I think I've become an official HI3 player. I check the HSR leaks hoping for iterations of HI3 characters now

#I have little hope about some of them. For instance the Su and Kevin voice actors are taken by Aventurine and the Trailblazer iirc?#Kalpas' voice actor does the male Dreamseeker in Part 2 of HI3 which is not as terminal considering HSR is a different game but still #Luocha thankfully exists. I don't think they'll be introducing Kiana anytime soon #I would love Sakura but I'm way more into PE Sakura than CE Sakura and then there's what they did with Miko #Some of my favourite things of PE Sakura they gave to Jingliu or Acheron already (freeze time‚ haunted and corrupted by loss‚#unable to unsheathe a sword and memories coming back to her when she does‚#piercing someone's heart with her sword but the other person living on with a new life‚...)#Thus an iteration of all that but with the cool things missing could get messy and unsatisfactory pretty easily #Mobius and MEI are similar to Mei and Herta so they're in a similar situation to PE Sakura #I find Griseo somewhat unsettling in a good way and in a way same with Eden. I love all the loss weighing on her as if she had already dead #with the concept of her being The Era itself and the era dying. So I wouldn't mind seeing them too #Hua seems like she may appear in the Xianzhou? Given the Marshall existence and that the Xianzhou drinks a lot of those concepts #Blade‚ Dan Heng and Jingliu drink so much of Fu Hua. I don't care about Hua though. The Herrscher I did like though #I'm curious about what they'll do #Other than the Chinese voice actor having already a steady job in Mihoyo‚ there's echoes of Kalpas in Blade‚ Arlan and Sam #so I really don't have much hope there. Not as little as with Kevin and Su perhaps but... yeah not really a lot of hope #Yet here I am. Hopelessly hoping for a Kalpas iteration. Imagine how beautiful the fire would be *sigh*#I was so mad about him being my favourite in HI3 but it just makes sense #Besides the Guzm.a process he went me go through‚ he truly has a lot of themes going on that recall Blade. I don't know...#I like his CN voice actor a lot‚ and how he plays Kalpas in particular‚ both when he's calm and when he's deranged #The Dreamseeker doesn't have the same voice at all unfortunately. I would really love to see him in HSR what can I say #That's the kind of person I've become. In a little bit of time I'll be wanting a Kalpas plushie at this rate #I talk too much #I should probably delete this later

i've got stuff to do tonight but i am thinking about how it absolutely fucking pains me to see the joy and energy and love of living sapped from constantine's spirit over the initial run of hellblazer. like he goes from this spirited, wisecracking, life-loving, bully-punching, fastidious little guy to a man so disintegrated by decades of grief and being used and never being good enough for anyone that he was willing to be buried alive to serve a cause he didn't even care about. thank god they gave him back some friendly connections and some semblance of hope by the end of "red right hand", because that late-hellblazer constantine was utterly unrecognizable and it broke my heart.

#( ooc. ) OUT OF CIGS.#now let's be real: this shift was 90% that shitbird azzarello's fault #because that loser could not BEGIN to fathom the radical kindness and open queerness of early hellblazer and he didn't even fucking try #and his writing stained the character for YEARS because so many after him continued with that Macho Quasi-Devil image #and there is a LOT of his run that i categorically refuse to take as text #but from an in-universe perspective? seeing constantine crumble over time like that? fucking Oof #the beast of eden + rosacarnis + the gift/cheryl dying were really a turning point for him. they were his last straw #and i always like to read 'red right hand' with the grieving process close to mind because that's his depression + acceptance stage #the point where he finally finds something to live for again and starts to climb back out of his spiral #anyway shoutout to si spurrier for bringing some of john's love of the little things in life back to his run bc FUCK was it some fresh air #acknowledging all his trauma and all he's lost while still giving him moments of levity? Bless #idk does any of this make sense? i've been on a reread and losing my mind as always

Eden has issues with authority but not teenage rebellion issues more like "If our morals align I will follow you around like a stray dog you've fed until you kick me away". She makes a great guard dog.

^This ties in with her need to be part of a hierarchy, placing everyone she meets either above or below her. She still respects all the people above her, because she has to, but the energy she gives to following orders from those she likes vastly differs from what she gives those she doesn't like.

ok i finished the first chapter and am gonna take a break now but im v excited to keep reading im really liking the way the author looks at things so far

#there are parts ive kinda disagreed with either what shes saying or how shes saying it but i mean given the whole point of the book i doubt #that the author would take offense at that and would in fact encourage it esp given that its a book and not a convo #like. i should hope i have some disagreements with just the introductory chapter‚ she hasnt had a chance to fully explain herself yet and #i feel like having a written record of my disagreement before potentially changing my mind is very much in the spirit of the ideas this book #is offering yknow #like at one point shes talking about religious perspectives on wrongness and says some scholars believe its abt like #our wrongness comes from eden‚ our lack of understanding of absolute right and wrong that god has #but its like. ok but the whole point with the garden of eden was that the lack of knowledge of right and wrong /was/ the extra knowledge #god had and we didnt that prevented us from sinning #eating of the tree and Gaining the knowledge of good and evil was what gave humans the ability to sin in the first place #because if we cant know something is wrong and choose to do it anyways then what is the sin?#its like how with animals we don't see them killing each other as wrong #because they dont have 'morals' like we do‚ they dont have a sense of right vs wrong so the things they do cant be classified that way #so idk if its like. thats just a difference in how my church taught us vs the scholars the author checked out #or just like. a misunderstanding in the story of eden?#i just dont get presenting eden as the example for 'we dont have the knowledge of right and wrong god does so thats what makes us able to #do wrong' when the whole thing with that story was like.#gaining the knowledge of right and wrong was what gave us that ability. like thats just backwards #(also disclaimer that i am not a christian and do not actually believe in these things‚ im just using the language as if i do here to kinda #speak from the perspective of my past self who /did/ believe it)#so im excited to find out if like. shes gonna expand further on that (next chapter is abt history so maybe) and ill be like #ohhhhh ok i see what that meant #or if ill be like 'hm yeah you just maybe had a misconception abt how the garden of eden story worked'#and like i can kinda see room for the first one already in that it said like 'we dont have gods /absolute/ knowledge of right and wrong'#so theyre saying like. we were given /some/ of the knowledge of good and evil‚ but that that in and of itself didnt /actually/ bring us up #to gods understanding of it #idk its been a while since i reread the bible‚ i do kinda remember there being a second tree? but i dont think it was like #'tree of full onniscience' i thought it was the tree of eternal life or smth #or maybe im just mixing up the bible and the narnia remix of it? i know there is a tree of eternal life in the magicians apprentice #origibberish
