When Elvis comes back from tour, every time he’d have a gift for you. Rewarding you for being a good girl for him, leaving you at home to find ways to entertain yourself does make Elvis feel guilty and sad which is why he’d always come home with something. Of course he always makes sure there was someone you both trust to look over you, he would tell them to play with you whenever you wanted even if they had to pretend that they enjoy it just to keep you happy but that doesn’t stop him from feeling like he’s a bad caregiver, just leaving you while he goes off having a blast.

The gift he got you this time, he’s quite proud of and he was so excited when he sat you down on the living room couch and placed the wrapped up gift on your lap to open it. Your eyes lit up and a small gasp escaped your mouth, he got you a new book collection of children’s books. Not just any children’s books though, he got you your favourite ‘Winnie the Pooh’ picture books. Oh you couldn’t hold in your excitement when you saw the covers, manoeuvring them onto the couch for your legs to scatter up under you, giving Elvis a big hug as you happily squealed “I love them!”

Elvis was so glad you loved the books but when you started reading them, he noticed that he wasn’t getting your attention anymore. Although at first he didn’t mind it, he started feeling a little neglected. Without his baby’s hugs and kisses and now he’s determined to get your attention back.

Looking through every room in the house, he doesn’t find you in any of them until he peeks his head into his bedroom. Seeing you reading quietly, right in the middle of the bed with your legs folded under and little sooties wiggling. The sight makes him smile before he walks in and closes the doors behind him.

Keeping his eyes on his mission, he makes his way over to the bed, lifting a leg as he sits down and waits to see if you notice in which disappointedly you are so immersed in your new picture books that you don’t bat an eye. It makes him feel a ping of sadness if he had to be honest. His baby is too distracted to give him, your daddy, some affection.

With a small pout on his face, he reaches a hand to tap your hip gently “Darlin?” and that got your attention “mm?” turning your head around “Oh! Hi daddy” he snickers “Hi baby” but before he could say anything else, your head turns back at the book in your lap. His eyes saddening, he calls for you again “Little?” earning absolute silence. He clicks his tongue and shuffles closer behind you. Elvis slithers his arms around your waist and rests his chin on your shoulder “yittle?” he calls again in a softer tone.

Your eyebrows rise just barely and a hum emits, still keeping your eyes on the book.

Tightening his grip around you “Daddy’s missin’ ya” he drawls, you answer back with soft hum. Not really paying attention to him because you want to know what happens to Piglet.

Almost pains him that you don't seem to acknowledge him. Yes, you said hello, to him though that wasn't enough. Nuzzling his nose against your jaw a little and pecking your cheek, he mumbles “Baby” in a ‘notice me’ kind of tone but it doesn't phase you.

He groans slightly and sighs, starting to lose hope until an idea pops up. A small grin grows on his face and his hands retract a little to your sides. This would have to work, Elvis begins tickling you and watches your face. His grin falls when he hears you whine and push his hands away.

Oh what is he gonna do?

He mutters an “Alright…” and lets you have your space by lying on his side next to you, his head propped up with his hand, facing you as his feet slide under his pillow. He pouts again as he watches you suck your thumb, Elvis reaches up and pulls your hand away from your mouth, secretly hoping that would grab your attention but it only just makes you move your hand to rest on the book. Your eyes stayed glued to the story.

He sighs again and rolls onto his back. “Yittle” extending the word with a bored voice, earning another hum from you “hm?” running his fingers through his hair “Can ya stop reading for a moment? Daddy's wanting a hug..” he asks, you hum again “Mhm…just wait Daddy” you say with a lifted finger. He groans again and decides to just wait til you're finished which seems like you're finishing up anyways.

The moment you close the book and look at Elvis, his face lights up “Ya done readin’?” and when you nod. He throws himself onto you making you lay flat on the bed and Elvis wraps his arms around you tightly as you giggle and squeal and kick your feet. “Daddy!” playfully munching on your neck, mumbling against your skin.

“I regret buying ya those books, they takin’ my baby away f’om me”

Ahhh those costume designs are so flippin’ cool!!!

I absolutely adore Uraraka’s halo helmet, that is the cutest idea that suits her overall look so well! I love the idea of her doing some combo moves with Bakugou and he just accidentally grabs and yanks it, throwing her at the villains by her head 😂 Plus the jet pack is such a smart idea, I have no idea why it’s not canon, she would be so fast in the air! And yes to NO HEELS 👏 👏 👏 So impractical.

Bakugou’s costume is soo sick too!! I like how much you pushed his design, and the X extending looks so good!?? Like how has no one done that before!?! And the tiny gauntlets are beautiful, I love the idea of him just chucking grenades at his classmates all the time now, whether they catch it or not is up to them. And the gloves are *chefs kiss* magnificent 🤌

Thanks so much for sharing these amazing designs, you totally went all out and I appreciate it so much!!! I’m also glad you’re taking care of yourself, you absolutely deserve all the love and praise. Your art is beautiful and thoughtful and should absolutely get all the attention.

It was a cold December day, the leaves were frozen off the trees and the floor was covered in snow. The park was in no condition to be played on, but children still went there to play with their friends in the snow. 

Draco and his son, Scorpius, were disliked by many. People were still wary of Draco because of all of the death eater and Voldemort drama, meaning that they passed that fear and hatred down to their children.

Scorpius had a hard time making friends, and to be honest, he didn’t have any which broke Draco’s heart. So, Draco brought him to the park everyday in hopes that someone would want to be friends with his son.

 Being a single dad was tough, Astoria had left for reasons unknown, she just left the moment Scorpius was born and left Draco with a son to raise on his own.

��Scorpius, look at me,” Draco told his son, who looked adorable bundled up in black and blue winter coats. “I want you to talk to some kids, don’t mention me, just talk to them,” Draco told his son, it was the same thing that he told Scorpius every time. 

Scorpius nodded very big and said, “Okay daddy!” before running off to go play in the snow. Draco smiled and sat down on a bench. 

While people walked by, Draco tried to smile at them but they just glared. He rolled his eyes slightly and leaned back into the bench with a huff. “I shouldn’t have been such a jerk,” he groaned and leaned back while covering his eyes, rubbing them slightly before removing his hands and putting them back in his lap. 

He looked over at all of the kids to see Scorpius trying really hard to make friends, that made Draco smile. He looked around a bit, taking in the scenery of the sunny but cold day. 

He then looked back over at the group of kids, but to his dismay, Scorpius wasn’t making friends anymore. Actually, Scorpius wasn’t there at all. 

Draco stood up and tried to look around to see if he could find Scorpius from a higher angle. “Scorpius?” he called out, there was nothing. Draco started to panic, “Scorpius?!” he shouted again. 

He frantically speed walked around the park, looking under everything, even pushing aside some snow in hopes that he would find his 5 year old son. 

While he was frantically walking around, he bumped into something. “Ah!” both people groaned as they stepped away. 

“Hey! Watch where you’re- Draco?” you stopped suddenly. Draco met your eyes, “Y/l/n?”. 

“Draco!” you exclaimed, “I haven’t seen you in forever!”. 

His heart thumped at your angelic voice. “Y-Yeah, me neither!” Draco mentally scolded himself, “Ya, no shit Draco,” he mumbled making you giggle. He smiled slightly, now his heart was beating out of his chest, it wasn’t only from panicking about Scorpius, it was the fact that he had been in love with you all throughout school, and apparently still was. 

Speaking of Scorpius, “I’m sorry, it’s not a good time. My son is somewhere making snow angels,” he told you, he didn’t want to leave but he needed to find Scorpius, he was his one priority. 

“Your… what?” you blinked, your throat going dry. “My son, his name is Scorpius, have you seen him? I don’t know where he is,” Draco said shakily hurriedly. “Oh,” you croaked out, “um, no I haven’t,” it went silent for a second. 

“Where is his mom?” you asked, hoping that Draco was single. “Oh, she left when he was born. It’s been me and the little guy for 5 years, he’s the best thing to have ever happened to me. Well besides seeing you here today,” he flirted, making your cheeks flush red. 

“You’re still the same, flirty and arrogant,” you laughed, “oh how I missed that,” you sighed. You too, coincidentally, have been in love with him since first year. 

Before Draco could respond, his head snapped in the direction of a child screaming, “Daddy!”. “Scorpius!” he exclaimed, holding out his arms and catching a body who rammed into him, “Oh thank godric, you’re alright. You scared me buddy.”. 

Scorpius mumbled a ‘sorry daddy’ before looking over at you. “Hi Y/n!” he greeted and waved. “Oh, hi little man,” you said and waved back. 

“Have you met my friend, Y/n. I met her while I was looking for you, she insisted that she helped me find you, but I told her I was tough enough to find you,” he said and puffed out his chest and flexed his muscles, making you and Draco laugh. 

“Yes, I have met her, she and I used to go to school together,” Draco told him, Scorpius gasped. “You mean, we have the same friend?! Does that mean she can come over? You said friends can come over!” he exclaimed giddily. 

Draco looked up at you, “Would you like to come over love?”. You blushed even more and said, “Only if you want me too.”. “We would love for you to come over,” Draco smiled.  

“She’s very pretty, don’t you agree daddy?” Scorpius asked and cocked his head up to his dad. Draco looked over at you and looked at all of your features, you were still perfect to him. 

“I think she is very pretty too,” he told him while smiling at you. “Aw, stop it, you’re making me blush,” you giggled and then shivered a bit, it was getting really cold. 

“Is she coming over? I want her to come over!” Scorpius asked impatiently while stomping his feet. “I think she would like that, it is rather freezing out here,” Draco looked at you, “you’re shaking.”. “Y-Yeah, it’s a bit chilly,” you chattered and rubbed your arms, trying to get warm. 

“Come here,” Draco said and took off one of his coats, it looked expensive. “Oh no, it’s quite alright,” you brushed him off and shivered once more. 

“I insist,” he said and wrapped it around your shoulders. You were instantly filled with warmth. 

“Alright,” Draco said and picked up Scorpius with a huff, “let’s go m’lady and m’lord.”. You giggled as Draco pulled you into his side while you started to walk. 

To anyone on the outside, you would have looked like a small family, but only you and Draco knew that it was the start of something beautiful.

This is an appreciation post for the things I flippin loved in the last two episodes of Fionna and Cake!

First of all I was so happy to see Shermy and Beth, I really liked the sequences of them in the future land of Ooo and seeing them again brought me back.

I literally love that plot of Simon's mind being sent to Shermy for some reason, I like the detail of his ears going down to represent Simon's hair, and the cut-off's to Shermy's screaming xD It did seem a little random but we got to see Shermy and Beth again so I'm not complaining.

This brings me to the Casper and Nova part which I flippin ADORE! The scene with them flipping through the book was satisfying to me?? In some random way? Not only do I love the 3D-8-bit idk what to call it style of the game, the animated version was amazing.

JUST LOOK AT IT! The clay-like backgrounds and animation, the colors, the shading style, everything about this looks so nostalgic and amazing!! It kind of reminds me of that Tom and Jerry Tales show in a way, or those differently animated bits in Gumball. Wow!!

And this being a metaphor to help Simon realize all the sacrifices Betty made for him, and all of this leading to that flashback of him at the bustop. After realizing this, he wondered what could've been if he chose a different path, but just like the book...

You can't just go back and choose a different option. I flippin love how they showed this through Casper and Nova's book, and I also love Betty admitting they didn't make the greatest choices, but never regretting her love for Simon. I also love Capser and Nova being the result of Simon and Astrid being a good terms.

It's been shown that Simon is a dad at heart, and I was hoping they'd bring Astrid back in a way that related to that. Fionna and Simon started off the same, where he came off as a rude, sad old man. Once he told her more about himself, she finally saw him as who he is. I have a feeling the same happened with Astrid, where he told her stories of his life and she began to see him as Simon Petrikov instead of The Ice King, because she drew him in her sketchbook.

And he no doubt told her stories of Betty, which definitely inspired Casper and Nova's relationship. This is really sweet because in the beginning she only cared for his Fionna and Cake stories, those of which weren't actually his own. Now he tells her stories of his life that we see he's happy to talk about, and she was so invested in them it inspired an entire book.

Last thing that I want to talk about is this. Congratulations to Simon for getting therapy! You've got this.

I LOVE THE SMALL DETAILS FROM THE FLOWER SCAR GAVE GRIAN TO SCOTTS HOUSE BEING HIS LITERAL HOUSE OF NEW LIFE.

🥹💕💕💕 wahhhh thankies ;w; songbird definitely has,,, the most work I think I’ve ever put into a fic before? I love the story so much and uwawawawawa getting asks like this is always so nice 🥺 it makes me so happy to see how loved it is

it’s a little insane how much planning has to go into songbird DKFKDKFKK arc two alone was crazy to plot out and string all the details together, and arc three is double that. but I genuinely love it so much. I love the character work I get to do and all the little hints of things I get to drop along the way. it’s always !!! so reassuring when people comment on the characterization and it being good 🥺

to this day I think scar has my favorite character introduction and deconstruction. I adore characters who are introduced as antagonists or made to seem evil but are being puppeteered by someone else. and scar is definitely no exception to that :D I also think he’s just the perfect character too like? he’s introduced and immediately taking control of the narrative, dragging grian into his circus and trying to kill him. you have this image of scar as someone who’s extremely dangerous, he can’t be trusted, he’s bad. and I purposefully keep you out of scar’s head until the moment is right, before his betrayal. but you gets the hints of scar’s softer side, his true self, and his tragic story through grian’s pov. you start to see deeper into him and waugh. I love him so much

mumbo seeing (and his fear of) grum and jrum as his kids is so important to me, especially with his backstory reveal coming (yes, we’re finally getting mumbo’s backstory soon :3c). this man has been through so much, has tried to close his heart off so many times, to stomp out his own kindness but he can’t. he loves those boys so much, even while carrying his guilt for turning them, his guilt for living, and his self imposed punishment. and he’s just so :((( I want to give him a big hug

and then you have grian and pearl who are so silly with each other, will tease and poke fun, but you can see how much they care about one another. it’s so sweet :((( and such a big piece of their relationship and wahhhhh

the little details are !!! my favorite part of songbird I think—because that’s where I hide all of my little easter eggs and references and call backs!!! the poppies and lilacs scar gave to grian will be making a return and scott’s house being the one from new life just felt so correct to me 🥺 and that’s not even getting into all the little bits of foreshadowing I’ve worked into the fics??? I’m sure I have more little details in the au but there’s over 280k words of songbird 😭😭

If there was one thing Frye adored about her partner, it was that they were short.

Or maybe she was just tall. Shiver always said stuff about how Frye was tall for an inkling, and it was true. She could look most octolings in the eye, Shiver included, but she'd never met an inkling she had to look up at. It suited her just fine though. It wasn't a problem.

The problem was something else.

Captain 3 was always sitting down. They never got up out of their seat for too long, which meant Frye never got to fully and completely revel in the fact that she was taller than them. She had voiced this complaint to Shiver, whose only response was to give her a flat look.

"If they won't get up," the icy octoling had said, snapping their fan shut to point it at Frye the way she usually did, "just pick them up."

That was sound advice. Frye could do it. She was used to physical exertion after all, hours upon hours of dancing for splatfests engraved into her muscles. She'd caught the Captain staring at her exposed midriff more times than she could count.

So it was one of those days in Alterna, where the moment Marie saw Frye coming, she left to join Callie and Neo. That suited Frye just fine. It meant she and the Captain were alone.

"Oh my cod, you're so light," Frye said, marveling at just how easy it was to scoop her partner up off their box. She lifted them up and swung them around with ease, twirling on her feet with impeccable balance. "I could kiss you like this so easily."

Said partner was gaping down at her, hands grasping onto her arms for security, their ink color flushed across their face and the tips of their ears. "Excu- Frye, what are you doing? Put me down!"

"So that's a no on the kiss?" Frye teased, holding them a bit closer to herself. When they paused, she couldn't help but let out a bark of laughter. "You're so flippin' cute, Cap."

The blush across their face only deepened. "Frye, if you wanted to kiss me you could've just asked," they complained, though there was no real ire in their tone.

"And what, take all the fun out of it? I like seeing you all flustered like this!" She snorted, pulling them close enough to nuzzle her nose against theirs, an eel's snaggletooth grin on her face. "Augh, you're so small, it's seriously adorable."

The Captain let out an embarrassed sounding noise, though they no longer protested. When she kissed them, they didn't complain either.

Thoughts on Episode 12 of I.I.I

I absolutely loved it!  With the Floor and the callbacks to S2, it was just fantastic ^^

[Spoilers incoming!]

Such as finally mentioning Lightbulb by name! The reaction from Paintbrush when Cabby painted (pun intended) Lightbulb in a bad light was amazing. It really showed how much of the two bonded back in S2 and how much she had an impact on them. 

Although, I do find it silly that Paintbrush was eliminated on the 12th episode again. Seriously, they were eliminated on the 12th flippin’ episode again!?! I was expecting them to stay in since I thought they were going to have an arc (no longer sure what the arc was about, more research required) but it’s sweet for them to realize that they belong in Hotel OJ with the rest of their other friends :3

And also the fact they said, “I’m coming home Baxter,” when they were getting eliminated was adorable :>

Also, I was genuinely shocked when Cabby just kind of, insulted Lightbulb. I literally had to pause the episode and take it in. Like, goodness. Cabby really thought she’d support Paintbrush by doing that? Really? Pretty much insulting their friend? I was really hoping their alliance would last but it really didn’t.

Speaking of Cabby, looks like she also now has an arc. Apparently, she thinks of herself as a forgetful person and has to write things down to remember. It was actually quite heartbreaking to see her put The Floor into a container but then “realize” that she didn’t complete the challenge at all but instead was spoon-fed the solution. It was nice to see her and Floor have a small moment though :]

Maybe she’ll change. I don’t know what exactly but maybe she’ll stop using her files as much. Maybe Cabby will see the show as just a fun thing to be in instead of seeing it as something to solve, figure out, and beat. Maybe she’ll start having legitimate friends instead of having people join her alliance to further herself into the game. Who knows, only time can tell.

The part where Bot figures out what to be called and their pronouns was just, so adorable and amazing and just akskhahdjkshkh

Honestly, it was just so sweet to see them realize that they can choose who they want to be and still be themselves. And the look on Paintbrush too when Bot decided who they wanted to be ^^

Anyways, I think those are all my thoughts on the new episode. It was really silly yet also sad to watch. I am looking forward to seeing The Floor as the new assistant though! Let’s hope they don’t get too mistreated like Toilet :>

"Is everything okay, Johnny?" You finished up someone's coffee, placing it on the counter.

"Do you wanna go on a date sometime?" It flew out of his mouth so fast that you could barely understand him.

"Y-You really want to go on a date... with me?"

Johnny nodded, still trying to avoid eye contact with you.

"Of course I do, Johnny!"

His eyes finally met your smiling figure. He smiled back. "Y-Yeah! Uh... we can get dinner tonight! Or... whatever you want."

"Dinner sounds great." You smiled, Cookie standing at you arms.

You smiled, and grabbed your dress that complimented your figure perfectly. "You really think so?"

He nodded and grabbed your hand, leading you into the restaurant.

You ended up staying there for hours, laughing and just talking. He offered to buy your meal, and you didn't decline. It didn't even feel real.

I’m a bit late, but I drew her! Finally. How long ago did I say I would? Yeah, it was a while ago, but I did it and I suppose that’s all that matters.

I would’ve drawn her listening to music (specifically rock music, because I guess she likes that genre according to that one episode, and it’s also my favorite genre), and I said I would in one post, but since I already drew Arnold doing basically the same thing, I’ll save that for later. She deserves to rock out, it just won’t be today.

Also she isn’t reading a specific book, it’s basically up to you what she’s reading. 

I also said that once I drew Helga on her own that I’d tell you why she and Arnold are tied as my favorite characters from HA!, so I shall do that now. Helga’s up there because she kind of reminds me of myself personality-wise. I’m not openly mean to anyone I meet, and I don’t think I would be to my crush either, but other than that, I relate to her in some ways. . . One of them isn’t her past though, just so that part’s clear. I don’t have nearly as dark or sad of a backstory as she does. But she’s the one in the show I relate to the most.

Also I apparently really like the jerky characters in media (whether they’re villains or not depends on the character), so I guess it’s no surprise I’d favor her.

As for Arnold, he reminds me of my old best friend (which sounds weird based on everything I said before. I swear I didn’t like them like that lol). In a nutshell, it feels right calling them my old best friend, because they were a real best friend. Which made me feel conflicted when I was watching all of HA! back in October last year, and Arnold made me think of them a lot. We stopped being friends at that point, so it gave me a bittersweet feeling anytime he’d say something I felt like my old friend would say to me. Like I watch TV to get away from real life for a moment, and this little shit keeps reminding me of someone who I don’t talk to anymore. I can’t be too mad about that though. In some way, it almost feels like my old friend is still there . . . in the form of a cartoon football-headed kid. 

Also Arnold looks flippin’ adorable to me. . . I have not seen anyone say that before, so I dunno how I feel admitting to that.

Just to be clear, nothing happened to my old friend. As far as I know, they’re doing fine. People just fall apart sometimes.

Well, uh . . . Hope I didn’t bore you with my rambling.

this is my favorite! he was my first shiny pokemon ever. i found him as a trapinch allll the way back when i was playing emerald when i was like 8. i saw the little blue dude and the little twinkle thing happen, and i was like 😱😱😱 i made sure to take extra caution catching it. and my silly goose self had a guidebook and looked up what it's fully evolved form looked like and decided it vaguely enough like a dragonfly that that's what i'll name it 😂 and i've been porting him up through the games throughout the years all the way into pokemon home ☺️ along with my swampert from back then! they're always my top 2. i also spent a week on a replay of pokemon y searching the mini desert area there for a shiny trapinch. i eventually found one, but also caught 2 shiny gible in the process! 😂

Okay! I just finished Dual Destinies (save for the FLIPPIN' ORCA CASE; I can't believe my game attempted to get me to move right on to Spirit of Justice without even pointing out the orca case!), so as usual, quick thoughts go!

Uhhhhh…

I really don't know what to think about this game. I'm actually kind of conflicted about it. I can name a whole host of things I actually really, really enjoyed, so it's not like I hated the game. But for some reason I still find myself wanting. But I don't know what I want.

I was talking to my friend Lauren the other day. She's been playing these games, too. She started out pretty far ahead of me, but now she's a couple cases behind on account of having real life friends and real life activities to attend. But I was telling her that so far the Apollo Justice trilogy just doesn't feel like the same game as the Phoenix Wright trilogy to me. Which is silly! They really aren't THAT different. They've got the same set up, the same mechanics, this game had a lot of the same characters. But whereas with the original trilogy I would be talking myself through what the possible solution to a testimony was and eagerly looking forward to being done with my day so I could play just a little bit more…I just don't do that with these games. I mean, it's not a CHORE to play, but I definitely don't find them as interesting.

And you can't even say that it's because of Phoenix at this point. Phoenix is back. And I liked having him back! I didn't feel like he got too much focus, and I was delighted to see him back in the saddle as Teenage Weird Girl Dad--although, sadly, he still sucks at being a dad to Apollo, who probably needs to see if Miles will adopt him, since between Simon and Eustace, Miles seems to have a better grip on how to raise sons.

And I liked Athena! I can't really think of a non-hate sink character in this game I didn't like. Oh, wait. I lied. I didn't really like Solomon Starbuck, but that was more because his sighing took up a lot of time. I wound up feeling about the same about Apollo as I did at the end of the last game. I mean, hey, at least they tried to do something with him! They telegraphed it too hard and made me completely bamboozled as to why his coworkers and/or ostensible friends can't comprehend why he wants to take some time off not only after receiving injuries that required a hospitalization on two separate occasions but also his best friend and roommate died--but, hey. They did at least try.

I would have liked to see more of Klavier. I enjoyed his fairly short role quite a bit, and felt like he and Apollo had better back-and-forth just in the time. But I fully admit that could just be the fact that I've read enough fan fiction now that I've got a fleshed-out Klavier in my head that I am subbing in.

And Simon was a good prosecutor. At first I was like, "He's a little one note, though." And then I remembered Godot and his coffee, and I was like, "Never mind. Continue." Simon didn't bump Franziska or Miles off my top prosecutors list, but in the end, I did enjoy the emo little weeb, especially after his open interactions with Athena.

I wish Trucy hadn't been relegated to an endless magic panties joke.

I liked almost all the cases! The opening wasn't, like, the best opening case there's been, but Ted might have been the best and least annoying of the culprits. Jinxie is ADORABLE, and her dad is great, and even though the culprit was really annoying, he was supposed to be so that's okay. I thought I was going to HATE the Themis Academy case. I'm not interested in reliving high school in any way, shape, or form, and the lawyer school thing sounded so silly. But I wound up getting a real soft spot for those kids. Actually, they way they helped Athena through her PTSD made me literally tear up. I was so worried about a 25-year-old confessing his love to Junie, and then it turned out to be this wholesome thing of him working up the nerve to confess he's 25 and not a genius. It might have wound up being my favorite case.

Case 4 was the weak one for me. Maybe it's because I just am not someone fascinated by space? I guess that's weird coming from a Star Trek fan, but real life space is terrifying, and I'm not someone who spends time looking at nebulas and stuff. So the space center as the sudden most important set piece just didn't spark my interest. I do not care of Solomon Starbuck gets to go back to space. I don't care about space. Sorry.

And Bobby was just…a really lousy final boss. Maybe not Kristoph levels of lousy, but still…for a guy that was built up to be this amazing super spy that had eluded even being KNOWN for seven years, suddenly he's just…on the stand making stupid, obvious mistakes, like saying, "Who knows? My lover? Maybe my kids?" when Phoenix asks who the Phantom took hostage. Destroying evidence right in the middle of court. Generally making himself so incredibly apparent it was hard to take him seriously at all. It wasn't really satisfying to defeat him, in the end.

And I think the crux of my problem was…it wasn't a satisfying game. Maybe if I'd been playing this series when it came out all those years ago, I'd be pleased with the "quality of life" changes made. But it felt like the game ran almost entirely on autopilot. I didn't have to do anything. I didn't have to think. The answers were fed to me. I could only observe, like, one specific part of each level, which really minimized the character interactions. Instead of having to figure out where to go, oftentimes the characters would just go to the next place for me. I realize that the fingerprinting and other forensic evidence activities weren't everyone's cup of tea, but I enjoyed them, and that's gone. Looking at evidence more in depth is gone…it felt like there was really nothing there for me to do. This is the only visual novel series I've ever played (I made my best friend promise not to let me go down the Danganronpa rabbit hole), so maybe that's more typical

And, frankly, I just don't find the 3D stuff as charming as the 2D sprites. Mostly, the artwork's okay. Miles' is the worst by a longshot. But overall, the leap to 3D isn't bad. I didn't hate it as much as I expected to.

So, yeah. Just sort of a weird mix of a game for me. The fact that it didn't feel like much of a game probably has the most to do with it.

I think I'll take a break for a bit before I start up Spirit of Justice. I'm not sure if I'll dive into the orca case first or not. But as much as I enjoy a good hyperfixation, it's time for a bit of a break. It's come to the point where I'm either playing the game, reading fic about the game, or thinking about the game, and I gotta draw a line and give my brain a bit of a break before September. I pre-ordered a physical copy of Ace Attorney Investigations (mostly as a treat for future me getting through her CE convention), and I'll probably still read some fic, but…I gotta let my brain do some non-Ace Attorney stuff for a little while. I've actually been thinking about going back and doing a third draft of my novel, so maybe I should spend some time outlining that.

I was already having the best time being at the filming (you’ll never guess the first thing I spotted when looking out into the Forman home lol) but when Debra Jo Rupp came up to the audience looking for me, I thought I was dreaming! She was just the sweetest and Kurtwood Smith also sent sent a reply to my tweet at the end of the night, thanking me for coming to the show. The dear sweet man.

Totally wasn’t expecting it, I was literally just excited to be in the same flippin’ room as Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith but them noticing me and even getting to talk to Debra Jo Rupp 🥰 Feel in love with their characters first but more and more I’ve come to adore them as actors and people, they really are two of the sweetest people out there that’s one of the many reasons I am so happy that they got to do this show and hope it does well. You could really tell they were having a great time on set!

Ok not exactly *my* scene but this was the scene that had a very special moment for me. 🥰

This was the first scene with Red and Kitty in the firsts episode I saw filmed. So it was the first time I saw Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith on stage as Red and Kitty. They ran through it one time and were fabulous and before going into the second take. Debra Jo Rupp came up to the audience and said hello. She’s down on the stage floor right but she asks for the mic and the guy gives it to her, everyone’s cheering and it’s so exciting and then she talks about the kitchen and how she redid it and got rid of the owls and replaced them with berries lol and that later she’d give us a tour. And then guess what happened next!

She goes “Is there a Priscilla here?” My heart stopped and my hand shot up and she saw me and she was like ‘from that 70s show Golden couple?’ And I was like ‘yes! That’s me! Hi!’ She was said hi and then explained that i had this site thing that was online and I told her ‘instagram’

DJR: “It’s on installation?”

Me: “Instagram”

DJR: “Ok, well whatever it is, we’re grandparents now so..” 🤣

She then explained how the page is for her and Kurtwood with pictures and videos and stuff and she found it during COVID times which was 2 years of just being alone and she was like ‘I’m gonna cry’

I was like I already feeling like I was gonna cry too. And then she talked about the Cameos she did to help restaurants out in her home town and crowd cheered and then she explained I had bought one for myself and that then said ‘and I made a good one for her…it was good wasn’t it?”

Me: “Yes!”

DJR:”Ok, good because I would to so many and in different ones, some would come out better than others”

Then she said that she just wanted to thank me, and said, “Thank you for everything that you do for us” 💛 and she said that she was so glad that I could make it and she just wanted to give me a little shout out. Then she went back to shoot the scene. It was AMAZING!!

Later on in the filming Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith were talking, she was giving her back to the audience and he was seated at the kitchen bar. Then she turned around and scanned the audience, like she was looking for someone she even had her finger kind of pointing, I felt like it could be me. I mean it was in my direction and she’d seen me before so I noticed and started waving back and and I swear she started smiling, pointing again and then waved back and sorta gestures to Kurtwood Smith and then Kurtwood Smith waved back too!! She had pointed me out to him!! MY HEART WAS SO HAPPY!!

I could not stop smiling. They were both looking at me, they saw me I know it!! And were waving and looking so happy, it really felt like they were waving hello to *me*! I wanna cry thinking about it, I swear I don’t know how I didn’t; cry there, I think I was just too happy.

Then Kurtwood cupped his hands over his mouth and shouted something I have no idea what it was I could just kinda here his voice but not what he was saying, if that make sense. But I really feel like he was trying to tell me something, probably something like thanks for coming or telling me hi. Whatever it was just the fact that it happened and that I literally had both of them telling me hi was just the sweetest greatest thing ever. They are the sweetest most kindest people ever! Ugh I love them!

At the end of the night as we were leaving I also called out to Debra Jo Rupp and got to talk to her for a little bit, thanking her for the shout out and telling her how much I loved the show. She was so sweet, thanking me again for coming and saying how she would’ve loved to take a picture with me but couldn’t because of COVID I was ok tho, super touched by her saying that and now I’m just hopeful for a season 2 with less Covid restrictions lol

I can’t get over that flirting scene though. These are two mature adults who have been out of the game for various reasons for so long and when Bucky sees Sarah he immediately snaps back to “young stud trying to impress a girl”. He’s still his normal, slightly surly self with Sam (the running joke is all he does is stare and intimidate for Pete’s sake) and he sees Sarah and just lights up and turns on the charm for the first time we see EVER. And this isn’t “he’s happy to meet his friend’s sister” thing, he VISIBLY gives her the up and down and eagerly wants her to know who he is. And Sarah’s slightly flustered response to the hot dude who is clearly interested is adorable. And Bucky repeats her name with that “okay Sarah, I’m going to be remembering that name” tone which is why Sam immediately gets “you watch it” look. Then Sarah spins around and you can see her unable to hide the grin. It’s so cute to see two people who haven’t done this in a long time acting like teenagers. 

Then Sam does the threatening brother thing and rather than Bucky laugh it off, his throat tightens and he gets really sheepish which indicates to me that Bucky is DEFINITELY interested. Bucky “steal yo sister” Barnes is on the prowl. 

And when Sarah shows up to hassle Sam about messing with the boat when he doesn’t know what he’s doing, Bucky draws attention to himself again in spite of Sam and immediately aligns himself with Sarah (”yup, Samuel”) and while they’re leaving shares a look and smile with her again. Like Bucky is pursuing this. He took one look at Sarah and was immediately “oh hell this is totally worth it”. 

The kids situation actually seems appealing to Bucky. He’s missed out on a family and clearly likes kids (and they like him). He was happily at the mercy of the Wakandan children so you can’t tell me that Sarah’s kids aren’t comforting to Bucky. He wakes up to them disturbing him happy rather than startled. Stability and comfort and HOME is what Bucky really seems to want and Sarah offers that along with a good, understanding head on her shoulders. Sarah seems exhausted by having to handle her life alone and here’s this guy who just wants to help. It’s a flippin’ Hallmark movie.
