I spent like 20 dollars in quarters trying to get one of these. I looked afterward and there was like 3 in there and the rest was like literally colored rubber bands or bouncy balls. I just wanted a colorful magboil :(. sidetone, do you think that their head friends are just plain beads, or like snail eggs or those deep sea giant ostracods.

Found these familiar-looking fellas at the laundromat today. Not only are there classic Big Kito Extrusion Whatsits, in both Morag and Milburn varieties, but they also have skeleton ones!
Tumblr media
Taking a closer look at the prizes inside, I also spotted a witch, though I unfortunately couldn’t get one for myself.
Tumblr media
After a solid twelve tries (at 50 cents a pop), I managed to snag two Milburn-style ones. Was thinking of naming them Bulbo and Chargle, after Bulbasaur and Charmander, but now that I’m looking at the photo, I’m reminded more of Mario and Luigi.
Tumblr media
Sadly instead of maggots, their heads express multicolored beads. Still, I’m glad to have found these guys in the wild!
(If you’re unfamiliar with these things, check out @bogleech’s article on the Luminous Big Kito Extrusion Nausea Maggots).

Note
a grocery store nearby has those quarter machines with various toys and stickers (one time they had orbeez filled squishies that used almost the exact same mold the og magboils do if you remember me sending that) and today i got a couple grossout pokemon cards i feel like youd dig
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Holy cow I saw some of these a million years ago! Pokemon was NEW! A lot of vending machine prizes can sit around in warehouses for decades before they finally find a home

Package!
Tumblr media
It's here, folks. The 10th anniversary of the early Mascot Horror tale by our man John Wojcik- Bogleech if you're cool- sees the complete story, fleshed out (perhaps literally) by a freshly butchered pile of supplemental materials, finally printed on actual dead stuff. It's gonna be a time.
But you don't follow me for book reports, you come for reviews of the unreviewed. And since I sprung for the Jollymeal edition, there's a trinket sack involved.
Tumblr media
Presumably, these things manifest as fairly close approximations of actual fast food meals, and this one would be bang-on accurate 24 years ago.
Tumblr media
We get a pickled entree, some Saunce for dippin', a tasty Bevridge, and a toy. Let's dig in!
Tumblr media
What's this? Pickle Surprise! A fresh Magboil, the kind with little ears! His name is Yoder, because he will forever remind me of snacks. That's both sculpts now, so the immediate family is complete. Perhaps I'll rustle up some cousins eventually.
Look closely at the foot, and you'll see an impressive chunk of flash. I normally remove those, but it just feels right on this thing.
Tumblr media
The Saunce is complex. More like a marinara, really. Big chunks. I assume the tooth is like a bay leaf, and I've got a bit of luck now, but shouldn't eat it.
Tumblr media
Let's wash that down with a Bevridge. I think I'm supposed to add water, actually. That fish looks kind of sad, and the roaches are way too crunchy.
Tumblr media
And finally, a Scary Head! I have a couple already, but the Unnamed One was pretty high on my list! An emaciated/skinless body topped with a heart-head with Spider-Man eyes. Oh, and sirens with razzing tongues sticking out of its shoulders. It's like an AI tried to invent a youkai.
Tumblr media
Now, this was a Kickstarter project, but there are usually some leftovers on Etsy. That's Scythemantis over there, by the way. And on that note, the food coma is kicking in about now. Or maybe i'm shifting layers, who knows.

Fellas...
I think Jay might be British-
He names one of the slobs mentioned in his journal "Noseybonk", a reference to a character from the show "Jigsaw", which aired on the BBC; the British Broadcasting Corporation from 1979 to 1984.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You might recall his name for the Magboils; "Jellybabies".
"Jelly Babies" are a type of candy that originated in the UK, and is primarily produced there.

A masterpost for Bogleech's Noisy Tenant universe - including works set in the same universe but not made by him.
I've decided to put together a masterpot in order to direct people to both Awful Hospital and the two other series in the Noisy Tenant series, including a web game that may or may not be canon.
Awful Hospital is the first and most obvious work you see when Noisy Tenant comes to mind. First started on late-July 2014 by one Jonathan Wojick aka Bogleech, this interactive play-by-post webcomic has gone on strong for nearly nine years at this point. A must read for those who love horror.
Don't Get Spooked is a webgame put up by Bogleech on 2013, coinciding with the Burgrr ARG by him and Slimebeast. In this game, you play as a visitor checking out a haunted house, encountering many beasts along the way. During your journey, you'll meet quite a few spooky characters, including parodies of famous creepypastas (Candle Cove and Slenderman come to mind) and a couple staples of Bog's original work (Magboils and a little cameo from Dr. Phage). Definitely a good game to play!
Gusherbug's Strange School: Even Stranger is a reboot of the original Strange School, which was inspired by Awful Hospital. It follows "The Troublesome Trio," three students who often cause trouble around the School and solve various mysteries, many of which seem to relate to the School itself. It's definitely something that's earned it's place in the Noisy Tenant universe.
And last but not least, here's "Frank and the Guardians," written by yours truly. Of course, I can't give it high praise since it's my own story I'm talking about, so it's up to you to find out if it's good or not. It's currently serializing every Friday on Wattpad, so be sure to catch up to all the parts currently available so you won't be lost!
That's all I've got for this year. I'd include the early works Bogleech did for the Noisy Tenant series ("Dr Phage's Hospital," "Dr. Fleagood Does It Again," the "Dr. Dementist" story, and the "Burgrr Inc." series), but they're included in Awful Hospital's "Library" function (which shows up around 200-300 layers in). Hope you enjoy them all!

Inktober day 26- Stretch
A little fan art of Bogleech’s ‘Awful Hospital seriously the worst ever’ featuring an incredibly minor background happenings that makes up the awesome details of this comic. (page in question: http://www.bogleech.com/awfulhospital/383.html ). Poor little magboils. But it was worms. And worms are awesome. :B
But seriously it’s worth a read and it one of the most enjoyable web series out there right now.

I wonder sometimes if I'm the only person in our universe who encountered these. I found them in the early 2000s only once, at a one-off party store that closed down shortly afterwards. It had exactly one each of the first three, which are the most unique designs anyway, so I bought them all and still have them and in almost 20 years never saw or heard of them again.
They use the same body as magboils and some other "creepy" toys

A fan character drawing. Nothing else, really.
I have a habit of typing large quantities of tangent-text when I make a post about both fan {and original} characters. Not this time, though. Not as much.
"Scamper" is a name given to this Magboil, after the way these critters run around.
It was taken up as a companion by someone who named it and used a bit of scrap fabric to make a little bandana for it {to distinguish it from its kind}.
There is a little zipper attached to the bandana, somewhat like a pin. No purpose other than to make it look pretty.
Tumblr media
Full image drawing below.
I like amphibians. The way these "Magboil" things look, it reminded me a bit of frogs, so I drew this one with froggish fingers.
Tumblr media
These things are a bit eerie but also cute in their mannerisms. I also like their eyes, they are pretty so long as you disregard the blood and the maggots inside. Do people become desensitized to those things?
Image below was the first drawing. A random thought led me to redrawing the thing.
