I can't believe staff deleted all of their initial @/postplus blog posts and just pretended that the survey and the encouragement-of-illegal-fanfic-monetization backlash never happened. As if they don't know how their own site works?? As if those now-deleted posts aren't still floating around in 100,000 different reblog chains and even more mocking screenshots?? As if we, the gremlin userbase of this hellsite would ever forget how they initially approached the whole mess???
And yeah, the posts are back now, but the damage is done. We all saw that.

So it turns out Netflix has a 0.5 speed function which is great news for screencapping BUT ALSO it means I slowed down THIS scene and-
friends. pals. esteemed colleagues. fellow angst goblins. I just really think we ought to talk about how
Caitlyn starts to curl protectively around Vi just before Vi shoves them both out of the line of fire
I mean LOOK:
I just think it’s neat.

I'm so frustrated with news media culture
This CBS article showed up in my newsfeed. I normally don't click on articles like these, but I read the headlines. My instinctive response to this headline was "what a tepid, noncommittal response from an uncaring administration." Mainly because that's the mental framework that media & social media has taught me to use.
Then I clicked the article:
What Biden actually said was that these laws are an atrocity (they are). He literally called them "Jim Crow in the 21st Century" (completely true). He made a sweeping condemnation, taking a far stronger stance than the headline implied--stronger than the media has taught me to expect. A much more accurate headline would have been "Biden condemns Georgia election laws" or "Biden calls Georgia election laws an "atrocity"".
As a progressive, I have enough complaints about the Biden administration without media companies purposely trying to mislead me with this shit. Keep in mind the vast majority of people who read the headline will not click on the article. That is just how headlines work. And this is just one of dozens of small but incredibly harmful journalistic practices. Too many U.S. media companies consistently twist words & highlight the wrong information in order to drive wedges between liberal voting blocs while unifying the far right and I am sick of it.
Always read critically, and hold your news sources accountable.

who do we think was dumber:
dooku, who just outright failed at convincing obi-wan to join him to defeat sidious
maul, who succeeded at convincing ahsoka to join him to defeat sidious, then un-succeeded by choosing pretty much the only wrong answer to “what do you want with anakin skywalker”

jawa jedi? jawa jedi
ukti and her master calaetus were both jedi artisans that lived in the old republic era (ukti was born in 3994 BBY, and would end up fighting in the mandalorian wars, her master was born in 4037 BBY and had seen the great sith war, rip both experiences)
ukti was a jawa woman that went contrary to her clans societal expectations for her ,leaving tatooine on a smugglers ship to see the wider galaxy. A few years as a wandering mechanic she got her hands on a device she hadnt seen before. During her failed efforts to pry the curious item open with her tools, she tapped into her sleeping force sensitivity and what turned out to be a jedi holocron activated.
Asking around about her discovery, she was directed to the wandering jedi calaetus , adept of lightsaber and holocrons craft, and he recruited her into the order as his padawan seeing her potential with the force and mechanical skills. ukti was very eager to learn more of her force powers and a hardworking perfectionnist which her more level headed master has to sometimes temper her energetic nature so she doesnt accidentally overwork herself lol
some other things about her :
-standing at 1m20 (WOW) ,ukti is considered taller than the average jawa at 1 meter
-despite the reputation her people have of being easily pushed around by tuskens or settlers, ukti herself is argumentative and hotheaded. It has caused her to get often in trouble in the past when she didnt have the fighting skills to back her up , while as a jedi sentinel she ultimately grew into a fierce practicioner of jar’kai

Consider: Isabela sewing a cactus pincushion for Mirabel as a gift, as recognition of both the emotional support she realized Mirabel had been offering the family (like with the jaguar plushie Mirabel made for Antonio), and recognition of how Mirabel helped Isabela find that free, cactus-y side of herself.
It’s lopsided and lumpy because sewing isn’t Isabela’s strong suit, but she’s trying to be better about showing her weaknesses and imperfections. And sewing IS Mirabel’s strong suit, and she could keep her pins in it as the little cactus needles.
