Unbeknownst to Wally, the notes are from Clockwork desperately trying to contact anyone who can actually influence the timestream outside the Observant’s watchful eyes.
After getting the notes to Bruce, they reveal the frantic ramblings of a [Parent? Mentor? Guardian?], desperately crying out for them to save his [word untranslatable but presumed to mean son, mentee, or child] from a government organization a few universes over.
The being, who introduces himself as Clockwork, reveals he cannot influence anything himself but can watch over the streams of time and has observed Wally’s ability to interfere and change it’s threads. If his [son?] dies, it will mean the destruction of all of the infinite realms (a cosmic foil to the speed force that’s a force of death and timelessness instead of life and the constant movement forward of the universe).
All in all, the letters are rushed, barely explain anything except location, date, what condition he’s in, and how to save the boy.
Who exactly is this boy? Why is he so important to the Infinite Realms? What are the Infinite Realms exactly? Who is this “Clockwork” and why are they so important? Who are the Observants? And so many more. All are valid questions, and all are entirely unanswered.
But regardless, with Captain Marvel confirming the existence of the Infinite Realms, that it was under attack, and the very real negative effects it would have on their universe if it collapsed; Wally must now gather a crew and embark on a rescue mission across universes to save this kid[? They actually don’t really know his status of age other than he’s younger and in the care of the mysterious “Clockwork” who sent the letters in the first place].
Batman, because… of course he’s going to go investigate what the hell is happening. Not only can his eye for strategy, stealth, hacking, and intimidation give the team an advantage in getting the most answers out of the government ages there. But Bruce also has so many damn questions, barely any of which were answered by the notes Wally received, so he needs to go into this mission to investigate not only this new alternate universe government threat but to get as much information possible before they leave, in addition to ensuring Clockwork’s child is safely rescued.
Clark is elected as he is most likely to handle whatever this government organization has in store (and Clark “got injured” in the most recent supervillain battle that smashed into the Daily Planet, so he conveniently has some time off while he “recovers from his injury.” But also because he heard a kid was in danger and, well, it feels wrong to not help someone in need).
Captain Marvel (god, they gotta get to know the guy more. he’s so damn reserved but is great at this particular brand of buck-wild missions), not only because of his incredible intelligence, invulnerability, strength, and being great with kids and teenagers; but also is primarily chosen for the team due to his knowledge of the Infinite Realms. He can also give live feedback on the state of the Realm that’s apparently actively tearing apart and crumbling! If something goes wrong, Cap will be able to give them a warning before all shit breaks loose.
Next recruitment is Patrick O’Brian, aka Plastic Man. His abilities of stealth (if he can keep his mouth shut), infiltration (absolutely), invulnerability (overpowered as high hell), versatility (dear god he can literally become anything or anyone as long as it’s in his own color pallet), and because he has a particular soft-spot for kids.
(Plas and Clark are already moping to each other about having to leave their respective partners (Woozy and Lois) behind. Meanwhile Wally is biting at the chance for just a tiny break from the twins, sorry Linda.)
Lastly, brought surprisingly by Captain Marvel is Booster Gold. His additional experience in time-travel and time stream manipulation will come mighty in handy during the mission. It helps that Booster has some “Bona fide genuine ecto-weapons, dudes! Let’s go and save Phantom!” that he brought from the 25th century. And, well. At least now they had the name “Phantom” from Booster to work off of.
Kon and Thad are notified to be on-call for the Recovery Team’s arrival back as clones were mentioned in one of the hundreds of notes and Clark thought it might be nice for the boys to have another friend they can relate to. Tim and Bart are close behind because despite Bruce and Max telling them to not interfere, they want to also meet the alternate universe breaking guy who has enough trust from Clark to keep Kon and Thad on-deck in case they’re needed to help the guy make some friends his age.

This is rushed and not super refined, I just wanted to get the basic initial idea out of my head & get it out there. So sorry if this is a tad wonky to read at times, that’s my bad
Short DPXDC Prompts #576
Wally doesn’t understand these strange messages written on bright green post-it notes that keep appearing near him. Whatever it’s trying to say, the messages keep increasing in amount every day.
#god this was mean to be short but the ideas just kept coming#this isn’t particularly well written or has a great plot and is just the set up but I’m tired and heading to bed now so this is what ya get#bones writes#dp x dc#bones replies#modern takes on the Golden Age characterization of Plastic Man and Captain Marvel/Shazam supremacy#i think their vibes. especially plas’s comedic antics faced with a serious written character such as Marvel#that derived humor in the original comics Not from words or quips (although they definitely were there! just Marvel wasn’t the one doing it#generally) was often from the situations Marvel got into. not the words or puns he said#meanwhile Plas’s Quality Comics combo of physical and verbal comedy present a delightful foil to the Captain#in addition to their shared Pure Goodness and insistence of never doing crime because it’s Bad#(for Billy: because it makes him feel bad bc of his extremely strict and rigid moral compass)#(for plas: because he’s a reformed crook and he’s not going back to those days. no siree. he’s reformed through and through.)#plus their mutual fright of women and avoiding women’s advances on them (sure they have different reasons for doing so with Billy being bc#he’s a literal child and for Plas it’s because he’s not only uninterested in women but actively avoids literally any romantic invances#with the same furiosity an extreme arachnophobic would have to avoid spiders at all cost#) that and Plas’s yearn for taking care of kids but being utterly piss poor at doing so#so a self sufficient child like Billy would be genuinely perfect for him to try to take care of#honestly? golden aged Billy Batson is probably more sufficient than both plas and woozy combined for acting like an adult#don’t forget. woozy and plas ARE smart. they just forget that and fuck up horribly whenever there’s comedic gag to be had as a result#also. Billy in this is Golden Aged Billy Batson so Captain Marvel is as well#his WEAKNESS is magic. NOT his strength. he is op smart. strong. wise. etc. and is the physical form of the magic lightning#so Billy and Cap are simultaneously the same yet different people and can essentially astral project themselves to talk to the other#bc while I like the modern shazam… in concept. the ‘hard down on their luck orphan who was a last ditch effort for Shazam + mind of a child’#really is not the interpretation I think they should’ve gone for at all and I like the Captain Marvel ‘different guy than Billy +#billy is actually pure of heart with a rigid moral compass with the original heart of gold and NOT the ‘mind of a child’ metaphor instead’#bones writes in the tags#also. one last additional note. even though this has never been in character for booster gold. I feel like he Should talk like bill and Ted.#it’s just vibes. but god I want someone So Fucking Badly to write a crossover of them meeting in time and booster giving them terrible#just fucking absolutely terrible girl advice until bill & ted realize that they should just be themselves and that’s what truly matters

I saw this anti-Kataang post saying Katara is 14 going on 25 and Aang is 12 going on 8. And honestly this really pissed me off, the invalidation of Aang’s trauma and the adultification of Katara honestly grosses me out. It’s such a shameful mischaracterization and flanderization of both characters. Zutara stans like these are such fake fans, they don’t care about the show, they don’t care about Katara just their own fanfic version of Katara they can project onto.
https://www.tumblr.com/linnoya-writes/708121534055759872/kataang-but-its-only-a-2-year-age-difference?source=share
imma be real this is the weirdest shit I ever read 😭
“Aang plays with Momo while the other kids drink TEA like sophisticated ADULTS and play GAMES that require CRITICAL THOUGHT !!!! REEEEE”
Aang knows how to play pai sho…… we literally saw him playing it in book 1 episode 12: The Storm…. Fuckin moron @ OP 🤦🏻♂️
Also the weird commenting on what Aang would theoretically know about genitalia and sex is … odd…. And it’s also so strange to me that people think Aang would be some naive idiot who knows nothing about the world let alone about sex at his age.
The air nomads were very sexually open in ways that none of the other cultures are in ATLA. This is canon. They were a sexually free people, lol. So saying that Aang would have no concept of these things because he’s too “immature” to know about it is not aligning with what we know of his people and culture. We also know that Katara and Aang married and had a child together when they were pretty young, so… this whole argument is so strange lmao. Adding onto this, Aang traveled the world and frequently at that and we can assume he did so solo. He had way more life experience and knowledge by the age of 12 than Katara or Sokka combined, who had never even set foot outside their village. If any of these two characters is naive about sexuality and all it encompasses, it would in fact be Katara…. Who grew up in a village without men aside from her brother… lol. Aang traveled everywhere, he probably was friends with plenty of girls and I’m sure Katara wasn’t his first kiss, either given these facts.
Their argument is “Aang doesn’t know about female anatomy” which is implying he is unfit to date her on the grounds he couldn’t “please” her. However, as I already showed, this would very likely not be the case given Aang’s culture and people and everything we know of his life pre iceberg.
If anyone doesn’t know about sex and genitalia, it would be Katara. 100%. She literally grew up in an isolated village with no males aside from her brother. She would have virtually no concept of male puberty or male anatomy. Lol. So what’s the argument here? Is Katara now “unfit” for Aang because she grew up isolated from men? See how easy that was to flip their bullshit? 😭
And no, the point isn’t whether he knows or not, OP. The only reason anyone is considering this in the first place is because you argued the point. Yknow, because normal people don’t rlly think about this in regards to cartoon characters.
It’s honestly so bizarre to me how ppl act like Aang is the naive, stupid and sheltered child in the show when in reality, Aang was already self sufficient as a 12 year old. He traveled, cooked for himself and cared for himself during said travels, he knew of other cultures intimately, he knew a lot of history, he was already a master of his native element, etc…. That doesn’t sound like a naive child to me. Aang doesn’t act silly and goof off because he’s stupid. It’s both an aspect of his carefree personality and also a conscious choice and coping mechanism from trauma and grief and survivors guilt.
And anyway, Katara thinks of Aang’s carefree nature in a very positive light. She likes this about him.
I’m also never gonna understand the argument of “she grew up in war” as if Aang didn’t fight alongside her in that very war as a kid, too. Yeah, he had 12 years before that, but who gives a fuck? He also suffered far more loss than Katara or anyone for that matter, and that is objective fact.

Not tacking this onto my last reblog out of respect for OP and their notifications, but their excellent post (and my own recent visit with a "family friend" uncle) helped me put my finger on my specific issue with 95% of “Uncle Barney” headcanons.
Like, I am guilty of Uncle Barney crimes. To this day, I am continuing to perpetrate Uncle Barney crimes. I don’t hate the idea of Barney and Alyx having been close for much of her life. To be clear, there is zero canon evidence suggesting that this is the case, but I don’t think there’s anything inherently wrong with this headcanon. What I don’t like, though, is the way so many people who aggressively headcanon this relationship also conceptualize Alyx as some sort of naive forever-child, trapped in a state of arrested development where she still relates to Barney (and/or Dr. Kleiner, her canonical pseudo-uncle) like she would have at age 12. I am begging y'all to please stop infantilizing this poor woman.
A lot of the appeal of Uncle Barney (to me) is the opportunity to explore the ways Alyx’s relationship with an adult family friend would change over the course of her life. What was it like for her to come of age as one of the youngest people on Earth and slowly become peers with people she used to see as authority figures? What can she learn about herself, the people around her, and the situation they’re in when the older generation finally stops censoring themselves around her? How many of her childhood experiences might be suddenly re-contextualized by new information from her older friends? In a pre-HLA timeline, how does the untimely death of her father, her last living biological relative, affect her relationships with other "family" members?
I would love to see more people explore these kinds of questions in fanworks, instead of just having Alyx around to squeal “eew! gross!” when the male characters make out, act like they are her dads when she is canonically very close to her actual literal dad, or ask them questions about things that any reasonably intelligent 24-year-old could figure out on her own.
C'mon, folks. We can do better than this.
#K talks#there's nothing revolutionary in here but I wanted to dump some thoughts into the void#thank you for coming to my ted talk#yeah headcanons are whatever at the end of the day but PLEASE stop treating strong and complicated female characters like this#the idea of Uncle Barney can be interesting if you are not illiterate actually#but it is still not canon#fuck it I'm tagging this#alyx vance#barney calhoun#uncle barney is not canon#< this is my tag on ao3 and I'm using it here too

Yk one thing the BSD fandom hasn’t really realized yet is that Suegiku have actually known each other just as, if not LONGER than Soukoku. Seriously. Ik that sounds crazy, but just hear me out:
First of all, we know Jouno joined the Hunting Dogs 6 years ago. That means he’s known Tetchou for at LEAST six years now
Now you may think it’s a little bit of leap to just assume that they knew each other for all those 6 years. After all it’s entirely possible that Tetchou joined after Jouno did, and so the two could’ve only known each other for as little as a year. However, I honestly don’t think that’s the case, and Tetchou did in fact join BEFORE Jouno.
Admittedly, this is just ultimately HC but it makes sense when u think about it. Out of all the Hunting Dogs. Tetchou is easily the MOST committed to justice and his job. He has passion for it almost unlike any of the other members. I think that he (unlike Tachihara, for instance) actually TRAINED and maybe actually applied to become a Hunting Dog the normal way, kinda like how u can apply to become a cop. In other words, based on his very evident dedication, you can tell that this was a career he CHOSE to go into. And considering that career planning requires, well, a PLAN, one that doesn’t necessarily have to take that many years (depending on the career), and the fact that current Tetchou seems like he’s already in his early to mid 20s max (most of the young adult characters in BSD tend to be in that range- Kunikida, Dazai, Ranpo), then 6 years ago (when Jouno joined) he would’ve most likely have almost completed or already completed his training and become a HD member
Ofc, u can argue that his training could’ve taken longer, so he still could’ve joined after than Jouno. But considering the fact that they took in Tachihara when he was like only 15 (I think?) mostly because of his ability, I don’t think the official training and application process actually takes THAT long. Or if does, then you can easily speedrun all that time by having an OP ability, regardless of ur actual age. (They’re kinda like ADA and PM in that sense; age literally does not matter if u have a broken power lol that can make up for that lol) And considering the fact that Tetchou HAS an OP ability and is literally the strongest Hunting Dog, I feel like he would’ve been accepted for the job sooner rather than later. So yeah, he would’ve already been a HD by the time Jouno joined.
But 6 years ago is just when Jouno OFFICIALLY joined the HD. That’s not even mentioning the time it must’ve took to find and arrest him in the first place. So considering Jouno was an executive of an infamous mafia group, I bet it would’ve taken more than just Fukuchi to capture him. Other HD members, like Tetchou and Teruko would’ve most likely been on the mission as well.
Especially because (while this is mostly HC territory again) it rly seems the HD took down, not just Jouno, but most likely his entire mafia group. We never hear any mentions of them in the present and it just doesn’t make sense that a group as ruthless and THOROUGH as the HD would capture Jouno,(someone who can literally hear them coming MILES away and literally disappear into thin air!) but somehow not anyone else in the mafia group. So if they rly did take down everyone, then that definitely would’ve been a job for more than just one person. Meaning Tetchou definitely would’ve been involved in Jouno’s arrest. Which is how they might’ve actually known each other for even longer than those 6 years, depending on how long it took to arrest Jouno. (Btw, SKK have known each other for 7 years)
I think the reason we’ve never actually realized this is because unlike SKK, SGK aren’t freaks that constantly bring up how long they’ve known each other every five minutes
Also, you could argue that SGK understand each other almost as well as SKK, considering Jouno can literally read Techou’s body like a book and that Tetchou is capable of perfectly describing Jouno to an absolute T.
#idk what tags to use#idk I just find this SO insane.#like SKK r literally the PINNACLE of ‘ik u like the back of my hand’#(*cough cough* i kNoW yOuR mOvEs fAr tOo wEll#which I’ve always found as like.#just the cutest thing about them#so to realize that SGK have technically also been like that or at least have the potential to???#just. ASJGDF#like can u imagine Jouno#being like the only one who can easily spar with Tetchou#(despite being weaker than him)#because he’s memorized his heart beat and knows EXACTLY what move Tetchou will do based on that??#gay.#forever salty about how bones robbed us of the Suegiku reunion scene.#like.???#Suegiku NEED more screen time.#please. I’m begging u#bungo stray dogs#bsd season 5#suegiku#soukoku#jouno saigiku#tetchō suehiro#hunting dogs bsd#also sorry if this is hard to follow#this is my first ever post so I’m still trying to figure out how this all works lol#also I wrote this at 3am cuz I couldn’t sleep 😆 so yeah this’ll prob make no sense at all lol

Paper Trail
Description: Lucanis wrestles with the possibility of betrayal as he delves into the mysteries surrounding his capture and subsequent disappearance. With Rook by his side, they piece together what few clues they have.
2461 Words
Characters: Lucanis Dellamorte and femme, elven Rook
Pairings: Lucanis x Rook, hint of potential Teia x Viago
Genre: Mystery???? Hurt and comfort.
Content Warnings: I'd rate this T for teen. Mostly for a few dirty words in English and Spanish and some adult themes. Adult themes: mentions of violence, betrayal, suspicion, sex. Spite being less of a physical gremlin and more of a voice in Lucanis's mind.
WARNING: Spoilers for all released Dragon Age: The Veilguard gameplay footage as of 10/26/24, The Wigmaker Job, and Eight Little Talons. Not necessary to have read the Tevinter Nights stories, though. I probably over-exposit for clarity.
Note: Probably will be OOC once the game comes out. Story details will probably be totally wrong, too.
Note 2: This is a part 1 of ???? If anyone actually reads it I might feel cute and write more.
Lucanis Dellamorte was tiring of sifting through papers. Although normally he was happy to compile and review intelligence dossiers or post-op status reports, today, he faced another beast entirely.
He sat at an old oak desk in Emmrich's library facing off against a tall stack of envelopes, the newest of which were freshly delivered. The twine bindings and wax seals all broken, their contents had been dumped out and arranged in some vague groupings for analysis. He had read through them all at least once already, but felt like he was missing something obvious. Exhaustion aside, he wasn't ready to stop digging for clues just yet.
He let out a big sigh.
His positioning in the room wasn't ideal and he knew he struggled to concentrate because of it. He would have preferred to be sitting with his back to a wall, as would be usual for him, but that wasn't currently possible due to the layout of Emmrich's furniture. It was already kind enough of Emmrich to let him use his space without a condition of said use being a complete reorganization of the room. So, he was instead situated as close to the door as he could be, relying on the sounds of footsteps, gait recognition, and the wide oak door's creaks to give away any potential intruders.
As a result, when he heard those familiar, soft-heeled footsteps make their way to the door, he already knew what to expect. Still, she opened the door ever-so-slowly and crossed the room quietly, maybe on tip-toes. Probably trying to surprise him.
“Boo!” she whispered, wrapping her arms around him and kissing his cheek, “Did I get you?”
“Ah, yes, mi amor.” He responded flatly, and softly stroked her arm, “You got me.”
“Lies,” she whispered in his ear, “What are you up to?”
“Tying together loose ends... or trying to, anyway.”
“Loose ends?” she asked and pulled away from him. He instantly missed her warmth.
She leaned against the desk now, pawing at his papers inquisitively.
“Old ship records. You're looking for details of your capture?”
“You know the one,” He leaned back in his chair, and met her eyes, now giving her his full attention.
And indeed she did. A year before they had met, Lucanis had been the target of a devastating kidnapping plot on his return voyage to Antiva from Tevinter. Venatori had surrounded and overrun his vessel, and with nowhere to escape, he was captured. He had spent nearly a year in their custody, subject to endless torture and experimentation in retaliation for the assassinations that earned him his moniker: “The Demon of Vyrantium.”
By the time Rook and Neve found him in his underwater prison, he had been saddled with more than a few extra demons of his own. One of them more literal than any of them could have expected.
She swallowed, “Hmm.”
“Months ago, when we were in Vyrantium looking for Zara, I went seeking the manifest of my ship from that night.”
“Alone? I would have come with you.”
“I... didn't entirely trust you yet.”
She wasn't hurt by this. Knowing everything he had been through, his caution was more than warranted. Still, she wished she could have joined him.
“Anyway, with the ship's captain having been killed in the attack, I went to the local port authority and asked for a copy of any documents. They said the ship I was on was with an independent trading company, and they'd inquire to the local merchant's guild.”
“And it took this long for them to get back to you?”
“It seems that particular ship had an incomplete record. It took months of back and forth between the three of us to confirm that some parts of the manifest simply did not exist.”
“Convenient.”
He shot her a knowing look of agreement. He gestured to the mountain of papers and envelopes on his desk, “This is the result of those exchanges.”
Her heart skipped a beat as his glance returned to her. The quiet intensity in his eyes never ceased to strike her.
“I've been scouring for clues, but... nothing stands out,” he said, rubbing his beard and leaning over his papers, “Any thoroughly incriminating evidence must have been among the redactions.”
“Still, there might be something they missed. Even a fake name or suspicious piece of cargo might be of interest to us,” Rook replied, and when Lucanis nodded, she then continued, “Have you shared this with Neve, yet? Following this sort of paper trail is her bread and butter.”
“Ah no, not yet,” Lucanis swallowed, “I wanted to reach a conclusion on my own before getting a second opinion.”
Rook sighed. She knew the real reason was that he was still sorting out who among the Veilguard he could trust. She had earned his good opinion through ceaseless dedication, honesty, and an uncanny ability to help him through his arguments with Spite. The hot, soul-bearing sex had probably helped, as well. The others on the Veilguard team, however, had presumably not been so lucky.
“Well, there is one thing. Something I expected to see that, conspicuously, wasn't there.”
“What?”
“I don't want to say. Not yet. Not until I'm sure.”
She sighed. This was a lot. “You know, your grandmother suspected that you were betrayed. By an ally.”
He stared blankly, “She said that? To you? When?”
“When Neve and I first met with Crows regarding your whereabouts. Before we met.” Rook fiddled with one of the pens on his desk, “She said it was why she didn't tell anyone about the fake body at your wake. She didn't know who to trust.”
“Mi amor. That is an important detail,” His forehead creased with frustration and he rubbed his furrowed brow, “Why didn't you mention it earlier?”
“I planned to tell you eventually, but I knew the rest of the Crows were looking into it and would report to you if they found anything. Besides, I didn’t want to add to your worries if there wasn’t anything you could do in the meantime.” She shook her head, “You had enough on your plate.”
“That is for me to decide, Rook. I know you were trying to protect me. But that was for me to decide.”
“I'm sorry. I... should have told you sooner.”
“I'm a big boy. Don't leave me in the dark.”
He could feel Spite weaving a sickly web in the back of his mind. She hides. She lies. And you think she loves you? He fought against the thoughts, knowing Spite's only interest was in isolating him further.
He met her pleading eyes and sighed; he was utterly unable to stay angry at her. “That changes things. She may have kept records of her thoughts on the matter somewhere... But where?”
The obvious place to look would be their ancestral home, however, this was Caterina they were talking about. She had kept a million secrets, and probably had a million different places to stash them. Plus, if Caterina had been correct, and the traitor was a close ally, it's possible they may have already been beaten to the punch, with any evidence destroyed or altered... But even if so, it was another lead.
He wondered briefly if she might have kept a safety deposit box in a bank vault somewhere. As next of kin, he would be able to get his hands on it, but anyone else would likely have more trouble. Anyone else except...
He thought for a moment, and then asked, “Who else knows about that little tidbit?”
“Uh, just those of us who were in the room, I assume.” She counted on her fingers, “Teia, Viago, Neve, and your cousin.”
“Illario?” He paled and she nodded, “Shit.”
“Why, what's wrong?” She paused in her tracks, blood running cool in her veins, “You suspect him.”
“He was supposed to be on that ship with me, but ran off on a 'job' last minute. If he bought a ticket, his name would have been on the manifest next to mine, but it wasn't. The page was ripped out.” He growled, “I know. Convenient.”
“Your own cousin? Luca, but why would he-?” She stopped, her mouth becoming dry, “Oh.”
“Oh?”
More secrets. Spite hissed.
“I've been... spending some casual friend time with Teia.”
He raised an eyebrow. This was news to him. Not good or bad. Just... news.
“What? She's fun! And I think when she and Viago finally hook up, they'll be great for double dates.”
He cracked the slightest hint of a smile. He actually liked that idea, even if the chances were slim. Those two were utterly hopeless.
“Anyway, she told me about your rivalry.”
“Rivalry? What rivalry? There is no rivalry.” At least, no more than any other set of boy-cousins around a similar age.
“She also told me you'd say that,” she chuckled dryly, “That Illario was always comparing himself to you but you always brushed it off.”
“What? No, that's a misreading of the situation,” he shook his head, “No, I was just older, and so he followed me around like a puppy.”
“Vhenan, I love you. But you are literally brushing it off right now,” he let out an annoyed little groan, and she continued, “You were Caterina's favorite. Everyone thinks you should be the heir. He's barely even a contender. He's jealous.”
He blinked. He had considered Illario a suspect, but hadn't been able to pin down a compelling motive. There had been conflicts in their past, over everything from jobs to girls, sure, but enough to collaborate with their enemies to take down family?
And jealousy? What even was a little jealousy among relatives, anyway? He was jealous of Illario's even bronze skin, ease with women, and ceaseless, grating charm, but he would never wish him harm over it. They were different, yes, but that was what made their friendship work.
Still, he was pulled back to the Wigmaker job. That entire night, Illario had seemed preoccupied with the possibility that Lucanis would be selected by Caterina to take on the role of First Talon in her stead. In fact, Illario had asked on one - no - two separate occasions, what Lucanis would do if she tapped him. In response, Lucanis had been honest and told him that he had no desire for the role, and would prefer Illario have it for himself. But he'd also been honest that Caterina could force him into it if she wanted to, and that they would need a plan to convince her to name Illario instead. And at the time, Lucanis had assumed that was enough to sate him.
But maybe he'd gotten impatient. Maybe he was more ambitious than Lucanis had given him credit for? Maybe he wanted his dear cousin out of the picture entirely?
Fuck off, Spite. I feel you in there. The entity merely cackled and retreated to the deeper parts of his sub-conscious, done stoking his fire, for now.
Truthfully, Illario was only a somewhat skilled stealth infiltrator, but he certainly had enough skill to break into a lightly-guarded private shipyard and alter the records unseen. If the Venatori had reached out to him and made him an offer... maybe let him in on the plan to get rid of their Demon problem...
The simmering in Lucanis's blood turned to a boil. That made motive, means, and opportunity. He gripped the armrests of his chair so hard he thought they might break. After a few tense moments, he bit his thumb and muttered under his breath, “Ay, ese mierdito. Imbécil. ¡Bastardo, coño!” He clenched his fist.
The air in the library was thick with silence. It wasn't a huge outburst; he'd hardly moved, but still, Rook was surprised. She didn't have to speak Antivan to know that he was angrier than she'd ever seen him. This was highly unusual, to say the least, and she wasn't sure what to do. It was far more common for her to have to pry his feelings out of him, or ply him with alcohol or affection to get him to emote at all. And even then, even with Spite's chiding haunting his waking thoughts, she'd never seen him so volatile. And yes, the circumstances were dire, but there were still so many unknowns.
“Luca, please. We don't know it was him.” She firmly placed her hand on the table and leaned towards him, “Besides, doesn't this all feel a little too easy? Anyone – anyone – could have requested copies of these documents. They're public record. Whoever did this knew we would get them eventually.”
“So?”
“So... The page was removed. His name might have been on it, but we can't know now. This could all be a frame job to tear you two apart when you need each other.”
He blinked hard, breathing heavy, slowly coming down from his rage.
“You're right. You're right. Thank you.” He took her hand and gave it a little kiss, “I'm sorry I-”
“We need more information,” she interrupted his apology. It wasn't necessary. Not from him. Not now. His rage, though perhaps momentarily misdirected, was perfectly valid in her eyes. And she knew that when the time was right, it would be useful.
He gave her hand a little rub with his thumb and then let it go. He took a deep breath. He fastened the nearest group of papers with a paper clip and set them down on the desk in a neat stack. He took another deep breath, firmly gripping the desk's edge. He needed to set aside his feelings and think clearly. Think. After a moment, he looked up at her.
“Let's set up a meeting with Teia and Viago. You, me and Neve. If we meet at Caterina's, we can kill two birds with one stone: go through her effects to see if we can dig up anything, and get a status report on anything they've uncovered through their investigations.”
“That's a good plan, Luca.”
He nodded. To anyone else, his expression might look neutral, but Rook knew him well enough by now to see the distress clearly on his face. Something about where he held his tension, probably. To be surrounded by so many enemies, and not know who to trust? Her heart sank for him. No wonder it had taken so long for him to open up to her.
“I hate seeing you like this, vhenan.” She reached out and placed a tender hand on his jaw. “Come.”
She pulled him into a warm embrace, and he melted into her, nuzzling into her neck as she snaked her arms around to stroke his hair and lower back.
“We will find who did this. I promise you."

im also anti proship but calling rugrats porn drawings "child porn" really dilutes the severity of actual child porn. we shouldnt be confusing actual cp that hurts real children with just weirdos drawing porn of cartoon characters that happen to be kids, the two things are not at all on the same level
ok i suppose this was inevitable, i may as well get into it.
(CW for some discussion of CSA and child pornography, obviously)
first off, "i'm also anti proship but" is a terrifying way to start your message, and to go and follow it up with some extremely common proship copypasta i've heard a million times about "taking attention/resources/severity/etc away from real CSA victims" or whatever kinda makes me wonder how "anti proship" you actually are...?
kind of the point of this whole debate is typically that "proship" folks insist that fiction, or in this case "porn of cartoon characters that happen to be kids" as you put it, has no effect on reality or people's mindsets. and so-called "antis" like myself generally respond to this idea with something along the lines of "well it sure seems to affect the reality of your cock and balls", and point out how repeatedly consuming media with a particular focus or message has been shown time and time again to quantifiably influence the way people view the world around them, in ways that subsequently affect how they act, or desensitize them to things that might otherwise upset/offend them. y'know, like political propaganda! or blockbuster movies about killer sharks! obviously some people are going to be more resilient against that sort of influence when the real-world equivalent of "porn of cartoon characters that happen to be kids" is something so blatantly unacceptable, and nobody is really claiming that the impact of fictional CP is "on the same level" as its IRL counterpart.
but at the very least, most people who would be considered "anti proship" WILL tell you "hey, i'm not trying to say that you jerking it to twitter porn of Gwen Tennyson or Tails or whatever is LITERALLY THE SAME as committing CSA, but it's still really fucking concerning and creepy that the majority of your sexual fixations are all specifically cutesy vulnerable cartoon characters under the age of 12, many of whom also have canonical adult designs that you conveniently avoid in favor of sexualizing the ones that are barely old enough to learn long division. you should maybe do some introspection and figure out why that is and whether or not you're really comfortable with what it implies about you. personally i know I'M not comfortable with that shit and i'm not going to keep hanging around you unless you make some serious changes." except usually in my experience the conversation ends up being a lot shorter and ends in a block pretty quickly. like i'm not a psychologist and i don't keep a bunch of studies on hand to throw at you about how fictional CP is often a factor in grooming, but i DO have a brain and can pretty clearly see when someone is rationalizing behavior that will lead them to places i'm not willing to follow.
ANYWAYS to focus more specifically on the actual reason we're talking about this (which was, to be clear, a mobile ad Tumblr served me that depicted one of the dads from Rugrats having sex with his 3yo daughter): yes, actually, that shit IS illegal to create or distribute. it's not the SAME as literal photographs of real children, OBVIOUSLY, but it's still also extremely fucked up in its own right, and any reasonable person in your life would probably stop talking to you if you told them you got off to it.
don't believe me about the legality part? check this out:
so like, I GUESS you might get some legal leeway with cub furry art or sonic porn or stuff that isn't always obvious in how much it's intended to parallel real children? if you really care? but this ad was literally multiple illustrations of a human adult man having intercourse with a human toddler. it's pornography centered around openly fetishizing the sexual assault of a child by a parent. i fail to see how referring to that in shorthand as "child porn" is inaccurate in any way that matters.
and Tumblr is a US-based company, beholden to the laws shown above, so they are at least somewhat responsible when illustrated pedophilic incest porn gets shown to thousands of their mobile app users in an ad they got paid to display. THAT was the original point i was making in my post. but thank you for trying to derail it to interrogate my "anti proship" views or whatever, i have had multiple people send me fairly nasty asks about it in the past year and you finally caught me in a moment when i was already pissed enough about something else that i felt like going off about this stuff. sorry if you actually agreed with most of this and i came off as overly rude/harsh, but if that's the case then this response is for all the other anon asks and replies i've gotten too, i guess.
now we're all clear about where i stand and i hopefully don't need to talk about this again - it's kind of a fucking bummer to think about this stuff and i've been avoiding the subject intentionally. you are always welcome to just block me if you have a problem

So you actively and loudly dislike El/Henry as a ship, calling it disgusting, but you support Brenner/Henry? You even recognize the nuance of problematic ships? But you're still wildly against El/Henry, when I know for a fact the Brenner/Henry fanfics are wayyyy darker and wayyy more fucked up than the majority of El/Henry fics. Make it make sense. The hypocrisy is staggering.
Okay, I'll indulge this one.
First off...You're misinterpreting the situation entirely. I think all this has r/woosh'd you a little.
I never said people can't write eIhenry fics. I said eIhenry disgusts me, personally. That's called having a squick, also known as having an opinion, and everyone is entitled to their own. I've never told anyone they have to read or enjoy Brenner/Henry. People are more than allowed to dislike the ship for literally any reason.
On that note, I've never told eIhenry shippers that they can't make their content. I'm anti-censorship, because (as we all know) censorship is a slippery slope. I block eIhenry shippers because I don't want to see their content. Every time a new eIhenry post pops up in the tag, I block the op and anyone in the notes of the post...because that post isn't for me, and I only want to see posts I enjoy. I block the shippers when I see them...so that I no longer see content that upsets me. They can do whatever they want forever, I just don't want to see it.
That's called "curating your space", and I think more people (you and your buddies included) need to engage in that behavior. Don't like, don't read...and more importantly: don't make your squicks the author's problem. I guarantee you, the author does not care, nor are they obligated to be a safe space for you specifically.
As for the reasons eIhenry squicks me but Brenner/Henry doesn't, here are the top 3:
First, canonically speaking, Henry's only ever known El when she was a child. Brenner, on the other hand, also knows Henry as a grown man. The audience knows Henry as a grown man. It's not me aging up anyone, it's me going "yes, they know each other as adults, they're both adults, green light", because that connection exists between them as adults in canon. We have an adult Henry actor. We don't have an adult El actor. El is never portrayed as being over 18. Thus, we've only ever seen her as a child. This means eIhenry shippers are looking at a child and going "yeah, I could ship that with an adult". There's a difference between seeing a relationship between two adults that can be explored, and seeing a solely-child character and going "yes, I want to ship this 14-year-old with her 30-some-year-old brother-father".
Second, Henry is referred to as both a sibling and a parent to El. They're family in the familial, platonic sense.
Third, Henry's gayer than a rainbow flag in June. So. I fundamentally disagree with the idea that he would be into her regardless of the above points.

You gotta love drama and discourse in the creepypasta fandom sometimes. When people present to you actual evidence of a canon characters age and you call them a pedophile and say their evidence is paper thin when its not, and proceed to say that they are making you look like an asshole when theyre literally not? Im sorry bro, youre the asshole with no reading comprehension. Im so tired of the mindsets of people in this fandom where if you write any of these characters as an adult, then youre just automatically a pedophile. I really hope OP didnt deactivate because you or some of yojr dumbass lackeys harassed them into leaving.
Grow the fuck up. You and people like you are whats wrong with this fandom. Leave people who are minding their own business alone

So it’s becoming increasingly likely Ellee is gonna be the next Cure in some way, or at the very least someone related to her in some way. I’d be a bit disappointed if that happens, especially if it’s “Ellee wants to help the Precure and uses her powers to magically age herself up to a middle-schooler so she can fight”. I think that’s because I just generally don’t like that trope. Probably for a few reasons.
It feels like a very immature kind of wish fulfilment. Like, young kids love pretending they’re grown-up because they think it’s cool, but not because they actually want to be more responsible. They’re not even mature enough to understand what being responsible is like. They just want a situation where they get what they want (looking big and strong and getting to wear adult clothing) without having to deal with any of the consequences that come with that.
Because I feel like that happens a lot with these kinds of characters, too? There’s conflicts where they want to go to school or try something grown-up with their friends but they don’t understand why they do these things in the first place, and instead of having to face consequences for their actions when they make selfish decisions, the characters have to cut them some slack because “hey they were literally a baby a few weeks ago”.
When you combine that with them often having exclusive Sixth Ranger powers that make them stronger than anyone else in the team (because lore reasons or maybe just cause it makes their toys more appealing if they look special in the show itself) ...basically, the ‘grown-up magical baby’ characters end up being really obnoxious. They get to act incredibly immature and cause problems for everyone while not having to face any consequences and also stealing the spotlight when any sort of magical action scenes happen because they’re super OP.
examples being: Hana from Ojamajo Doremi, Kotoha from Mahotsukai, in a way kinda Chibiusa and maybe Milky Rose
I hope Hirogaru Sky doesn’t do that, especially after how different Tsubasa and Ageha were for a magical girl show. But I am also not 4 years old, so it’s not like these shows live and die by catering to my tastes in particular.

hiii again gen z mutual from the other day here, i wanted to let you know that yes i did read everything and enjoyed too!
regarding the issue of using "old" too loosely and using it to make weird ageist comments, i understand your concern and i agree. although i haven't seen that much towards other people in the spn fandom but more towards actors like to wish a happy birthday to them i saw people saying "grandpa" and that was very odd (wasn't on tumblr though). also about your point about how busy adults have time for fandom, the way you wrote that was quite moving and very real.
regarding destiel you had a super insightful answer, which i was not expecting but was super appreciated i'm gonna try to reply slightly more in depth, sorry i don't remember the order but several points were made:
- 40 is absolutely canon dean age and in no way old and dying at any age below like 80 is quite young so yeah absolutely dean is not old
- regarding them getting old and being put in a heteronormative box, i agree on that so much and i hate those stereotypes with a passion too. i will say i get the appeal of the more white picket fence life, the suburban lifestyle or baby jack in art, it's downright delusional but it's the kind of dream that leads to seeing them happy which is heart-warming. thankfully there are wonderful exceptions that are realistic enough to want to indulge in them especially for AUs. i'm not immune to high quality fluff is all
- i LOVED the super realistic headcanons you had for dean and cas and i need you to know how incredibly interesting and CORRECT they are (the cas being too frustrated to garden too real)
long story short: no offense taken i appreciated your in-depth reply and if you read all this you're the hero ;)
(re this convo)
i am genuinely so happy my thoughts didn't look smth like 'old woman yelling at cloud' :') your answer is very sweet, thank you
the 'old' thing i mostly see on twt because here i follow those who'd never say smth like this in an ageist way but well even here some posts like this can still reach my blog through the vine but usually it's people already rightfully grumbling at the op so <3
about destiel - thank you again, usually people don't really like my way of thinking about them or are simply not interested in that (no offense to each their own) and i'm just doing my thing with a close circle of weirdos but sometimes it do be lonely. so you saying you find my thoughts interesting means a lot 💜 and of course, there are works (fics, art etc) that nail even the happy-fluffy-white-fence concepts and i enjoy them despite me not being a fluff loving person really. and sure, aus are literally for this - discovering different paths for the characters and if it's done in a compelling way - cheers
i can talk for a long ass time about all my hcs (hashtag just girl things) it's just i usually don't receive a lot of feedback on them so i keep them to one on one chats mostly, but you're always welcome to ask me stuff or just chat, i love chatting (even tho i guess i can be seen as an angry intimidating person sometimes because...well. i am angry at a lot of things sighhh)
anyway thank you again, i really enjoyed both answering your asks and reading your reply 🌷

Class Choice Week 2 Day 2: Mob Psycho 100 (S1E1, S1E5, S2E5, S3E6)
I remember wanting to watch this show, but I never got around it because I wanted to watch other shows on my anime list. I actually watched all of the released One Punch Man episodes, and I found out the mangaka also made Mob Psycho 100, and it's quite obvious the art style is practically the same. The animation from the anime is a little below OPM, but the humor is still the same.
I'm just going to compare to OPM, because the reaction so far is not much.
Mob is quite the opposite of Saitama in the sense that one is so casual and knows about his God-level power (literally 95% of his fights with villains of any kind end up with their complete destruction all on accident. Like, he even says he tried to hold back to make the fight last a little longer, but he is so OP, that is why he is OPM as he ends almost all fights in one punch), the other is apathetic, fears his powers, and doesn't realize how OP he really is, but after episode 5, I think he knows how powerful he is, he is too afraid to admit it. Also, one has hair and the other doesn't, but I don't think they are of any symbolic meaning. In addition, Mob and Saitama have reversed roles in that Saitama is a teacher for Genos, while Mob is Reigen's student. The power dynamic is also reversed; Saitama is overly powerful, and Genos tags along to learn from Saitama, hoping to grow stronger, but Saitama is not really into growing and even struggles to impart proper "sensei" knowledge to his eager student. Sometimes, he even makes stuff up to not let him down. Reigen is nearly useless compared to Mob, though it is an unfair comparison, but he still tries to act like the all-knowing master.
Reigen would be a great sensei like Saitama, if not for his over-confident, if not arrogant, behavior. While Saitama is confident and is a powerful person to become someone's teacher, Reigen does not even have any actual psychic abilities, yet he pretends to be secretly powerful to justify why he lets Mob do his work for him and why Mob should listen to him. In a way, it mocks the employer-intern dynamics by showing how power-conceited adults will use the talented and naive children's minds to get away with their deception and hang on the coattails of others' work. However, he still has wisdom (let's say it's in the age because I have a feeling mocking this character will not bode well) and gives Mob some sound advice, sometimes. Although, it would make sense why Mob would learn from him. Like it or not, Reigen is confident in himself, no matter how little he has. Also, he knows what it's like to actually be nothing, as a nobody himself, and he helps Mob find empathy in others, like in his fight against Hanazuwa.
Season 2 and Season 3 seem to focus on Mob using his power while also balancing his own mental health. Because his power is psychic and not physical, he can actually hide it if he wants, but it's clear he can't repress it forever. Others who know about the intensity of his powers will all try to "awaken" the entity within him. But because of hearing Reigen's and Dimple's words, he comes back to himself. We see he becomes less afraid of what he is and focuses on who he can be instead.
I think some context like a filler intro would be nice, but that again would be selfish to ask given how most people aren't skipping whole seasons to watch an individual episode like for this course.
At least in the episodes watched, we have yet to see the anatomically accurate version of Mob. In OPM, when Saitama actually gets serious or gets angered, he gets a jawline instead of his egg head. Obviously no eggheads for Mob, and he is a middle/high school kid so I don't expect sharp jawlines for him, but we only get that one scene in Season 2 episode 5 when he is fighting with happiness and his eyes sparkle and stuff.
When that one kid starts going, "pspsps" at the dark alley.

Don’t be surprised when you start losing a lot of followers for being an anti
Why do you care so much abt other people’s ships anyways
BAHAHAHAHAHA UR FUNNY LETS TEAR YOU APART SHALL WE?
What a vain and shallow assumption you are under for believing that I care about how many followers I have. I do not care for the quantity of my followers, only the quality💀 but I have well over 1K followers and they keep growing if you are worried or something💀💀
And why do I care about other people's ships? Well, I'd love to support my mutuals's ships because I think they're cute but since the context is me being an "anti" I assume you are talking about people who enjoy incestuous, pedophilic, and/or large age gap ships?
Because they are absolutely insane and dangerous to those who are easy to manipulate who most of the time are minors? What a ridiculous world we live in that someone is confused on why you shouldn't be glorifying incest or pedophilia.
Pro-shipping is absolutely the most chronically online take I've ever seen in my damn life.
Like few years ago, there was this post where the op wrote "William x Mimosa" and "Fuego x Noelle" I remember the Fuego x Noelle thing being a misunderstanding but my god was that blog torn apart. Where is that energy now folks?
"It's only fiction! I want to explore these dynamics in fiction!"
Absolutely! I encourage exploring taboo concepts in fiction! But you are portraying it as something bad, right? Right?
Of course you are not!
Racism, homophobia, pedophilia, incest are all what? Say it with me: Bad.
I am not saying that people who write about them are bad, but the concepts themselves are not stuff you endorse. You don't need me to explain why they're all bad right? But if you live under a rock or in fairyland where nothing ever bad happens, let me explain.
Racism hurts people. Physically and mentally.
Homophobia hurts people. Physically and mentally.
Pedophilia hurts children. Physically and mentally.
Incest hurts children and adults. Physically and mentally.
I write about all of these topics in my fics but never have I once portrayed them in a good light. I don't pretend to ship or endorse any incest or pedophilic relationships I write. I don't portray racist and homophobic characters as good people. I write how much it hurts to be in those positions. I write about the confusion, the betrayal, the pain.
And what do I see proshippers doing on my dash? Fucking glorifying it.
I used to think, that's their thing, let them enjoy it but then I realized: There is a good reason why we shut down racists and homophobes and don't allow them safe spaces, why do we allow the same for people who FANTASIZE about disgusting things and put them on the internet.
Wake up to reality. Your behavior will make parents hide their children from you.
"What is fictious does not apply to reality!"
Are you serious my guy? Joining a fandom changed my life. Stanning Julius made me a better artist, writer, and made me more motivated to study quantum mechanics. My professors and my thesis advisors literally know of Julius because of me💀 I care so much about thinking about the underlying themes of BC and any other fiction I consume and see how it challenges my beliefs and my way of thinking. You may not consume fiction the way I do! But it most definitely affects reality💀
If you want a historical example, Harriet Beecher Stowe's "Uncle Tom's Cabin" converted many people to abolitionism because it brought attention to the horrible conditions of slavery.
And I can give you many, many, many examples about how fiction affects reality. But not in a one to one ratio. Just because I play COD or MW2 does not mean I want to pick up a gun and start shooting my friends.
"It is my coping mechanism for my trauma!"
Then book an appointment to a psychiatrist and tell them about this pro-shipping. See how that conversation would go down. Find a healthy coping mechanism. Nobody in their right mind endorses self-harm through unhealthy coping mechanisms.
To end it off, I'll say what I've said earlier,
What a luxury it must be to fantasize about incest, pedophilia and other BS like that in a positive manner when it is a nightmarish reality to many people.
I come from an ethnic culture where this is all so normal and the cycle of abuse continues. I don't want to talk about how it personally affected me because it is personal but, seek help. If you cannot, find healthy coping mechanisms. Pour all your pain out into art and writing if you must, but don't pretend for a second that it is good.
#anon#absolutely bonkers how people say this stuff LMAOO#thx for whispering🥰#tw proshitter#tw proshippers

Stupid vent ignore this but I'm mad about something.
It's been over a year since someone in the Sonic community accused me of being a creep because I had poorly phrased how much I like the character (prompt went, to best of my memory, are you normal about Sally Acorn? Which I responded "I'm sooo in love with her!" Which I didn't intend that in any form of a literal sense. It was poor phrasing on my part. The OP called me out saying how as an adult I shouldn't be talking about a minor aged character like that. I apologized, removed my post, explained it wasn't intended that way. Got called a creep anyway.)
I've gotten some serious internet hate before although most of it themed around my TA&TA fic. But this has stung me bad and still makes me mad and cry whenever I unfortunately remember it.
Just fucking drives me up the wall. Yes I am an adult in a fandom who's characters are teen and kids. I have also been in this fandom since I was 5 years old.
I am also extremely asexual. And I am also extremely sexually traumatized.
I get it's only one person who misinterpreted my statement and didn't care to accept my apology and explanation that it was a mistake. But it was a poor choice of words. It's not like I drew or wrote smut of the character.
The internet has buzzed some lately after Kotaku released an article about pornography featuring video game characters. With Sonic being the highest ranking male character and 6th most highest overall.
*cue my gagging*
Seeing folks tweet about that has just made that stupid interaction hurt again and again then learning shortly ago that an official artist is drawing porn of them. For fucks sake. I'm not someone who's contributing to that at all. Not on Pornhuh. Not on Ao3. I don't make it, I don't want it, I block on sight. I don't engage with sexual content. I don't want it. Meanwhile
Ken Penders. Adam Bryce Thomas. And I'm sure they aren't the only ones. Folks who have worked on the series officially. Making gross statements and suggestive or downright pornographic art of characters.
The Ao3 tag for Sonic being downright unuseable without filters because some much smut content is made for it.
And then the statistics Kotaku pulled there.
I know it's dumb to still be frustrated over but fucking hell. These characters are so important to me. But not at all in a sexual way. And being called a creep because of a poor word choice just. God I can't bear it. Even if it's only a single person who thought it and frankly I'm sure has moved on plenty by now, the idea and fact of someone thinking of me as a creepy pervert for Sonic characters has me royally upset.

INTERVIEW WITH A WRITEBLR — @goldenempress
Who You Are:
The Empress || She/her
After 12 years and thousands of ideas, I have successfully curated a list of 10 WIPs to last me the rest of my life. I will not be taking criticism at this time.
What You Write:
What genres do you write in? What age ranges do you write for?
Action, adventure, comedy, fantasy, mystery, and paranormal. Young and New Adult.
What genre would you write in for the rest of your life, if you could? What about that genre appeals to you?
Slice of Life. Anything can happen in slice of life, because you can even follow the daily lives of superheroes or prophesied saviors. Everything is slice of life if you want it badly enough. And that's beautiful.
What genre/s will you not write unless you HAVE to? What about that genre turns you off?
Tragedy. Tried it once, but I hate being sad. Also romance. Because while I do love a good rom-com or rom-fan, I prefer to focus on platonic relationships in my writing.
Who is your target audience? Do you think anyone outside of that would get anything out of your works?
Me. I am my target audience. I would love it if literally anybody found something good about my work, but there are no guarantees, so pleasing other people is not on my priority list when it comes to writing. I know better than to engage in pyrrhic battles.
What kind of themes do you tend to focus on? What kinds of tropes? What about them appeals to you?
I like stories about people who are relentlessly devoted to each other to the point that other people are confused by it, because that's so soft and so beautiful and it means everything to me. I like stories about OP characters because I hate seeing my characters lose, which is very personal. And I like to combine those two ideas into one because it is the ultimate incarnation of chaos to watch over-powered people do whatever it takes to secure their loved ones' happiness. That's just my niche.
What themes or tropes can you not stand? What about them turn you off?
Anything sad, really. Yeah. That's it. That's bad vibes.
What are you currently working on? How long have you been working on it?
I'm currently working on 4x5 (title pending), which is a project that consists of 20 separate stories following the same 4 characters. I've been working on it for either 8 years or 15 months.
Why do you write? What keeps you writing?
I write because stories are all I think about. And because I love the characters in my stories and if I don't write them their happy endings, who will? And I keep writing because I can't not.
How long have you been writing? What do you think first drew you to it?
I've been writing for about 13 years, and honestly? No clue. Or, maybe reading. Yeah, no, that's it. I spend my entire childhood at the library, so was there ever any other option for me?
Where do you get your inspiration from? Is that how you got your inspiration for your current project? If not, where did the inspiration come from?
I get my inspiration from other stories. It can be a moment, a line of dialogue, a theme, an idea, a character's power or personality trait, a scenario, anything. If I loved to watch it or read it, then I want to see if I can apply it to my stories. My current project was indeed inspired by other stories. I can't get any more specific than that. Because I have no idea what the specifics are.
What works of yours are you most proud of? Why?
An 80,000 word unfinished story that has been permanently lost to time due to a corrupted hard drive and thumb drive. Those 80,000 words were the first act of the first installment of a trilogy and I wrote them when I was 11, but they're still the best thing I've ever done because I've never had as much fun as when I was writing that. That sort of pure joy is something I've been chasing ever since.
Have you published anything? Do you want to?
I did. Once. Briefly. And then I unpublished it because I was afflicted by crippling regret. I do eventually want to start self-publishing my own work, but I have to build up to it.
What part of the publishing process most appeals to you? What part least appeals to you? Why?
Umm… I can't say I know how to answer this question. Hmm. I like the idea of publishing because maybe someone, somewhere, someday will find my work beautiful and feel better because of it, even for a moment - the way the best stories make me feel. I don't like the idea of publishing because my stories never make me feel that way personally, and putting out something that I'm not truly happy with is maybe a little nauseating. See, the aforementioned crippling regret.
What part of the writing process most appeals to you? What part is least appealing?
I like planning the most and revising the least. Revising because I don't actually know how to revise and the very act of reading my own work can be demoralizing, which is very personal. Planning because when I'm conceptualizing and imagining, I get to soak myself in my ideas at their most pure.
Do you have a writing process? Do you have an ideal setup? Do you write in pure chaos? Talk about your process a bit.
I have a 10 to 11 step detailed process for planning my story. This ensures that I know everything that will happen in my story from start to finish before I ever sit down to write. There are occasional deviations, but most of the time, my plan is as inflexible as I am. And that's how I like it.
Your Thoughts on Writeblr:
How long have you been a writeblr? What inspired you to join the community?
I've been here for maybe 5 months and I joined the community because I wanted to get to know people who loved stories as much as I do.
Shout out some of your favorite writeblrs. How did you find them and what made you want to follow them?
I don't think I'm engaged enough in the community to comment on this properly. In spite of my best efforts, I've yet to actually find my footing here. Or maybe my efforts are just poor. Who knows?
What is your favorite part about writeblr?
I like when I get to see the project updates people post. Some people put together moodboards or character profiles or story summaries or quote - and I like the writing games.
What do you think writeblr could improve on? How do you think we can go about doing so?
I don't know enough about how it actually works to give any solid advice. I feel very lost on these things.
How do you contribute to the writeblr community? Do you think you could be doing more?
I don't contribute at all and I don't think I could be doing more because I don't really have much to offer. Which might be why I've yet to find my place in the community.
What kinds of posts do you most like to interact with?
I like to interact with posts that give me a real glimpse into the bet parts of a writer's world and characters. The posts that show what the writer thinks are the best parts. The posts that are really mostly inside jokes between the writer and their story. They're my favorite.
What kind of posts do you most like to make?
See the above.
Finally, anywhere else online we may be able to find you?
I've got a blog where I craft and post about writing and a youtube channel where I draw and talk about stories - my own and others'. Oh. And an Instagram.
Questions For Fun:
What is your favorite book you've read? Why?
I could never choose a favorite book in a million years and I'll cry if you make me.
If you could go back to yourself as a beginning writer, what would you tell yourself?
I would tell myself not to take other people's writing advice so seriously. I would read craft books and take them to heart and make myself miserable trying to follow their rules. It was a dark time in my writing life.
If you could have a conversation with any writer out there, alive or dead, who would it be and why? What would you say?
Agatha Christie probably. She was so prolific and so clever and so talented and I love mysteries and crime books, so she's something of a literary hero to me. I would just ask her… everything. What her process for developing mysteries was like, what her actual writing process was like, how long it took her to write, what she liked best about her stories - everything.

Intro <3 !
I go by Michelangelo or any variation of that
(usually michael/mikey but names dont mean much to me)
but i recently found out that i'm the host of a system so if any tags are signed off with a different name thats why
dont care too much abt pronouns but i typically use he/him, ve/vir, and xe/xir/xem. mix it up, get creative. typically dont use she/her but ynever know
body is 21, we're an aries if u wanna make any judgement off of that, autistic + adhd if that wasnt obvious
i do post occasional nfsw/suggestive content, never anything too crazy but if youre a minor id prefer if you didnt interact with those posts, i have no way of enforcing this as i dont check my notifs unless theres tags but i am a full adult, i do pay rent and bills and taxes. on that topic i probably wont follow you if youre under like. 16/17ish. no hard feelings i just am an adult and im not around kids very much as the 2nd youngest of 4 so. if youre under 16 dont do drugs stay in school all that good stuff. i love you, go to bed on time. i've been on this website since i was 11 and it shows. dont be me.
dms are always open ! i'm not amazing at holding a conversation unless its abt my current hyperfixation (rn its zelda/lu) but i love to yap. if you follow me and we're not mutuals dm/ask me and ill follow back! I don't rly pay attention to my followers so i typically don't follow ppl unless theyre consistently posting abt one of my interests and i remember to
I talk in the tags a LOT feel free to <- prev or rb addressing my tags but i typically assume no one will read them all the way through. i'm writing whole essays. im oversharing. call op a college admissions office bc I'm telling my whole life story. if my tags make you uncomfortable on your post please let me know and i will apologize/delete them if you wish. i dont have a concept of tmi and tend to misread/miss social cues/the vibes so i apologize if i misstep
please let me know if i reblog any stolen artwork/ai generated anything/ etc
