

Back to fic - At the beginning of this year, I had one fic on Ao3 - a 2018 Kinktober fic. At this very moment, I have 100+ fics with over 380k words between them. I’ve written fic for people, gotten fic from people, and posted stuff just for the hell of it. 2019 was a good year for my wording progress, and I can only hope that 2020 beats it.

Captain Cockblock - a Winterhawk fic in which Steve is constantly cockblocking Bucky and Clint. It was the very first thing I posted in 2019, and I can genuinely say that I was terrified.

Revenge Against Captain Cockblock - the sequel to Captain Cockblock, in which Clint and Bucky (and Sam) get revenge on Steve for the way he kept cockblocking them. First sequel!! I was excited about this one.

Aggressively Progressive - a Stucky fic where Steve tells the press (and other assorted people) exactly what he thinks about the not vaccinating your children (among other things).

How It Should Have Gone - This fic. God, this fic. This was really the first multi-chapter long fic that I had attempted, and I had no idea how it was going to be accepted. It’s set before, during, and after the first Avengers, and in it, Steve attends university, falls in love with Clint and Natasha, and saves the world. It’s canon-adjacent, and I swear this is probably the fic I am most proud of to date.

Steve Rogers: Unapologetic Slut - A 5+1 fic I did as part of the BDBD slutty!Steve challenge. It was definitely a ton of fun to write and as a bonus, it introduced me to the 5+1 trope which I can now say is a favourite of mine.

there is a house in new orleans (they call the rising sun) - A birthday fic for the amazing @kangofu-cb (even though it was late) because she deserves all the nice things, dammit.

i need something to believe in (throw my hands up to the ceiling) - I realized one day, that my best bro @flowerparrish has literally written so much fic for me (check out zir Ameriwinterhawk series, aka, the ‘pornathon verse’ and this Amerihawk sex pollen fic) and yet, somehow, I had not written zir a single thing? This could not stand. So I made my amazing friend choose a whole bunch of prompts from a list, then slammed together a bunch of them into one 68-chapter long fic to be updated as needed.

Events

MCU Kink Bingo Round 3 - Somehow, I am unsurprised that the very first event I joined this year was a kink bingo. A series of 16 works of various ships and kinks.

Clint Barton Bingo - Clint has always been one of my favourite Marvel characters, so as soon as I saw that this bingo was accepting sign-ups, I had to do it. And I did! It resulted in 19 works from the first round (and more to come from the second round) with Clint being paired with various Marvel characters (but mostly Bucky).

Mandatory Fun Day - At this point in the year, I was fully inside the Winterhawk dumpster. The lovely mods over at @mandatoryfunday provide weekly prompts for us Winterhawklings to enjoy, and although I haven’t made a fill for this in a while, I definitely enjoyed the ones I did make and hope to make more in 2020.

Star Spangled Bingo - Yes, another bingo. I think this was my third one, but there were plenty more to come. I had a lot of fun participating in this one!

Bucky Barnes Bingo - Bucky, next to Clint, is another favourite character of mine, and I am so glad that the mods over at @buckybarnesbingo decided to do a second round in 2020. They can count on my sign-up, for sure.

Stucky Bingo - While it’s only got one fic so far, I’m definitely planning on writing more for it. XD

Captain America Reverse Big Bang: A Tail of Two Idiots - This!! This was my first RBB and I was incredibly lucky to be paired with the amazing @astaraiches-oisinn. She created some gorgeous art of Steve and Bucky at a dog park, and somehow I managed to write nearly 31.5k and post it on time! But I could not have done it without her, love you bb <333333

Winterhawk Reverse Big Bang: Main Attraction - holy fuck, y’all. I’d been a massive fan of @kangofu-cb and her words and art for a while at this point, and when I found out that we’d been paired together for the RBB? I’m pretty sure my screech broke windows. She was an absolute joy to work with and I’m glad to say that we’re now friends (we’re friends, right CB? Please let me have this) and she brightens up my day whenever I talk to her.

MCU Rarepairs Bingo - Again, there’s only one fic here but I’ve definitely got some fics planned for it.

Winterhawk Bingo - Alright, look. While I am well aware that I join too many events (no one can stop me) I am also aware that I like to run things. Thus, Winterhawk Bingo was born. It’s been a joy to run and a joy to participate in, and I’ve made even more friends for me to love with this event.

Kinktober 2019 - This was my second year in a row doing Kinktober, but I had way more fun this year because I opened up the prompt list to a bunch of my friends and followers and offered to write them a kink of their choice (or five). Definitely going to be doing it again that way in 2020.

Marvel Bingo: oh, the good ol’ days - This series is absolutely one of my all-time favourite things that I have ever written. It starts off with Clint/Steve, but as the stories progress, Bucky joins the squad for eventual Steve/Bucky/Clint, or my all-time OT3: Ameriwinterhawk. This series has 24 planned fics, with 20 so far completed. I was aiming to blackout my Marvel Bingo card, so let’s see if we can’t hit that goal, shall we?

Winterhawk Wonderland: noticeable - Hawkie’s first gift exchange! I had a super great time participating in this event (run by the lovely mods over at @winterhawkwonderland) and I can’t wait to do it again next year (if they choose to run it again)!

Marvel Trumps Hate - I signed up for my first charity auction! Look forward to those fics in 2020!

Marvel Reverse Big Bang - Technically, posting is in 2020, but the majority of this event took place in 2019, so I’m counting it.

Fics for Events (that I’m particularly proud of)

Lime Blossoms - While technically a fill for Bucky Barnes Bingo, Clint Barton Bingo, MCU Kink Bingo, and Star Spangled Bingo, this fic holds a special place in my heart. It’s very soft, and it also happens to be the fic that I jammed four different bingo squares into.

Whatever You Want - A fill for the Soulbond square of my Bucky Barnes Bingo card. Winterhawk, of course, but with a twist. Clint has two soulmarks, and they end up being Bucky and the Winter Soldier.

Safe - This fic holds is very special to me because in it, Clint is asexual. He has a crush on Bucky but doesn’t know how to go about doing something about it while making his boundaries clear. As an ace person myself who hasn’t always had the best luck with that, this fic was basically me holding up a flashing neon sign going “THIS! THIS IS WHAT I WANT!”

Flags - Another ace fic, but this time with ace!Bucky! Clint helps him as Bucky tries to figure stuff out. It’s basically pure, self-indulgent fluff.

All Bark, All Bite - Ah, yes. Werewolf!Clint and Vampire!Bucky. This is absolutely what kickstarted my obsession with supernatural AU’s, no doubt about it.

i walked with you (once upon a dream) - Another birthday fic! This one was for a friend of mine who isn’t on Tumblr, but she absolutely loves marine life. SO! Of course, I wrote her a 5+1 fic with mer!Bucky and pirate!Clint that somehow turned into 16k words of basically pure fluff.

topsy turvy and upside down - This was a fill for the Mandatory Fun Day prompt “Clint as the Winter Soldier”. God, I had so much fun with this fic and I wrote all 7k of it in like, a day or something, because the words would just not stop flowing.

anything, anything - This. This was written for @flowerparrish as a part of Kinktober, and I honestly have no idea how it became an ace!Steve sex pollen fic, except that it did. I definitely plan to write more ace fics, and more sex pollen fics, and more ace sex pollen fics.

i ain’t proud of my address (in this torn up town) - Affectionately referred to by me as Demon!Clint, this fic will absolutely be updated and completed. At some point. But I give you my word.

That’s all, folks! That sums up my 2019! Well, the fic portion of it anyway. I made so many new friends that I hope stick with me for a long while, I got so many new ideas for fics I plan to write in 2020, and! I learned a few things about myself along the way!

Things to expect from me in 2020:

- Events. So many events. All of the events.

- Fics. SO many. A few for events, a few not.

- I guess you’ll just have to wait and see, won’t you?
