Boston, MA; June 18, 2024: MASTERPIECE on PBS has commissioned a 10th season of the beloved mystery series, Grantchester. Stars Robson Green and Rishi Nair will both return as DI Geordie Keating and Reverend Alphy Kottaram, respectively.

Grantchester is one of MASTERPIECE’s longest-running series and has been noted as an “irresistible British mystery-drama” by TV Insider.

Grantchester is a Co-Production of Kudos (a Banijay UK Company) and MASTERPIECE for ITV. It airs on MASTERPIECE on PBS in the U.S. and on ITV1 and ITVX in the U.K. Banijay Rights handles international distribution for the series.

MASTERPIECE Executive Producer Susanne Simpson says, “I couldn’t be happier to recommission Grantchester for a 10th season. This is hands-down one of our most popular series and I know the fans will be thrilled to see it continue with the outstanding Robson Green and Rishi Nair back for more crime-solving.” MASTERPIECE is presented on PBS by GBH Boston.

Writer and Executive Producer Daisy Coulam notes, “This show is a testament to our lovely team – the cast and crew. I’m so grateful and proud that we get to come back together for our tenth season and another glorious summer in Grantchester!”

Emma Kingsman-Llloyd, Executive Producer adds, “We are so delighted by the audience reaction to Grantchester and appreciate that they have enjoyed so many episodes. We are overjoyed to be filming our tenth series and bringing more of Geordie and Alphy’s adventures to the screen.”

In addition to Green and Nair, other returning cast members include Al Weaver as Leonard Finch, Tessa Peake-Jones as Mrs. C, Kacey Ainsworth as Cathy Keating, Oliver Dimsdale as Daniel Marlowe, Nick Brimble as Jack Chapman, Bradley Hall as DC Larry Peters, and Melissa Johns as Miss Scott.

Filming on Season 10 will begin in the UK in July, 2024.

Season 9 is currently airing Sundays at 9/8c through August 4. The series is also available to stream now on the PBS App, PBS.org and the PBS MASTERPIECE Prime Channel.

Lookie here - our favorite Pearl clutcher in Chief was WRONG again (just like when he exclusively told us the Coronation was in June). His speculation caused so much vile comments towards Queen Camilla from “royalists” and fed the “KC3 is too woke” trolls.

Meanwhile since Eden was proved wrong, the Daily Mail has a new article out to drag Camilla for using the ivory sceptre, which will no doubt keep the hate train going.

Camilla will be crowned alongside her husband the King on May 6, during an ancient ceremony at Westminster Abbey featuring deeply symbolic objects representing the royal duties and responsibilities of the sovereign.

It has now emerged that she will hold two sceptres, will court controversy by using one made with ivory.

But despite the Prince's vehement position, Buckingham Palace confirmed on Sunday that the sceptre would be among the regalia used at the coronation.

The ivory sceptre is part of the crown jewels and regalia held in trust by the monarch for the nation.

The crown jewels form part of the Royal Collection and have traditionally been held at the Tower of London which is managed by Historic Royal Palaces.

Kathryn Jones, senior curator of decorative arts, at the Royal Collection Trust, speaking about previous coronation ceremonies, said: 'The Queen is also presented with two sceptres... this is again this symbol of temporal power - so with the cross.

'And the second sceptre, like the King's sceptre, has the dove on the top, (and is) symbolic of equity and mercy.

And this one the wings are folded, rather than spread, it has the same symbolism - so it's the Holy Spirit.'

The original coronation regalia was destroyed by order of parliament after King Charles I was executed after the Civil War, briefly leading to a republic with Oliver Cromwell as the head of state.

The regalia was broken up and melted down into gold coins and the jewels were sold.

The ivory staff which Camilla will use was made in 1685 by Sir Robert Vyner for Queen Mary of Modena, the wife of James II.

She was the first Queen Consort to participate in a coronation ceremony following the restoration of the monarchy in 1660.

Symbolic of the monarch's spiritual power, it is topped with a distinctive enamelled dove with spread wings.

The three-foot-seven-inch-long staff cost £440 in 1661 and is encircled in four places with jewelled colours.

A Buckingham Palace spokeswoman said: 'As with any historical collection of its size, it is to be expected that the Royal Collection includes items that contain ivory as this reflected the taste at the time.'

The use of the sceptre was confirmed as part of an announcement from the palace on the regalia that will feature at the service, including the Sovereign's Ring and St Edward's Crown.

I swear that Richard gets paid to pearl clutch every week. He wouldn't have anything else to say otherwise.

We may need to fetch that man some smelling salts if his belt is on too tight and he faints.

The administration is quite concerned of the lack of claims and seriousness this school is meant to provide. Perhaps it's time to understand what is in store for you, should you continue on this path. Legislation is ever changing, and not knowing what could be on the horizon, it's time to take things seriously. November 16th-19th, participants from the school will be staying at the auction house, spending some time living like an auction house slave.

Unclaimed students aged 25+ will be taken to the auction house at 5am on November 16th, and will stay in groups in cells until the 19th. There will be an itinerary of what to expect listed below. This is NOT a punishment, so 'get out of punishment' cards are not valid.

Groups -

Groups of students will be in a living cell - small, barred, with cots for each person. They are open to the public and buyers will be seen walking through to check out the merchandise. There is small conversations which can happen during this time, but nothing looming or long. On the outside of each cell is a sign with each person's age, gender, and a small list of things they could be used for. All cell mates are naked during the duration of their time at the auction. Cell 2- Veronica Lodge Reggie Mantle Savannah James Matthew Fabray

All other students, under the age of 25, or claimed, will play the roles of buyers at the auction. They will be on the outside of the cells, walking around them, they will also be in attendance to any prep work for those in the cells, any training of them, etc.

Itinerary -

Thursday November 16 6am - 8am: Check in, get settled into cells, showers and inspections, breakfast of protein shakes and oatmeal 9am - 11am: Mandatory Work out time 12pm - 1pm: Protein shake lunch and bread 1pm - 5pm: Stories from current slaves including:

a former Dominant who never thought he wouldn't claim

a former submissive who was forced into an arranged claim that failed

a former Switch who was holding out for a romantic claim

a former submissive who never figured out how to submit

a former Switch who didn't take the system seriously

5pm - 6pm: Protein shake dinner and green salad 6pm - 8pm: Mandatory workout time 8pm: Lights out

Friday November 17 6am - 8am: Wake up, showers and inspections (including becoming hard/wet on demand), breakfast (protein shakes and oatmeal) 9am - 11am: Mandatory work out time 12pm - 1pm: Protein shake lunch and bread 1pm - 5pm: Rigorous physical and mental training - labor, humiliation, etc. Meant to break them down to be prepared for auctions 5pm - 6pm: Protein shake dinner and green salad 6pm - 8pm: Mandatory workout time 8pm: Lights out

Saturday November 18 6am - 8am: Wake up, showers and inspections (including becoming hard/wet on demand), breakfast (protein shakes and oatmeal) 9am - 11am: Mandatory work out time 12pm - 1pm: Protein shake lunch and bread 1pm - 5pm: Mock auctions. All cellmates are put up for auction, displayed and 'auctioned' off to different buyers who would tell them what they would be used for if they were really bought. 5pm - 6pm: Protein shake dinner and green salad 6pm - 8pm: Mandatory workout time 8pm: Lights out

Sunday November 19 6am - 8am: Wake up, showers and inspections (including becoming hard/wet on demand), breakfast (protein shakes and oatmeal) 9am - 11am: Mandatory work out time 12pm - 1pm: Protein shake lunch and bread 1pm: Return to School

Non-slave students will be apart of the auction process, watching and listening to what others would be auctioned off for.

This plot can be very triggering, so if there is a writer who doesn't feel comfortable feeling a part of this, please let us know and we can put you on hiatus during that time. Please note, your character(s) would still be involved.

Any other Triggering plots must be approved by us. This event is meant to be a bit dark, so some things are understandable - physical discipline, verbal degradation, touching, etc. Any severe outcomes (broken bones, assault, etc) needs to be cleared through admins.

POINTS - 25 points for 'displaying' a cell sign about your character - 100 points for a self para about any part of the auctions

Showdown 2k24 Nominations!

alright, redoing this post now that I can give a concrete start date of Monday the 15th of January!

Nominations for the tournament are open up until the start date, and you can submit anyone who could reasonable be considered a companion, either by sending me an ask or by filling out

this form.

If you make your nomination via the form you can also submit some propaganda to go alongside the poll. Anyone who was considered a regular at any point in the last year will automatically be included, as well as anyone who was in the original tournament (+/- a couple I might miss or misremember as being a regular because I don't have old lists anywhere). The exception to this is last years winner, Rose Tyler, she will not be getting a place in the main tournament, however after the final I will run a poll to see if our new winner can beat her. (oh and also maybe I'll leave the TARDIS out but not fully decided yet)

The tournament is going to be run in the same way I did @adventure-showdown, meaning I'll keep companions from different periods of the show and different mediums segregated at first so the nicher ones don't immediately get knocked out, and slowly get mingled together. The exact details are going to depend on just how may characters get included.

Errm yeah, so go wild, nominate whoever you like (as long as they are a companion). If they are from teh TV show they have to be on this list to qualify, and for EU companions I'm going with them needing a TARDIS wiki page, and also I will give them a quick proof read to make sure they pass, the bar is low but it is there

if you want to submit an alternate version of the character sorry but main version only unless you can give a really good reason, eg regenerations of a time lord

The full list of contestents is under the cut and will be updated as nominations come in. Its sorted by medium and then to be alphabetical by first name. if an eu companion exists in multiple mediums i just sort of picked one or I put them under the other category, people who exist in real life are also sorted into their own category. There are some characters under Classic Who/NuWho who were not companions on TV but were in the EU. Companions who's names are in green have had propaganda submitted for them, if they're not in green then they don't, and just because someone has propaganda doesn't mean i wont accept more
