I think one of the most interesting crack-fic concepts would be a Modern AU where the characters (dead and alive) are all alive sitting by the fireplace reading The Hunger Games books. Imagine having Everlark read about fighting to the death and 3 books of them having a situationship while simultaneously trying to keep the other alive and trying to kill the other (sorry not sorry). And someone (maybe Prim or Haymitch) trying to explain to Katniss that she shouldn't freak out because none of this happened and trying to explain why she can't seem to figure out her feelings. Meanwhile a very much in love Katniss is reading the books and pointing out signs of love for Peeta and being shocked that she thought about dating Gale. Here, have a potential conversation:

Katniss: So you're telling me, that in this world we fight to the death as children with 23 other children?

Prim: Yes

Katniss: And we are fine with that?

Prim: I mean... no, but we didn't do anything. At first, at least.

Katniss: And I survived?

Prim: Yes. And it's not even that shocking. Wait until you hear that Peeta survived too!
