It was hard to wait until Tenshi day to release my most ambitious piece to date, but I'm glad I did. One, because it gave me time to fix Alec's jaw... and two, because I'm positive Tenshi (@slimysuckers) would have loved this. I've said it before and I'll say it again, she was a pillar of the GoldenEye side of the fandom, and her loss can be especially felt there. No more fics, no more photomanips, no more lovely comments... *sigh*. To be fair, I still feel a twinge whenever I stumble across a kudos, a like, a comment of hers, wherever I find it.

I wish you were here to see how much we love you, Tenshi. But after all, you did say you would be watching from wherever you are, so... cheers~ This one's for you, because you deserve all the bondalec fanart ♥️🐙

Announcement for a special Remembrance

Some of you know Tenshi aka slimysuckers aka Alexis from the last year(s) of the 007 fest.

A member of the team civilian and shipper of 00Q, she was a very much liked and gentle person. Many of you - and others - got to know her as a chat partner for James Bond related subjects, as for private, friendly conversation.

She left earth at the 7th of March and is clearly missed in this Fandom.

So I talked to others at this time (please look here) and I proposed a Tenshi Day for the next 007 fest.

It will be at the 15th of July for us, lots of time to prepare.

We want to cherish her, speak her name, tell anecdotes, make gifs, etc for her. What we are comfortable with.

No one will be forced to anticipate, and no one will be forced to use the 15th. If you want to post something earlier, later, more often, just tag 'tenshiday' and it will get reblogged on the civilian Blog. Of course we can reblog it also on private Blogs. Speak a person's name and they will not die.

I hope I did not overstep with this announcement and wish you all a wonderful 007 fest 2023!

Does Barry's fear-boner get a nickname from Len? It seems only fair, as Len's dick got one in TT. Ok, that probably doesn't fit the tone of this fic as much, but it amuses me.

This fic will have moments of levity, though I feel like more of them will be from Barry’s PoV, and a little self-deprecating.

The nickname probably is/would be “fear-boner” anyway though.

Thank you for your kindness back in November 2021 to someone relatively new to the fandom who read this fic while it posted + experienced you taking delight in effusive comments full of quoted bits.

This fic may be the only one of yours I've read (so far 😉) and yet, because I loved the premise, it touched a tender place inside, and you were so kind to someone you didn't know, it quickly became one of my All Time Faves.

Thank you also for sharing with us what you knew about your life situation when it became clearer to you it had become much more complicated + unfortunately probably fatal. You are not the first person I've met in fandom who is no longer here in fandom or on this Earth. However, you are the first one who had the capacity at the time to publicly share you would step back from fandom and potentially might be leaving us. Your post in February of this year meant those who knew you could directly share gratitude + well wishes. What a generous gift! It also meant when news of your death arrived much too quickly (!!!), it was s l i g h t l y softened by another gift you provided : a peek into a world without you.

Oh dearest @tentacletenshi 🐙, may the best of who you were in this world continue to be lived out in the M A N Y MANY lives you touched, whether we knew you well or not.

In honour of your day I'll re-read this fic before I sleep, enjoying the story + your responses to all comments, and holding lightly the sadness of knowing you will never respond to a comment again in our known future.

When Q moved to a remote beach in Jamaica, he was prepared to deal with oppressively hot weather, unpleasant amounts of sand, and stifling solitude. It would be worth it if it kept him hidden and safe.

What Q wasn’t prepared for, was one of his cats running out his front door and forcing Q to chase him down the beach, all the way to his nearest neighbor. A neighbor bearing fresh caught fish; wearing distractingly tight clothing; with a far too knowing smile, and secrets of his own.

With your recent asks about Barry/Len/Seb, I thought maybe it wouldn't be too out of the blue to ask you about your/ your followers thoughts about the fandom's interest in Allen twincest with Len. I've been considering writing that, but thought maybe the outright twincest, rather than other Earth/ time remnant/ whatever might make it too squicky for many. I know I should write what I want, and not worry about how many ppl will read. But knowing there's interest does help motivation, you know?

Absolutely. 

I think what would make it work in this case is because Sebastian isn’t a real character. I mean, Seb exits in Glee, but he’s not a canon Flash character, so there’s this part of our minds that still would think of it in the same vein as clones or alternative universe versions and give a pass we might not otherwise if they were siblings in canon. 

Does that make sense?

I for one would totally read that, and I think the ColdFlash fandom in general would be up for it.

A reclist of Tenshi's work (and some memories)

It's late here and my whole being demands sleep, but I promised to myself I'd make a reclist of my favourite things @slimysuckers/@tentacletenshi ever made for Tenshi day, so here goes.

As far as photomanips go, there's really one that immediately comes to mind: the hug in camo. I just love it, I can't tell you much more than that.

For fics, however, there are three of them I'd like to mention:

Welcome Home, You're No Longer Alone—I have a funny story about that one. See, I first stumbled upon it way before I joined the Café, knew Tenshi personally, or even shipped any combination of 00Q00... but the art struck me (I mean, it's uh, very striking indeed 🥵). I had to frantically search the whole Bond category on AO3 to find it again (maybe some people from the slack remember it?)... and yeah, I did find it. And you can be sure I'll never forget about it ever again.

Kisses Across Universes—aaaah, good, old-fashioned bondalec (and yet another amazing piece of fanart). If I dedicated my earlier post from today (A Time for Sweetness) to Tenshi, it's because of this fic. Tenshi really loved bondalec, and actually had commissioned the piece of fanart at the end before creating the fic itself. From our talks together, I can show you something she probably never showed the world before—the sketch she provided the artist to explain what she wanted (see below). It's just so sweet... reminds me she had a very extensive collection of bondalec/00Q00 fanart, btw. A real treasure trove I should download from Discord before it disappears forever (you can never be too careful these days).

And last but not least, Good Names Are Forever. I personally think this is her best (of those I read, that is). The premise, the characterisation, the plot, I love everything about it. In fact, now I remember telling her I wish I had enough skill to make a fanart of it. Considering how my art skills have dramatically improved as of late, I might just do it. I wanna bring to life this image I have in my mind: Q stands next to a sitting Alec, his hand on Alec's shoulder, and Alec gives his most Janus stare/smile and says something like "don't f*ck with my son". You'll surely understand reading the fic.

You were so shy, Tenshi... and yet, look at everything you created. Everything you brought other people to create, even. Looking through Discord messages, I see you were saying you've been in the fandom since LiveJournal days, that you've seen GE in theaters, and that basically you've always been there, even when you weren't creating yet. Even though you didn't start writing until 2020, I have the conviction you've always been there indeed. Perhaps I was seeing your name in comments, although I'll probably never know for sure. I'm so sorry you were bullied, you absolutely didn't deserve it. I'm even sorry for scaring you at first, all because of those firm Opinions I used to have. So I'll conclude with this:

I need help re finding an ao3 fic. It may not even be particularly good I don't remember.

All I remember is it had dom!len and sub!barry, it was coldflash for sure. Barry was playing pet/puppy eating on the floor.

It had bladder control elements too and Len kept telling him to wait til after dinner.

MI6 Cafe Creators Tag Game

What work of yours challenged you when you were creating it? Well, I’m new to the fandom & only have one thing I’ve finished and posted in the fandom so far, lol. The first was pretty easy. So, I guess the 5+1 that I’m currently working on. The first four sections of the first draft came pretty easily, but I’ve been stumbling a bit on the fifth.

What is a fanwork you’ve seen which gave you a new headcanon about a character? Hmm... OH. I read a fic where Q loses a bet to Eve and has his nails painted gold, and was a bit obsessed with that visual. I don’t know if it’s exactly a hc, but I think he deserves gold painted fingernails and it would be utterly distracting and tantalizing. I encourage everyone to give him painted nails, as a treat :p

Is there a fanwork that you really want to make, but you haven’t started yet? So the 5+1 is something like 5 times Q unintentionally hurt James by reminding him of Vesper, and one time it was a comfort, but it ended up being from Q’s POV. So, because I’m a little angst gremlin, even though I haven’t finished writing it, I’m already thinking about writing a companion piece that’s from Bond’s POV for 300% more angst lol.

What fanwork of yours surprised you, and how? The first 4 parts of the 5+1 did in how easily they flowed onto the page, and I’m really happy with Q’s voice in it.

What themes/styles/subjects are common across many of your fanworks? Alternatively, what themes/styles/subjects are you most interested in creating? I think if you go all the way back through my fanworks the results are a bit skewed, because I did a lot of prompt writing. But I guess I tend to write pining, getting together, fluff, h/c & angst. I always have happy endings and I do not accept MCD lol. I throw MCD in the trashbin. The things that are born from my brain rather than prompts tend to always centre around angst / h/c. I am generally starving for angst, I really love a good angsty fic with a heap of comfort. I thought you were dying and confessed my love kinda flavour. I thought I lost you/almost lost you and will now never let you go 👌🏻👌🏻

What other fandoms do you create for, if any? I started in Good Omens and still write for it occasionally, I was most prolific in The Witcher and still have a ton of WIP for it that I may or may not ever finish, and I wrote one for Our Flag Means Death, which I have notes for a follow up for, again, if I ever actually write it... I have notes for a LOTR fic that will probably never see the light of day 😅 I also have some original projects, current WIP is MLM with a vampire. I also write poetry.

Is there an artist that you like to listen to while you create? Or one whose work always inspires you? No, I need music without lyrics when I write, or I get too distracted. ADHD, baby! I usually listen to lo-fi music while writing, occasionally something like “peaceful piano.”

Share a fanwork that you’ve found yourself thinking about weeks after reading/seeing it. Ok, again, I’m suuuuper new to the fandom. I read my first 00Q fic maybe a couple weeks ago. Mlle_Heloise’s general universe lives rent-free in my head. I adore their OC Stella. I read most of their fics in a bit of a fugue state, and literally read them back to back over the course of a couple days, so they’re a bit mushed together in my head. So I’ll just go ahead and say all of their works, lol. Then living on the faultline by @thestalwartheart was one of the tastiest angsty fics I’ve read in quite a while!

The pattern I see in these 10 opening lines is kicking-off a story with an interpersonal conflict (someone being told ‘no’; an argument) or a sense of mystery (what is the receptionist staring at? is there a dead body? what’s fueling the nightmares?). My story plots are all built on interpersonal conflict—even if it’s just the push-and-pull of a PWP sex scene—and looking at these lines all together, I’d say I tend to start stories with that dynamic front and center. Neat!

Len/LI of your choice: Bathtub + Stranded on a Desert Island + Florist AU

Coldflash! Well this is an interesting mix. (NO TUB SHALL STUMP ME)

I'm thinking a private plane Barry was on went down on a remote island and he was the only survivor along with an antique clawfoot tub meant to be a wedding gift. Luckily there weren't many on board, he was just the wedding planner for some millionaire (probably Oliver).

Only the island isn't as deserted as he thinks.

Len is a thief who bought the island years ago as his safe haven when he needs to really go to ground. He's not too happy about the attention this could bring to him.

But Barry manages to convince him to let him stay in the cottage instead of marooning him on some desolate area of the island until rescue comes (or just killing him).

Barry is mystified and in awe of the beautiful gardens Len keeps, full of all kinds of flowers. Len enjoys night gardening and growing his own food. He also has a dog, a white husky named Snowball, to keep him company. @slimysuckers

Every few months, his sister or partner brings him supplies and news. He plans to put Barry on the boat when it comes and go back to his secluded life.

But they steadily develop feelings for each other and end up using that tub themselves for an outdoor bath~

It ends with Len finally able to leave the island and attending the wedding with Barry (sans tub, but he supplies flowers for the wedding), however they return to the island eventually for a honeymoon of their own. <3
