category : 米哈游 原神 work title : matchmaker, he’s actually in love with you!
Tumblr media
slam!
the towering doors of the sanctuary shut with force, echoes that reaches every corner of its four walls. nahida, sitting on her makeshift swing, was quick to react. she descends from the swaying contraption, her curiosity piqued by the abrupt return of wanderer.
huh? he’s back early, she mused to herself, her nimble walk quickens, each step punctuated by a skip, as she makes her way towards him. she cannot help but be keen to learn how his evening went.
a fleeting glimpse into his mind had been all it took to ignite her interest. the flowing stream of commentary he provided were nothing short of fascinating.
from the minute she caught wind of your attempt to set him up with a good friend of yours, the young archon had a lucid premonition of how it might unfold — a disaster in the making.
as she approaches him, she wears a smile that conceals her amusement for his situation, covering her knowledge of his plight. she begins with a simple, “how was it?”
his response was immediate and fervent.
he jumps from tangent to tangent, a barrage of complaints and disappointments. he paints a detailed picture of his date, describing her as a ‘bore’ and lamenting the lackluster conversation he made the mistake of engaging. he afforded no adjective in critiquing her.
yet, it was his thoughts about you that intrigued her.
he proceeds to vent; he spoke of the audacity you displayed by assuming he would devote his night to such trivial endeavors, the gall to think he should allocate his time for a nuisance you believed to be a ‘perfect match’ bothered him beyond comprehension.
what were you thinking?
at this instant, she manifests a swing to sit on.
the conversation between them soon develops into a back-and-forth as they delve deeper into the truth of his feelings — or rather, his reluctance to confront them.
“i don’t have feelings for her!” he argues, crossing his arms.
nahida bites her tongue to stop herself from asking why did he sound upset. she was wise enough to know it would only irritate him further. still, she forges ahead, calmly swinging, her voice maintaining a balanced cadence.
“if there’s nothing romantic, then, perhaps there would be no issue if another man were to court her? or if she—”
his reaction was palpable.
wanderer takes a step forward, his indigo eyes narrowing in on her. in that moment, she envisions the formidable figure he must’ve been in his past life as a harbinger; a scene that could undoubtedly be intimidating to mortals.
“what have you heard? is there another man courting her?” he persists in his ramblings, pinpointing a man whom he suspects and going on about your incompatibility, counting every plausible reason it wouldn’t work. his speech appears more like an effort to reassure himself than convince her.
wouldn’t it be easier to accept the truth?
“what is there to accept? there’s nothing to accept. why do you speak as if i’ve fantasized about her! like she haunts my mind?” his rushed words hung heavily in the air, a pregnant pause ensues. he slipped up, and he knows she knew it too.
“don’t even try it, buer.”
he can almost hear her answer: “i didn’t imply it, you did!” and it pushes him further down the rabbit hole.
the young archon watches him struggle to cope with what he felt, wrestling with the reality he had tried to bury underneath a facade of indifference since he first met you. it was a tangle of emotions, especially after long centuries marked by constant betrayal and tragedy. flustered by the whole ordeal, he starts to walk away from her.
“i’m glad to see you’ve come to terms with your feelings. as they say, the truth shall set you free,” she chirps, however, it comes across mocking to his ears.
he scoffs at her.
slam!
then, the doors fall shut once more, sealing the discussion with resounding finality.
nahida shakes her head with a sigh, her smile widening. ah, young love. it was a powerful and unpredictable force, capable of unraveling even the most composed individuals. with a nod, she decides to give destiny a nudge in the right direction, all for the sake of her friend.
Tumblr media
inside the dimly lit atmosphere of hotel debard, lyney found himself in a strange predicament…
perched at the table, he speaks with a minor drawl — a clue to the quantity of alcohol he consumed within the last hour, his elbow rests on the mahogany surface and his head prop wearily in the palm of his hand.
the muted radiance of candlelight cast shadows on his face as he rambles along with a hint of longing and frustration.
across from him sat his date for the evening, a co-worker of yours too, swirling her white wine. her gaze directed at him, as she absorbed his every word and nodded here and there.
the tone of his voice brings a weight of distraught emotions as he went on a melodramatic retelling of his woes, most of it concerns you. he recounts everything; the subtle nuances in your actions, the glances exchanged, and all the personal endearments said.
“i can’t understand why she would do this to me…” he huffs, drawing an involuntary pout to his lips.
“me neither,” she murmurs under her breath, then indulges in a lengthy sip of her wine.
“my sentiments exactly, i’m glad we agree.”
he was not listening in the slightest degree.
the seconds tick away — one by one, it added to the tension in the restaurant.
he didn’t hide the offense seething beneath the surface. the idea of you, the object of his affection, organizing a date with another woman, whom you believe to be his match, for him was infuriating. how dare you! he ponders, he sincerely thought there was a connection with you…
a wave of bitterness streamed inside of him, reflected in the frown creased on his face, yet he remained composed as he can be.
were you oblivious to his advances? or was this an excuse to avoid confrontation, a indirect rejection of his feelings?
after all, lyney had not been sly in his pursuits, he was more than daring.
he left a stem or two of rainbow roses on your doorstep, the existence of morning dew upon its petals suggests its early harvest; he had gone out of his way to help you, his shoulders endure the memory of carrying heavy baskets of fruit picked from your garden; and he walked you to and fro your home and workplace daily.
his devotion had known no bounds…
and this merely scratched the surface!
he stayed up with you on long nights when you had to work additional hours; he slipped your go-to pastries, that he purchased with his own mora, into your tote — a gesture of care, a reminder to take breaks; he had even introduced you to his siblings and invited you to dinners with them.
your company had become so frequent, it was expected, an acceptance of your spot in his life.
he likes you.
he likes you.
he likes you!
he yearns to bellow it from the rooftops, just so you’d grasp the depth and intensity of his feelings. he considers stating it at the outset of every performance, leaving no doubt that what he felt for you was far from a joke.
as he continues to passionately recount, his date’s patience wears thin and thinner by each syllable. sighing, she carries his monologue to a halt.
“are you sure you only ‘like’ her?” her voice had a faint touch of annoyance. he raises a brow, prompting her to clarify her remark. she leans forward, exclaiming:
“just admit it! you’re in LOVE with her!”
her words hover in the enveloping silence, the mutterings of conversation from the neighboring tables eclipsed them. he mulls over her previous question once more, the realization gradually dawning on him. she, visibly exasperated, rolls her eyes. how can he be so clueless?
“be honest, lyney… be honest WITH her,” she urges, “you’re in love with her, and it’s glaringly obvious. i’m shock it took you this long to realize it.”
a pause.
“what if she doesn’t feel the same way? i don’t think a man can recover from such heartache.”
“but she DOES!” she affirms, “you need to tell her how you feel — vocalize it! she’ll reciprocate, i know she will because of the way she tried to charm me into agreeing to this date.”
he thinks about it, he thinks about you, about the moments you shared, and about the true nature of his feelings. should he take the chance? the urge to stand from his seat and find out what awaits if he does overcome him… and yet he quelled it.
he realizes how discourteous it would be of him if he left her alone, subjected to the gossip of the other patrons.
“go after her. i’ll be fine.” she waves him off. “trust me.”
with newfound determination, he left without another word, the echo of his hurried footsteps waning into the cool night. the path ahead was filled with hope as he ran to your home, ran to you, the woman who captured his heart.

Pen and Paper
Requested By: Multiple anonymous users.
CW: Slightly suggestive. It mentions authors writing nsfw fanfic
Note: You all are crazy 💀 I got like seven requests for a part two ever since I posted about character’s writing fanfic about the creator. Most of them were the same so I decided to combine them.
Based off this post, but can be read as a standalone post
Tumblr media
As established in the first part, people enjoy reading fanfics about you. However what we didn’t talk about are the authors of these books.
I think you already know but there are three known authors who write books about you, Yae Miko, Xingqiu, and Albedo.
All of them have their own way of making their writings unique.
Xingqiu writes platonic Creator fan-fiction, some people want to imagine you as their best friend or even as their parent. Having a familial connection to you is what some readers strive to have.
Albedo is the only one including art in his books, kinda like the pov fanarts you’ll see. Only problem with this is Albedo doesn’t make many copies of his books so getting your hand on one is a feat in itself. They go for lots of mora, very few people can afford it and they people who can, hoard them. (Ehem, Ninnguang, Ayato and Pantalone 💀)
Yae runs a publishing house and is the editor for many people’s work. So if anyone has an original idea for a story, it would be her. She is also the one everyone sends their work to so it can be published.
The Archons are a different case. They don’t have to read self-insert stories about you because there are definitely people writing Creator x Archon stories. Some of them are horribly out of character since not many people have interacted with their Archon and only have other writings to go off of. But that doesn’t stop them from getting the books. Ei, Zhongli, and Venti like reading romantic books about you. Nahida doesn’t read fanfics about you often, but when she wants to know more about human nature, she’ll read some about you being her parent.
Now onto what everyone requested. You reading these fanfics.
Like I mention before, once you arrive to Teyvat there not going to try and hide these fanfics from you. They just doesn’t expect you to see them.
But you do. In fact, you read them.
To make matters worse you read them in public. Out loud.
Once the acolytes notice what you’re reading out loud they’re mortified. We’re you punishing them? Or do you find humor in reading these? Many characters are ready to get on their knees and apologize for reading these books, they don’t want you to be disgusted with them or get on your bad side. They’d be so sad!
If the authors of these books caught wind that you’ve read their books, they’ll be slightly embarrassed as well. It feels sacrilegious to think of you in such a manner but can you really blame them?
If you ask them to stop writing, they’ll stop publishing the fanfics… what you don’t know won’t hurt you :)
If you don’t care or even encourage it, then many more people will begin writing fanfics. Mostly with the hopes that you’ll read it. Perhaps if they pour their feelings onto paper you’ll notice how they feel for you?
Albedo would ask if you would model for one of his books. He’s drawn you multiple times but if you’re right in front of him, he knows he can make it more accurate. (Please let him, he’s begging with his eyes)
-
Slight nsfw behind this point, if that’s not your cup of tea, you may take your leave.
-
Of course if fanfics exist, so does nsfw fanfics.
You know how in the bookstores they have adult books wrapped in plastic? Yeah, the nations would also put their own barrier so the wrong audience don’t end up grabbing it.
These are the books they do not want you finding. Just imagine the look on their faces if they see you with one of those books.
Before you descended finding these books were almost impossible, many people weren’t sure what you looked like. All they had were scriptures of what your heavenly form looked like and ancient drawings of you that was hard to get your hands on unless you had some kind of power in the nations.
However once they get to see you with their own eyes…
Yeah they’re horknee 💀🙏
Having you in such a provocative way is something for their wildest imagination, so they will use these books to fill that void.
Dom Creator, Sub Creator… you name it. You can find it.
These books cannot be checked out at any library. No one wants a sticky book returned, have some mercy on your librarian.
I apologize for that sentence above 😭
Anyways, could you imagine finding your favorite of age character reading one of these books? They’ll try to quickly hide it a dark blush on their face as they apologize to you for reading such content.
But what makes them blush even darker is when you offer to recreate whatever they’re reading in real life. They’re stuttering and their bodies are trembling, but they aren’t going to deny such an offer from their dearest Creator.

What if the reader was the child of the creator and had these gorgeous horns until one day, they were being looked after by Raiden, Venti, Nahida, Zhongli and they hear this mixed sounds of rocks breaking and bone snapping suddenly appearing and reader's large and gorgeous horns is suddenly not attached and in their hands while blood drips from their head. Apparently their horns were feeling pretty wobbly and they wanted to pull them to get rid of the feeling because it felt annoying.
PS: this is normal for this to happen, it's like pulling a tooth and a new one grows back.
How would they react to the graces child's horns no longer attached to their head.
OOOHH BOY, ARCHONS BUCKLE YOUR SEATBELTS, YOUR BABYSITTING CAREERS ARE ABOUT TO BE SHOOT THROUGH A BIG ROLLERCOASTER!
Honestly cannot blame them for panicking though—I would honestly do the same if I were in that position—
(Disclaimers: Might be OOC!)
Raiden Ei
The moment she sees the Almighty Creator's child's head bleeding, she is already scolding herself greatly for not being able to protect a child.
And then she sees the horns. That's when her panic begins to really spike up. That is—until she remembers Mikoshi Chiyo—her dear oni friend of bygone times—mention something about how some animals shed their horns during certain times of the year. And how her children have their teeth fall out when they were younger but we don't talk about that-
"Your Younger Grace, let us clean this all up before it becomes more of a mess." She tries to soften her voice towards you, knowing that she is dealing with a) a child and b) the literal descendant of the Almighty Creator. She does not dare to try and be cruel to the child who's parent can literally strike her down faster than lightning and time itself.
She's not exactly the most open nowadays, but she would still try to make herself as approachable as possible, if you two weren't close before.
If you two were? Well, that makes it a lot easier—her concern is easily detected and she's already cleaning up the blood and taking your previous horns somewhere else (probably a place where nobody would begin to panic just at the sight of it).
She won't even speak a single word about this incident after it's over. Ei does not want to look back at this memory and remember just how much of a heart attack she just gained by staring at the Divine One's child.
Venti
This man, hands down, will panic for a good few hours. Probably won't think straight as he thinks he's failed the Almighty Creator.
"Your Younger Grace, quick—let's get that cleaned up now!" Man would probably also yeet your horns away (gently) so that he never has to see it again. Venti is 100% traumatized again.
Would keep an eye on you whenever you touch your head now—this guy is making sure you never repeat the same thing again.
It won't be 'till a LONGG time before he realizes it's like a deer with your horns—but still, it's still pretty traumatic for our wisp boi, let's be hoenst—
Nahida
She would naturally be very upset that you would hurt yourself. However, she's not as panicked—she compares this situation like a deer. Or, actually—she hypothesizes.
Nevertheless, Nahida is still pretty upset you have to bleed because of this. She never wants to see you hurt, ever!
"Your Younger Grace, please let one of my people tend to your head..." She would call in her best medics from her nation to make sure your bleeding stops, before she deals with the horns that you practically tore off.
She will admit, it was very strange to hold the pieces of the Almighty Creator's child's horns as if they were collectible items. So, for the time being, she'll just keep them in a wrapped cloth to hide them.
Every time you do this, Nahida is now extra prepared for your "horn regrowth," as she calls it.
Zhongli
Dude is honestly the least surprised out of them all. I mean—can you blame him? He legit has seen it happen—remember what animal Moon Carver is? Yeah, that's right: a deer. Man's seen the guy shed antlers all the time, honestly.
But what he didn't expect is that you would actually bleed from pulling your horns off. That's what gets this grandpa of an Archon moving.
"Your Grace, allow me to tend to your injuries." Would treat it so seriously you think you were actually injured—you're just sitting there trying to recall how you might have hurt yourself until you realize Zhongli was talking about the horns you pulled off.
Pretty calm about the horns, honestly. Like I said, he's probably seen it one too many times. He'll probably ask the Almighty Creator themself of what he should do with them.
Would also probably educate the other archons so that they could stop having an absolute panic attack each time you decide to make your head bleed (cough looking at you, Venti cough).
And that's it! Everyone's except Ei's is short, but I do hope you like it! See you all around :)
Tumblr media
Ghost Rebel Side Note: Yes, I did do some research with Ei's part—mainly because I don't really know how exactly she would react to a situation like this. I'm taking in terms with the fact that she is also mentally arguing/dealing with the Puppet Shogun, so there is some sort of rationalism behind her actions because of this. And, no, I don't believe Oni are able to shed off their horns, so I just made one of Ei's friends mention something about re-growing horns/teeth lol-

I just finished Furina's Story Quest and I had a hilarious mental image of all the archons fighting over what vision Furina should get. Venti: No, she finally has the freedom she longed for so an Anemo Vision- Zhongli: She abided by the rules of a contract for 500 years, regardless of the personal cost. A Geo Vision is truly the most fitting for-
Ei: An Electro vision would remind her of her perseverance through adversity and-
Nahida: Adversity which granted her great wisdom, and so a Dendro Vision- A sudden burst of light and then Furina's Hydro Vision slowly descends as the Archons trail off. Neuvillette is glaring at them ominously. How dare they think Furina deserved any vision other than Hydro!?

Who is the real Creator?
-TW: cult, yandere, impostor au, mentions of hunt
-Gn reader and darling (please tell me if I mess this up message me and I will fix it)
plot idea (This was inspired by another post but i can't find it ToT):
Reader is friends with Darling. Sometimes Reader helps Darling with dailies, grinding and building the characters.
Somehow reader ends up in Genshin Impact but it's in Darlings world.
Reader is mistaken as an entity that is trying to take over and harm Darling as they have been controlled by Reader before and do not like it.
The Reader is hunted down and shunned it all comes to a stop once Darling descends and stops the hunt. Misunderstandings are cleared and Reader is finally safe from the crazy Acolytes.
All should be fine now except it was the Reader who created Darling's account and gave it to them.
This is part 1, Part 2, part 3, part 4
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Reader wiped the sweat on their forehead with the sleeve of their robe. The Sumeru weather was rather hot this midday as the sun was at its peak. With nothing better to do Reader decided to dust off the front of their house.
It was more akin to the size of a cabin and rather isolated yet Reader loved it as it gave them the privacy and security of four sturdy walls. A place entirely of their own *they could control* and it was far enough they did not have to suffer the company of people.
Reader was rather thankful for the Dendro archon to gift them this place.
After what they have been through it was more than deserved, no?
They did not really know what to think of Nahida. On one hand, she had not tried to kill them or hurt them, she was one of the few people who did listen to their side. On the other hand, she was an archon and Reader's experience with the other was not. . . They had no words to describe it. It was plainly a negative horrible experience that still haunted Reader as they slept at night. Their only solace was that the mess of the events that happened months ago was over and that they were a Free person once again.
It does not help that occasionally the archon would give them an intense blank stare that did not suit her young face. Whenever she stared at them like that Reader wanted to bolt through the nearest exit but the stare was gone as quickly as it came.
Reader continued to dust off the porch collecting the dust and dead leaves on a pile they had left the dustpan inside of the house. Just when they were about to head inside to grab it they saw two familiar figures. There was no doubt that the floating figure and golden hair belonged to the Traveler and Paimon, the latter already giving a wave.
Reader gave a small smile and returned the wave.
"Reader! Long time no see how have you been?" said Paimon.
"Hi Traveller, Hi Paimon sorry you had to come and see this mess, I have been fine hopefully you guys kept out of trouble?"
Paimon answered with a sheepish smile.
The Traveler greeted them and Reader ushered both of them inside the house towards the kitchen and made them sit while they prepared some tea.
"It looks like you settled in nicely Paimon is happy for you Reader."
"Thank you Paimon, yeah it's been really nice here."
Reader put the kettle on the stove and almost forgot how to be a proper host.
"Oh right, I have some leftover cookies! Let me grab that."
"You don't have to overexert yourself Reader," said the Traveler with a gentle smile.
"No- no it's fine I was trying a recipe the other day and I made too much, you guys have to eat it all by the way or else it's rude"
"Well, then we would be bad guests if we don't eat right traveler?"
The traveler did not reply and gave his floating companion a deadpan expression. It was rather amusing to see how to see in real life rather than the game - this is not a game anymore stop that.
Eventually they bought over the cookies and poured the tea. Reader was rather proud of themselves for once. Paimon did not hesitate to dig in and they were rather delighted that their cookies were being enjoyed. The Traveler sipped his tea calmly. Reader smiled and blew on the hot tea before also drinking it.
"I see you have been reading about the history of this world?"
"Yeah it gets rather boring just cleaning here, the Dendro Archon dropped by and gave me some books, she's smart since I don't really know much about this world."
"Yeah! Despite looking so young Nahida is really perceptive and wise, Paimon is kind of jealous."
Aether looked at his companion with a playful look and Reader knew he was about to tease his companion. They tried to hide a smile behind the teacup as they took a sip.
"Ohh! Paimon almost forgot! Darling asked us to deliver a letter!"
Reader's smile tensed a little. Aether's previous playful look was gone and he looked at them with concern. Reader held the teacup more harshly than necessary. It was fine they did not need to be babied. They gave Aether what they hoped was a reassuring smile.
Reader was still confused about how to behave around Darling. That person was their best friend, they had been friends since before Reader could remember and all the way to adulthood sharing an apartment. Yet knowing that the person you trusted the most was behind your suffering, even indirectly? It hurt like shit. Reader could not even meet Darling properly since one of their cursed "acolyte" or whatever the hell they called themselves always trailed behind Darling and Reader refused to be near any of those acolytes who actively tried to kill them before. So both were at an awkward standstill.
Isn't it supposed to be bros before hoes? What the hell Darling.
Paimon gave them the letter and Reader tried to thank them without sounding off.
Looking at the letter Reader wanted to scoff, what were they a 1800s paramour?
They looked at Aether they did not want to be rude and read the letter while they were in a conversation. Reader thought it would be the equivalent of reading chat messages while in front of friends, which was impolite. Aether gave them a smile and a nod, and Reader felt a bit at ease.
They opened the letter.
Huh.
They were a little taken aback by how normal this letter was. Reader looked up and Paimon was looking at them rather curiously but tried to hide it by staring at her tea.
"Darling says they are a bit overwhelmed being the creator and all otherwise they are fine it seems."
"Ohh Paimon would bet it would be super stressful taking the position of the creator like that, Alhaitham was so busy as acting grand sage," she brings a hand to her head mimicking it as if it was heavy, "Paimon imagines there is a lot of paperwork."
Reader laughs, it was nice to hear Paimon light-hearted take.
"Yeah Darling mentions that."
Reader does not mention the worries of their friend(?) in the letter or their stress that is something private between them. Things change yet Darling still confides in them Reader is not sure how to feel about that as they sip their tea.
The rest of the day goes smoothly as they all converse about Paimon and the Traveller's adventures in the newest nation, soon it was time to say goodbye and Reader did it with a smile.
.
.
.
"Come on where did I put it?"
Reader said in a frustrated tone as they barrage through the books on their shelves. They know they had the book somewhere for the class. The professor on that topic was someone who always made snide comments on the failure of students and whatnot and Reader did not want to have to deal with that.
"I hope I did not come at the wrong time?"
"Lord Kusanali! I did not see you there, sorry for the mess."
It felt like deja vu when the Reader said that, remembering the time the Traveler came to visit them.
Nahida smiled and shook her head. From the open door they could see Wanderer standing outside. He looked a bit grumpy then again he usually always looked grumpy, a shame for someone with such a beautiful face.
"Please call me Nahida Reader I like to think we know each other well enough now."
Reader gave Nahida a sheepish smile and wrung their hands together it was a nervous tic.
"Sorry everyone calls you that or well Dendro Archon I did not want to disrespect you I sort of owe you a lot"
"No it is we who owe you a debt -," She looked rather sad, and seeing Reader's expression she changed topic rather quickly, "I came to talk about your recent activities I am very happy to see you being more active and joining classes."
"Ohh, Thank you," Reader paused a bit before answering, "I used to be a student. . . before I came here so it's nice having something familiar."
Nahida looked at Reader with a beam and they continued to talk about the classes Reader took and whatever they taught about officially joining a darshan. As Reader turned around briefly they missed the glossy and contemplative look the Archon gave them.
They finally found their book and with the Archon (and Wanderer) in tow headed towards the Akademiya. Turns out they did not need to find the book the moment the professor saw the tiny Archon he went pale faced and Reader had to hide a smile. Wanderer was not so subtle as he loudly snickered.
.
.
.
It's been so long I hope you are doing okay I do miss you. . .
Reader folded the letter and looked out the window. The night skies here were clear no city lights and pollution that distorted the view. The stars shined without care, Reader felt a sudden chill and headed towards bed covering themselves in the blankets. They still looked out towards the sky.
"Miss. . . I guess I do miss you."
.
.
.
After everything was said and done Reader laid in the bed alone in the infirmary. There was a nurse and a doctor and whenever they came Reader would shake like a flame about to be put out easily by a gust of wind. They could not handle human interaction anymore. Once Darling came they were alone. Darling had cried and Reader had cried before an acolyte Came over and Reader looked at Darling horrified.
Why was Darling with those psychopaths did they not know what they were capable of? They might hurt Darling she needed to get away-
Reader must have gone into hysterics because soon the nurse came and injected them with something.
It was later told to them by the Dendro Archon herself in person that Darling was the creator. The cause of the hunt was because of Darling their childhood best friend.
Reader hugged themself.
Reader asked if they could speak to Darling but the Dendro Archon said the acolytes would have to follow them, they did not trust Reader in this condition.
As if they were not the psychopath who tried to kill an innocent person Reader thought.
Reader did not want to meet Darling if it meant having to meet the acolytes.
Reader was so so tired and just wanted to sleep.
.
.
.
Sumeru's climate was rather weird to Reader who never lived in a tropical climate before. It seemed to rain and while hot at the same time. Reader who grew up in the north much like Snezhnaya's climate was confused as it only rained in the cold autumns rarely do you get rain in summer but they adapted quickly.
Yet something felt off this particular day, they tried to distract themselves by doing dishes. Outside the rain was still going on but Reader noticed how eerily quiet there was no rustling of the winds or a single bird finding shelter in the trees. They quickly wiped their hands and strode towards their desk.
Reading was always a good distraction nothing beat reading while it rained, they remembered how they would sometimes turn on a raining asmr video as they read fanfics. The silly memory brought a smile to their face. But just as they saw down they heard a loud knock. Reader jumped up from their seat.
Their chest felt heavy. Unless it was Nahida, the Traveller or the Wanderer who in the early days delivered groceries to them, no one came to visit them they doubted it was a robber why bother knocking then? Maybe it was someone lost or seeking shelter from the rain both options sucked they did not want to entertain people yet, they wrung their hands together. When someone was in need they could not look away anymore.
They ran towards one of the dressers and bought a spare towel and scurried for the entrance door. With hurried and clumsy motions they opened the door and there-
Was Darling.
Darling looked. . . distraught, they were a mess from the last time they saw each other. Gone was the intricately styled hair and neat robes instead their hair was a mess and their clothes wrinkled. Even their face looked pale and it looked like Darling had not slept in days. Most notable was the lack of acolyte trailing after them, Reader almost expected to hear Zhongli's "I will have order!" followed by a meteorite striking Reader down and their cabin.
"You- Wait are you alright what is going on? Why are you alone? Did something happen?"
Darling still looked distraught and everything seemed really wrong, perhaps they should have been calmer when they asked their questions they did not need two people who were on the verge of panic.
"R-reader I-I," they paused before breathing in, "I bleed red," they said as if that single revelation could destroy them.
"Huh?" Reader replied dumbfounded

Glitch in Irminsul
The creator descends to Teyvat, but the information they know VS the information that Irminsul retains causes the tree of knowledge to glitch out and ‘branches’ the current known state of Teyvat, and the information that was erased blooms into existence once more [Blog tag] [next >]
Notes: SAGAU, Reader is the Creator but no cult shenanigans. there ARE shenanigans of a different kind though. No romantic relationships in this one despite aforementioned shenanigans

“You’re just mad because I’m the Creator’s babygirl, and you’re not.”
You’ve never heard such an absurd sentence in your life, but the hands on his hips and smug expression on the Wanderer’s face is unmistakable. Across from him, just barely restrained by Lord Rukkhadevata hooking her arms under his shoulders, is an apoplectic Scaramouche.
Nobody is entirely sure what happened to Irminsul, yet, but the Tree of Wisdom continues to cheerfully cast its divine light on the scene below without a single care for the chaos it has caused.
“Now now, let’s all settle down for a moment,” Nahida grasps at Wanderer’s sleeves, trying to pull him back from the increasingly tense situation. You can’t help but think of two dogs pulling at the end of their leashes to bark at each other. “I’m sure there is a perfectly logical reason why this is happening.”
You think it might be because of you, considering this all happened when you made your inopportune arrival in Teyvat and accidentally cut your hand on the stem of a Leyline flower, your blood glittering strangely as it was sucked into the plant.
“There’s no way you’re the Creator’s favourite,” Scaramouche sneers, ignoring Nahida in his effort to escape from Rukkhadevata’s grasp. “You’re just a glorified errand-boy for your betters. I have the power of a Fatui Harbinger at my fingertips! Countless soldiers, ready to live and die by my whims!”
“Ha!” Wanderer brushes off Nahida’s attempts to restrain him. He moves her to the side, far more gently than you expected him to, and strides up to where Lord Rukkhadevata is holding Scaramouche. He pokes the Balladeer’s cheek and smirks when he nearly gets his fingertip bit off. “And what has that gotten you so far? You still haven’t gotten to be a true god. On the other hand, I’m on the Creator’s main exploration team, along with the Traveler and other equally powerful Vision wielders. At least I have proof that I’m favoured.”
The light from Irminsul glints off the polished metal of Wanderer’s anemo Vision, and Scaramouche’s frown deepens.
“That doesn’t mean anything. Anyone and their mothers can get a Vision these days.” He waves his hand dismissively as best as he can. “Need I remind you of the Vision Hunt Decree project that I—oh, sorry, I mean you—spearheaded? Those things come a mora a dozen.”
“I think you’re both wrong, clearly the Creator likes me the best!”
The two incarnations turn toward the new voice so quickly you’re nearly afraid their heads might snap off. Picture this: you, sitting sideways across Kabukimono's lap with your arms around his neck in a hug as he rocks the two of you back and forth. You wonder if Kabukimono is aware of the effect his words have on his other selves, but judging by his ‘cat that caught the canary’ expression he most definitely is.
The look Wanderer gives you is nearly scandalized, and you can only shrug at him with a helpless smile.
“Sorry guys… but look at him! Isn’t he just the sweetest thing?” you bring a hand up and pinch Kabukimono’s cheek, causing him to giggle and kick his legs in surprise, nearly dislodging you from your spot.
“He’s kinda pathetic, really.” Scaramouche deadpans, finally having stopped struggling in Rukkhadevata’s hold, and attempts to cross his arms.
“He’s you. You don’t have to like him, but at least be polite.” the Greater Lord scolds, making him yelp by shaking him like a sack of rocks. She then changes to a more matter-of-fact tone as she shakes her hair out of her face, and adds: “If you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all.”
“I agree, let’s talk this over like grown-ups, and get to the bottom of this mystery so we can send you all back home to your correct timelines!” Nahida claps her hands together, interrupting any argument that might break out at Rukkhadevata’s statement. Her smile is starting to look a little strained at the edges and you can’t help but feel a little bad for the tiny god.
“This might be the only correct timeline,” the Traveler mutters, chin resting in their hand where they sit propped up against one of Irminsul’s invisible walls.
“That’s right!” Paimon nods and shakes her finger at Nahida. “We assumed only the Descenders’ memories would remain intact when someone erases themself from Irminsul, but clearly the Creator’s memories still exist too!”
Lord Rukkhadevata drops Scaramouche at last, letting him land on the ground with an annoyed oof, and turns to you consideringly. The taller god glances between you and Irminsul, worrying her bottom lip as she thinks.
“If that were wholly true, then wouldn’t I have reappeared in my last known state, diminished to the form of a child due to having depleted my power?” she wonders. “And for that matter, why have two versions of the Wanderer appeared, when the previous erased timeline only contained the Balladeer?”
The Traveler hums as they begin to think out loud, and your attention shifts to them when they address you. “When we found you, your Grace, you were recently injured by a Leyline blossom, correct?”
You nod in agreement, not bothering to speak as you settle more comfortably into Kabukimono’s arms, the long sleeves of his kimono wrapping over you like a blanket. Whatever mechanism is inside him causes his entire chest to vibrate against the side of your head, as if he’s purring.
“And you did mention that your blood was absorbed into the flower, which we know is an extension of the Tree of Wisdom…”
“I think I can see where you’re going with this, Traveler,” Nahida interrupts. Using her power, she draws two green puzzle pieces in the air and slowly pushes them together until one of them overlaps with the other. “If the Creator’s memories are intact, then it stands to reason that, should their memories somehow be introduced into Irminsul, then the information with the greater priority will overwrite the previous existing information.”
“That still doesn’t explain why there’s three of me.” Wanderer crosses his arms and kicks Scaramouche, who has yet to get up. The Balladeer crosses his own arms, pointedly ignoring his newer incarnation.
“I believe I can answer that, now.” Lord Rukkhadevata jerks her thumb toward the Tree of Wisdom. “Having known Irminsul my entire existence, I can sense that there have been deviations in its growth. Where normally the trunk and branches originate from a single organism, there are now several branches that seem to be… grafted, for lack of a better term, onto the main plant. Likely a result of the Creator’s mishap.”
“So instead of overwriting or restoring knowledge into the correct branches, it just got added on to the side?” Paimon asks, floating closer to the tree before the Traveler grabs her by the back of her cloak and pulls her back before she can accidentally touch any of the sprouts.
Nahida claps excitedly. “Correct! All available information is now running concurrently, meaning that all states of being have been altered to allow the five of us to exist at the same time!”
“Oh!” you exclaim, startling Kabukimono out of his contented state. “Like a glitch in the matrix!”
Seven pairs of eyes turn directly toward you, varying degrees of bemusement on each of their faces. You chuckle a bit and sink further into Kabukimono’s lap out of embarrassment. He dutifully wraps his arms tighter around you, obscuring you with his long sleeves.
“So we’re just going to let you not elaborate on that at all?” Scaramouche drawls, throwing a hand in your direction. “By all means, keep us in suspense. It’s not like we need to know what our situation is or anything.”
“It’s really not that helpful, I promise!” you tell them, muffled by the kimono’s fabric. “It’s just… a figure of speech, I guess? It’s just something we say when something unexplainable happens. It’s based off this story where, like, the world is fake-”
At this, Scaramouche and the Wanderer share a brief glance, unnoticed by the rest.
“- and everything is programmed to be a certain way. So when something unexplainable happens, like if you see a black cat walking past you and then a minute later the exact same cat walks past you again! It’s an error, or a glitch, in the programming of the world.”
Nahida and Rukkhadevata head over to investigate the new growths on Irminsul, discussing what you’ve told them in hushed voices, leaving the Traveler to mitigate the situation with the three puppets. Kabukimono clings to you as Scaramouche attempts to pull you out of his lap, the two of them making you wince as you’re forced to withstand their tug of war.
“No! The Creator is my friend now!” Kabukimono protests. “Stop pulling, you’ll hurt them!”
“Then let go and it won’t hurt them anymore, stupid!”
“Niwa told me you have to be nice to people if you want them to do things for you.”
“I know for a fact your precious Niwa also said I’m allowed to take whatever the hell I want, so give!”
“I really don’t think that’s what he meant by that,” Wanderer interjects, coming between the two of them and forcing them apart. “Besides, does the creator call you guys babygirl? No? Didn’t think so, so I’ll be taking my leave now.”
Taking advantage of their surprise, Wanderer scoops you up and launches into the air, anemo power whirring behind him, putting you both out of reach. You shriek at the sudden movement, holding onto the front of Wanderer’s outfit for dear life.
“What, this again? I’m not sure if you want me to be jealous of you, or pity you.” Scaramouche scowls up at where you two are hovering. He tries to look unaffected but you can see him clenching his fists at his side.
“I still don’t actually know what that’s supposed to mean…” Kabukimono wrings his hands and looks between you and the Traveler, who supplies an explanation for you.
“It’s just a term of endearment from the Creator’s world,” they say. “You wouldn’t believe how often I had to hear it when they were possessing me-”
“Hey, what are you doing?!”
Everyone turns to look at where you and Wanderer are. The puppet is trying not to drop you while also batting away your attempts at removing the outer layer of his outfit.
“Hold still!” you grumble. “I’m just trying to figure out if you can purr, too, but I can’t hear anything over the sound of your anemo ability.”
“What are you talking about?! I don’t purr!”
“I do!”
The four of you turn to Kabukimono as he demonstrates the ability, the mechanisms in him working overtime to produce a loud rumble from his chest. The Traveler and Paimon are particularly impressed, and Kabukimono preens under their attention.
“Cut that out, idiot,” Scaramouche smacks the back of Kabukimono’s head, successfully cutting off the noise. “You’re just going to overheat, and then we’ll be stuck carrying around your powered-down body until you start up again.”
“You know how he does that? Does that mean you can do it too?” Paimon asks, her face scrunched up at the idea of the Balladeer doing anything that could be seen as endearing.
“Absolutely not.”
“We can all do that,” Wanderer says at the same time, earning a betrayed look from Scaramouche. “It’s not purring though. You all remember that we’re puppets, right?”
“Yeah….?” The Traveler nods along with Paimon.
“Well, the prototype machinery inside us is what makes that noise.” Wanderer explains. “We can control the speed and make it as slow or as fast as we want, so making it run extra fast makes it louder. However, it also makes the machinery heat up, and if it gets too hot then the failsafe kicks in and shuts off the entire system.”
“Does that mean the Raiden Shogun can purr, too?” The Traveler wonders out loud, successfully distracting Paimon with the absurdity of that mental image.
“What happens to you if it overheats?” You ask, wondering if you should feel bad for enjoying it when Kabukimono purred.
“It’s like fainting for humans,” Scaramouche adds. “Which is why we don’t do that. Nobody likes having to carry around a useless burden.”
“But it’s not dangerous, is it?”
“No, it’s just a lot of trouble. Same as for humans, but no. No lasting damage.” Wanderer then sighs and makes a face even as he pulls you into a semblance of a hug. “Here, I’ll allow it this time, because it’s you...”
Your eyes widen as Wanderer begins to purr as well, audible even over the sound of his anemo power. With a delighted gasp, you throw your arms around him and listen happily, unaware of the glares Wanderer is receiving from below. The Traveler rolls their eyes when Wanderer points at your back and mouths ‘favourite’ at Scaramouche.
“Wanderer, if you’re done being jealous could you please bring the Creator back down?” Nahida calls, and you peek down to see that she and Lord Rukkhadevata have finished their discussion. They wait below, where Scaramouche and Kabukimono were earlier. The two puppets are now a little bit further away, bickering while the Traveler supervises them.
“I’m jealous?” Wanderer scoffs, hoisting you up so you can rest on his hip as he holds you with one hand, the other used to gesture down at Nahida rudely. “You even dare to imply-”
“Please bring the Creator down.” Rukkhadevata repeats, hands on her hips. “Don’t make me come up there and get you.”
You have to stifle a laugh as Wanderer slowly brings the two of you back down, making sure your feet are firmly on the ground before letting you go. You don’t bother to mention how you notice that Wanderer’s body actually is noticeably warmer after purring. You smooth the wrinkles of your clothes and turn to the two Dendro Archons with a smile.
“You guys give off such mom energy,” you tell them. “So, what’s up? Did you figure out anything else?”
“You forget that I was a queen before I was a god,” Rukkhadevata points out. “I know what it’s like to stymie conflict before it becomes a problem. Diplomatically, of course.”
Nahida nods in agreement. “Of course. And yes, Your Grace, we did come to some conclusions! Though, not all of them are final, mostly regarding Wanderer and his counterparts. There are some hypotheses we will need to investigate before we can say for sure…”
“Still kinda wish you wouldn’t call me that,” you mutter, rubbing the back of your neck. The lofty title is uncomfortable to hear, when you still feel like any ordinary person. “But let’s hear it then. What did you guys come up with?”
“For the most part, exactly the same conclusion that we came to earlier.” Nahida says, drawing in the air with glowing green lines. She draws a tree, and then draws some branches in a different shade. “Your arrival in Teyvat brought a ‘backup’ of knowledge which, when reintroduced to the Leylines, conflicted with the current state of things and instead created additional information that now exists at the same time as the current timeline.”
“That being said,” Rukkhadevata adds her own glowing lines to Nahida’s drawing, in a deeper and more intense green. She circles one branch, and says: “I believe that this timeline’s Dendro Archon remains Lesser Lord Kusanali. Irminsul seems to have resolved this conflict by making it so that my sacrifice to eradicate Forbidden Knowledge was not my life, but rather my godhood.”
“What does that mean for you?” You ask.
“It means that I am now happily retired!” Rukkhadevata exclaims, smiling brightly. “And from what I’ve seen of the information recorded in Irminsul, I have an old friend in Liyue who also recently finds himself with a wealth of spare time. It’s been a few centuries since I last saw him, perhaps I should pay him a visit.”
“Wow, congratulations! I’m sure Zhongli would be glad for the company.” You hug her excitedly, and she returns the gesture with a bright laugh.
“Is that the name he’s going by, now? It would certainly help to have a less recognisable name, I suppose…” Rukkhadevata ponders, and you can hear her humming as she thinks. “Well, if that’s the case, I’ll just use my old name. From now on, please call me Aranyani!”
Nahida joins in on your hug, practically bouncing with excitement, and you pick up the tiny god so she can see you both. “I’m so glad for you, Aranyani! I’ve always wanted to meet you,” she exclaims with a shy smile. “I have so many things I want to ask!”
“And you are always free to share in my knowledge, little sapling,” Aranyani coos, patting Nahida’s head affectionately before you all release each other, letting Nahida back down gently.
“So what are we going to do about those two clowns?” Wanderer says and you jump a little in surprise, forgetting he was still there.
You turn to where the rest of the group is. Kabukimono seems to have finally had enough and is tousling on the floor with Scaramouche. The Traveler is attempting to haul the Balladeer away, while Paimon grabs onto the back of Kabukimono’s veil and is yanking him in the other direction. To a very small degree of effectiveness.
“Both of you, please stop!” Nahida rushes forward, and the two puppets spring apart like the other is on fire.
“He started it!” Kabukimono points at Scaramouche accusingly and the Balladeer moves to grab him again, but is easily stopped by the Traveler pulling him back by grabbing his wrists.
“It doesn’t matter who started it,” you sigh, putting your hands on your hips. You put on a stern face and your best ‘disappointed parent’ voice. “I sort of expected more from you two…”
Kabukimono’s devastated expression is enough for you to drop the pretense. You sigh and open your arms and beckon, and Kabukimono happily throws himself into your hug.
“Fine, fine!” You grumble, patting the top of Kabukimono’s head. “As long as you guys aren’t, like, maiming or seriously injuring each other, I guess it’s okay.”
“Yay!”
That’s about as far as you get before Nahida takes Kabukimono’s hand and leads him away, and begins informing him of the history of the world and catching him up to speed on the current timeline. Wanderer and the Traveler chime in every so often, adding in some details that the archon might have missed. Aranyani seems to have already taken her leave, leaving only you and Scaramouche behind.
You pretend not to notice as the disgruntled ex-Harbinger shuffles closer to you, until he bumps his shoulder against yours.
“Hey,” he begins, clearing his throat awkwardly. “I’ve been meaning to ask, but all these annoying idiots kept interrupting me…”
You wait for a minute, until it’s clear he isn’t going to continue until you say something. “Yes? What’s the matter?”
He exhales through his nose and refuses to make eye contact with you. At the edges of your vision, you can see him fidgeting with the hem of his shirt. “Are you sure it’s okay for me to be here?” he finally spits out. “I mean, clearly I don’t quite fit in with the rest of these happy-go-lucky morons. I can’t imagine you intended for someone like me to show up.”
“Why not?” You blurt out, more out of surprise than anything else. “I like having you here.” It’s clearly the wrong thing to say, as Scaramouche begins to close off again.
“Don't bother lying to me,” he snaps, facing you with the full brunt of his annoyance. He crosses his arms and sneers at you, looking at you down the bridge of his nose. “I’m not some sad, weak little puppet who needs to be coddled by the likes of you. So save your meaningless placations for someone who would actually feel better after hearing them. You’re only wasting your time, and mine.”
“Okay, no lies then,” you nod, and watch as he braces himself for whatever you’ll say next. “I’m glad you’re here, in a world where every part of you can exist at the same time. And I’m glad I can be here with you to remind you that you’re the sum of all your parts, good and bad, and that I do want you to be here, in all your entirety.”
Scaramouche’s face is carefully blank, and you wonder for a second if he somehow shut down without you noticing. You wave a hand in front of his face, watching as his eyes track your palm. You’re about to say something else when you feel a hand come down on your shoulder heavily.
“Simp.” Wanderer states, patting you with a teasing look on his face.
“What?!” You jump away from him with an indignant squawk. “I am not-”
“Absolutely down bad.” The Traveler adds, and you reach clumsily to slap at the two of them. You miss both by miles.
“I can’t believe I taught you guys words from my world and this is how you repay me!”
“Sorry to interrupt, Your Grace!” Nahida looks properly apologetic at the treatment you’re receiving. “We were just discussing what to do with all of the new people. The Traveler has kindly offered to introduce you to their friendly teapot adeptus in order to have a realm created for you, and Wanderer’s incarnations can stay with you in the new realm!”
“That’s perfect!” you say quickly, eager to escape any more teasing from your team. You avoid Scaramouche’s probing gaze and turn your heated face away from him to look at Nahida and the Traveler. “When can we go? Can we go right now?”
The Traveler nods and holds out a thin tab of wood that you recognize as their realm dispatch. It’s strange to see it in person, for some reason you expected it to be bigger than it actually is. The entire thing can fit in the palm of one hand, like a credit card. “We can go as soon as you’re authorized, Your Grace!”
You’re giddy as you take the dispatch into your hands, rubbing the engraved surface with reverence. You feel a strange sensation, like pins and needles, as the magic in the dispatch settles over you. “This is so cool, you guys. I can’t wait to meet Tubby! Do you think she’ll make me a teapot, too, or something else?”
In your excitement you grab onto both the Traveler and Wanderer, silently begging them to come with you. Just as the three of you touch the surface of the teapot, Wanderer turns to Scaramouche with a pointed look and grins.
“Favourite.” He says smugly as he vanishes.

I’ve been so excited for more sumeru content! We were treated with an odd textual mystery but now we’re being fed again! I love this cast so much, so i've broken down my thoughts having finished nahida's birthday event <3
the birthday surprise for nahida is so sweet and so well deserved, and I’m so glad we’re finally get to celebrate it in-game especially after her birthday letter last year
dehya getting inspiration for the birthday surprise by talking to dunyarzard… yeah, I know what you are
candace, my beloved, hangout when? It was really nice to spend some time with her one on one, and to see her being a pro haggler due to her efficiency in being a guardian, enough so that she bested dori? Amazing, capable, practical, I love her
candace’s ancestry is so !?!?! interesting to me, and the fact that her being a descendant of the people of king deshret is something that I would love to see explored in relation to the temple of silence? hoyoverse... i am begging... (also the traveller for once not have access to some mystery power,, its funny to me, candace is the main character here)
cyno seeing hat guy and saying, oh sethos has talked about you, as if cyno hasn’t already technically met hat guy in the Interdarshan championship… no, instead cyno knows him through sethos talking about him, oh……
haikaveh’s first appearance being labelled as ‘suspicious’ because they are having a private conversation in an alley is something that is so… sethos’s voiceline is so relevant here I fear, okay queercoding <333
Alhaitham telling paimon that her jumping to dark conclusions says a lot about her mindset, it’s FUNNY!! But I am making parallels to kaveh’s mindset pre-and-during a parade of providence, I am once again asking for clarification hoyoverse, kaveh second hangout pls
HAIKAVEH FLASHBACK!! Making a record I see, with a flashback in their home in cyno’s second story quest, and now in port ormos, there’s just something so special about getting to see these little fragments into their daily lives together
The line ‘Like I said, that's not it! We have more than just a heartless, transactional relationship... You're overthinking the whole thing!’ is VERY interesting, since we’re given no context as to what this is about until alhaitham’s following line, this reads as kaveh’s perspective on his and alhaitham’s relationship, and I think that’s um interesting(!!) given his previous thoughts on why Alhaitham offered him a place to live!
Sick… I think its sick…. Kaveh yapping to alhaitham about mehrak coming up with wild theories, Alhaitham says that mehrak could feel extorted, and then calls out kaveh being in port ormos and having found him, while he’s supposed to be working,,, as if he hasn’t been ENCOURAGING kaveh the whole time??  Can you say fond!!!
Kaveh wanting to show Alhaitham his proposal, and Alhaitham saying that he thought kaveh is confident in his abilities, is something that is so gentle and supportive
kaveh replying by saying that he does have confidence in his abilities, but he wanted to confirm something with Alhaitham anyway, and then pursuing this further by seeking alhaitham’s opinion on his proposal – it’s so notable on kaveh’s part how much their relationship has progressed, as he now actively seeks Alhaitham out!!
Kaveh wanting to show Alhaitham the plans for the route of the flower carriage, saying he’s glad to have run into him, reminds me of an odd textual mystery where kaveh says he’s been looking for Alhaitham everywhere, and them serendipitously meeting in port ormos is giving ‘the universe is playing tricks on us’, a destined reunion, how can I be normal
Every single time we see haikaveh in canon hoyoverse is insistent in furthering their intimacy, wdym kaveh programmed mehrak to recognise alhaitham’s voice!?!?!?! This scene further establishes how important mehrak is to kaveh, and by kaveh wanting to have mehrak recognise and know Alhaitham as he knows kaveh is something that is so soft I think
Mehrak leaving to go and find coffee beans, okay youre a family we get it, the haikaveh coffee motif is something that is so meaningful to me, I’ll have to make a post about it at some point!
Faruzan showing her ‘true senior’ status to avoid being caught by nahida and scolding kaveh, for him to be :(((??? i love them
kaveh lies about not having the plans, and then uses Alhaitham as a scapegoat - ‘The plans... Oh, I almost forgot! My friend has them! That guy's always causing trouble, hahaha... I'll fetch them in a bit.’ Kaveh’s friend?? His FRIEND?? We have officially come full circle from kaveh denying this association in alhaitham’s character quest! I have MANY thoughts about this!! I’ll share them when I get the chance!
Nahida offering kaveh guidance and advice is something that is so <3333
King deshret and goddess of flowers lore mention!!! Also candace having heard their voices because of the power of the wedjat eye is !! intriguing to say the least, since they seemed to be planning the birthday celebration, just like the cast in the present. cyclical occurrences, oh im sick. The wedjat eye being placed in the custody of the temple of silence makes me hopeful for a future event exploring the temple of silence in more detail (im hanging on by a thread)
The fulfilment of sethos’s and the wanderer’s voiceline about each other. wdym people told sethos to fetch the wanderer because they know that they have a personal relationship?? Sethos saying he knows the wanderer pretty well now, commending him on his achievements, and the wanderer giving in and following sethos to the celebrations because sethos asked?? Sumeru… I know what you are!!!!!
Taking a picture to commemorate the moment of happiness in place of the wedjat eye and nahida saying that experiencing everyone’s kindness and warmth was like being a bird tucked in a nest, contrasting with her motif of a bird locked in a cage, now she is safe and secure? This is so beautiful?
This event was so fun to play through! Seeing characters from other sumeru quests, the exploration of sumeru’s history, and the development of characters and events that could lead to future storylines, I’m so grateful for being fed <3 HAPPY BIRTHDAY NAHIDA!!

anyway, 4.1. SPOILERS, but lets talk about a dragon in the room. a popular consensus i've seen a lot says that traveler's powers are mini-versions of archons of element's region. like anemo's tornado is similar to venti's storm black hole bc it sucks ppl in, for geo you bring the rock down from the skies, kinda like zhongli's meteorite.
but this kinda starts falling apart at electro, bc electro travelers abilities don't look like raiden's. but you can still make a case that part of raiden's kit is energy restoration for other party members and electro traveler has it too, so its eeeeh a stretch but ok. tho energy restoration is just overall electro mechanic but ok ok
where it completely falls apart is dendro. dendro travelers kit is nothing like nahida. dendro traveler has shotgun blast on E and like mushroom spores growing out of the ground on burst, dendro application on limited static spot, while nahida has her radish death mark for all she can get in her selfie. they are not similar neither in function or visuals. you know who does grow grow mushroom spore thingies in set area during fights tho? Apep. Dendro dragon.
Tumblr media
hydro is the strongest case, because we now have a confirmed playable hydro dragon and there is no denying that hydro traveler is a bargain bin neuvillette, the pew-pew water pistol is too unique and similar to his hydro beam. i've seen some leaks of furina kit, i'm not going to spoil anything, but it's nothing close.
and if we look at other elements from this angle, you know who has an actual tornado just like traveler? dvalin. And who both throws rocks from above like geo traveler E AND grows spikes from the ground, like traveler burst? Azhdaha. we never met electro dragon, so we can't compare there, but the pattern i think is obvious. traveler powers mimic not the powers of an archon, but dragons of the element. archon powers just sometimes happen to share similarities, but mostly based on element's theme, like most of anemo shares the grouping trend.
i think traveler is a dragon, who traveled for so long and teyvat changed so much that their memories erased. their backstory is that their kingdom was destroyed by the invaders and they traveled the galaxy with their sibling for thousand of years, which tracks with how teyvat is initially was inhabited by dragons and then first throne invaded, destroyed them and humans ruled. traveler is a descender, but also somehow their sibling is part of this world, according to nahida. abyss sibing talks about "restoring homeland", and ppl take it to mean khaenriah, but we know for sure they're not from khaenriah originally. traveler can manipulate elements without a vision, like dragons do, and from neuvi we now know that "archon's authority" is based on power that was taken from sovereign dragons, which means when traveler resonates with archon statues, they resonate with vestiges of dragon powers. wake up sheeple, travelers are princess and princess of the defeated king of the dragons
EDIT post Act 5 AQ: now that it was revealed that gnosis are made out of remnants of third descender, it means that traveler is probs not actually a dragon, because apparently all Descenders have natural ability to absorb elemental powers. Which is interesting, bc like why?? Or maybe not all descenders, bc primordial one is descender too. If any descender could absorb dragon powers, then why gnosis is made out of specifically third descender? is it just bc they had his corpse sdfghj?? anyway, interesting.

There the dendro archon sits on the floor reading every document she can find pertaining to the life of the creator; sleep threatens to overtake her for she has been at this for hours but she is determined to at least find something that could aid her and the other archons
Her small hands rubbing the weariness from her eyes she picked up another scroll and began to read it, the document seemed to be useless like the previous ones until her eyes came upon an interesting sentence
“I once saw the creator with a chest pin during their battle with the adversary from another land.”
All tiredness left the little archon’s body. The brooch was seen by at least someone and “adversary from another land?” could this person be talking about a descender? If that’s the case then why would a descender come to Teyvat to fight their Grace?
She looked to see who wrote this manuscript, John Dee. She heard that name before, quickly skimming through the scrolls, tablets, and books she found the researcher’s name. An astrologer, alchemist, and occultist from over 4000 years ago. With newfound vigor Nahida thoroughly read the each of his manuscripts he wrote throughout his life and found that the brooch fascinated him
“Could this chest pin have gave their Holiness their power?”
“During the battle I saw 4 stones in the chest pin, one was yellow, the other was purple, the third was red, and the last one was white. They all shine with a brilliance that no precious stone on Teyvat could.”
“Perhaps the pin could be a way for their Holiness to connect to Teyvat? Or maybe the gods to be connected to humans?”
“Upon further reflection the chest pin could be a source of their powers.”
“The brooch could be a source of their Grace’s powers?” Mumbled the little archon
That can’t be, can it… the all powerful creator needing to rely on external power and not having it within them?
Picking up another book by the same man Nahida quickly read through the pages until she stopped at an interesting excerpt
“Oceanids are known to segment themselves into mimics. Perhaps the same could be said with their Holiness, segementing themselves into 4 different beings?”
Thinking back on her first encounter with the brooch, the small god did feel 4 different auras but they felt similar to each other, all felt similar to your presence whenever you would use her as a vessel
Whatever the case may be, all that Nahida knows is that once the gems are put into the brooch many answers will be revealed
Tumblr media
On the other side of Teyvat there you are letting Aether write a letter for the Tsarita and her Harbingers
“My sword training have been going well, I’ve been told that I’m making excellent progress. Also thanks to the Cavalry Captain and the twins they have helped me in controlling my cryo powers, however they still need a lot more work. The ship heading to Fontaine is coming soon so I and the others will have to get ready to depart. Sincerely yours, (Y/n).” You finished
Aether puts the pen down on to the desk and you opened the window and called for a bird. After a few exchanges the bird took the rolled up letter and flew off into the horizon. After you closed the window and drew back the curtains you turned towards the blond
“Your Grace, the spell that I put on you is about to wear off.”
It took you a couple of moments to remember the spell that hides your divine presence from anyone and especially your doppelgänger, you didn’t realize how long it has been and to be honest really impressed at the duration of the spell
“Okay, do what you need to do.” You said standing in front of the prince
Aether’s hand began to glow in the deep blues and purples of the abyss, he brought his hand to your head and instantly you feel something covering your entire body in manner similar to a blanket. After Aether brought his hand down from your head you looked at your hand to see the cool colors slowly fade away, you turned towards the twin
“How long does this spell last?” You asked
“It only lasts for a about a couple of weeks, I would saw at most 3 weeks.” Aether replied
“Is there a way for me to learn the spell so I don’t have to bother you every time the spell is about to wear off.”
“Oh, you can never bother me, your Grace. And I like doing it for you.” You saw a subtle blush creep on the young prince’s features
He’s so babygirl!
You almost hugged him but was stopped when your attention was diverted towards the door opening. There you see Diluc in the doorframe
“Your Grace, the ship is almost here. Let’s get you settled in your crates.”
You and Aether followed the redhead down to the cellar, there you see Lumine, Paimon, Childe, and Kaeya waiting for you. You also see 4 crates, all have cushioning. Diluc leads you to one that has the most padding
“Here is your crate, your Grace.” Diluc lead you to a crate that had a lot of cushioning
“Hey, why does my crate have less padding than theirs?” Childe asked leaning in to take a look at his crate which does have a lot less padding compared to yours even less than the twins
“I ran out of padding, Harbinger.” Diluc hissed out
“Diluc, don’t be like that!” You scolded the redhead before turning towards the ginger. “My crate has a lot of padding, I’ll give you some of mine.” You said, but before you can take some of the cushioning out you hear Diluc clear his throat
“I just remembered there might be some more upstairs!” Diluc urged before he went up the steps
You heard Kaeya chuckle and you turned your head towards the Cavalry Captain
“Sorry about my brother, he has a rocky history with your organization.” He opened his good eye and looked at the harbinger. “I don’t blame him, considering what happened with-”
“Kaeya!” You warned the blue haired man. “I don’t have to tell you to be civil with each other!”
Kaeya raised up his hands in defeat. “I understand, your Grace.”
Diluc finally comes down with cushioning that doesn’t look has pristine as the cushions in yours and the twins crates
“Good the both of you are here. So I don’t have to repeat myself, we all have a common goal in defeating the imposter. If we bicker about past grievances we will get nowhere and worse my doppelgänger might get their hands on me.” You advised
“You’re right, your Grace. I will do my best to be as civil with these people.” Diluc said, his disgust evident on his face, but you take what you can
You look at Kaeya to see him nodding in agreement with his brother
“Bwah, it’s so scary that their Grace can be super intimidating on a whim.” Paimon said as she hid behind Lumine
“I don’t mean to scary, I just don’t want infighting!”
“Their Grace is right, we all have an enemy that has all of Teyvat and the archons under their control. If we lose focus then we risk the possibility of that imposter capturing their Grace again!” Lumine said as she crossed her arms
Childe walks towards his crate before turning towards Diluc. “If you’re still raw about what happened, we can fight after all this blows over.” Childe said and then he entered his crate with the new cushioning in it
You and the twins enter your crates and you watch as Diluc secured the top to your crate, leaving you in total darkness
“Safe travels your Grace.” Diluc said

Okay so I’m back for another SAGAU request if you don’t mind..😊 Basically another situation where the Creator descends to Teyvat blah blah blah… But instead- they came back as a child?! The Archons and others found this weird at first, but tried to adjust to this. But the thing about (Reader) is that they aren’t from our world, they’re from a world where monsters and such exist, and they kill those monsters even at their young age. (Reader) was confused at first, and tried to get used to it, but was pretty excited when they found out monsters and such existed, as they excitedly liked to run off and kill monsters while some Archons will be chasing after them telling them to slow down. Though one thing about (Reader) is they judge everyone. And one thing they’re most confused about is people’s physics, like the characters that are extremely strong and fight. (Reader) always comes up to certain characters and asks “Why are you so scrawny? Where are your muscles? Don’t you train?” (Yes this was one of the first thoughts I had thought of when I saw certain characters in Genshin Impact🥲) Like for characters like Wanderer, Xiao, Diluc, Zhongli and even other female characters as well! (Reader) would even ask them to eat with them, because they worried that they needed more protein to become stronger and build more muscle. Though I’m not even sure if muscle = strength in Genshin Impact in general. Some characters were shocked to say the least when they saw (Reader) a child in like a T-shirt, and they have like the most muscley arms😭Or they ask questions like how EI can pull a sword from her boobs.
And every character since their weapons somehow magically appear and disappear, which (Reader) was fascinated with since their weapons have to be on their body, because they can’t summon weapons.
Hope this request isn’t too wierd!
-🍉 Anon
Ok 🍉 Anon, let's start with the Archons. I'll be using the characters you mentioned because this is fucking awesome.
"Why are you so scrawny? Where are your muscles? Don’t you train?"
Venti
He just stares at you
Then laughs
He explains that as a bard, he doesn't need to have muscles or train
He enjoys the starry eyed look you get whenever his weapon just appears and disappears
Your monster killing makes him very worried
Everything you get somewhat close to a monster, Venti will lead you away until someone else kills it
But he is also very proud of your strength
Will try and teach you how to summon weapons, with no luck
Zhongli
Old man chuckle
Doesn't take the question seriously
He'll just pat your head and tell you it's his secret
Whenever his spear appears and disappears he also loves the starry eyed look you get
Your monster killing will be the reason he dies of a heart attack
Please child, don't kill the old man
He treats you like his own grandchild
Would have Xiao train you if you went so young
Says he'll teach you how to summon weapons when you're older
Ei
She turns the question on you
She then make you train with her
Your monster killing both frightens her, because she doesn't want you to die but on the other hand it's impressive
Face goes red when you ask about her boob sword
Tells you it's an Archon power
If you ask why you can't do that, she'll just say go ask your mother Yae Miko
Has Sara train you sometimes
Has tried and failed to help you summon a weapon
Nahida
Laughs
She doesn't see the point of muscles without brains, plus she is young, ever for an archon
You're both similar age
Would summon her weapon just to see the stars in your eyes
She thought you two had a similar personality, until you killed a hilichurl that was gonna attack you both
In shock
Told her friends all about and now your Sumeru aunties and uncles were fussing over you
Will help you find someone to teach you weapon summoning
Furina
She says something about not needing muscles
Get a self esteem boost whenever you look at her weapon in wonder
She thinks you both don't need to have muscles because you have powers
The first time she sees you kill a monster, she stares in silent horror befoe telling Neuvillette what you did
Now, you have two powerful beings who are overprotective of you
Will definitely try to teach you weapon summoning
Wanderer
Gives you a look of indignation
Just says it's none of you business
Gets smug af whenever you get excited about his weapon summoning
He doesn't want to tell you that he's a puppet
First time he sees you killing a monster, he smiles
Proud that you're so strong and will train you just to spite Ei
Will get frustrated that you can't summon weapons, even when you train with him
Xiao
He doesn't answer, he has no idea himself
I think it's because his adepti form is a finch
When it comes to your monster killing outside: 😐 but on the inside: 😨
Treffied of you getting karmic debt and that you would get hurt because of it
He is horrified at your monster killing
He sees you as a sister sometimes and well, we know he has trauma
He gets a small smile when you look on in awe at his spear summoning
Will train you in order to protect yourself
Diluc
Asks how you know
To be honest, he could have muscle because he swigs that damn claymore around
Is protective of you because to him you're, small bean
When he sees you kill a monster, he world is shattered
Will get mad and will make you promise him to stop killing monsters
When he finds you breaking that promise, he sighs and gets mad
When you look up in awe at his weapon, he feels a bit happy
If you ask, more like beg, him to try and teach you weapon summoning he'll give in and try

The Gem That Was Mistaken As A Mere Stone
Short Sagau Series Part 2
Characters: Nahida, Nilou, Wanderer
____________________________
The Dendro Archon, Lesser Lord Kusanali who was against the idea of hunting down the 'Imposter'. She thinks it's unnecessary and as far as she analysed, the copy hasn't done anything to offend anyone in the slightest
It confuses her on why do they want to kill someone who just looks the same as the Creator, hell they didn't even claim to be the Creator either. This entire thing didn't sit right with her, even if the traveler already did freed her from the Akademiya. She felt pity because she can somehow almsot relate to the person being hunted down.
The Aranara surrounds you, holding multiple flower crown for you. Your smile is the most beautiful thing that mankind has longed to see, Nilou admires you as other Aranara decorated her hair too. Her eyes softens to the cute creatures that surrounds you, 'They all act like they're Her Majesty's children..' Nilou couldn't stop herself from giggling.
_____________________________
Nahida entered someone's dream but it was more like someone's consciousness. She looked around, hearing a soft sob. Walking near to the sound, she found herself standing in front of a winged androgynous soul. They were so ethereal, even their cries sounded like a melody. The garden that surrounds them act like a shield between the two, while she was only standing on a white plane, the ethereal being was sitting down on green grasses and bushes of flowers surrounds them.
"Hello? Are you alright?" Nahida voiced her concern, how could such beautiful being be this sad. The ethereal figure turn their head but their eyes gradually soften.
"Hello little one, how have you come here?" your voice was still sore but it's still gentle. Nahida was at first confused to the 'little one' title but brushes it off as it doesn't mind her. She was curious at what you are, you seems to act like you already knew her for a long time. The bushes moves so that she can enter your consciousness fully, 'I see this is a safe haven for them'
"Tell me, little Nahida. What have you come to seek me for?" her eyes widens at the fact that you already knew her name when she didn't even know yours yet. "How did you know my name?" she questions, she's not scared just piqued. She sees how plane brightens, "Hmm, let's see. Your record in Irminsul is a tad bit blurred but I can still see who you are, little one."
For someone who is able to see into Irminsul itself is enough to make her connect the dots on who you are. "My Creator!" her eyes lit up. You nod but corrected her "Descendant of Your Creator." Thus, you told her about the story of the beginning.
_______________________
Eons ago, a god who was born from nothingness. They who created the world before Teyvat. This world was filled with all their creations, Unique and Beautiful. They love their creations equal to one another,
"For I have created this world to admire my creations, I shall love and cherish every one of my beings"
Teyvat is the gift for their creations to thrive in, The Creator gave Teyvat it's own sentient mind. As it's order for the land,
"I shall order you, to protect my people. My wondrous creations that includes you my dearest Teyvat.
I bestow you with this gift, until the day my creations turns against me. May you protect my vessels from such calamity."
They foresaw of what will happen to them, another being that wasn't their own came and took everything away. Killing the All-Creator who was vulnerable to protect their people from getting corrupted, in a last attempt to still guide their creations.
They made a being that resembles them, calling them The All-Creator's Descendant. Giving all their memories and parts of their divine form into the newly made body. The body was at first was a human but once they step foot onto the land they had created, the heavenly form of the Creator shall slowly awaken.
Descendant can be in any universe, the memories that lies dormant and locked in their mind shall one day be unsealed. As their soul blend together once again with The All-Creator's divine being.
___________________________
To learn the truth of the All-Creator, Nahida came to conclusion that the Descendant are partly a vessel. She soon realised that when the Imposter Hunt Decree was established, the Creator was hunted down. Just because the one on the throne had ordered them to.
Nahida looks sadly at you, her eyes were filled with tears. "Oh little one, I'm sorry that story was too much for you." You pulled her to your chest, comforting her like a small child. "No... no that wasn't it.. I'm crying because.. the people have hurted you so much and they are too blind.. to see that you're already in front of them." she sniffles in between her words, shushing her softly and gently.
"It's alright now my dearest, I do not resent any of them. Though only one, the one who falsely wearing my face to gain their own greed." your voice was still gentle even when in anger. "My Creator what shall I do to find you?" she questions you with her green eyes. "Go with the Aranara, they shall guide you to me."
The Balladeer isn't someone who will ever believe in a god, when his own had abandoned him in this cruel world a long time ago. He loath the tears that will leaves his eyes, hates the way how 'human' he is. He couldn't comprehend on how he had such empathy, he deemed it as worthless for he is a puppet for a god or a gnosis to rely in. why can't he have such a thing...
"My precious creation, why must you be sad.." a gentle warm hands wiped his tears away, his eyes widens.
In this plane of pale blue consciousness, he knew it was his. He gazed to the figure that holds him, 'Creation? Am I.. Sad?' his inner self questions. It was so conflicting that his eyes were in frenzy, he didn't even realize himselves that there were tears once again falling down his eyes but this time it was like a waterfall.
It was all too much, he couldn't take it anymore. His unknown heart breaking into pieces for the 4th time, this time there wasn't a betrayal. Just Kunikuzushi trying to reach out to the Balladeer, to not shut him out again.
His hics and sniffles was so raw that he felt weak like a newborn baby. the hands gently let him sit, a soft hum to calm his ever racing mind. Until he's finally aware of the being in front of him, he was cradled in their lap. "Little one, have you found yourselves yet?" he was a bit frantic at the presence. Quickly standing up and away from them.. "Who... Who are you?" he wanted to yell but he couldn't due to the soreness of his throat from crying.
"I am your creator, my dear." You looked at him, sad at what had happened to him. "Don't play with me! My creator, my own mother had already abandoned me long time ago!"
"Even if you're my creator, why did You abandoned me!?" He screamed. His eyes were filled with loathing and anger, a hint of sadness and betrayal along with it.. "I never abandoned you Kunikuzushi, do you remember the seelie that accompanied you. When you were abandoned by Beelzebul, until now when you are sleeping."
Yes he does remember, how could he not.. The seelie that always left stars whemever it flies beside him, whenever it fret over the fact that if he had fainted or just sleeping, the seelie that share it's warmth with him when he got betrayed and the moments where it always seems to care for him more than any other he had met. Was it you, all along?
You smile softly at him "I never once abandoned you, even if the one on the throne that everybody worships didn't even glance at you the slightest. I can never abandon you.. For you are my beloved creation."
All this time he had thought that he was alone, with only the star seelie that never once left his side. He thought.. He was never enough to be recognised, wanting to earn favour and burn the anyone who dares to defy him. Even when the skies were fake, he never thought that it was you. He looks down, "Why did the betrayals always happened to me..?"
"You simply don't know what is mortality all about, how fragile they are even so some glasses can be harder to break at some point.
Beslzebul left you because you reminded her of her sister Makoto, 'Baal' the one who she had lost a long time ago. She was a gentle ruler, she couldn't fight unlike Ei. Yet, she is the brain of the twin while Ei was the brawn. They complete each other. Their eternity was different, Makoto leans toward the humans more understanding the concept of mortality.
Even when she didn't realise it, she couldn't lie to her feelings. She saw Makoto in you, little one."
His tears are now overflowing, he hugs you tightly unexpectedly. Crying into your chest with a broken sob, you comfort him with letting him cry in his own plane of consciousness. Humming softly in order to remind him that he's not alone to bear the suffering.
"One day, you shall be granted to have your own name, one where you shall call it your own and cherish it." The warmth that filled his unknown heart comforted him so much, for how long he longed to feel this way again. Cared for and treasured, he's grateful to finally call you His God.
He awoken with a gentle nudge from the seelie, somehow he felt a beating in his chest. The seelie guided his hand to feel the soft thump in his chest, it was a heart. His Heart...
How kind were you to grant him with such gift..

Bring Back What Once Was Mine
Chapter Summary: You concoct a plan to confront the Imposter and the truth is revealed
Characters Mentioned: Multiple Characters Mentioned
Content Warning: Cult and Religious themes ahead! You've been warned.
Reader is the true creator of Teyvat. GN! Reader
Part Five Part Six (You are here!) Part Seven
We got some OOC harbingers but they’re basically obsessed with you so 🗿
Tumblr media
Present Day, Sumeru City
Slowly, the Imposter reached up with a trembling hand. They were displeased to find a bead of sweat swipe at their brow. Anxiety and paranoia overwhelmed them.
They couldn’t shake the feeling that what the Traveler had told them wasn’t the truth. If the Creator had died like Lumine said they did, Teyvat clearly would’ve been devastated.
They leaned back in their throne. A breathy sigh left them and they sank further into their seat. A dark aura filled the throne room. ďżź Since they had descended to Teyvat they knew who they were supposed to be. A mere placeholder, and if they ever stood next to the real deal, they would never compare. All of their actions were dictated by another. The imposter looked to their limbs almost expecting to find strings attached.
“Your Grace…”
“Did you find them?”
They couldn’t shake this feeling of paranoia. It festered, and grew until their suspicions forbade them to do nothing but seek confirmation to ease their worries. They had sent a guard to fetch the body of the real Creator.
“No, I didn’t manage to find them…”
They curl their hand into a fist, “are you really that incompetent that you cannot follow basic instructions? It’s been days, what do you mean you cannot find them?”
The guard falls onto his knees lacing his hands together, “Your Grace, please let me explain… I don’t think the person you’re looking for is dead.”
The Imposter tilts their head to the side at a unnatural angle, “what do you mean, explain yourself.”
The guard lets out a shaky breath staring up at them, “while I was searching I overheard someone in one of the villages talking about how some mysterious person with odd clothing gave them a flower that healed their little sibling. Could that be the person you’re looking for?”
The Imposter pinches the bridge of their nose, “how long have you known this?”
“I found this out yesterday morning, Your Grace.”
“And you’re just now telling me this?” They jump up from the throne as their voice raises, “they could be anywhere in Teyvat by now!”
“Please forgive me! I wanted to be absolutely sure before reporting back to y-“
“Quiet!” They shout, “I knew I should’ve put the General Mahamatra on this! Bring Lumine here this instant!”
The guard quickly scatters out of the room leaving the Imposter alone once again, they slump back into their seat. That feeling they’ve had these past few days was right, the real Creator has been running around Teyvat all this time. Though they were unsure of their motives, why didn’t the Creator immediately come and get rid of them? Surely they had to be aware that someone was pretending to be them.
They shook their head, right now they must deal with the Traveler. She had been a traitor from the start, and they had no reason to care for Outlanders. Getting rid of her and her fairy creature was the next course of action.
Tumblr media
Present Day, an unknown location in Sumeru
“Paimon.” Lumine calls out. “Your practically pacing, could you calm down?”
Paimon stops staring at her friend, “calm down?” She scoffs, “you just told Paimon that the imposter was created by Celestia and that Nahida is going to try and break us out. How is Paimon supposed to calm down?”
Lumine brings her finger to her lips, “don’t talk so loud, if the guards outside hear you we’ll never get out and help the Creator.”
Paimon floats down where Lumine had made herself comfortable on the ground, “this is just getting more complicated. Paimon can’t wrap her head around it.”
Lumine agreed with her companion, this situation was getting more complex as more information is revealed. Was Celestia the enemy? If it was capable of turning against its own creator, what else is it capable of? Was Celestia the one who created the Unknown God?
“Who would’ve thought that the Almighty Traveler could look so defeated.”
Lumine picks her head up looking towards the source of the voice.
“The Wanderer?” Paimon says shocked, “what are you doing here?”
He rolls his eyes, “isn’t it obvious?” The Wanderer pulls the cell door open.
Lumine and Paimon share glances then both head towards the exit of the cell. “Why are you helping us?” Lumine asks once she was standing next to the puppet.
He looks away from the two girls, “Nahida came to me asking about the Fatui’s motives with the Creator.”
That’s right, The Wanderer was one of the Fatui Harbingers before he erased himself from history via Irminsul. If anyone would know the plans Snezhnaya had for Their Grace, it would be him.
“The Fatui had plans of summoning the true Creator to Teyvat once they had collected all of the Gnosis, but if the Creator is already here without the Fatui summoning them. They’re most likely looking for their whereabouts, if they haven’t found them already.”
“And if they do find them?” Lumine questions, “what then?”
The Wanderer smirks, “what’s with that look? You almost look worried for the Creator. Don’t tell me that you actually care about them?”
Paimon stomps in the air angrily, “of course we’re worried! They’re our friend and the Fatui can’t be trusted!”
He laughs at her outburst. “If the Fatui manages to find them then-“
He stops abruptly raising his hand so the two girls behind him stop walking.
“What is it?” Lumine whispers.
“Someone is coming.”
The Wanderer pulls the girl behind a large crate Paimon following close behind. Once out of view, a few gaurds came marching down the hallway to the cell where Lumine once resided.
“Huh? The Traveler is gone!”
“How is that possible?” One calls out.
“We must find her as soon as possible! We cannot return to Their Grace empty handed!”
Hurried and erratic footsteps come back down the hall as the guards quickly leave the dungeon spreading out to find the golden haired outlander.
“Looks like your lie didn’t hold up that well, we need to be more cautious.”
Once the coast was clear, they leave from behind the crate walking towards the exit of the dungeon after confirming that there was no guards waiting for them anywhere. The Wanderer pushes open the heavy door revealing they were right outside of the city. Lumine squints her eyes bringing her hand up to block the sun from her face.
“We’re going this way.” The Wanderer calls out.
“Aren’t we going to Nahida? She’s in Sumeru City”
“Nahida is waiting in Port Ormos,” he replies, “she’s planning on leaving Sumeru to find the Creator and she wants you to go with her.” Lumine speeds up her walking so that she was in step with the Wanderer. He glances at her for a moment, “what?”
“You never answered my question.” She retorts.
“What question?”
“Why are you helping us,” she repeats, “you said Nahida came to you for information but that doesn’t explain why you got us out of here.”
“I have my own reasons for getting you out but what I want is to meet them,” he addresses the Creator by their true name paying no mind to the surprised look Paimon gave him. “I have some… questions I want to them to answer.”
Tumblr media
Snezhnaya
The Fatui wasted no time to make preparations to leave for Sumeru, and you were departing the nation of Cryo just as quickly as you arrived.
However you weren’t leaving alone.
The Tsaritsa had no intentions of letting you leave and confront the imposter by yourself. As soon as you told her that you needed to leave immediately, she and all of her Harbingers quickly prepared a ship for you all to sail to Sumeru.
Even though you told her multiple times there was no need for them to go and that you could handle it, she remained adamant so you just gave up and let them go with you.
Once you all had boarded the ship and sailed off, you wanted to use this opportunity to make a plan on how you were going to confront the False Creator once you had arrived to the nation of Dendro.
At least that’s what you wanted.
During your limited time in the Zapolyarny Palace, you didn’t get to meet all of the Harbingers. Then when they returned, you were already leaving. Although they were accompanying you on your trip, none of them dared to approach you. Maybe the Tsaritsa had told them you had taken the news about Celestia poorly. You weren’t sure but you were grateful you had this time to think.
“…Your Grace?”
Never mind…
You turn you head to the right and see Childe approaching you slowly, he had a small smile on his face. “Are you okay? You’ve been standing here for a while now.”
You give him a smile, “you don’t have to worry about me, I’m fine.”
His smiles widens, “well we still have a bit of time until we reach Sumeru, would you like to sit down? There’s a free spot near me.”
You were about to accept his offer but before anything could leave your mouth someone else speaks up.
“Stop assuming that Their Grace wants to sit next to you, Tartaglia.”
Childe’s eyes almost roll behind his skull as he turns to address the voice.
“Their Grace only knows me, I just want them to be comfortable Arlecchino.”
It was obvious by the tone of his voice that Childe had a distaste towards the girl who spoke up. Her black and white hair framed her face while she stares at her comrade with a cold look, you would assume she felt the same way toward him.
“It’s only because you are trying to hog all of their attention.” She snaps.
“Fighting in the Creators presence?” Pantalone tsked a closed eye smile on his face. “Such fools. Your Grace, you may sit next to me, I promise I’m not as aggravating as these two”
They both glare in his direction.
“You always come up with a excuse to stay in the Homeland, why did you feel the need to come with us now?” Arlecchino quips.
“The same reason why you came, Her Majesy and Their Grace are here.” Pantalone says in a soft voice as if he was talking down to the girl.
Although Arlecchino was trying to keep up her gracefulness facade in front of you, hearing his remark caused her eye to twitch, but before she could spit out another degrading comment she is interrupted by her senior.
“Stop with all the childish bickering.” Pierro orders and immediately all of the harbingers stop talking. Once it was quiet he turns his attention to you, “Divine One, Her Majesty would like to speak with you.”
You let out a sigh of relief, “okay, where is she? I can go to her.”
Pierro gestures for you to follow him to the front of the ship where you notice the Tsaritsa standing looking out at the ocean. Once she turns to greet you with a bow, Pierro leaves so it was just the two of you alone.
“Thank you for accepting my request, Your Grace.” She says softly, her hair blowing in the wind.
“I didn’t mind, they were all starting to argue so I was going to slip away at the first chance I got.”
She nods her smile fading a bit, “I apologize for their behavior.”
You shake your head approaching the woman, “no need, honestly it was refreshing to watch since I know what’s waiting for me in Sumeru.”
It falls silent for a moment, the only sound that can be heard is the crashing of waves against the ship.
“Your Grace,” the Tsaritsa begins again, “what is your plan once we reach Sumeru?”
“Actually that’s something I was planning to talk to you about.” You state, “since Snezhnaya citizens aren’t welcome pretty much anywhere, once we get to Port Ormos it’ll draw lots of attention to us. So I was thinking-“
“-thinking of what?” She asks.
“You should apologize to the Imposter.” You finish.
Her eyes widen, “what? Why?”
You rest a hand on her arm to calm her nerves, “not actually apologize but tell everyone that’s what you’re here to do, that’s the only way we will be able to roam Sumeru without the entire nation watching us and probably the only way we’ll be able to get face-to-face with them with no one else getting in the way.”
She looks away from you for a moment staring at the endless ocean, “alright I’ll do it, only for you.”
“Good.” You praise, “then here’s what else I was thinking…”

Port Ormos
Traveling with the Wanderer to Nahida’s location was tense.
Anytime Lumine brought up the Creator the Wanderer talked about them so casually and he even used their real name. It didn’t seem like he disliked the Creator, but his feelings to them still seemed unclear to the outlander. Maybe it was because he got his Fatui memories back, Lumine remembers that during her time in Inazuma the Raiden Shogun was very devoted to Their Grace, so it would only make sense that the devotion would bleed into her creation as well.
“Nahida is waiting for us over there,” The Wanderer point to Wikala Funduq, where her and Dehya hid when they were perusing the Doctor last year.
The trio enters seeing Nahida standing off to the side, once she notices that they’ve entered, she smiles brightly approaching them.
“You’ve made it, I was worried you all wouldn’t get out of the City.” Nahida confesses bringing a hand up to her chest.
“Paimon was worried we wouldn’t make it, there was so much security on the way here.”
“That makes sense,” the Archon replies, “if the Imposter really found out you lied they must’ve put out a search to find you, while at the same time, keeping it under wraps so other nations don’t find out.”
“The Wanderer said you had a plan that you wanted my help with,” Lumine says.
“Yes that’s true. I want to leave Sumeru city and locate Their Grace.”
“Do you know where they went?” Paimon asks and Nahida shakes her head.
“No, but I have a guess where they could be. My first guess would’ve been Liyue but after talking to the Wanderer I believe they’re in Snezhnaya.”
“Do you believe they’re in danger?” Lumine queries.
The Wanderer scoffs rolling his eyes, “the only one in danger there would be the Harbingers themselves. Those idiots won’t be able to stop themselves from fighting once the Creator is near.”
The girls look over at the puppet, “what do you mean?” Paimon is the first to speak.
“Just like everyone else in Teyvat they worship the Creator but none of them get along so I would bet they’d kill each other to spend time with them.”
Paimon’s face goes pale, “oh that’s terrifying! Paimon expects nothing less from the Fatui”
“Are you going to come with us, we could use someone familiar with Snezhnaya after all.” Nahida says the Wanderer.
He shakes his head crossing his arms, “not happening, I have no interest in seeing my old co-workers…”
The girls say nothing but they all understand, they did see all of the horrible things the Doctor had done to him in the memories of Irminsul. Not that he’s innocent himself, but he’s trying to change and that’s all that matters.
“Hey erm,” Paimon suddenly calls out,” isn’t that the Creator right there? On that ship?” The fairy points to a ship that just anchored by the dock.
She was right, it was Their Grace on the ship but they were talking to a pale woman with white hair.
The Wanderer let’s out a sigh, “It’s the Fatui, the one with thd Creator is the Tsaritsa.”
“The Tsaritsa? The leader of the Fatui?”
He nods at Lumines exclamation.
“Well you don’t have to travel to Snezhnaya anymore but I’m not staying here.” The Wanderer glares at the ship, “I’m not sure I’ll be able to control myself if I see him.”
He leaves without another word and Nahida and the Traveler approach the ship.
“Comrade?” Childe questions once he steps off staring at Lumine, “what are you doing here?”
Lumine looks behind him to keep her gaze on the Creator, “we are here for Their Grace.”
“Huh? You already know about them?”
“Lumine? Buer?” You say once you leave the ship, “what are you doing here?”
Lumine’s faces practically beams once you acknowledge her presence, Nahida looked exactly the same.
“We were about to leave Sumeru to find you, there so much we have to say.” Nahida explains.
You raise your eyebrows, “you do? What is it?”
“The Imposter, they come from-“
“-Celestia” you interrupt, “I already know.”
Lumine tries not to roll her eyes at the smug looks from the Harbingers that stood behind you, would it be childish of her to brag how she was the first to find and help you?
“I’ve returned to Sumeru to finish the job.” You explain, “which reminds me, did they believe that I died?”
Lumine looks away ashamed, “for a while they did, but they just found out that I lied. They even kept me locked away after I told them.”
You frown at her explanation resting a hand on her shoulder, “I’m sorry that you went through that, it was negligent of me to ask for your help”
The Outlander shakes her head giving you a smile, now it was her time to boast, the Fatui gives her a dirty look at their close interaction.
A guard approaches the group shakily, “Snezhnayians nor the Fatui are welcome in Sumeru, please return to your ship and leave immediately.”
It was clear the he was intimidated, it wasn’t that long ago when one of the Harbingers was working with the Sages, he must be fully aware of their power.
“I am here to see… Their Grace…” The Tsaritsa states, “to apologize.”
The guard eyes widen as his fixes his posture, “you are?” He clears his throat, “well then, Their Grace is in Sumeru City. I’m not sure if they’ll see you. I’ve heard they are in a horrible mood today, maybe your apology will brighten their day.” The Cryo Archon nods curtly and the guard leaves the group to their own devices.
“Your Grace,” Lumine says once the guard was out of earshot, “you should come with us,”
“Hold on Comrade,” Childe interjected laughing dryly, “why would Their Grace come with you?”
“The Fatui’s reputation is down the drain in every nation, if they go with you it will only draw more attention. I can escort them to Sumeru city without anyone knowing.”
“Correct me if I’m wrong,” Dottore finally speaks up, “didn’t you just say that the Imposter didn’t believe your lie, and with all of the heightened security and how tense you are, I can only assume they’re looking for you.”
Lumine feels her face heat up, he was right but she didn’t want you traveling with them. No matter what the Wanderer said, she would never trust them. They’ve already hurt way too many of her friends.
The Doctor smiles arrogantly, “Based of your silence I’m guessing I’m right. Their Grace should travel with me. I have many projects that could easily get them to the City without being detected. Not only that, this is my homeland.”
They group begins bickering once more on who was going with you and who wasn’t, it was a childish argument. Especially to do it right in front of you who was getting increasingly annoyed as they continue to yell and degrade each other.
“Stop fighting!”
The group falls silent staring at you.
“I’ve already decided, I will go with the Tsaritsa. Dottore and Lumine will also go with me.”
Everyone else sighs besides Pierro and Nahida who seemed more interested in what the plan was.
“You two-“ you point at the Cryo Archon and the Doctor, “-will go in and pretend to apologize and if they don’t believe you Lumine will be your bargaining chip, if they are looking for the Traveler, this should work.”
You glance at Lumine who looked like she was about to reject this plan any second now. “I know how this sounds but I won’t let anything bad happen again, okay? Once they let their guard down I will take over everything.”
The Traveler nods slowly, now feeling reassured about the plan.
“The rest of you should stay on the ship, we will return as soon as possible.”
They all say good luck before returning to the ship like you ordered, Nahida leaves in the other direction, Lumine couldn’t blame her, she wouldn’t want to be with them either.
You and your newly founded group leave Port Ormos with Dottore leading, he wasn’t lying when he said he knew this place well. No one in the group said anything, maybe because nothing needed to be said or because of the stunt they were going to pull off in the next hour. Whatever it was, the silence was still comforting.
It would only be an hour before Teyvat was fully yours again, but if what you fear is true, then Celestia’s betrayal will be a new problem for you to overcome.

Death always loomed over you in your life when you came to the nation of knowledge. After arriving in Sumeru, your parents came down with an illness killing them in a week leaving you to fend for yourself. As a child, you were passed household to household, each dying for some odd reasons until you were pushed onto the Eremites—the people in the rainforest claiming I was the Eremites’ problem now. People in the desert village claimed you were cursed, opting not to help or support you growing up. Even in the small orphanage you were in, there was no solace, you just patiently waited for the day you could leave.
You were grown now though, you couldn’t let yourself be downed by your past. The small joys in your life came from your gardening utilizing what little seeds you could get from traders and creating your own small box of herbs and vegetables shielded by the sun’s ruthless rays. Although not everyone in the village would eat your crops claiming they were a bad omen, some lonely orphans would come enjoying the sweet produce you had to offer. You were grateful for Nahida, the Goddess of Academics, Harvest, and Forests for blessing you. After all, things in your life were beginning to calm down, thankfully.
Until he came
Through time, the small village began to branch out into the surrounding desert in hopes to start building larger homes and places to try to help the increasing population. The civilization began to creep into the rainforest, as the villagers cut down tree after tree. No one expected this simple action would anger the Gods.
You were in the market one day, trying to get new supplies when the winds picked up quickly. The large gusts of wind made you drop everything in your large to try and cover your face, it’s cool air nipping your skin. The sky became dark and cloudy, large booms emitting from them.
Soon enough, a figure descended from the sky. In the middle of the village, people were in awe looking at the descended God. He had short hair, reminiscent of navy along with his eyes glowering below at the crowd. His eyebrows were furrowed, glaring at the mortals of this village, arms crossed in the process.
“I always told my naive friend that humans were lowly, greedy people. To think you proved my point exactly right as you destroyed his blessed realm,” he seethed, voice booming. An older man ran up to him before bowing. He was clearly shaking.
“Oh Wanderer, God of Hurricanes and Storms, son of Ei, Goddess of Time and Lighting, please forgive us. We were ignorant to think our thoughts of expansion would hurt the merciful Nahida,” he cried out. Wanderer rolled his eyes, kicking the old man. His body landed on one of the wooden houses, making a dent. He wasn’t moving, eyes still agape…
“Nahida had blessed this village before and this is how you repay her?! You, mortals, have not experienced a true storm before, and I shall take such salvation in blowing this pitiful town to shreds for hurting my dearest friend. Because I know she is a kind and self-sacrificing person, you will have a month to get your lives in order before they are claimed by the underworld” he announced. Villagers began to cry and scream. You resisted the urge to cry. Although you had little money, you could afford to travel to another village deeper within the desert before the month ended that was blessed by the Goddess of Protection, Dehya.
“Please Wanderer! Mercy! There are children in this village who haven’t experienced their full life,” another begged. Wanderer clicked his tongue, not glaring. It seemed like he was enjoying the terrified cries of this village. The man speaking looked over at you before sneering. His boney hands clenched your wrist tightly before dragging you towards the god. You cursed under your breath, trying to get free from his grasp but it wasn’t successful. The man threw you onto the hard ground, right in front of the Wanderer.
“Would you prefer a sacrifice instead?! This person is a cursed creature. Everyone around them dies. By killing them, our sins in this village can be cleansed, right?” the man babbled, fear and insanity dripping in every world.
You shifted your head, glaring at the crazy man. He didn’t make sense. He just wanted to use you as a scapegoat. Wanderer looked down at you, a shadow covering his eyes. His hand reached out towards your cheek but didn’t make content, opting to loom near it. Your body quivered in fear, adrenaline pumped through your system. Tears pricked the corner of your eyes.
Was this your end? Would this wrathful God kill you right here and now?
He pulled his arm back, covering it in his kimono’s robe once more. He looked up at the old man. Wanderer’s face ceased to that of anger, opting for a more calm demeanor instead.
“...I accept, but they will not be my sacrifice. You are lucky they remain in this village and didn’t leave from the ostracization you all have done. I expect you all to show them the utmost kindness before I collect them,” he stated. The Wanderer caught your eyes one more time, an unreadable expression on his face as he helped your shocked form back onto your feet.
“When the tempest begins, I shall collect you to the heavens,” Wanderer murmured. With one last sinister glare to the people, Wanderer’s body vanished into the winds, the gust hitting everyone around the square.
You didn’t say a word, looking at where the god was once. Your body couldn’t stop shaking. You looked down towards your hands, before hugging yourself. What did this god even want with you in the first place? You couldn’t exactly escape now.
The villagers just stood there in shock, looking at you, the person they cursed so much.
Tumblr media
Three weeks went by quickly, as the villagers tried to adjust to the second chance the God of Hurricanes and Storms gave them. You tried
Within the three weeks that had passed, the village shifted its perspective on you, you felt suffocated. They claimed you were blessed, opting to always buy your produce. The garden you loved was desolate from demand. The villagers were beginning to suffocate you with their false kindness, gifts, and more.
You could only find some sort of peace in the deforested area, now dictated cursed land. Your eyes wandered to the amounts of large tree stumps around you, cracked and grim. The once rich dark soil was dried. You’d never have guessed the forest became a graveyard.
“Will I die…” you muttered to yourself, kicking the rocks in front of you. Wanderer claimed he would bring you into the heavens. You couldn’t imagine another way he would do this. Others claimed you may be turned into a deity, or a nymph, your power to his choosing. Regardless of the positives, you didn’t want to go through with this though. Seeing Wanderer’s bloodthirst was enough to see he wasn’t someone to be messed with, and you didn’t want to have another interaction from that.
“Do you want to die?” a voice whispered into your ear. You shivered, snapping your head into the direction of the deep voice, but there was nobody there. You started to back up before you ran into someone’s chest. Your eyes widened, close to those of saucers, before you looked up to see the figure.
Scars littered his pale skin. His long, cyan hair shifted as he tilted his head as intense glowing red eyes focused on you. As a mischievous smirk crept onto his face, you notice how sharp all his teeth were.
“Did I scare you, darling?” he teased. You pushed your back away from him, turning your body to properly face him. You’d heard the rumors before.
The God of Death had eyes that would shake whomever he gazed at. It seemed that rumor was true, you were trembling
You clenched your jaw tightly watching the god’s gaze on you. He clicked his tongue, rolling his eyes at your hostility.
“You humans always act the same when you see me. Whenever you mention death, you have a chance of summoning me,” he chuckled. You forced yourself to swallow to lubricate your throat before letting out a heavy sigh.
“...I’m sorry I didn’t mean to be rude to the God of Death,” you stammered. Dottore chuckled, putting his hand to his mouth, eyes narrowing at you.
“Although I appreciate you know your place, relax. No need to be so formal, at least not right now,” he stated. You looked down, worry swimming in your eyes as thoughts rapidly passed through you. Dottore noticed your fearful behavior, but it didn’t stop him from getting closer.
“...I’m not here to collect your soul if that’s what you’re worried about—at least yet,” he revealed. Some relaxation returned to your body, but you still remained on edge. The last time you met a God, things didn’t work out for you.
“You know your pretty popular talk right now with the Gods. To think Scaramouche would take interest in a human? It’s unheard of,” he chuckled. You didn’t want to think about the Wanderer right now. Your freedom would be taken away any day now.
“Gee...I’m so grateful,” you muttered. Dottore quirked an eyebrow out, his toothy cheshire grin returning as he leaned into you. He smelt of ash and...something sweet?
“Although I’m not to collect your soul today, tomorrow is another story. You know, you’re going to perish tomorrow,” he confessed. You clasped your hands tightly around each other, a fake smile creeping onto your lips.
“...I figured as much. I think I’ve come to terms with it. Life for me wasn’t that great anyway,” you muttered. Dottore’s grinning faltered, looking away from you and towards the barren forest. His eyes glared at the stumps, almost in jealousy.
“Why’s that?” he asked. You rubbed your shoulders to try and ease your compiling fear.
“Everyone I’m around seems to die. My parents, my guardians...everyone. I grew up for the most part alone, no one in the village…even people in the rainforest, wanted to associate with me,” you confessed. Dottore hummed, looking back at you.
...You could always change your fate,” Dottore suggested. Your eyebrows furrowed, confused about what he was insinuating. Amused once more by your reaction, he chuckled.
“Changing something like that will cost something, right? Nothing like that comes free,” you exclaimed. Dottore shrugged his shoulders, lifting his palm out. An azure fire produced in his palm, before it ceased revealing a pomegranate.
“By eating death’s fruit, you can avoid your fate. Doesn’t that sound good,” he revealed. You gazed at the maroon fruit in his hand before looking back at his fiery orbs.
“...You still haven’t answered my question,” you stated. Dottore scoffed, rolling his eyes in annoyance.
“Does it truly matter? By all means, if you want to be taken away by that defective God, fine. Expect your death to be painful before he drags your soul up towards the heavens where you’ll serve him for eternity. I thought you witnessed his temperament before, but if you think you can deal with it, I’ll just take my business elsewhere,” he hummed, turning his back to you.
He started to walk off. Your heart loudly thumped in your chest. Your one chance of freedom was walking away. Your body shook in frustration before you ran up and caught the god’s wrist. Unamused eyes gazed down at you.
“...Please help me,” you begged, avoiding his piercing gaze. His hand dragged down towards your eyes revealing the pomegranate.
“Then eat, mortal,” he muttered. You grasped the fruit hesitantly, placing it on your lips. No smell was coming from it. Your eyes wandered up towards Dottore, who had a small smile on his face.
What choice did you truly have?
Biting down onto the fruit, its sweet justice spewed in your mouth staining your teeth a red hue. You looked down towards the bitten fruit, head feeling light as if you were drunk. You placed a hand on your forehead, dropping the pomegranate onto the forest floor. Dottore began to laugh in his low deep voice. He sauntered over, lifting up your chin higher towards him. You looked back dazed and confused—vision beginning to haze. He leaned down, placing his leathery lips onto yours.
“After all these years, you’re finally mine (Y/n)...”
Tumblr media
Fluttering your eyes open, you noticed you were in a bedroom. Your head pounded as your body felt weak. In squinted eyes, you tried to soak up where you were. You’d never seen a bedroom like this before. You moved your body up, towards the door hearing two loud voices yelling at one another.
“Dammit Dottore! How dare you take my betrothal away! They were a kind, pure soul. Your stupidity has left a whole village dead,” a familiar voice yelled out. Your body, covered in a black robe, you shivered as the room temperature dropped. The other man laughed, unfazed by the other’s outburst.
“How dare you attempt to steal my infatuation. I wasn’t just going to let you take away the person I’ve claimed for so long—” You walked back towards the bed, confused and scared.
How could you forget?
Death always was in your life. It took away you parents, and people in your life over and over again until it was just you remaining.
...It must’ve been Dottore all this time.

Honestly the way different archons in genshin impact have such different interactions with their nation is very interesting to me, especially with how its further expanded in fontaine recently.
The archons who are closest to the way we traditionally (in the west) think of a god (ie. all-powerful and on a completely other level of existence to humans) would probably be Barbatos first, then Rex Lapis.
Barbatos/Venti having churches dedicated to him and not appearing (as far as most are aware) in society for centuries is very similar to how the christian god is seen, as someone worshipped but never directly interacted with on a level beyond the spiritual. Meanwhile Rex Lapis/Zhongli has tons of myths and stories dedicated to him across lands and made appearances for years until his "death". In this way he's somewhat comparable to Greek gods (or even Jesus, to keep the christianity analogy going). He's far more openly entrenched in humanity but still remains separate and "above".
It's more-so with the three other archons we've encountered that our understanding of what gods must be like in teyvat based on Rex Lapis and Barbatos is totally altered with Ei, Furina, and Buer, all three being the "replacement" archon for their respective nations.
Ei, the third archon we meet, takes a direct role in Inazuman government as the Shogun, a totally different approach than the previous two which i find more similar to various rulers claiming divine right of kings. Also, despite not being the original electro archon most dont actually know this because Ei took on the identity of her sister, who died during the calamity. I think Ei taking on her sisters identity definitely helped her maintain her "divine authority" where other archons (buer) failed to maintain it in their nations.
Speaking of Buer/Nahida, you'd think the whole changing the past to everyone except descenders thing would complicate our interpretation of her but it doesnt at all. I think the reason for this is that destroying the previous archon in irmunsul didnt actually change the past. I also dont think the wanderer/scaramouche actually changed the past. I think they just changed peoples memories of it. but anyway. Nahida also takes on a governmental role at the end of sumerus archon quests while still remaining a somewhat holy figure. She was obviously shut out/disregarded following the passing of the previous dendro archon, unlike Ei she wasn't able to maintain her authority. After the archon quest however, her position in government kind of reminds me of the queen of england early in her rule. There was still a democratic governing body in the prime minister and other representatives but she maintains power.
Furina/Focalors also reminds me of the queen of england but at the end of her career instead. Furina appears to be more of a mascot in fontaine than a proper ruling body. It actually seems that the machine and neuvillette hold more authority that she does. Obviously we havent really explored fontaine much yet (its only been out a few days but im loving it) and we've only gotten so much info from the archon quests but as far as i can tell, furina appears to be kind of scrambling to live up to the previous hydro archon who was seemingly so well liked that fontaines people are repenting to this day. (as am i misremembering or did they say the previous archon didnt side with celestia but her people did?? what!?). Its even actively pointed out how people in fontaine do not view their archon to even a similar level as people in other nations (i mean their archon does meet and greets and is very reckless with her accusations but-).
anyways 👍 yes.
TLDR: zhongli + venti = traditional gods ei + nahida (now) = government furina + nahida = queen of england idk also i dont think they actually changed the past, just people interpretation of it. btw whats up with the fontaine profecy and the whole "they sided with celestia" thing??

Chapter Twelve
A year, six months, two weeks, and three days have passed since the incident. You can’t remember your last visit. They all go pretty much the same: examine his unmoving form, wait for him to wake up, try not to feel disappointed when he doesn’t.
In the beginning, you would bring little flowers to leave floating around him. Now, they’re all shriveled and brown.
The sight strikes you. It’s such a desolate representation of how life has moved on without him. Even you have a new life after all the time that has gone by.
You're on the verge of tears when you hear a voice.
“Why do you look so sad?”
In the midst of the withered flowers, Scaramouche is staring at you with his face scrunched in confusion.
“Lord Scaramouche, you're awake!” you exclaim with a wobbly smile, eyes welling even faster.
“Lord… who?”
“Oh… uh,” you stammer. “Stay put, I’ll get help!”
Your thoughts are racing as you rush out the door. He doesn’t remember anything. What happens if he never recovers his memory? Would that make me his keeper? Could I even bear such responsibility knowing all that I’v– we’ve lost? He has to remember. He has to.
*****
The seemingly youthful archon strokes her chin in thought. “Retrograde amnesia, huh…”
It’s taking everything in you not to descend into hysteria. Just deciding who to ask for help took a good fifteen minutes. Finding Lesser Lord Kusanali took even longer. Now, you’re not even sure she’ll be able to do anything.
Her outburst startles you out of your rumination. “I’ve got it.
“Everything that has ever happened is recorded in Irminsul. We can use the Irminsul to show Scaramouche his past and restore his memories,” she finishes.
Hope stirs in your chest. That doesn’t sound too hard. “So, where do we find this Irminsul?”
“That part is a little more complicated,” she admits. “As the dendro archon, I am an avatar of Irminsul and therefore have constant access to it. I can send him there and bring him back.
She did her best to suppress it, but you still noticed her grimace. “I cannot, however, lead him through Irminsul. I have to remain in Sumeru in order to pull him out of Irminsul, which means someone else would have to guide him.”
Before you even get the chance to volunteer, she shoots you down. “It can’t be you. There are many dangers in Irminsul, dangers that an unskilled fighter wouldn’t be able to overcome.”
Your faces darkened in unison as she said what you were both thinking.
“It has to be the Traveler.”
*****
Everyone knows the Traveler is a member of the Adventurers’ Guild. Some of her most famous conquests started out as commissions given to her by the same Snezhnayan puppet found at every guild headquarters.
“Katheryne, I’m looking for the Traveler.”
She smiles warmly as she always does. “Welcome to the Adventurers’ Guild! Are you interested in commissioning an adventurer?”
“Something like that,” you mutter. “Can you tell the Traveler to meet me at the cafe? Tell her it’s urgent, thanks.”
Before Katheryne can ask for your name or the details of the commission, you’re off to wait at Puspa Cafe. It’s better that she doesn’t know who’s requesting to meet with her anyway.
When the Traveler meets your eyes, it’s clear she wasn’t expecting you. Her eyes are widened and her eyebrows are raised. Everything about her expression tells you she’s thinking, “I thought we were done with this bitch.”
As she and her companion make their way to your table, you quash any uncertainty running through your head. Every hesitation, every shred of reluctance, every ounce of apprehension.
“I know I’m probably the last person you’d like to see,” you start, averting your eyes from her judgemental stare. “But please hear me out.”
The Traveler’s frown deepens the longer she listens.
“Why should we restore his memories?” Paimon asks with an accusatory tone. “He might try to destroy Teyvat!”
“It’s safer for everyone if he forgets his past,” the Traveler agrees.
Tears prick your eyes and you dig your nails into your fist. “You don’t know him like I do. He won’t cause any trouble.”
Sensing the Traveler’s misgivings, you finally raise your head to meet her eyes.
“Please.”
She stands from her side of the table and turns to you with a dissatisfied look. “Alright, let’s go.”
You jump up from your seat feeling lighter than air. “Thank you so much. I’ll take you to him, he’s in the Sanctuary.”
There’s a spark of hope in your chest as you lead them to Scaramouche. You’re already thinking of all the things you want to tell him, everything he’s missed in the last year and a half.
In the midst of your daydreaming, you hear a whisper that is not quite a whisper.
“Hey, Lumine, are we really gonna help them?”
“It’s okay, Paimon. If anything goes wrong, I can put Scaramouche out of commission. For good this time.”
The spark of hope you felt is extinguished by the fear that strikes your heart.
** POV Switch **
”Who was that girl, Nahida?”
“For a very long time, she was your most loyal companion.”
Shortly after you ran out the door, Lesser Lord Kusanali arrived and she’s been fielding questions since. “Who are you?” “Who am I?” “How did I get here?” That sort of thing.
Scaramouche only stops asking questions when you finally return a few hours later with another girl and a… fairy? Everyone is talking about ‘helping’ him, but he’s not sure what they’re planning or how they’ll accomplish it.
Eventually, their hushed conversation ends and they approach him. His ‘most loyal companion’ hangs back.
“Scaramouche,” the child-like god addresses him. “The Traveler and I are going to help restore your memories, but I need you to do as I say.”
She guides him and the traveler towards the center of the sanctuary and instructs them to sit cross-legged.
“Close your eyes,” she says, and the material world disappears. “Irminsul access granted. Initiating connection procedure.”
When he opens his eyes, everything is tranquil and pink. Then, he turns and meets the Traveler’s eyes to find her glaring at him with suspicion.
She leads him through mazes of information that is simultaneously tangible and intangible, careful not to touch anything particularly luminescent. It takes them what seems like hours to reach their destination, but when they finally do, the giant tree that had been before them is replaced by a traditional dojo.
He sees horrible things in that dojo. His creation, his creator. His ‘mother’ abandoning him. Dottore’s betrayal. His friends dying. His own cruelty.
But he also sees you. He gets to watch you trip over your words when you first meet, offer him sweets every time you baked (even if he said no every time), and sip tea with him in comfortable silence.
“…but if in a year you realize that I’ve stuck by you, you’ll have to take me seriously!”
Wow. It has to have been over a year since she said that, maybe two, he ponders. She really stayed…
Finally, they make it to that fateful day. They end up getting attacked by his past self, which is surreal and kinda creepy. He’s so startled he pulls a vision out of nowhere to destroy himself? I dunno.
Once they’ve broken the mech suit and reclaimed the gnosis, he sees you running toward it. You’re running as fast as you can to catch him, someone so undeserving of your loyalty, companionship, affection. So strong are your feelings, that you earn a vision of your own and use your newfound cryo ability to break his fall.
In all his centuries roaming Teyvat, he has never seen someone care so much for another person. Especially not him. The way you cradle his face in this memory is so tender, so filled with concern. And the way you shield him with your body, knowing Il Dottore could shred your mortal flesh with ease. Your determination and commitment is incredible.
It feels… nice, to be cared for, is his last thought before he’s released from the dream.
** POV Switch **
Their quiet trance was nerve-racking from an outsider’s perspective. At first, you could hear both sides of the conversation but the sanctuary fell silent after Nahida said “initiating connection procedure”. The only sign that anything is even happening is the telltale rapid eye movement that comes with dreaming.
It doesn’t take long for them to wake up. As with most dreams, the perceived duration is much shorter than the actual duration. The 500 years of memories they had relived lasted maybe half an hour in the real world. It was still a really tense half hour, in your defense.
Not once had you taken your eyes off him so when he came to, his immediate eye contact stole your breath. He stood, dusted himself off, and walked over to where you had been observing them from afar.
He offers you a hand. “Congrats on the vision.”
You take his hand gingerly, like you’re not sure if you’re supposed to touch him. “Thank you, my—“
“Don’t call me that,” he cuts you off. “We’ll think of something else.”
Beaming at him, you ask, “Does that mean you won’t be returning to the Fatui?”
“No,“ he said. “I won’t be returning to the Fatui.”
It occurs to you that your relationship with him up until this point was purely a result of working for the Fatui. What will happen now?
“…Does that mean you’ll no longer require my services?” you inquire with a light furrow in your brow.
“No…” He puts his hand to his chin, thoughtfully. “It just means I can’t pay you for them.”
And that smile is back and more brilliant than ever, almost like your boss didn’t just tell you you’d be working for free.
