fandom can be awful sometimes so heres a few reminders for my beloved mutuals:

- do whatever you want forever. if its not harming anyone or yourself you are amazing and you should continue doing it if it makes you happy

- ship wars/discourse suck ass. if its not a proship its fine, if someone has a different ship than you or interprets a ship differently you dont have to fight with them.

- your ocs are the best thing on this planet and you should share them

- your oc x canon is so wonderful and lovely and you should share it

- the ocs you created to be family members of other characters are awesome and you should share them

- your headcanons and interpretations of characters are awesome and you should share them

- hit that character with the beam. you know you want to. make them trans, make them gay, make them poc, make them disabled, make them fat, whatever makes you happy

- if someone is mean to you blow them up (hit the block button)

- be nice to others. support their art, their stories, their ocs and headcanons and ships, even if you arent very interested in them. stay curious!! ask about peoples ideas, because most of the time they want to share just as much as you do

- if other people have different interpretations or ideas, you dont have to agree or disagree with them. its okay to appreciate others opinions without telling them that theyre wrong

- if anyones ships/ideas/etc make you too uncomfortable, block them.

- if someone is too annoying to see in the tags, block them.

- if anyone is mean to you, block them. especially hate anons

- write whatever you want always. draw whatever you want always. draw those girls kissing draw that enby covered in blood write about that man going to see the dentist

- draw them as furries, as dragons, as humans, as objects, whatever your heart desires

- your selfship partner loves you always

- people arent always right about characters. sometimes theyre way far from canon, and its not really your place to correct them. if it makes you too uncomfortable block them.

- some people choose to not follow canon. do what you want forever, you are always right about your blorbo. you are not limited to canon or what the fandom depicts the character as

- dont be the one to send anon hate

- its okay to be a hater and a lover. you can hatepost on your blog just as much as you lovepost. just dont main tag it (thats mean) and dont add it onto other peoples posts who like what youre hating on (thats also mean)

- if someone is hating on something you like, its best not to engage with it.

Okay if this is really awful I’ll acknowledge it as a mistake and delete but just kinda wanted to share since it’s relevant, being about me and Data and how I’m developing him right now. Not trying to invite discourse here

So I mentioned the other night I have pretty bad dissociation problems, and they get worse when I’m having a hard time + I’ve been having a hard time for a while and it’s an especially hard week/month at the moment

Im not saying I’m plural. But i will admit with some embarrassment that every so often, I kinda have a scare where I think I might be? Just minor things, but between the dissociation being so bad and my paranoia, I worry, I watch, I research some. I get a little better and I manage to move on without making a big deal about it.

I mentioned the weirdness where I got scared I addressed Data and it felt like he “helped” for a moment.

So that kinda started a scare, and I researched, and for the first time I came across the idea of tulpas or thought forms. Specifically ones that started out accidental are what got me- cause if anything, I feel like that might be what causes my “scares.”

It also resonated with how earlier this year, I had this really intense and quick experience trying to become a follower of this Norse goddess. I had an experience where after talking to Her all day for days, and meditating every night before bed, I managed to channel Her in a way that felt so real I got afraid to interact with Her anymore. Basically frightened myself out of the practice. Now, having read how tulpas are created, the methods were crazy similar to how I was approaching my daily interactions with Her. I don’t know how I feel about the religion or whatever, but I feel like maybe I wasn’t fast-track connecting to an actual Goddess, but maybe my dissociation issues just make it really easy for me to create somewhat autonomous personalities in my head?

Similar thoughts for Data. I don’t think he’s a full-on sentient fictive alter or anything. Like I said, I don’t think I’m plural. But whatever happened in that “scare” earlier this week, I think might have happened because my approach to coping with Selfshipping him includes a lot of things similar to what is involved in that tulpamancy, if that makes sense

On the off chance I have made him some kind of fragment, I did submit him to one of those blogs that help you come up with details to flesh out tulpa fragments. Cause if he did end up real I wouldn’t want him to be stuck some puppet of all the most ideal qualities I could think up of him. I did actually like a good deal of what the blog came up with for him! I had to sift through quite a few to find one that wasn’t radqueer, but even if he’s still just my imagination, as I always intended, I like the realism of the combination of my own headcanons and the external details they came up with. Of course, canon provides external details as well, but like, plot really limits how many of those come up. So like, even though I don’t plan to use it exactly for its intended purpose, the list was very nice, if that makes sense

Thin Ice

(Harassment rule still applies)

- People who tell endos specifically to “fuck off”, it doesn’t bring a nice vibe to your blog (/gen)

- Anti Good Faith Labels (eg. Lesgays), Gender and sexuality is a broad spectrum, and there’s no written rules to what can and can’t be a gender or sexuality. Even if it doesnt make sense to you, it makes sense to the person with the label

- Anything heavy themes of cannibalism, it’s a bit iffy with us, but brief mentions are ok (HABIT has the exception to this, He’ll happily talk about it)

- Stray Kids, this is a bit of a “controversial” one, but this is due to having a bit of a rough history with things related to SKZ, and specifically introjects of such (We are aware that introjects are not their source), so please be kind if we are a bit uncomfortable around you, as we are probably being reminded of some bad things that happened

- Homestuck, we personally haven’t looked too deeply into Homestuck, but we generally just get uncomfortable for whatever reason, this is only a light entry

- Harry Potter, and for 2 reasons, we don’t care about it, and J.K Rowling, so for that, be extra cautious

- ANYTHING Sanrio related, we have had extremely bad experiences related to those who are fans of Sanrio, most of which being extremely toxic people, this is a borderline DNI

I do not believe that fiction is code for reality: I do not believe that what people write, read, or even fantasize about is a 1:1 indicator of what they want in real life.

I have personal limits on what I consume, but I don’t hold them as universal.

Alright, I've calmed the panic attack a little bit, so without needless dramatic words I'll try to ask and explain myself once again.

DO NOT reblog my selfship posts.

Unless it's a tag game or something I reblogged from somewhere - or explicitely write it's safe to reblog - just don't touch them. Askbox, comments - they are yours, if you want to interact. But do not reblog them.

Explaination under cut because long:

The moment you reblog something, I loose control over it. I can't erase it. I can't edit it. It will disappear/be changed in the original source, but the reblogged version will remain in same state as it was in the moment you clicked reblog button. It also is very much likely to slip out of filtering settings. (Tumblr filter option sometimes respects original tags even if content was reblogged - but sometimes not.)

Selfship community is very... specific. Because it's personal and because a lot of people use selfship as a way to deal with various traumas and problems, it's not hard to tiptoe on someone's limit. And because I'm a huge blog - probably the biggest active OP reader insert blog right now but also a big blog in general, I have nearly 3k followers and generate big posting and notes movement - my posts easily pop out in search engine. Including my selfship posts. In addition to that, I selfship with very popular characters. I constantly am in risk in approaching someone who is so territorial of their selfship I might end getting attacked, in more or less open way.

Not to mention tons of people who aren't familiar with selfshipping and assume that it's a free real estate, since it was posted by a reader insert, request based blog.

It already DID HAPPEN to me. An ex mutual of mine was so jealous of my selfship she kept pushing herself in my words. It happened more on private discord server, but it also happened under at least one selfship post here.

There's a reason why I put disclaimers in the beginnings of most of selfship posts. I try to keep people away from it, if for some reason they don't want to see it. Sometimes I make posts that aren't so explicitely selfshipping or I simply forget, because I'm on mobile and want to publish something quickly. It's still tagged as #disaster trio for filtering reasons. It's still easy for me to be edited/deleted, if anyone has problem with it.

The moment you reblog it, it's out there on your blog, easy to be accidentally discovered by other selfshipper. Or a hater. You're exposing me to a danger I'm trying to avoid.

Remember, we are living in fandom reality, where people are harassing and doxxing others for such crimes as stanning a certain character, shipping something, simply doing something that an anti hates. Haven't seen such drastic things happening in selfship community YET, but I've seen this discourse already happening on various selfshipping blogs. Pre ts Zoro is 19yo - currently whole 6 years younger than me. For antis it's enough of proof to mark me as a pedo.

And now imagine what could happen to me, if they used it as an excuse and started harassing me. I went through it in a different fandom, because a bully disliked that I had a different take on her fav character. But then I was a little blog, one that could be easily deleted, where ties could be easily cut. Right now, I'm much easier to be tracked.

Even if I wouldn't be attacked as a pedo, if the info that I selfship was leaked to my personal sphere of internet - to my boss, to my family - I could face very serious consequences. From increasing stress and worsening my mental health to becoming a victim of even bigger abuse. Yes, I am living in abusive household and working my ass off to more or less stand straight, so I can get 2nd job and run away from here.

My mother is not beating me anymore, but she would be absolutely delighted, if she found out the reason why I stack so many figures.

Greetings, It's King Francis Petty here. I'd like to comment that I am a robot, monster, alien, demon, and toon fucker. Anyways, to the reason I'm writing this. What's your opinions on Toon x Human relationships?

First and foremost

Memetic premise aside, I honestly have no particular opinions about it, in the sense that I believe it’s just a relationship dynamic like any other. Then whether it’s a valid or problematic ship depends on the context and on the characters obviously (and on the fact that hopefully it falls within the limits of moral decency), but objectively I don’t think I can give other connotations of value or devaluation to the type of couple itself.

Also, maybe I'm the wrong person to ask this kind of question as basically I'm just a sad corpse minding her business in her lonely crypt, away from the infamous discourse™ and the toxicity of modern fandoms, so I'm not and I don't even want to be part of the problems within these realities because in all honesty I got much bigger problems than wasting time hearing people complain about why one can't smooch the villain of the moment.

It’s also important to point out that I tend to create content for niche characters ignored by the most, and therefore I’ve not really had the opportunity to experience it directly on my skin yet not that I wish for it to happen, but seeing how DT 2016 is evolving, I’m already mentally prepared waking up one morning to find anons insulting me for my selfship with the Phantom Blot 🙂 so this could influence my judgment about it, but still I stand by my words.

To conclude the speech then, since I'm afraid I’ve wandered long enough, I recommend reading these two articles as I believe they’re able to give a broader view and above all in line with the interests of normal people lol of the situation and because personally I find them interesting and useful, especially the first, to understand certain dynamics of the communities with which, willy-nilly, we deal with in everyday life.

So as of right now there's another sprout of discourse of, "Oh give and receive" and "Support small blogs, we matter" Which you do and I do try my best to do just that. If I see you and have the energy I send something. You're always welcome to pop in my inbox too! It's just when I do so, it seems that most aren't really looking to chat (big and small blogs) so I don't want to overstep boundaries! I write letters, spread positivity and do something to cheer others up, and when I reblog an ask meme (because I have energy to give and receive!) I do my best to pop the person a thing (maybe a question, letter, whatever it is) and those who reblog from me something too! I always tag my name and now I even reblog the shit I send back to my blog when they answer so THEY and others can see I interact BUT I RARELY GET ONE THING IN RETURN AND IT'S USUALLY FROM A PERSON WHO I FORMED A FRIENDSHIP THROUGH PM WITH!!

Yes selfshipping is for you, and I stick to that for the most part but when I would like something (even from ONE PERSON) and only get people asking for themselves it makes me wonder why do I bother giving to others?? And I get it some people don't have energy or emotional or mental well being at the moment and just want a pick-me-up but think of the person you reblogged from!! I like making others happy just for the sake of it, I do! But my energies aren't unlimited either and I may not spill my guts on how I am really since I do try to be positve... so to only have people just ask and ask when Im doing all I can for nothing but seemingly brownie points I really can't help but question why I keep doing this?
