Synopsis: Himokura Tetsu is a scientist who specialises in the study of parasites. He loathes people and is very sadistic. He bought a huge botanical garden in Hakone which he converted into his home and lab. He holes up in the conservatory where he researches his favourite parasites. His right arm is fitted with a black robotic hand. However, it is not known how this artificial hand came about. He is an eccentric genius who solves a series of difficult cases with astounding scientific methods.

Note: If I had a nickel for every time I watched a drama where the main character is missing a body part, has a shady past and is accused of being a murderer... Lol

!!Spoilers Below!!

Warning!! A character commits suicide in ep. 8, and also eps. 10 and 11 take place during a lethal infectious decease outbreak and lockdown in a small village, and, considering reality, I figured it could be upsetting for some to watch, so I'm just warning you all.

And another thing: if you're worried if it's phobia-friendly, there's only some insects shown in ep. 1, and no real parasites or insects shown at any point besides that, they're all cartoonishly drawn (it was my main worry since I'm insectophobic, but I could watch it just fine)

Ep. 01: right hand is malfunctioning, pushed, tasered(not shown), lost consciousness, hands tied behind back(with zipties), frees himself by disconnecting his right hand

Ep. 02: grabbed by the front of the shirt, talking about how he lost his arm(lies), his past is talked about, flashbacks, phantom pains, in a lot of pain, someone secretly witnesses it

Ep. 03: chased, fought, saving someone, his right hand malfunctioning, his past is talked about

Ep. 04: someone accidentally triggers his flashbacks, ears ringing, phantom pains, concern for him, lying on the ground, in a lot of pain, his past is talked about, waking up, accused of causing the suicide of his previous assistant (and best friend), phantom pains, concern for him, lying on the ground, flashbacks, unresponsive, reliving traumatic memory, passed out

Ep. 05: waking up from a nightmare, it's revealed to others he has troubles with sleeping and ptsd, talking about his past, phantom pains, falling to his knees, disconnecting his arm, concern for him, pushing a friend away, (flashback: argues with his best friend, chased, trying not to let him fall to his death, his right arm got shot off, his best friend fell and died), crying

Ep. 06-08: none

Ep. 09: someone accidentally disconnected his right hand

Ep. 10: flashbacks, isolated in a village during ebola outbreak

Ep. 11: continues to be on lockdown, his best friend got infected and assumed dead for a moment, crying, fell to his knees

I met some relatives of my beloved leatherleaf slugs in the mangroves of Singapore, the onch slugs! they’re perhaps some of the slowest-moving animals I’ve ever encountered; this is one in a hurry:

the species pictured is a Platevindex, which are particularly interesting to me since their backs are studded with extra eyes! the dorsal papillae each have a little black dot that’s a photoreceptor, which helps the slug detect changes in light exposure.

onchidiids are marine animals, living on costal rocks and in mangroves, but breathe air and spend much of their time out of the water. like the leatherleafs, they’ve got a dry, tough hide that maintains water balance, but Platevindex takes that to an extreme—when I picked one up, it felt like a vulcanized rubber tire!

The angst potential alone haunts me. How long do you think he waited for Ford?? When did it start to sink in that nobody was coming to save him, that nobody would miss him? Would anybody even want him back? How long did it take for his anger, his heartbreak, his grief to turn into acceptance and a belief that this was divine retribution? How long did he work, how many jobs did he take, how much wealth did he accrue, how many brushes with death did he have until he believed he’d “earned” the right to go home and see his brother?? Many such questions. I need to go deeper
