Writing hasn't been enjoyable for me for some time now. Everything is so jumbled in my head that even trying to daydream a plot is frustrating/overwhelming. It's just been a big fight to create anything and it's been discouraging, to say the least. Not sure if it's burnout or if that creative spark died, but to go from being teeming with all the thoughts and ideas to being so empty is very sad for me.

I LOVE HIORI IN THIS SERIES TBH he’s like karasu x y/n’s biggest shipper (besides y/n’s bff) but also kind of their weird little freak child?? idk how to put it but karasu + y/n both feel like they are probably role models of some sort for hiori (which will be shown a bit more in the next continuation i hope) so he kinda just follows them around as he has been so far and at some point they just give up and pretty much adopt him. like yeah that’s their son what abt it (this is based on that one scene of karasu and hiori in the epinagi movie where karasu looks like he’s taking his child [hiori] to the doctor’s office for the first time because his wife [y/n] is busy 😭)

Honestly, I feel like rewatchig his entire pov of this season because it's just so...Different from his usual? We all are used to his bloodlust and being a lone wolf but Double Life forced him into a trustful relationship with another person and since then he showed that side of himself that you only usually get to witness on Empires: the most loyal and faintful person ever. He will start wars and burn the world just to keep those he cares about safe. The thing is, not many people get to see this side of him because they avoid his fire and rushed decisions and spite and bloodlust. Because he is difficult to stay with and he knows it. And yet after finally fully revealing that caring side of himself in Dohble Life, he actually tries his damn best to keep his allies together and save. While dl!Joel was forced by the circumstances to reveal his care, liml!Joel put the effort. The amoubt of times bad boys could fall apart and didn't because Joel stopped the fights is HUGE. And the fact that he 'went insane' after Jimmy's death because he wanted to sacrifice himself to break his buddy's curse is so tragic, so I think that's why him being chased hurts so much; he is just a desperate man blinded by grief and sorrow and desperation, fighting against the world until his last dying breath orz

Just got home a bit ago after doing my lunar new year shopping, I'm glad I didn't bother trying yesterday and then being rushed because of all the other errands because like while I had a general list of food ideas, I was also improving as I went based on what was there. There was tons of fruits front and center!! I got tangerines, a pomello, persimmons, and some little lady apples, some other snacking foods and a dried fruit tray, lotssss of veggies and mushrooms, also some tofu and quail eggs because I decided I'm gonna do a hotpot, since I conveniently had bought that single burner for my own use I was like huh. This is very convenient. AND they had a really great price on a big great quality stainless steel divided pot, like I was just gonna use whatever but I was like OH!!! I put aside some of my Christmas money SPECIFICALLY for this party and decorations were almost cleaned out aside from a couple things I grabbed so it was like well spend the rest on this pot and then I have it forever for my own future kitchen ;0; ♡ so I got a spicy broth and miso for the other, and all that is gonna be vegetarian since my brother is vegetarian and also has a shellfish allergy, decided to avoid any seafood, and I know my friends love veggies and stuff anyway! And then I got some uhh frozen buns, pancakes, spring rolls, and dumplings (one veggies one chicken so that's the one meat item), I'm gonna like kinda cook things as I go? It's a lot of people but idk how much everyone is actually gonna be hungry but everything I bought is also stuff I like to eat so it kinda doubles as a shopping trip for myself anyway like even if I have tons of frozen stuff left that's just food stocked up for me! We have plenty of soda and water in the house, so I just got like solo cups and paper plates from the dollar store (and some red steamers to tie the decor I could get together)

A lot of the typical LNY foods were on sale also! And it was busy ahaha like everyone was in there loading up on all the same kinds of things! I felt bad when I was checking out cause I was confusing the cashier a bit with my like multiple forms of payment I needed to use (food has to go on one card, the rest I wanted to do part cash part debit but was unable to communicate that so I just put it all on debit which is nbd I'll just deposit the cash in the bank later) ;;;; since I don't know Chinese and she didn't know English it took a little bit of gesturing and her typing numbers on her phone for me to read orz I felt like anxious after I was finishing boxing my stuff I was like oh I hope I didn't stress her too much she's obviously so busy today and there's a line behind me (that "everyone in the grocery store hates me" feeling snjfmsnfns) but right before I left she grabbed a pack of pretty red cards from under the register and held them up so I can see and then put them in my box 😭❤

(The struggle is so on me though like usually when I'm there the cashiers are some amount of bilingual but I can't always expect it, and I do usually need to use multiple forms of payment so I should really try learning some words and phrases so make it easier ;;; hopefully she knew I was very thankful to her though! That really made my day 🥺)

Anyway yeah that was my trip so! I'm excited, tomorrow I'll likely start prepping things like cutting veggies and stuff. On the day of, I'll take photos of everything to share! Last year I was solo and my family had some decor up to welcome me back from Oregon but it wasn't a whole party or anything, so I'm excited to host a proper gathering (and have friends with me instead of being alone and sad)

i base my origami siblings on middle-ages fashion, i rlly wanted them to look like the kind of royalty you'd find in children's fairy tale storybooks to give them that sorta whimsical out-of-place feel ✨

the way i view the fold of life is that it vaguely imbues them w a fictional past/history, so as far as olly and olivia (and the los) are aware, their previous life was a lot more glorious, but still shut out from the rest of the world.

Sending this from my kinda not main but I was wondering how ningajo had changed from after the release of the movie. The last season I watched was skybound but I don't even remember if I finished that😭 but what I wanted to ask is does the story remain the same as it was b4 then? I've been trying to pick it back up for maybe 5+ years or so? The change in character design def threw me off and I felt kinda lost. (Sorry this is so long orz)

you're correct in saying that the movie changed a lot of things. the character design, the world design, and the tone of the story changed a lot after the movie aired, and another change is lloyd's voice actor changing from jillian michaels to sam vincent (also the voice of double d from ed edd n eddy fun fact)

dw it took me a while to get used to the new designs (i remember being PISSED at the fact that they changed them djkghdkjfhg) keep in mind that there's also a canonical timeskip between s7 and s8

the story is.... well it's ninjago dfgjkhdkfjgh the core story remains the same, aka its a group of silly colorcoded ninja fighting crime and saving the world from being destroyed. again. but seasons 8, 9, and 10, usually referred to as the oni trilogy, have a much darker feel because the writers noticed their more mature audience and wrote to fit, while also still being a kids show.

the main change really happens after animation studios switch from wilfilm to wildbrain. wildbrain era (seasons 11-16) have a different animation ... vibe? like, the animation remains mostly the same, but there's different textures (hair gets textured, you can see every little wrinkle in leather, etc) and faces are animated differently, as well as using different animation techniques as is standard for a different animation studio, but the story also gets a big change

a bunch of things get tweaked post-wildbrain. for instance, the series is just ninjago now, not the masters of spinjitzu. elemental masters are just elementals. missions are called quests. sensei wu is now master wu (though i'm blanking on if this happens s8 or s11). they sometimes have anime segments (don't ask). and uh. most of the plotlines from the previous seasons are kinda... ignored? like, wildbrain heavily prioritizes its own seasons rather than the previous seasons, meaning a lot of that stuff becomes obsolete. tragic, but nothing we can do about it.

the main change in the wildbrain era is that the episodes are all 11 minutes long now instead of 22 minutes. this is remedied by having More episodes per season, but the shorter episodes are an interesting factor in how the seasons play out. many say that the seasons feel too rushed because of that, and i have to agree on some cases. but theyre decently handled for the longer seasons (s11 and s16)

so... the story. is it the same ninjago as s1-10 was? hard to say. post-movie was the start of an era for sure, and wildbrain had some thoughts about where it would go, but i can't say it's all bad. the oni trilogy is a masterpiece of writing (though its not wildbrain, its still wilfilms), s11 is pretty good if you ignore the bigger flaws, s12 is . ok i'm not the biggest fan but it's a very fun season its just clunky dkfghkdjhg but season 13 is amazing and i love it. seasons 14 and 15 are also good :) seabound esp

don't talk to me about the finale. i WILL rant about it. too much. this is a threat.

but despite it all, it's still ninjago. the same fun cast, the same stories of the ninja being dumbasses and saving the world, they just look slightly different. if the redesigns really bother you, there's not much i can say about that unfortunately. it took me a very long time to get used to it and i was in HEAVY denial for a while, but you warm up to them. after all, they gave us superstar <3 and that's all that matters

also you do not need to finish skybound it is . it's skybound! watch hands of time (s7) tho its very funny

tldr: i can't say whether the story stays the same post-wildbrain (s11-16), but i heavily recommend watching the oni trilogy. if the new designs squick you out, there's not a lot you can do but get used to it. if you want to give it another chance, go for it!! the movie either scared people off or invited people in, so it's up to you how you feel about the movie and its effect on the show. all i can say is you gotta make your own opinion about it, and if you wanna liveblog or stream any more thoughts about ninjago, feel free to message me again!! my askbox is open (and so are my dms if anything :D)

thank you for asking, i love answering these kinds of things!

golden deer/claudes route has the most lore revealed, and you learn a whole lot more about what had been happening behind the scenes during the other routes. it gave me more incentive to play the others again to see what i hadn't picked up on. i will say that i found it a tad easier than the rest. however i am not very bothered by that personally.

pros:

most insight into fodlan's lore

best characters individually

cons:

less difficult (though that may just be me)

most of the units are archers (which can be a good thing if you like that but it makes unit placement much more important. AND this can be fixed easily but they excel in archery)

black eagles/edelgards route was very interesting because you dont normally learn much about her outside of this because she never opens up. ive always liked edelgard a fair amount, but learning her firsthand account of all that happened really brought me into liking her character. however, you kill a lot of your former classmates this route. it is painful if you grow attached. and its very rushed honestly (there is one cutscene the entire route orz) aside from edelgard herself this route was my least favorite to play through. it is by no means terrible though, it was still enjoyable. i just wish they put more effort into it to make it good

shortest route in the game as it only has 18 chapters

blue lions/dimitris route is probably the one you get the least amount of information about lore and such from. it focuses more on character arcs rather than telling you about fodlan and the church and whatnot. im a tad biased because i love all of the blue lions but this one was the most enjoyable for me. so take this with a grain of salt i just like them a normal amount

pros:

the entire cast clicks very well together

best story pacing out of the three

i feel like part one was a whole lot better this route

cons:

you dont learn very much lore

if you dont complete a certain paralogue you can lose a unit in your house forever

oof there are so many places I'd want to visit! Definitely wanna do some more in-country travel, wanna see Berlin and Hamburg and Bremen again (all the bigger cities tbh), wanna visit that one park with the Iconic ™ round devil's bridge everyone keeps reblogging photos of on here lol as well as see ALL THE CASTLES! Schloss Neuschwanstein being on the very top of that list! And the town of Hammelburg of course, for silly Hogan's Heroes fan reasons 🙈

I'd also love to explore Amsterdam at a slower pace, the class trip was super rushed and focused on art history, quick museum visits, life drawing, some culture, and all the presentations we had to prepare beforehand orz

I wanna travel around Denmark some more as well. I've been on family vacations in the same small town near the southwestern coast a couple times but I'd love to see Copenhagen one day!

Japan is another obvious favourite on the list! Wanna experience the city life (and go shopping for street fashion and lolita fashion in person!!!) and the countryside and culture so bad, Sharla in Japan's and Rachel and Jun's videos just aren't enough for me anymore 😭

If at all possible, the U.S. would be on that list as well, just to get a chance to see some of my fandom friends! Also all the national parks! The Closet Historian's and The Milk Club's travel/antique-ing/thrifting vlogs have really awakened something in me lol Also also kinda wanna go shopping at walmart, just to see how the American Experience is. We did have a walmart in Germany at one time in the early 2000s but it was almost identical to the local Big Supermarket chains and disappeared after a couple months??? OH almost forgot: HOT TOPIC (and 80s style malls)!!! But not the current Hot Topic shops, I'd wanna go back to the late 90s/early 2000s style of shops 😭 Used to look at their online shop every day as a young teen, and I always dreamed of shopping there one day...

Lastly I suppose I'd want to see each European country at least once in my life!

No particular idea where I'd wanna live permanently tho All I'd want is a space of my own that's up to code and dry and warm and safe lol

I don't have any of my Fairy Tail fics on my Ao3 (I should fix that, I know orz) and, unfortunately, I don't have them backed up outside of that; when FF comes back up, as long as everything is still above board, I'll definitely be backing them up and getting them posted to my Ao3 so I don't lose them and you have another place to access them<33333
