Also: Building community is not just an outreach tool. It is a tool of keeping ourselves safe and keeping resources available to all. Offering things on social media like rides to abortion clinics, or diy hrt, or anything else that is perhaps not-totally-legal in all places, is not a great strategy. For one, you shouldn't trust strangers on the internet with information that sensitive, so those you are offering those services to would do well not to trust you. If you want to meaningfully contribute to providing things such as the above, or even more legal-but-logistically-complex things like feeding a large number of people, handing out narcan, etc, you need to organize in person. How do you organize in person? By meeting people in person, aka building community.
If this is your goal, you can start with people who are very similar to you! You don't have to start by reaching out to Alt Right David or even Annoying Uncle Bill - you can start by going to a local show or a group that meets at the library or hanging out with your D&D group when you're not actively playing D&D. Then, you have friends that you can rely on to take care of you, and who you might be able to plan some cool mutual aid shit with. I've been working on building community for awhile, at first not intentionally and lately very intentionally, and here's how I met the group of friends I started a monthly free store with:
1. Met Friend A at a choir thing since I like to sing and was looking for friends after moving somewhere new. Friend A ultimately left choir but we stayed friends, and at one point I told Friend A I'm ace.
2. Friend A said, "oh you'd love my friend B, who's also ace! She's doing a comedy show, let's go see her perform together and then you can meet her!"
3. Friend B and I become friends, and start a local peer support group for aspec people, based mostly on Friend B's existing communities and our sheer determination.
4. Fast forward a year and a half, Friend C comes to our aspec peer support group and I become friends with her.
5. Friend C and I are talking about activism, and Friend C says a lot of the things I'm interested in aligns with what Friend D has talked to her about. Friend C introduces me to Friend D.
6. Independently, I have been building a community space on my street, in the rough neighborhood of where Friend C, Friend D, and I live.
7. Friend D and I want to create a solarpunk future but decide to start small. Friend D ropes in several of his friends, one of whom I happen to know from the community space mentioned in 6.
8. This group of friends runs a free store once a month in the community space, open for all to donate to and all to attend. As we find out about others who are doing/want to do similar things, we try to join forces. In this way we've expanded from just a free store to a free store + clothing swap, and we're only on our third time hosting it.
All of these friends are lefty, and all of them are queer in some way or another. The free store friends are explicitly anarchist, like me. I think OP's point is useful for deradicalization and for growing the movement, but if you are alone and you are scared, encouragement to build community is just as much about finding your people in person as it is about forming coalitions with those different in you.
Another important note is that finding people like you should be a starting point, not an ending point. The goal of this is not to find friends, though that's a good start. The goal is to build dual power, which is done by working together with others and having open doors to join the movement. Once you've found some friends or communities, work to ensure that they are open to all, that you are reaching the people who most need the work you are doing, and that you are not simply making yourself feel good or just having a good time with your friends.
Activism is not cold-calling.
Activism is not cold-calling, and this is critically important to understand.
I'm seeing a lot of posts on here about 'building bridges' and 'finding community,' and then (extremely valid) response posts saying "BUT HOW??" And I'm going to explain something that can be very counter-intuitive: there is strategy involved in community.
As a longtime volunteer labour organizer, I’ve taken and taught many trainings on the strategy of talking. Something that surprises a lot of people is the very first thing you do in a union campaign. You sit down with your organizing committee, take out pen and paper, and literally map it out. You draw a physical map of the workplace: where are the entrances, exits, break rooms, supervisor offices. Essentially, ‘where is it safe to have a union conversation.’ Then you draw another physical chart of your coworkers. You sort out who is union-friendly, openly hostile to unions, or somewhere in the middle, and then you plan out very deliberately and carefully who talks to whom and in what order.
Consider: If Vocally Leftist Jane walks up to Conservative David and says "hey what do you think about unions," David is going to shut down immediately. He's not inclined to listen to Jane. But if Jane talks to Moderate Jason and brings him into the fold, then Jason is a far more effective strategic choice to talk to David, and David may actually hear him out without an instant reaction.
IMPORTANT CAVEAT: If Conservative David turns out to be Alt-Right David, and could be dangerous to follow organizers, we write him off. We are not trying to reach Alt-Right David. We are trying to reach Conservative David, who may actually be persuaded to find solidarity with other employees as fellow workers. Jason is a safe scout to find out which one he is. It does no one any good if Leftist Jane (or even Moderate Jane who is a visible minority) talks to Alt-Right David and puts herself on his radar. Not only has she done nothing to convince Alt-Right David to join a union - she's probably actively turned him against the idea - but now she's also in danger and the entire campaign is at risk. NOBODY WANTS THIS. Jane was NOT a hero for doing this. The organizing committee was foolish and enacted a terrible strategy to everyone's detriment.
Where you can make a difference is with people who will listen to you. You having a conversation with your well-meaning but clueless Centrist Democrat Auntie, and maybe gently helping her understand some things the media has been glossing over, is way more strategically useful than you marching up to MAGA Neighbour You've Met Once and trying to "build community" or "understand" them. They don't care. They're impervious, dangerous, and cruel. But maybe your beloved auntie will think about what you said, and then talk to her friend Anna who IDs as "fiscally conservative" but didn't vote because she can't bring herself to get on board with Trump. Then perhaps Anna talks to her brother Nic who has MAGA leanings but isn't all the way there yet. Proto-MAGA Nic would not have listened to you, nor would he have listened to Centrist Democrat Auntie, but he might absorb some of what his sister is saying.
This is not a cop-out or an echo chamber. This is you spending your time and energy strategically and safely. You are not a useful activist to anyone if you’re dead. Anyone who is telling you to hurl yourself directly at MAGA assholes like cannon fodder has no understanding of the strategy behind community building, and you should feel comfortable writing them off.
Last point: If you are tired, emotionally devastated, and/or in danger: take a break. This post is for people who would feel better jumping into action, not for people who are too overwhelmed to even think about it right now. You are worth so much even if you’re not actively Doing Activism, and your rest is worth more than “a break period so you can recharge and Do More Activism.” We all deserve the individual dignity of being worthy of comfort, rest & safety just on the basis of being human, outside of whatever we're doing for others' benefit. To deny ourselves that dignity is to devalue ourselves, and that’s the absolute last thing any of us should be doing right now.

i need help with vet bills (again).
hi. for those of you who remember, earlier this year i asked for donations to help me afford toos' vet bills, who we found out through your help had kidney failure, and again with your help we got her on medication for it. unfortunately it wasn't enough, and we lost her. and then shortly after, dexter began deteriorating, which we put down to his grief of losing toos - she kept him young, he followed her everywhere, he only played because of her, he only ate when she ate, etc. without her he just stopped. and then he started to have seizures and fits daily. we got him blood tests, but he was suffering so badly. we made the decision to put him down. i didn't ask for donations this time, because i was so deeply embarrassed to ask for help again. but we are still recovering financially from that, as well as the parts of toos bills that didn't get covered from donations. my mother hasn't worked for a very long time, she's disabled and very sick, and she receives PIP from the government that only covers her monthly medications that are not covered by the NHS. my father retired early to become her full time carer, and we are living off his pension. i am too disabled to work, but because my mother already receives PIP and i live with them, the government are resistent to giving me any help - so i have zero income, and rely entirely on my parents.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this is jenny. she's a 14 year old cairn terrier, who loves when we garden because she wants to help dig holes. she helped us bury dexter and toos, digging their graves for them with my dads help. she's an angel, and loves people so much she likes to escape under the fence and join other families for awhile. one time she got into someones back garden and asked to come in as they were eating lunch. she really hates flies, and will try to bite them out of the air (she has never succeeded but i believe she will one day). she will rub her face against you until you start stroking her, and will growl and even bark if you stop! we don't have the money to take jenny to the vets, for a checkup or for anything they may want to do. this has been an ongoing issue, but toos and dexter took priority, and it hasn't been a bother to her. she existed as normal for a long time, but that's since changed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
jenny has this lump in her mouth, it is larger than the picture shows, but she is a nightmare to force open her mouth since this got so big, i think it's uncomfortable or painful for her. she can't properly close her lips now, and it has pushed all her front teeth away, misshaping her mouth, and sometimes it bleeds profusely. eating has become difficult for her, she can't eat anything hard, and currently will only eat soft human foods like rice, scrambled egg chopped up so small she doesn't have to chew, and things like soups and gravy. she's lost a lot of weight, and i'm getting frightened. to add onto it, i've found lumps like this across her body. i've done as much research as i can, and i believe it to be an oral tumor, it fits, and it looks right, and it spreading across her body is called 'full staging'. and going by all i've read - they will want to remove them in surgery. according to my research, this will cost anywhere from £585 - £4,740 for just the lump in her mouth. that's not including any checkup/test costs, or the other lumps on her body.
she hasn't been to the vet yet, i don't have any secure goal or bills to share, just my assumptions and beliefs from researching myself online. my parents refuse to take her because we can't afford it. i want to save up money, have it in my bank, and show them that we can help her now, before it gets worse, or it's too late. as i said before, i don't have any income, so the only way i can do this is with help.
here's a link to my paypal.me

i struggled so badly posting the first post like this for toos. i felt so guilty and embarrassed and ashamed. but i have no choice again, i want to help jenny. i don't want her to suffer. and selfishly, i can't handle losing another dog so soon. this year has been waking nightmare, and i need your help to stop it getting even worse.

All the sims from my girl's only occult orphanage i posted recently. I've been making them for a while now, and i'm currently going through the arduous building of the massive place where they'll live, which i was not prepared for (´。• ◡ •。`) thanks sm for the support on them, i'm happy you guys liked them! Also special thanks to all the cc creators, who idk what i would be without ♡
added some details about them bellow if anyone's interested (it's a wee bit long).
Characters:
Headmaster
Ruby: Despite her stern appearance, she's a lovely person who just wants to motivate the girls into following their goals, since she didn't have the same treatment growing up as an orphan herself. She'll be doing some paranormal investigation on the side, apart from working on her music to support the orphanage. I will allow small monthly donations to the orphanage as well to help her out. Traits: snob / music lover / family oriented
Teens
Anastasia (fairy): While we don't have fairies (yet!), she'll be learning a variety of skills to max level until she's allowed to learn the art of spellcasting. I'm playing the reaper event with her, so she has a few skills already. Traits: paranoid / practice makes perfect.
Ophelia (vampire): She'll be following the good vampire aspiration because she randomized with the vegetarian trait, so it was only fitting. She doesn't want to waste her immortal years being a meanie who's hated by everybody. Traits: vegetarian / cheerful
Luana (werewolf): Will be following the werewolf aspiration so i can explore that pack better, still unsure what her path will be, but i guess it's fun not knowing. Traits: loyal / lazy
Pre-teens
Bug (zombie): Didn't know what i was going to do with her, until my brother told me to do the strangerville mystery, and i thought it was sooo perfect! Traits: goofball / erratic
Hannah (spellcaster): Making her made me a little bit scared, so of course she'll be an untamed witch following the spellcaster aspiration to be a master of evil someday. Traits: hot-headed / evil
Sky (ghost): Died by lightening while saving a snake during a storm one night, and now they're bound forever. I'm still unsure what she'll do, but she'll work on finding a way to either enjoy her death or come back to life. If i get the new EP someday then i might explore it with her, but for now i'm okay having her roaming around. Traits: animal enthusiast / gloomy
Children:
Aloe (plant sim): I'll be checking out the new expanded plantsims mod with her, which is something i've been wanting to check for a while, it looks so fun! Trait: loves outdoors
Vera (elf): Don't know what i'll be doing with her, but, while i figure that out, she'll be doing all the base game aspirations since i haven't done that before, and being a companion in her plant sim friend's journey. Trait: genius
They'll each be doing their own thing while i explore the packs/mods, and i'll try to focus on only one of them for each sim day until they complete their goals and get adopted/moved out. Oh, and aging will be off, cause i don't want to stress myself. I really want to post some gameplay pics of them with no dialogue probably. I'm not a storyteller, so don't expect much 😅 it'll be just for memory keeping. Thanks if you read all this! This was more of a way for me to keep track of things too if i'm being honest.

Kofi post ☕️
I've got a few questions when it comes to donation and stuff that includes supporting the writer financially. That's why I've decided to sums it up in one post.
Kofi is a platform where you can support your favorite writers, amongst other artists. It works through PayPal, so if you by any chance want to support someone – you'll need a PayPal account.
I chose this platform because it's very user friendly and it works for me the best. The entire idea of you buying "a coffee" to someone you want to support is very nice!
In my profile, there's an option of subscription where you can become a monthly subscriber and by that, you get an access to exclusive posts such as teasers, moodboards, games etc.. You can cancel it any time!
Or there's an option of one-off donation where you just send the money and that's it! :) Don't get intimated by the currency, it doesn't matter! Right now my profile is set up in euros, but you can pay in dollars, pounds etc.
It's very easy once you look at the profile and browse through it. You can choose amount to donate from 5 – 7 – 10 euros because that's what I've set up for the time being. Just be careful when you're choosing a one-off donation or want to become a monthly subscriber, so you don't choose an option you don't want to!
If you've got any questions, send them in!

Hi lovelies once again sharing a beautiful family in need of donations due to the war on Gaza:
Hi everyone I'm Dahlia I'm trying to raise funds to help my friend Rawan and her family. I swear that every cent will be sent to them.
Here's her story:
Hello everyone, my name is Rawan Daoud, I am 20 years old
This is supposed to be my first year of university
I obtained a high school GPA of 97.9 after working hard throughout the school year, and obtaining this GPA was part of achieving my goal. After the seventh of October, life turned into a tragic and bitter reality, after we were living a good life.
A war broke out on my city of Gaza on this date, then my university was destroyed, destroying my dreams, passion, and ambition, and the academic year was lost for all students. We live in difficult circumstances, where the necessities of life are difficult to provide, and my mother needs treatments on a monthly basis.
Therefore, I reach out to our friends, family, and sympathetic strangers in the hope that together we can achieve my goal, which is to save my future and live safely with my family, as coordination to exit to the Egyptian border requires $5,000 per person, and these are extremely exorbitant sums.
Every dollar you contribute becomes a lifeline for me and my family and will help us continue our lives. Your help can make a big difference. You can play a vital role in realizing Rawan’s dreams and strengthening hope for her and her family.

so, i've made a decision; lil' announcement.
in light of recent corporate volatility at patreon, and due to the fact that the site's management has frequently subverted some of my friends' income, i have opted to fully move my monthly crowdfunding efforts - "the postmodern hellforest" - over to ko-fi.
billing on my patreon has been paused, and will remain so until its eventual closure. those of you who got a yearly membership: please feel free to request a refund!! we'll get it sorted.
on ko-fi, there's a new 3$ (or more, if you wish to support me beyond!!) tier on ko-fi that will pull the thicket aside for some sneak peeks at the projects i'm presently working on!
you also get discord access to the little, close-knit community of people that think my stuff's pretty neato, too.
3 dollars! three of them. and because this isn't (quite as bad of a) venture capital nightmare, there's no dumb, hidden fees to be worried about! you pay 3$, and that's all you pay.
(art above by @kitet-frogspond!)

🩸.━━━━━━━━━━.🔴.━━━━━━━━━━━.🩸
Jungkook never wanted this life. He never chose to be like this, never made the same mistakes Yoongi did when he was younger. So even to this day, Yoongi sometimes feels a certain sense of pity for the young man.
Yoongi got infected when he was not even twenty years old. He chose the risk- knew what could happen if he was to participate in underground blood trading. But he needed the money. He needed to survive. And back then, even now, the quickest way to make a lot of money, is by offering your blood.
It didn't even take a month until he noticed the first signs of infection.
Fatigue, loss of sensation in hands and feet, odd food cravings and night sweats. It turned into cramps, dizziness, headaches and migranes, soon to be followed by nausea and the inability to really function anymore. He couldn't concentrate on anything. He couldn't live like this.
When he was sent to the ER by a roommate of his, back then, he already knew what would happen. And later that night, he was diagnosed.
Vampirism.
Yoongi wasn't surprised. Neither was Seokjin, his roommate, who knew what he had done to gain the money he needed to fund his survival. It didn't surprise anyone.
Everything changed.
He had to carry a specific passport of some sorts with him from then on, one that would hold all information regarding his condition, blood donations, everything. Even criminal records- though to this day, Yoongi has never had anything written down like that in his booklet. He's a calm one- or so the nurses say whenever he visits the donation center to receive his monthly donation.
Yoongi actually worked as an introductory patient here and there- helping new donors who feel scared of donating blood to someone with vampirism for the first time.
It's how he met Jungkook.
jungkook got infected only two years ago- by a now former lover, who never told him that she carried the infectious disease. She had promised, assured him that she wasn't carrying the active variant of vampirism- but that she instead was a 'sleeper', unable to infect other people by bite. And with jungkook so in love and trusting, he had believed her.
She had almost killed him, Yoongi now knows. Had almost murdered the young man who had done nothing to ever deserve to be used like that.
Today, Jungkook trusts again. Jungkook is happy again- he smiles, and grins, and loves everything around him again. Well- or so he would, if he could.
"Maybe today.." Yoongi offers, helping his now partner up the small set of stairs into the donation center. "I'm sure they'll have something for you today." he mutters, though he doesn't really believe it himself.
It's been months.
It happened almost three months prior, when suddenly no blood donation seemed to improve Jungkook's situation anymore. He just got sicker and sicker, like Yoongi when he was first infected and refused to get help or seek treatment- but for Jungkook, there was no treatment. The only thing they could do was test out other blood types-
but nothing worked.
And today, he waits again. Hour after hour, Jungkook already asleep on his shoulder in the waiting room, patient after patient being called in and leaving again-
but no one calls his name.
🩸.━━━━━━━━━━.🔴.━━━━━━━━━━━.🩸
You almost trip as you walk into the waiting room, apologizing silently to the people sitting down close by. There's an elderly lady, a mother with a young child- and two young men, one of them sleeping against the shoulder of his friend next to him, who seems to anxiously type away on his phone.
"Ah yes, we got your blood results today.." the nurse says, typping through some things before her eyes widen. "Let me just.. uh- let me ask something real quick, yeah? I'll be right back!" she rushes out, walking into a different room with some papers she'd printed out, leaving you a bit concerned with yourself as you stand there, next to where the two young men sit. One of them groans a bit, as if in pain- and you now notice how pale he is, sweat covering his forehead.
"I know, I'm sorry.." the man next to him sighs, watching how his friend's face scrunches up for a moment. "Fuck this." he suddenly mumbles, waking his friend up. "hey- Jungkook, come. I'll figure out something better." he says, helping his friend stand-
though he trips, falls right into you, who barely manages to keep him upright.
"Fuck- sorry, He's harmless." The man next to him apologises, and you wave him off.
"No problem." you say, keeping your hands close to the young man you now know is named Jungkook, who seems to almost lean into your touch, hazily turning his face towards you- eyes a deep cherry red.
"Vampirism?" you say, and the man next to him clicks his tongue.
"he's harmless." he repeats, as if you just insultet Jungkook- which you didn't actually intend to do.
"Oh, no no I didn't mean it badly!" you say, earning the gaze of the stranger on you. "just surprised, is all. Will he be okay?" You worry, and the man sighs.
"...yeah." he simply says. "I'll figure something-"
"Mister Min!" the nurse who just talked to you comes out the room, waving some papers. "We have a match!" She smiles, and mister Min next to you suddenly seemed to have turned 180 degrees- because now he looks almost cute, with wide open, round eyes and slightly parted lips. "miss, if you would follow me?" she says, and you nod, walking after her- mister Min and Jungkook right behind you.
"Oh, so he needed a donation?" you wonder, looking at a struggling Jungkook.
"Yes, his body has rejected all other blood options we've had." the nurse informs you, and you hum.
"Will she have enough?" Mister min from behind you mumbles, helping his friend walk. "Have you donated before?" he asks you almost as if to accuse you, and you shake your head, a bit nervous now.
"no- like, no I never donated, I don't know how much blood you give at these appointments." you say sheepishly, and the nurse opens a door down the hall before she steps aside to have you all walk in.
"for first-timers, we typically don't take too much blood." she explans, motioning her hand for you to sit down on a chair that looks awfully similar to the one's at the dentist. "So don't worry." she smiles.
"but-" you ask, watching Jungkook mostly fall into the chair next to you. "won't he need more than just a bit?" you worry, and the nurse sighs.
"anything will help." she tries to reassure, earning a glare from mister Min. "your donation is important either way."
"I'd like to give as much as I can." you say, determined- earning a surprised look from mister min- and even Jungkook seems to move his head to look at you with tired eyes. "I don't have anything else to do today, and the day off tomorrow. And I feel great!" you proudly exclaim. "I did all the stuff the clinic sent me- like, eat healthy, do regular sports, all that." you announce happily, and you could swear that Jungkook looks almost-
as if he wants to smile.
"we'll see how you do, okay?" the nurse says, a hand on your shoulder. "you can tell me to stop at any time, no shame in it." she makes sure to tell you, and you nod as you watch her leave for a moment.
"you don't have to do this." Mister Min says. "like she says, even the beginner amount is enough." he mumbles, but you shake your head.
"no, it's fine." you reassure them. "I wanna help. He looks like he really needs it." you joke a bit softly, watching Jungkook quietly bow a little. "are you guys close friends?" you wonder, and Mister Min scoffs.
"oh- Oh! I didn't know!" you laugh. "It must be hard to watch your partner suffer like that." you say, and he nods.
"somewhat." he says. "we've been together for.. two years now." he says, and watches how you seem to turn a bit red at that.
"I didn't know what to do." he confesses. "I'm.. thank you. For doing this." Mister min tells you. "he never chose this, so I'm glad you can help him for now until we can figure out something long term." he says.
"Oh I can keep donating!" you say. "I'm not scared of needles and stuff. See?" you point towards your ears, which are both heavily pierced with pink and silver jewelry. "I don't mind coming here regularly."
"you don't have to." Mister Min says again.
"I know." you say. "but I want to." you tell him almost teasingly, and he cant help but smile to himself a little.
reassured.
When the nurse comes back in, and sets everything up, you're still calm. "Blood pressure is nice." the nurse says to herself, writing something down. "we'll monitor how your body behaves during this donation, just to stay safe." she informs you, connecting some things. "and we'll monitor him, to make sure he doesn't fall into a blood-rush." she reassures you, and you nod, a bit unsure.
"what's a blood rush?" you wonder, and she nods.
"Sometimes, if people infected with the sleeping variant of vampirism, a blood donation can trigger the disease to 'wake', so to say. It could become active in that case, and would cause his body to go into shock." she explains, wiping a spot on Jungkook's arm with a disinfectant wipe before she places a needle there so he can receive the donation. "It's also why we won't let him.. reiceive the donation normally. We have to monitor and control how much exactly he receives." she explains. "because he might not be able to control his hunger."
"oh." you simply say, nodding.
"he won't go berserk and try to eat you." Mister min clarifies, glaring at the nurse. "but it's like refeeding syndrome in a human. You can't just give a starving person a buffet and expect them to only eat a bowl of soup." he tells you.
"yeah, that makes sense." you nod, cringing a bit when the needle is pinched into your arm as well.
For a good while, it's silent as you get comfortable, looking at the ceiling lights while you feel how your arm weakens a little. Meanwhile next to you, Jungkook seems to breathe deeper, stronger, color returning to his complexion.
"So.. what do you work as?" you wonder, a bit awkward as you look at Mister Min. "you don't have to answer.. just.. the silence is kind of weird." you giggle, and he nods.
"I guess." he agrees. "I'm a producer. I make music." he offers, and you nod, lips parted. He catches himself staring at them for just a second.
"Oh that's so cool." you smile brightly. "I always wanted to do somehing with art too, when I was younger. But my dad thought that was stupid, so he didn't allow me to go study it." you say, and Yoongi can spot the way you seem to grow a little more tired now.
"What did you do instead?" he wonders, speaks softly, gentle, as he watches you.
"hm, at first I studied finance and stuff. Because my dad wanted me to." you explain. "I always aimed for his praise, but I realized years into my studies that it wasn't worth the effort. So I dropped out." you shrug. "Now I'm an author, for like, fantasy novels. They're pretty embarrassing though, I won't lie." you giggle. "I work as a waitress on the side. To have enough to live comfortably, you know?" you mumble now, and the nurse chimes up.
"Can you sit up a bit for me?" she asks you, and you nod, doing as she says. "your blood pressure is dropping a little. How do you feel?" she checks in, and you look over at Jungkook, who takes in a deep breath as if for the first time.
"I'm fine." you smile with your gaze on him. "I think I just got a bit too comfortable in the chair." you giggle, and Yoongi watches.
You're odd.
"Hmhm-" she hums in approval. "we'll stop in a few minutes to not overwhelm him. You're doing great, miss." she praises, and you nod happily.
"Do you have someone to drive you home?" mister Min asks, and you shake your head.
"I'll take public transport." you inform him, but he shakes his head.
"I can drive you. That's safer." he offers, and you shrug, before nodding when the nurse gets up to clip up the narrow tube connected to Jungkook's arm, waking him up it seems like.
He blinks a couple of times, before he rubs his eyes, like things are too bright for a moment. His arm is free of the needle, as he looks around, at Yoongi- then at you. It's like he just woke up- his eyes finally open, his posture a lot straighter, and while he's still a bit pale, he doesn't look as bad as before.
"nice to meet you." you joke, slurring your words a little as you hiss when the nurse accidentally removes the needle too fast.
"Nice to meet you too." Jungkook answers for the first time-
voice gentle, and forever ingraved into your mind.
🩸.━━━━━━━━━━.🔴.━━━━━━━━━━━.🩸
You're yawning in the back of his car as Yoongi drives through the busy town, having received your adress earlier from you. "How do you feel?" he asks Jungkook next to him.
"hungry." he laughs. "honestly, I've not felt this good in a while. Like I can breathe again." he chuckles, before looking back, watching you in the mirror of the car- his eyes smiling at you when you smile back, sleepily leaning against the car door next to you. "You really didn't have to go all out for me." he says back at you, but you wave him off.
"nah, It's fine." you reassure. "I'm a big girl, I can handle it!" you joke, and Jungkook laughs in the front, shaking his head. You seem really bubbly and energetic- well when you're not all exhausted from donating blood, that is. And you also make him taste a bit of a bitter aftertaste- because you seem just like him, before he was so harshly kicked in the gut by his ex partner. So trusting, helpful, selfless. He hopes you won't have to make the same experiences that he's had to go through in the past.
You don't deserve that.
"Do you live alone?" Yoongi asks from the front- you've finally gotten his name a few minutes before. You nod, and he seems to think a little. "Will you be okay?" he asks, and you nod again- stubborn as ever, it seems like. "why did I even ask.." he sighs a little playfully, making Jungkook laugh from the passenger seat.
"Can I maybe have your number?" Jungkook asks. "Just to check in with you. If that's okay." he asks, and you nod, pulling out your phone to have him type in his number into your contacts.
Yoongi kind of wishes he was this bold too. But maybe that's where Jungkook fits him well- makes up for his own shortcomings.
"I'll probably leave you on read for the entire day today though" you laugh when you get your phone back. "I'm absolutely beat." you giggle, and Jungkook nods.
"I can only imagine." he watches you a bit, when Yoongi pulls into a parking lot in front of the tall apartment complex you live in.
"Home sweet home!" you exclaim, stretching your arms before you open the door. "thanks for bringing me home. I'll see you next month!" you joke, and both men say their goodbyes as you close the door behind you, walking towards the entrance of the apartment complex before you dissappear behind the door.
And in secret silence, as Jungkook and Yoongi drive home, both can't help but wonder.
Why does next month sound way too far away?

sunaosa week day 7: past / future
suna stands in the center of his living room, hands on his hips, surrounded by boxes. after a long and successful volleyball career, it’s time for him to hang up his court shoes, fold the compression sleeves, and frame the jerseys. his retirement press conference went without a hitch, and so did his farewell party with ejp. all that’s left is to pack up his apartment, and move everything to his new home with his husband in hyogo.
it's the start of a new chapter.
osamu is in the kitchen, carefully wrapping the glassware in newspaper and old copies of volleyball monthly. he straightens to stretch his back, suna watching out of the corner of his eye. “everything good over there?” he asks.
“yeah. where are ya gonna donate these?”
“probably the nearby restaurants. “i’ll bring the cups to ejp.” they were always short on coffee mugs in the lounge, and most of his are in good condition. “washio said he’ll take the pots and pans, komori will take the air fryer, and nagito wants the blender.” osamu insisted they’ll buy everything new for their kitchen, which is why most of it is being pawned off.
“i put the pots’n’pans in a box fer him. he can just take it whenever.”
suna nods, then surveys the living room. they’re taking his tv, but donating the coffee table, couch, porch chairs, and shelves. the books and pictures are already packed, accolades safely wrapped and sealed. the bathroom is packed too, towels tossed with his clothes, toiletries spent. all that’s left is his bedroom.
it’s surprisingly cluttered, despite how little he brought with him. leading up to his retirement, he donated most of his training gear, along with clothes that no longer fit. he prepares a box and starts going through his desk drawers, filled with old receipts, invoices, contracts, and documents. osamu joins him, recycling bin in hand. “thought ya might need this.”
“thanks.” suna inspects each piece of paper before tossing it, just in case. osamu continues to pack the clothes in another box, an effort that suna abandoned halfway for a change of pace. they work quietly, until–
“hey, rin. look at this.”
suna turns around. osamu has a wrinkled envelope in hand, his name addressed on the front. it’s sealed shut, so he fetches a pair of scissors from the kitchen to slice it open. “did ya write me a love letter at one point?”
“actually…”
inside are three folded pieces of paper. osamu stares at the first page – specifically, the date. “ya wrote this…five years ago?”
he nods, joining him on the floor. “yeah.”
“were ya gonna send it ta me, or…”
“i was, but…well, you know what happened.” although many of their friends call them high school sweethearts, they broke up when they were 21, were exes for three years, and then got back together on new year’s on the cusp of the fourth. the reasons for their separation sound amateurish now – they couldn’t handle the distance, they were chasing parallel dreams, they couldn’t, didn’t, wouldn’t make time for each other.
while they were separated, osamu opened three more onigiri miya locations; suna played in the olympics and overseas. osamu won awards for his food and service; suna became sponsored by top brands and corporations. osamu starred in documentaries and television shows; suna was featured in interviews and press conferences.
when they met again during the new year’s party organized by inarizaki alumni, both agreed that it made sense to try again, now that they were older, smarter, better. it led to an engagement. it led to marriage. it led to this.
a life together, walking down a singular path.
“i was in chicago, i think. i felt homesick after eating at a japanese restaurant because their onigiri…reminded me of you.” suna’s arm snakes around osamu’s waist, resting his head on his shoulder to read his own writing, shaky kanji after years of writing mostly english. “i missed you, but i couldn’t tell you, so i…wrote you a letter.”
he remembers that night vividly. his teammates took him there for his birthday, where all the dishes were recipes passed down through the owner’s family. as he ate, all he could think about was home, but what came to mind wasn’t aichi, hyogo, nor shizuoka. instead, it was osamu.
osamu, who would video call him for hours while working in the kitchen. osamu, who would reply to his memes or shitposts with equally cursed content. osamu, who would sleep shirtless so he could absorb suna’s body heat, even in the middle of winter.
when home is a person that you can’t have, what does home become?
osamu flips to the second page. the kanji is messier, strokes uneven, with increasing amounts of hiragana to substitute the characters that suna couldn’t remember how to write. he is quiet, eyes traveling across the lines, pensive. then, he reaches the last page, which only contains a few lines.
when i’m with you, i feel timeless, because my love for you is infinite, no matter the distance or time. i used to fear what the life without volleyball would look like, but i’m not afraid anymore, because i know that it’ll always be with you.
“rin.” a hand finds his, the slim silver band digging into his skin. suna looks into osamu’s eyes, the same as he did on their wedding day, and sees nothing but love in its depths, an endless pool constructed of memories between them, from the first day they met at inarizaki, to now, sitting on his floor among boxes, packing a past to bring into the future.
“i never told ya, but in all those years…i never stopped lovin’ ya, either.” his voice rumbles deep and tight, the telltale sign that he’s holding back tears. “i knew why we had ta do it, but…if i were more selfish, i woulda asked ta keep tryin’, an’ tryin’, an tryin’. yer worth all my effort.”
“i wish we were both more selfish,” suna murmurs. “but look. we made it.” he puts their hands together, matching bands gleaming in the light. “you’re a successful business owner. i had the best volleyball run of my life. and now, we have each other. we’ll always have each other.”
the letter falls as they kiss, enveloped in one another’s warmth. there is one part of the writing where the ink is smudged, paper slightly wrinkled, relics of tears shed for a lost love, now a witness to a love that is eternal, that will light their way through the unknown, that will guide them to a new life.
together.

Mimi why don’t you write a book and publish it on Amazon or smth like that? You would make profit from it. Your writing style is AMAZING and there are so many authors (in my opinion like Colleen Hoover ) their books are so trashhyyyy😭. I think the way you write the characters and story lines are PERFECT. You have already so many people who like to read your story’s. I think the most of them would like to buy your books as well 💕 it’s a hard work and it takes a lottt of time but at the end it will be worth it💕
ahhh i don't know! i get so many messages about this, but i don't even know where i'd begin and if i want to push it to another level ahah. at the moment, i have a ko-fi account where people can donate a certain amount if they feel like it or become monthly subscribers to access exclusive content. but my mind is definitely more open after seeing everyone's support on this matter!
thank you! i don't think i'm better than anyone and at the end, this is mostly just a hobby to me. i'm feeling extremely loved when someone says they enjoy my works ♡ thank you again bub!

Some mostly modern day Eruri headcanons I have floating around my head:
- Erwin's vision gets bad as he gets older, meaning he has to wear glasses. When he looks in the mirror he feels both comforted and saddened by his resemblance to his father. So levi always makes a point to compliment him in his glasses.
- they both love hiking and being outdoors. Erwin always manages to make friends with strangers whilst Levi is always trying to drag him away so they can get to the peak in good time.
- they both love routine. Levi meal preps and gets annoyed when Erwin is craving something that isn't on the weekly menu plan but he makes it anyway.
- they're both wonderful with children in their own way. Erwin listens to children and makes them feel heard by asking questions and taking their thoughts seriously. Levi ensures their environment is safe and clean, and gives children their space until they feel more comfortable.
- levi loves photography. He has a keen eye for details like lighting and framing. His favourite subject to shoot is Erwin, but he would never admit that.
- Erwin has a major sweet tooth and Levi makes sure to indulge in once in a while without causing more fillings
- Erwin prefers dogs but he loves cats. Levi prefers cats but loves dogs. They make it work and have one each. Levi hated the mess and fur at first but Erwin has definitely seen him sneaking them extra treats.
- Erwin has some kinda high paying, important job so Levi could go without work if he wanted to, but he likes to stay busy. So he also helps out at a local orphanage. Erwin donates his bonuses and a monthly stipend to the children in Levi's name.

I really didn’t want it to come to this, and I’ve been trying to keep this off social media for a while now, but I gotta try and I hope you can spare me a moment of your time.
Long story short… I’m being retrenched at work. All of us are at my company. The company I’m working for isn’t doing well—big companies (when I say “big”, I mean companies like oil and gas and electric utility) are not paying what they owe us, and sponsorships have dwindled. I only knew this recently, but my boss has had to partly back our salaries these last few months using her own savings.
We were handed our termination letters and effective January 1, 2025, we will all be unemployed. I have some money in my investment savings thingy, and I can apply for unemployment aid from the government, but these won’t be enough as I have things to pay for and monthly commitments and I don’t want to fully rely on those.
My boss also said that while we will receive our salaries this month, we might not get them in time for November and December unless we get paid what we’re owed.
I’m currently working on my resume and cover letter to send out to companies, and I’m keeping an eye out for employment opportunities. I’ll also be asking around to see if any of my family and friends know of any vacancies.
Therefore, and I really dread asking this, if anyone would want to help me, you can help donate to my Ko-Fi or you can DM me if you prefer PayPal. Any amount will do, and I’ll be grateful for your support. If you can’t, it’s okay as well—I understand money is tight for a lot of people.
If anyone is interested, I’m also offering proofreading and editing services. I have been a news editor for English publications since 2018, so I have the experience and skills for that. We can discuss payment in DMs.
If you’ve made it to the end of this post, thank you. Asking for help with money is something that’s hard for me to do, and I totally understand if you can’t. Nevertheless, thank you for lending me your time 🩷
(Feel free to reblog this post, I’d really appreciate it!)

saturday, may 4 — miscellaneous 141 hobbies during dwell time
╭ soap: hes an energetic man through and through.
hes constantly doodling and journaling. johnny likes to write down what hes doing during the day to keep a clear head. also, why not use the time he has off to draw what he likes? neighbors may commission him for small works of art to keep around their house.
he also owns a podcast! while he doesnt have the largest fanbase, he, as mentioned, likes to just relax and go over what he did for the day. many would think he just likes to hear the sound of his voice, but in reality, its a way to calm down and clear his head!
hiking as well. he just has a lot of energy and needs to get it out one way or another — so he uses the extra energy to observe nature in a hike!
ghost: his hobbies have to be that of an old man.
he maintains a lovely garden! full of lush vegetables or colorful flowers, simon likes the idea of caring for something helpless. often times, he'll donate extra crops to the local businesses or markets; getting praised by the thankful women and men that know him by name.
birdwatching is something he picked up pretty early on. he believes it keeps his memory sharp and his observation skills and patience keen. maybe he has soap draw them for him, who knows!
him playing with dominoes is so funny to me. simon is bent over the table, stacking a line of dominoes with the patience of a saint. well, until he knocks the longest line over and swears under his breath.
gaz: he likes to be productive and keep busy!
he cooks, its a known fact! when he isnt busy with work or other hobbies, he'll happily scramble up a four course meal — kyle is always happy to share his cod fish with the shaky street cats outdoors.
kyle goes to sculpting and painting classes. hes no artist, but it keeps his attention. he really enjoys using his hands to make something nice, and doesnt mind the mess left behind.
beekeeping. pretty boy is not afraid of bees, and gets yummy honey, all from being calm and caring to the fuzzy bumblebees he nurtures in his backyard.
╰ price: he probably has generic man hobbies.
fishing is his go-to. he can name most fish he catches, and can get the fish off his hook in the matter of seconds. perhaps gets gaz to cook them? all i know is he definitely shows off to his neighbors.
price goes to his bookclub! full of confident women that happily engage in his opinion on their monthly book options. he actually gives very detailed opinions on parts he likes and gets really psychological.
pottery is only when he gets bored. despite the roughness of his hands, he can create really nice vases! keeps a couple at his home, and offers the rest to the ladies in the bookclub.

Hello Everyone.
I want to clarify now, Posts like these will be rare on this blog.
This blog is primarily a place to discuss, headcanon, and do general fandom shenanigans.
As Billy Joel might say, It's a place to forget about life for a while.
But given the current goings on in the world, I Will be changing my pinned post to this link.
If you're like me, you may not have much disposable income. So it's hard to donate when causes you care about pop up.
This website uses advertisers and literal button clicks to generate donations.
My platform here is small, and primarily for fandom fun times, and it will remain as such. As previously stated, This will be a rare post of this kind on this blog.
But I wanted to give others the opportunity to help in this small way. And use my platform to spread this resource.
This website has buttons to click to help with issues like poverty, women's rights, the refugees in palestine, refugees in general and the environment.
Thank you for your time and consideration. And I hope you continue to enjoy my mad 40k ramblings.
Edit: Slight modification, I've changed Only Post of this kind to Rare as I have reblogged some other things not related to fandom and yes they were related to modern or otherwise issues.
I still want to keep this place 90% dumb fun, but even dumb fun has to be sober some times.
Edit 2: I've decided I Will be reblogging the occasional help or aid or donation post. Probably one or two every few days. If you want to Only see the fandom stuff on my blog avoid/block the posts with the tags #not warhammer #not fandom and #not 40k
Thank you for love and support. And big hugs to my mutuals. They deserve all of it.
Edit 3: Navigation
To Find all my writings use/search with the #c u ckoo anon tag.
To find my art pieces use/search #c u c koo art tag
To find the Severe Miscalculation Storyline search the #oc: khopesh tag
If something is a reblog or answer it will be under #c u ckoo response
Edit 4: Donation Posts will now be tagged with #c u c koo donation posting
All these tags can be found on this post at the very end of all the others.
Edit 5: Featured campaign! I've decided that every week I will post a link to a different campaign below.
I will also try to link the reblogs of the campaign that include the verification if any exist.
Current Campaign.
€2,595 / €35,000
7% Funded Currently
Edit 5! Also! Here's a link to a website that is filled with vetted fundraisers!
Edit 6! Ask box is Super full so it may take a while for me to reblog your campaign. I work from the oldest up.
I'm also trying to give the campaigns in my Dms attention every other day so please be aware.
Edit 7: I'm still reblogging campaigns, but now I'm going to work on them in smaller groups.
I'm going to reblog a Handful of DM campaigns, and a Handful of asks each day. Exact numbers might change day to day, but I'll try to keep them to the same amount.
I've got over 50 campaigns in my dms and over 500 asks to work through.
I want to do proper posts and updates when I boost them.
Thank you for understanding.
Edit 8: In regards to Donation Matching.
I Can Only Donate to a Few Campaigns every Month. And I Only donate at the End of months.
I have to make sure All my monthly expenses are taken care of.
The campaigns chosen are mostly random.

Final update on the whole story I'm working on for a bit, I am just going to drop in a read more. I hope you guys enjoy reading it
Today is the 3rd Sunday of the Month, this means that the city of Saltpeter’s oddities, mistakes, and rarities have come together for Brunch, the national pastime of this peculiar crowd, among them are 2 librarians, a museum curator, a traveling beekeeper, a pen crafter, and about 20 other peculiar fellows. Take great note on the pair of drab brown haired people sitting at the very back of the train station restaurant. These boring sorts go by the names of Danny Jones and Danielle Jones and hold absolutely no relation to each other.
The thing about Danny Jones and Danielle Jones that is so interesting is not the fact that they share a birthday or last names despite being unrelated in any way other than a lesbian aunt 7 generations back, is the fact that these are the 2 most dull and boring individuals you will ever meet. Both have the personality of sliced bread and they aren’t much better in fashion either. There is nothing special about either Jones, they both live completely ordinary lives as shopkeepers on opposite ends of town. The most eventful thing either will do in a month is a Sunday Brunch. And yet both have managed to obtain a loving relationship with incredibly interesting people. And more interesting still is the fact that both are going to wind up dead at the end of the month.
Now to understand why this will happen, you must understand Saltpeter, importantly there are 4 cultural institutions in the city of Saltpeter, Firstly is the Library, it is one of the 3 which is actually known to the people of Saltpeter, and houses exactly 17,943 books and 67 are currently checked out. Next is the Museum of Maria Fernando, a town crazy lady who runs a museum on the way things used to be, this is the institution people like to forget, despite mattering quite a lot to the city, it has received exactly 17 visitors this month and stays afloat via Maria’s wife’s second cousin’s generous yearly donations in exchange for copies of old novels. The 3rd cultural institution is the rail station, it is on the route of the oldest train in the nation, the California Zephyr and is run by the best chef in the city, Leaf Ann Smith, capable of both killing a man and cooking in Omelette in under 20 minutes. Finally there's the Pen shop, they sell pens, specifically fountain pens, each are hand made by a Saltpeter craftsman, it made the list because we were paid 72$ to add it. If someone wants to stretch the definition of an institution, they could get it up to about 20 institutions and a playhouse worth of cultural amenities, but they would also have to include the brunch of the misfits of Saltpeter, which really shouldn’t be added on principle since it happens in Leaf Ann Smith’s train station anyways.
Now back to the Brunch, something very important is about to happen, There will be a rather large toast to the group. This is on account of it being the 3rd anniversary of the start of the groups monthly meetings. Somehow that is a point of pride among the members due to how it is the longest any Brunch group in Saltpeter has lasted after the Infamous Brunch fights 20 years ago. The Brunch fights were a rather dreary matter for such a pleasant pastime. 27 dead and 63 injured over a week. All because of bad French Toast at an upscale restaurant near downtown Saltpeter. And when I say bad, I mean bad, it was soggy, barely toasted, and didn't have any fruits except the one eating it. It's not even like Saltpeter doesn't have any strawberries, it was built on the largest strawberry farm west of the Mississippi. How do you fuck up French Toast that badly? How?
Oh right, the Toast to the Brunch crew, A tall woman in a Green Dress, a leather Jacket and Gold Hoop earings stands up, her hair is cut in a pixie cut. She grabs a Mimosa off the table and begins to talk. Hurricane Jane Rivers as they call her is many things, a lesbian, crazy, a storm chaser, dangerous, a purveyor of Pancakes, a painter and an aerial ace, but one thing she is not is consise. It would take 7 paragraphs to summarize her speech to that disparate group of oddities. In short though, she was thanking them for the best 3 years of her life. Little did she know, only half of them would see next month.
As her glass hits the glass of another member of the Brunch, a whisper rings through the air.
A tick of a second
And Bang, the train comes to a screeching halt outside the station, passengers get off as Leaf Ann Smith scrambles to hide her current mess of a Diner from the view of the wealthy tourists from downtown the tracks. The train is early for once. Precisely 17 minutes and 6 seconds early, something that should not have been possible given the fact that the train tracks were under repairs between Omaha and Saltpeter. And the train had a 2 minute delay when it arrived at the last station. This is all irrelevant if not to show how off guard it caught Leaf Ann Smith who usually manages to keep incredibly on top of the schedules of the train so she can run the station and Diner at once. Leaf Ann Smith is a busy Woman between the Diner, the Station and her time moonlighting as the union negotiator for between the carpenters guild and Sylvia Ink the sole crafter of fountain pens in Saltpeter and a person notoriously bad at paying their union dues.
