I miss you too. I miss writing :(

But things have been so busy and complicated that I have had no motivation and some anxiety attacks have not helped me. And I still had class yesterday, on a Saturday. At least I was able to take blood pressure, take blood from people's fingers and raise awareness about Yellow September.

I'm trying to write some things little by little, but I'm almost always getting dragged to do something else. 😔

But I'm writing some things that will be posted as soon as I finish them! ;)

But I'm alive and well as far as I can be and I hope you are too! I'll try to answer a few asks and concepts today, while I'm not dragged lol.

Besides her drastic change of size and height, she later grows to become more "calmer" version of Shadow. She's strong and a bit aggressive but she really doesn't feel like fighting most of the time. Even more awkward when around people. Pretty much she has a more noticable personality than when she was tiny

Since I don't have anything specific to ask about, as a fellow writer of a long running fic with lots of ends to tie up who knows what it's like, how about a free "ramble about whatever you'd like that you never got a chance to talk about because it never came up" card?

maybe little details you never got a chance to use but wanted to, or scenes that were intended to go one way but went another, or just interesting little things in the planning process that you just never got an opportunity to tell but would like to. it's self indulgence time!

ok ok ok... hmm. indulgence. let us indulge in our regrets:

after I posted the chapter where Soundwave makes 2938 Cybertron into an emoji... like, almost immediately after I posted it, I thought of something I DIRELY WISHED I had thought of like, 10 minutes previous. Or, better yet, 10 months previously. I hinted somewhere (twitter?) that I had had an idea that I ought to have put in at that time, and might be able to work it further into the story, but now that the end is near, I think I won't be able to do that. so I'll share it with you.

this is what I would've done, if I had thought of it. do you remember the scene where Swerve is showing everyone emojis and then SW reveals his 3D ultimate emoji with the music notes? ok so after that, Swerve woulda been jealous about how good that emoji was, and started an unspoken war with Soundwave of graffiti-ing that emoji in ever harder and harder to reach places. every time SW found the emoji somewhere hard to reach, he would retaliate by graffiti-ing it somewhere else hard to reach. Swerve would've won the unspoken war when he managed to spray paint the emoji on Ultra Magnus's back without being caught...

...until Soundwave did the whole PLANET in the emoji and fucking super won that war. Swerve woulda been BESIDE HIMSELF

and OH MAN I was so mad at myself for thinking of that 10 minutes AFTER posting that planet-emoji chapter adlkfjalsdfk xD damn it. I would've totally seeded that whole emoji war throughout the past 10 or whatever so chapters. so, that is regret #1 for sure

side note: when TEG is done, that will technically be the first draft of the finished story. if I was the type of person to write everything first and then post it, I woulda put in the emoji war. but also if I was the type of person to write everything first and post it, I probably never would've gotten past Enceladia. comments mean a lot :D

regret #2 is that I had Swerve calling the mini portal Brainstorm made "the finger hole" and Perceptor being all disgusted about it, and I fkn forgot to put that in there. the snippet had been sitting in the "actively writing" document for MONTHS and I forgot. dammit

01. The Magician ♤

The Magician symbolizes creativity and self-confidence. You have all the tools and resources you need to help you in your journey. There's not a solution or an obstacle that you cannot counter with your bag of tricks.

I've noticed fictional depiction of tarot card tends to place the hero in the position of The Magician, dependent on their level of skills and/or experience. Shovel Knight isn't some newbie, the guy's obviously had hundreds of adventures and the necessary chops to remain as versatile as he did.

If this had been a straightforward journey starting with Reize's "Fool" card, then Shovel would be the next guy he'd meet, serving as a older, better version of what the boy can become if he learned something from him.

While most of the knights he fights stick with One Gimmick, Shovel Knight lives up to his Indie Super Mario legacy and embodies anything that he can get his grubby hands while combating his foes with his One Gimmick, and that shovel has range (it's a weapon! It's a digging tool! It's a pogo! It's a blocker!)

For a man of shovelry, it's not about the tool he uses, it's how he uses it.

So I'm in France on vacation at the moment and keep invading bookshops even though I haven't read a book in French since I was in High School, whoops.

I wandered into a manga shop, saw these and you can guess what happened next---

The same store actually has vols 3 and 4 in the secondhand section for only €7 and apart from some barely noticable wear to the slip covers they look as good as new, so I grabbed them instead.

I WILL be returning on Tuesday for the final two...AND the manga I had to leave behind fksbdkw
