While I originally intended to make them side characters/mentors of the protagonist, I’m more and more enjoying the idea of having them be their own leads.

I don't get why people aren't allowed to be wrong or to change their minds regarding sexuality and orientation.

Like what exactly are you afraid ace teens are going to miss out on, awkward fumbling teenage sex? It's not great! I had awful teenage sex, I don't miss it. I actually think that if I had access to information about asexuality I would have figured myself out sooner, had significantly less trauma, and started living the good life where I don't have to have shitty sex to keep a romantic partner sooner!

I imagine being aro and trying to force yourself to have a romantic relationship is equally fucked and gross, and there's no reason for anyone to have to do it!

People need to stop wanting kids to have the same experiences of high school as they did. Maybe you did have a great time with your highschool boyfriends Margret, but not everyone is you. Not everyone has your sexuality or timeline.

And someone who IS a late bloomer is going to be just as messed up as the rest of us when having sex they don't want! Let people do things in their own time.

Identifying as aroace or any orientation isn't a contract! It isn't an amputation! It is something you can think about and change your mind on because you as a person are allowed to grow and change FOR YOUR WHOLE LIFE, FOREVER.

Unpopular (?) opinion:

When I was young and wondering why I hadn't experienced a crush yet, the internet said I was probably just a late bloomer. They urged me not to identify as aroace because I could change my mind later on.

And looking back, like… so?

If I had been a late bloomer, who cares?

I was 13. I felt comfort in the aroace community. I didn’t feel like a weirdo for once in my life, surrounded by people who were like me. But I was urged to not join these communities until I became an adult in case I changed my mind about being ace. So I didn’t. And I paid for that.

Who cares? If you’re young and feel like you’re aroace, then you’re aroace. If you “change your mind” later, it’s okay. No one is going to be born and know themselves 100%. I genuinely thought I was alloromantic once, but now know I’m not.

Speaking from experience, I would rather have kids be “wrong” about their sexuality than feel like they have no place of belonging.

We shouldn’t gatekeep aroace folk because of their age. It hurts. It makes kids feel like they are the freaks society tells them they are.

Having a "I've connected the dots" moment on why Zeus is so affectionate with Apollo, and I don't know why I'd never considered it before that Apollo's youth could be a reason.

So there was this sentiment that young boys are the dearest to the gods, and the gods are especially attentive towards their requests. And since Apollo is a perpetual young boy himself, with Zeus being the one to grant him this gift in one version, it makes sense that Zeus has granted so many of Apollo's wishes. He spared Prometheus and Periphas upon Apollo's request even though he was personally offended by them. He agreed to suppress Gaia and Athena upon Apollo's request when it came to the oracular business. He even revived Asclepius to console Apollo despite Apollo's frankly disrespectful reaction to Asclepius' death.

Apollo might be fearsome, powerful, and even reckless at times but when he kneels down in supplication, all Zeus sees is his little boy that he loves so much, and he can't help but give in to his requests (well, most of his requests at least). And as far as the text is concerned, and if I'm interpreting this correcltly, Apollo's youth is interestingly tied to his helpful nature because besides using his own powers to help the humans, Apollo can also help them by supplicating to Zeus on their behalf, as Zeus is more likely to grant a request when it's coming from him.
