Stuff I dislike in the Be More Chill fandom

(This is gonna be a long rant so yeah lmao)

1: Squipemy / Technical Difficulties is a horrible ship, you shouldn't ship it, and it is a PROSHIP.

The amount of people I see excusing it by saying that "the SQUIP is a computer he doesn't have an age!!" "The SQUIP isn't actually Keanu Reeves / Keanu Reeves' age he just looks like him!!" Is just gross

The SQUIP looks like an adult, speaks like an adult, and acts like an ADULT. Shipping him with a teenager is just so disgusting and seeing people ship them and giving lousy excuses makes me want to vomit

Squipemy shippers DNI block me you shouldn’t be allowed in the fandom

2: For the love of god can people PLEASE stop whitewashing Michael in fanart there so much art of him pale white and nobody talks about it!! The day that people stop whitewashing Michael is the day I can rest peacefully

3: Can the BMC fandom stop villainizing Jeremy please please please oh my god. Especially when it comes to that scene right before Michael in the Bathroom and the optic nerve blocking stuff

At the end of Upgrade / Loser Geek Whatever (depending on which production), Jeremy had already gone through tons of manipulation from the SQUIP, which heavily impacted his decisions, which weren’t really of his own volition anymore

Right before the dialogue before Michael in the Bathroom, Jeremy was assaulted (at least almost) by Chloe, causing him to run to the bathroom to avoid confrontation with Jake. During the dialogue with Michael, you can see that Jeremy’s honestly happy to see him, showing once again that he really didn’t want to leave Michael, but the SQUIP made him. However, Michael immediately goes into his dialogue talking about how bad the SQUIP is, and just generally bringing down the tone, making Jeremy increasingly upset, due to this plus what had happened right before this, eventually leading him to ditch Michael again and call him a loser.

TLDR; Can the fandom (especially the Michael defenders) PLEASE try to understand what Jeremy goes through during the musical and understand his actions are not from a place of malice

4: (this is the last take) Can people please stop infantilizing BMC characters

(specifically Jeremy, Michael, Rich, and Christine (Christine and Michael the most))

I know they are still minors, but they are 16-17 years old, there’s no need to act like they would have the maturity level of middle schoolers

Especially when people are like “[Insert character name here] shouldn’t curse!! They’re too innocent!!” And then it’s a character who’s either a late adolescent or a full grown adult

(I’ve seen that said about Christine mostly, which I get she never curses in the musical, but come on she still is 16 she can curse it’s not the end of the world)

5. What’s a fic idea you’ve had that you will never write?

Okay. There's a few:

The one I've been sitting on the longest is one I called Be More Enhanced. It was inspired by a piece of fanart by maegimaki (I think) back in the day. I can't be bothered trying to find it rn but it was of Jake, Jeremy, and Rich but parts of their bodies that were affected by the squip were shaded in bright blue tv static (Jake's legs, Rich's burn scars, Jeremy's eyes). It gave me the idea for a fic of, like, essentially lab-made superheroes except they never reached superhero stage. Jake, Jeremy, and Rich had been in the lab for as long as they could remember. The second attempt at The Enhancement Project. Jeremy had enhanced intelligence and senses, Jake had enhanced strength/speed/durability, Rich could alter his appearance and physical form (enough to pass through walls). They eventually escape and end up on the doorstep of Michael Mell and his friends (the bmc girls), the failed and escaped first attempt of The Enhancement Project.

The other ideas arent necessarily things I won't write, I just might not get around to them. Those would be the popular kids polycule royalty au and The Poet's Garden. I love The Poet's Garden au so much, I just don't know what to do with it yet but I would love to talk about it

18. What’s one of your favorite lines you’ve written in a fic?

I love the entirety of the royal pains pantone fic.

There are so many lines I like but the first one to come to mind is Jake's Pinkberry pizza metaphor

Okay, here's a bit from be more enhanced

Christine walked out of the room and stood in the doorway of the kitchen, watching Brooke and Michael have a very animated conversation with each other. She wasn’t sure what either of them were saying, but it seemed more like an argument. She turned around when she heard a groan coming from the stairs.

“God, turn you’re voices down. I can hear you two arguing from upstairs,” Chloe groaned, joining Christine in the doorway.

“Michael’s voice is gone again…” Christine mumbled.

Brooke and Michael had stopped arguing. Michael huffed, leaning against the bench. Brooke sighed.

“Michael isn’t sure if we should keep them here for too long.”

“Keep who?” Chloe asked.

“Three boys turned up on our doorstep. They’re like us,” Christine said. “Jake seems to be the leader of the three. He did all the talking. Strong protective energy coming from him. Jeremy’s is very weak, scared… Michael- they need to stay here.”

‘But what if they were sent to find us. We still haven’t been able to get rid of all their tech from us. Or to fix whatever they took from us.’ Michael said.

“They’re kids, Michael!” Brooke hissed. “They’re kids… Who knows how long Squip had them for, what they did to them.”

“They’re broken…” Christine said softly, looking back towards the doorway.

Michael sighed and shook his head. Brooke hit the back of his head. She seemed to be scolding him.

Chloe sighed, frowning at the two.

“Stop arguing like little children. We’re keeping them here. We can call Jenna tomorrow and she can fix your voice again and whatever damage Squip did to the kids.”

“You’re like us?” A voice said from behind them. Christine and Chloe turned around and Michael and Brooke looked at the doorway to see Jake standing there.

Chloe raised an eyebrow and walked over to him. “One of the kids, huh?” She said, circling him. Jake bit his lip as she watched the girl, tensing up when she touched him.

Christine bit her lip. “Chloe…”

Chloe ignored her, although she sighed and looked at Brooke.

Brooke glared at her. Chloe huffed.

Okay so ✨Hamilton fanficion✨

Back in 2018 I was a big Hamilton (and other musicals like BMC, DEH, Heathers) fan, and I'm talking like a having amino (and a semi decent following on it), drawing silly fanart of the characters in maid suits, reading fanfiction fan

And sometimes I just go by my day and I randomly remember something from a Hamilton fanfiction that makes me stop in my tracks

And so, I decided to come onto here and provide a list of things I remember, that I want to forget, and am afraid that I'll forget at the same time, about Hamilton fanficion

(this being said, if you're still a hamilton fanfiction writer, you do you, this post does not mean to offend you)

I think like 80% of the fics if not more were college AU fics, and 15% were just different AUs but I don't think I've actually read a fic that wasn't a random one-shot taking place in canon timeline (I do believe it was because all of the hamilton ff writers just like me were 16 back then, and just simply did not know how to write historical fiction)

Most of the fics were LAMS (which is Alexander Hamilton x John Laurens) and it was practically canon in fandom eyes, and before anyone says anything, I've seen the letters, of course I've seen them but guyz, I think we were just a little bit delulu with how firmly we believed this (and I'm including myself in this!)

Still on shipping, the second most popular one was Jamilton (Thomas Jefferson x Alexander Hamilton) and I'm gonna be honest, this was my shit, I enjoyed this dynamic a lot more (I always found friends to lovers a bit boring), but man, were the ship wars brutal, I remember when amino mods tried to actually do some sort of a debate lams vs jamilton in which there were actual teams that wrote whole essays about which ship is more valid, but they ended up insulting each other after maybe two rounds

The last ship with its own point is Hamburr (Alexander Hamilton x Aaron Burr), I've always perceived this one as a cool kids ship, I think people who shipped this were the most chill about it

Background ships included Mulette (Muligan x Lafayette), which was one of those ships that were always in the background some sort of "if you don't ship this as your side ship i don't trust you" kind of ship, the same goes to Jeffmads (Jefferson x Madison) in lams fics, and in a lesser degree, and i don't remember its name, Eliza Schuler x Maria Lewis Reynolds (if you don't remember her from her name, is the woman Hamilton cheats on Eliza with), which is always fun, we love seeing some wlw

And now, the random facts that were just headcanons that people very often included, Jefferson and Lafayette were almost always in some sort related (especially in Jamilton fics) and that's because of the double cast, but I don't really think the same was true for any other character it was just them

Hamilton was always a caffeine addict with a bad sleep schedule who was way too engaged in whatever topic the fic made him and I remember one fic (it was a college au, of course) where the whole point was that it was actively ruining his relationships around him (it was a hamburr fic)

John Laurens loved turtles bc of some historical letters in which he mentioned he liked turtles and fandom did its thing and you couldn't read a lams fic where turtles weren't mentioned at least once

Charles Lee and Samuel Seabury were always minor villains/mean college students and the latter was sometimes in a weird unhealthy relationship with (king) George

There was no Eliza slander! I know it's a weird point, but now seeing how fandoms like spn or 911 reacted to female love interest I’m actually suprised there wasn't any, she was always just a good friend (or, in one Soulmate AU I think it was Jamilton, Eliza had Hamilton's name on her wrist but he didn't have hers and that was just brutal)

There was this fic that I won't mention by its whole name (it's off the internet anyway, I don't think the author wants to be reminded of it nor associated with it), that was a hanahaki AU Jamilton that nearing the end of its run had 300k+ words; it was about Alex having a mean spirited rivalry with Jefferson at their corpo lawyer job but hearing he has hanahaki so deciding he wants to be nice to him now, but little does he know that the hanahaki in question is *for* him and later he himself develops hanahaki for Jefferson and they even live together at one point so they have this situation where both of them are willing to die in order to keep the other one happy and cure them by being their rebounds but they actively making each other worse, it's probably not as good as I remember it to be but godDAMN was it a cult classic it really was one of the kind, ALSO a girl on a plane asked me what fic I was reading bc she was peeking over my shoulder because it looked good and it's just one of the interactions I will *never* forget

This fandom was also my first impression of A/B/O dynamic and it wasn't a good one, one of the fics with it that I remember was Jamilton, in which Hamilton was some sort of Omega activist (there was a scene where he was annoyed that romantic comedies in universe pushed the agenda of omega leaving their omegaxomega relationship for an alpha when oxo can be fully normally sufficient) and Jefferson was an alpha and there was a scene at a diner where Jefferson was spreading his pheromones so the other alphas would stop looking at Hamilton? yeah thanks, no thanks

Washington was 95% of the time Hamilton's father in one way or another but what did you expect, in one fic he was even Hamilton's mother soulmate but she died before he met her which I didn't know was possible in soulmates aus

I read one Jamilton fic on wattpad (even then I rarely used wattpad) that I think was (a college au) about how madison and jefferson were in abusive relationship and hamilton "rescued" jefferson out of it? (it feaured a truly iconic quote in a scene that i still remember where jefferson was having a panic attack in the dorm's bathroom and madison didn't want hamilton to think he was an abuser so he said something along the lines of "Don't listen to this whore" and Hamilton responded "I won't listen to a whore" and Jefferson was like no he also hates me no one loves me and then Hamilton added "But Thomas isn't a whore." and I kid you not, I think about this scene every time I see that stupid "do you think im pretty?" "no." ":(" "you're beautiful" meme) and my art was featured in one of the chapters! it wasn't a good art, but it was one of my biggest achievements back then (I drew the most art during my hamilton phase, I wish I kept that passion for drawing in the years to come)

And... I think that's all that I can think of off top of my head

Despite many peoples' opinion now, I don't think the fandom was wrong in how they perceived the source material, any who was in the fandom at that time can tell you that sometimes it felt like it's own entity, those were our characters and what they did in the musical and the historical context didn't really matter in the long run, besides some limited posts about lams or just funfacts about the real lives of the characters (i have so many funfacts about inaccuracies in hamilton stored in my head), just what the dynamic between them was

But, as have many, I grew out of hamilton fanfiction, it shaped how I moved around fanfiction and fandom spaces for years and no matter how much "cringe" that fandom was (and it was cringe in every way possible) I probably won't forget the fun parts (for example how I joined judges guild on amino that was supposed to host contests regularly and then we did one contest and 90% of the members stopped responding so I pretty much single-handedly picked the winners when we had like I think about 20-30 entries? contests were a big deal on amino) and I won't regret it, I think it was one of the if not best then funniest places to be on the Internet in 2018

I have recently rewatched Hamilton now that it is available on streaming and one) I found out that I didn't really know all the lyrics and certainly not what some parts mean (english as you probably already have noticed is not my first language) and two) I actually found myself thinking, man, i would like to read some good fanfiction about this, but not a single one Hamilton fanfiction on ao3 can be separated from how the fandom perceived the characters and that's okay, it's just the way it is

If you truly want to know the grasp of what was normal or not in this fandom, let me tell you this: I saw Jefferson Miku Binder before it was a meme, and it really wasn't that weird, I was seeing art and headcanons like these on the regular, that just how the fandom looked like

1. The character everyone gets wrong

Okay, see, I know people have different ideas and opinions and headcannons, but OH. MY. GOSH. DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED.

The MCYT fandom makes me want to scream half the time. I'm gonna say it. Everyone gets BadBoyHalo wrong. Skeppy, Tommyinnit, JSchlatt, Stressmonster, Niki, and a bunch more, too. Half the time I want to explode in this fandom, so I stick with fanart, unless it's flower husbands. Because most FH shippers can read the characters well.

Musical theatre. People always (well, okay, not *always*) get Heather McNamara wrong when acting. I've seen so many awful versions. And Jenna Rolan from Be More Chill, especially when writing fanfic. Though, lemme tell you, all the characters in Be Less Single (BMC dating sim fan game) were spot on. Perfect, I tell you.

2. Compelling argument why my fave would never top or bottom

8. Common fandom opinion everyone is wrong about

I'm overthinking. This could either mean opinions ABOUT fandom or fandom discourse. I'm assuming the latter.

I dunno man. I don't pay attention much to other people's opinions. I mean, if they badmouth my blorbos, I will have a compelling argument why the are the best being to exist. Headcannon-wise? I mean, okay, I really don't want this taken the wrong way *at all*. But I don't like it when people include [insert character] is trans/queer/pronouns/mental disability if it doesnt have anything to do with the fafic/story that's being told. I understand if you project or write a vent fic or whatever, because those are things to get out of your brain, or if you headcannon this or that, I get it. But if it has no relevance at all to the story, *if it isn't even mentioned*, DONT PUT IT IN THE GODDAMN TAGS.

It's not really a heated opinion, but I needed that out there.

I don't really like to shit on other people's headcannons. But if the opinion is "glup shitto is a bad character", OR FUKIGN WHATEVER THE FUCK THE MCYT SPACE DID TO NIKI, then I will fight you.

WAIT WAIT DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON TOMMYINNIT X HERMITCRAFT. OR TOMMYINNIT X EMPIRES. UGH. I HATE IT SO MUCH.

12. The unpopular character I like and everyone else hates

Okay. Listen. Purpled. Barely anyone paid attention to that guy because he wasn't a "main character" (there were none in the DSMP, people.) And everyone doesn't like his character after what he did to Slime. But I feel like he's a super deep character that gets overlooked. Quackity literally blew up his house and forced him to go live in Las Nevadas. Quackity also took a lot more from him, too. And when he killed/kidnapped Slime, he was projecting and let all of his grief out on the thing that Quackity cared about, since everything Purpled loved was taken from him.

17. There should be more of this type of fic/art

Okay okay okay. But like, guys. Coffee shop au's. It's simple, right? It's one of the most well known. BUT JESUS, BMC FANDOM, THERE ARE LIKE 5 TOTAL ON AO3. SOULMATE ONES, TOO.

Speaking of soulmates, the Hermitcraft/Life series doesn't have that many non-canon function ones. Like, I want to see timers. Or strings. Or the characters see color for the first time. Or the place their soulmate touches them first changes colors. There's not many.

18. It's absolutely criminal the fandom has been sleeping on...

The MCYT fandom has been sleeping on a bunch of damned bricks, don't even get me started.

There's too much to put for the MCYT fandom.

The BMC fandom has been sleeping on the wholeass line of "If Christine likes me in the end, will I be able to pretend I didn't fail my one real friend?" And all of the hidden stuff in the music. Like how in the broadway version, in The Play, the backtrack plays LGW when Jeremy gives Christine the Mtn Dew Red.

19. I'm mad/ashamed/horrified that I like...

I'm not answering this one. I apologize, but these heinous words do not need to be said to the entire world.

22. The favorite part of Canon everyone ignores

MCYT: everyone ignores smaller creators and literally the entire Canon. So all of it.

BMC: okay, listen, the silver hair the squip has is an absolute banger, okay??? And let's talk about that entire couch scene where Christine rejects Jeremy.

23. The ship I'm unwillingly coming around to

Majorwood. Kill me. I hate it so much omg but like, it slaps.

25. Annoying common fandom complaint

Uh, guys, it's okay to like the Era when ranboo and tubbo were friends. It's not taboo. I still go back and watch vods.

Sorry that one genuinely pisses me off whenever I see people like, "I wish that never happened". Like, guys, don't ignore important parts of what got ranboo to who he is and where he is today. Educate the young boobers. It's not wrong to like when two people are friends.

Then I hate it when people complain about shipping convex and are like "they're brothers!" No, they're not. That's your headcannon, not mine. Same with Grian and Jimmy. They aren't brothers. You can ship them if you want, just don't make it weird.

Oh man, it's been a hot minute since I've thought about Be More Chill so here goes!

Favorite Thing About Them: The first thing that comes to mind is that I find Jeremy super relatable. I never got to see the Two River production of BMC, but I did get to see it on Broadway and I shared a lot of anxieties with Jeremy. I also discovered BMC during a particularly rough time in my life and so being able to relate to a character so well while going through the motions helped a lot.

Least Favorite Thing About Them: Eh, nothing much, really. I guess I could do with a little less horny energy but Jeremy is a teenage boy so I kind of have to give him a pass.

Favorite Line: "Especially now, since I clearly see -- The problem has always been me!" (honestly, I just love the entirety of Loser Geek Whatever and I'm so glad they added it to the show)

brOTP: I think I have to go for the obvious one of Jeremy and Michael (although I do enjoy them as a ship, too).

OTP: I'm a huge sucker for Jeremy/SQUIP.

nOTP: None, really? I've seen good content for him with most characters in the show.

Random Headcanon: I think I've said this in the past, but I love the idea that Jeremy retained some Japanese even after the SQUIP shut off and he sometimes just switches to it without really realizing.

Unpopular Opinion: I have yet to read the BMC book (although I do own it), but I know that the dynamic between book Jeremy and book SQUIP is very different than musical Jeremy and musical SQUIP, and that book SQUIP is a bit softer than musical SQUIP. However, I do think that the SQUIP, even in the musical, did have Jeremy's best interests at heart and just went overboard without really understanding that it was doing such, and I think to some degree Jeremy knew that and losing the SQUIP did upset him in a way.

Song I Associate With Them: There are many, including those from the musical, but a few are "Voices" by Groundbreaking, "Lead Sails (And A Paper Anchor)" by Atreyu, and "Zero" by Imagine Dragons.

Favorite Picture of Them: I have many pieces of BMC fanart saved on my phone, but in terms of actual pictures, I love this one of Scott Folan from the London production of BMC:

Question: How did you find the fandom? How long ago was it if you can remember?

Answer: Hmm I found the fandom I would say when Accepting Anxiety pt 1 came out! I watched Thomas’s stuff before but never actually saw myself “joining the fandom”, however later on when Intrusive thoughts came out I thought, “hey,, do people really do fan art for this series?” And so I did! Little did I know a lot of people were in this fandom, and that’s kinda how it all started! 😂

Question: Whos your favourite side? (if you have one of course lol)

Answer: Honestly my favorite side changes all the time 😅 so right know I’d say Roman! He’s really fun to draw with his outfit, plus he’s really enthusiastic and sassy so I love him! But I know probably deep down Virgil is my favorite sides,, I relate more to him on certain levels so I think he might be my favorite side overall! If that makes sense 😂✨

Question: Whats your favourite ship?

Answer: I’m pretty simple,, so I’ve gotta go with the og’s of Prinxiety and Logicality! I do enjoy some good moceit though!

Question: What made you want to do fanart for sandersides? What usually inspires you when you are drawing?

Answer: I think the thing that truly made me want to start doing fanart was Virgils line in Intrusive Thoughts when he said he used to be a dark side. That scene really sparked a lot of inspiration in me and really gave me the over all motivation to do my first piece of fanart for the fandom! Inspiration wise, i'd say I get a lot of my inspirations from my friends over on Instagram and on here! Seeing other peoples art really gives me a lot of inspiration, along with things in my daily life.

Questions: Do you have any other fandoms you relate to the sides?

Answer: Hmm i'd say I have couple! Some being musicals like BMC or BeetleJuice or movie based like the marvel universe anything I can throw the sides into! Besides those little examples most of my Aus are non-fandom based.

It seems like back when Will Roland was only known for Jared people were way more proWill because he could be their funny meme boi who ate bathbombs but now that he's a lead with all these emotional songs it's like God forbid he's not their "twink bby". Idk it annoys me so much especially when people draw the rest of the Broadway cast and still use WillC or do an animatic with WillRs voice and WillCs character ugh like. Accept the Roland pls

really like, i have never come across any signs of there having been any pattern in the deh fandom of ~taking issue~ with will’s Abilities to sing or play the part of a struggling teen or whatever like what crops up re: him being the lead in bmc.....it also is unsurprising yet disappointing that like, jared and alana are so easily completely ignored, but when they Are acknowledged it’s super flattened interpretations like, either they’re both hypocritical jerks (just based on evan’s gfy accusations basically lol) or if they’re actually viewed in a positive way it’s just like, alana is your friendly local Model Student and jared is memes and neither of them are in the way! :3

you litrally cannot ignore jeremy the Whole Entire Main Character tho and also like. can’t ignore the fact that caring about jeremy as a Romantique Lead is ahhh important to many ppl in the fanbase? so him being regarded as ~less cute~ is more of an Issue b/c the character must be taken seriously and is the sympathetic hero and has a lot more solo material / more of Any material / more focus than jared does in deh.........you Have To Look At Him and care about his actual feelings and not just misinterpret the character as “has no serious emotions b/c he doesn’t say serious things in a serious tone” the way ppl misinterpret jared. there’s the assumption that someone who is good / sympathetic should also be attractive / cute / Personally Appealing To Look At and that wasn’t as much a conflict when ppl didn’t think it was important to sympathize / care about / pay attention to jared too much, and the “conflict” of caring abt jeremy’s capacity for a romantic relationship but that’s less important if he’s not as Cute also not being as much an issue when most people don’t care about jared’s romantic feelings or think that they exist despite jared being in love with evan But Anyways

like it is wild the things people will just make up to “justify” their Dislike for will, which has only manifested as apparent Issues thanks to him playing jeremy rather than jared........there’s the classic “mm idk i don’t think he can sing that well” approach which like. some people are just trying to say they do not like the inherent descriptive qualities of his voice, which is more nasal obviously and don’t anyone come in here with the “Actually the Technical definition of Nasal re Vocals is” b/c we know what i mean, alright? nasal voices are not considered ~serious~ and there’s the kneejerk dumb-annoying-loser-nerd association. god knows that jeremy heere canNot have characteristics that could be automatically judged as irritating and unappealing. then there’s the notion that He doesn’t have the (vocal) range!! which like. do you honestly think they would cast someone who doesn’t have the correct range. you’re aware that will roland was being considered for the part of jeremy in the two river run up to the last round of callbacks. you know that the song that was literally written expressly to suit will roland’s individual voice and singing abilities makes use of his falsetto which people go “omg he can’t hit those high notes” except sometimes when they misattribute his falsetto to other singers they suddenly find it worth complimenting. and then you get people who like, want to subscribe to this softened version of it and get all backhanded like “oh i think will’s vocals are improving whew that’s good” in any random video and always Only single him out apparently like. did you think he gets worse with experience? you don’t wanna talk about any of these other professional singers improving or worsening or anything? only wanna give ur assessment of william’s huh

honestly i for real haven’t seen the 1.0 version b/c i’m here via will roland in the first place & i’ve never gotten the impression that there’s some Essential Content i’m missing out on by having only seen 2.0........but between a) people complaining that will r’s jeremy is Too Frustrated He Shouldn’t Be That Angry It Makes Him Less Sympathetic and b) saying just as a point of comparison betwixt the depictions that will r’s jeremy is more frustrated and c) i haven’t read That much bmc fic but people sure talk about jeremy being like five seconds away from bursting into tears at any given moment which like, okay yeah aren’t we all, but also i presume this stems from will c’s apparently Sadder portrayal of jeremy. i almost forgot where i was going with this one but i think it’s just that yeah people truly take issue with will r’s jeremy being more frustrated and it’s like you realize there’s no Right or Wrong portrayal / interpretation even if you prefer one for whatever reasons......theatre just is Like that.......you have a slightly different portrayal during ever performance even from the same actors, and you’ll often have different actors playing the role........yeah people usually are attached to the first performance they see / have that as their Standard and that’s fine, it’s just like, you don’t have to decide that’s an Objective view and that you have Objective issues with everyone else’s take. 1.0 is still there for you

uhhhh oh yeah and the whole Clout idea lmao......people really putting themselves out there shaking their heads at the supposed fact that will was cast for the off bway run to Boost Popularity b/c he was part of the deh obc......besides the whole thing that it’s hardly likely that would’ve been considered necessary anyhow, there’s the little thing that a) again, will roland had already been very seriously considered for the part even before will connolly was decided on for the original run and b) like.....these people had been collaborating for eons and you really think will roland only popped into their minds thanks to being in deh....and c) joe iconis has repeatedly said they specifically did Not want to cast people based on who was Known enough and whose names would be good for marketing and d) maybe anyone has noticed that the marketing never involved any mention of anyone in the cast? no? cool. and yet people like so truly think they’re Wise to ~real reason~ that they’d go and cast will roland as the lead. like people are making shit up and really just thinking it’s true b/c they Want it to be true b/c they Want to be validated in having actual contempt for will’s casting despite the “issue” being that he doesn’t seem as Likeable (worthy of sympathy...cough...) thanks to his deemed-unattractive looks and sweetly-adenoidal voice and more-frustrated portrayal all seeming less cute or whatever

and i mean i haven’t seen it crop up of late but the one particular Grasping At Straws ~justification~ for will being unworthy of the part thanks to perceived acting/singing incompetence which is soooo wild is when people are like “ough i Hate when he just holds his arms out when he sings” like fmslkdj if anything that’s just an individual quirk and the fact that it was something you noticed means you just latched on to it as potential fodder for “the fact i registered this information abt someone whose existence i Resent means it distracted me which means i hate it and it’s bad”...like another thing he does with his hands while singing is when he makes the loose claws and kind of half crosses his arms in front of his chest! where are the complaints about that?? nowhere, b/c people have not really processed it as a particular thing, so they can’t deem it a Particular Thing To Criticize. people sometimes Notice that his jared talks with his hands a lot, which will says is an acting choice that came from an unconscious tendency, but people really only bring it up to juxtapose will’s jared’s dramatic tendencies and nervous habits with sky’s jared’s more outwardly still and smoothed-over behavior. aka they don’t Complain about it or deem it a weakness / bad thing. and yet people caring about bmc are really jumping on that chance to be like oh ugh there he goes again, having a characteristic i associate with him as an individual, disgusting, can’t believe will connolly was murdered for this..

it’s a bit clearer too with bmc moreso than deh that people aren’t super willing to accept how will roland Looks b/c like, thanks to will connolly’s jeremy having the long hair thing you can Tell The Difference In Which Actor Is Represented when ppl draw the character even if the rest of the features are kind of “generic” (and how even the costuming isn’t a dead giveaway since ppl will draw connolly jeremy in 2.0/3.0′s outfits) and it even serves to specify the actor in writing format too if they mention the hair lol........and honestly?? this fact is one of the most damning things lol in that people the reason so many ppl continue to produce connolly-based jeremys is Not because for whatever reason they can’t / it’s too difficult to draw a will roland lookin jeremy......like a lot of the time The trait which serves to distinguish between the two is the hair thing. people are adopting jeremy’s new costuming and stuff but choosing to make sure we know that jeremy does not Look like will roland and the clearest indicator of this is the longer hair thing......which also means that for many people the main effort they’d need to exert to make it clear they’re drawing wrol jeremy would just be to....shorten the hair. And Yet!!!! it is apparently beyond people to do this

like uh nice on making a lgw animatic but really.........really we’re gonna take the song that is specifically from the 2.0 / 3.0 runs, so it’s obvious we’re Accepting that non-1.0 content, okay......and we’re Accepting will roland’s vocals, which, a person’s voice is a physical trait of theirs too, same as The Existence Of Their Body........and yet jeremy Cannot Look Like How Will Roland Looks, that’s too far, can’t do that. we can take material from the specific versions the actor was cast in, that material being a song written specifically for this individual actor’s voice, in the form of this actor’s actual vocals......but can’t have the depicted image of jeremy be based on this actor’s appearance..............of all the......

really all that it is is that more people find will connolly more attractive than will roland and this makes them feel like will roland Is Worse and then the people who just run with that either just embrace that and are crashing around on public forums saying Lol i hate him cuz he’s ugly lmao....and then you have people who don’t wanna do that but don’t wanna actually examine why they ~take issue~ with will being cast and so they’ve gotta leap on any Other things about him that feel more acceptable / Objective like oh the portrayal is “Wrong” (that’s not how this works) or he can’t sing well enough (yeah he can) or high enough (yeah he can) or he was stunt cast (no he wasn’t) or they wanna label every characteristic / trait they can think up that Isn’t his physical appearance as Annoying And Bad like. maybe stop and ask why you find it SO pressing that this other actor has the part and it Must be objectively inferior if not ruinous for reasons you gotta invent about him being incompetent cuz it’s better to make stuff up about how a professional actor isn’t good enough for a part than to say you don’t think he’s cute enough and are bothered by that

it didn’t matter as much to people when they viewed his character as either Just A Joke or Just A Jerk or flat-out disposable material. being attractive is for serious sympathetic beloved characters, natch

unfortunately jeremy can’t be written off as The Unimportant Meme Friend With No Real Feelings so now there’s a whole problem if an actor is not as cute

like b/c of the way he looks ppl can accept that a character played by will roland can be funny or can be rude or can really not be too important to take seriously / consider complex or sympathetic or likeable beyond being a walking Running Joke, but when it comes to a sympathetic main character whose emotional state is so important it’s practically assigned a character and who’s a romantic lead? now people have a problem with him looking the way will roland does

Theres a difference between canon and fanon. I’m going to use Dear Evan Hansen as an example.

Canon: Most of the people aren’t very good people, in the end, half of the character don’t like or hate Evan, and Connor is dead.

Fanon: The characters have flaws, but are somewhat overlooked for self-indulgence. Everyone seems to forgive Evan, and in half of them, Connor is alive. Some mental illnesses are exaggerated or don’t have enough recognition.

What I’m trying to say is, the fanon is usually happier than canon.

I’m not saying it’s wrong, as I myself have fallen into the fanon as well, but as long as we at least recognize what canon really is, and don’t completely combine it with canon, it’s fine.

Something else I’ve noticed in fandoms (still using Deh) is that some character traits are somewhat altered. Like in fanfiction where Zoe, Connor, Alana, Jared and Evan are all friends doing friend stuff, Evan’s bad anxiety doesn’t show up as much, and how Connor becomes, for lack of a better word, less violent. I mean, I’m fine with it, but I personally would like to see Evan slowly come out of his shell, and Connor and Zoe trying to mend their relationship.

Now, ships. One of the most popular ships in Deh is Tree Bros, and its one of my favorites too. People say it can’t happen because Connor is dead, but that’s what AU’s are for. In my opinion, Zoelana (is that how you spell it? Idk) is kinda just putting the two girls together and they love eachother without much lore to support the ship. I have nothing against Zoelana, I myself ship them, but it seems to be somewhat common in the fanbases. For example, Mila and Sala from Yuri on Ice. These two are from an anime with little female characters, and they seem to be put together mainly because they happen to interact and the fandom says “LOOK, NEW LESBIAN SHIP”. Once again, not against it, just something I noticed for fandoms.

Another thing fandoms tend to do (me inculded) is to push way the canon straight ships, like Evan and Zoe (Deh) and Jermey and Christine (Bmc) for Connor and Evan and Michael and Jermey. In Hamilton, Alex and Eliza are overshadowed by Alex and Laurens. Lams was an actuall thing that happened in history, but the canon ship is still set aside. This is somewhat true for the Overwatch fandom, as it is hinted that Genji and Mercy may have some sort of romantic relationship, but from what I’ve seen, the two being with someone of the same gender has been more popular, like Genji and Zenyatta and Mercy and Pharah.

Also, there’s always a character that seems to be the favorite of the fandom. Especially in ship fics, for example, Victor and Yuuri from Yuri on Ice. It’s typically Yuuri who is the one who needs help, and Victor is the one saving him. The two Yu(u)ris of the fandom seem to be the favorites. In Overwatch, because of the now 30+ characters, there are multiple favorites, like D.Va, McCree, Reaper, etc. Others are kinda just there, adding little to the plot of the fanfic. In fanart, they may be drawing all the former Overwatch members, but forget Genji. They may brush it off, saying “He was in Blackwatch, it doesn’t count” but Genji was apart of Overwatch. In similar fashion, people seem to forget Mei was apart of Overwatch as well. Back to Deh, alot of the Kleinsen and Tree Bros fanfiction is centered around Jared or Connor, rather than Evan. Not saying this is bad thing, its just another example of fandom favorites. Like how Michael seems the be the favorite of Bmc.

Ryan said that as a member of the community himself he’s so glad that this exists for people and that it’s always so amazing to meet young people at the stage door saying thank you to Michael for representing who we are.

George told a story about how a couple of weeks previously, his dad had called him, crying (”Dad what’s wrong who’s dead?!”), because when George was younger he was originally studying to be a doctor, and his parents were like “but! Doctor!!” when he switched to acting, He said when he told them he wanted to switch he said that he wanted to help people in that way, to give them an escape for an hour or two, etc. and his dad was kind of like “...but as a doctor you would help people! You would literally be saving lives!!” George said that they didn’t fully understand, but that at that time a couple of weeks ago his dad went through a box George had sent to his mom for her fanart scrapbook project or something: the box was full of a whole bunch of fanart and letters from young people who had written thanking George because they had been going through a really hard time and some of them were suicidal, and then they found BMC and it saved them, and then his dad called him up because he hadn’t understood before how important this was.

BMC Pokemon Teams

OKAY! This took longer than it should have but these guys were surprisingly harder to think of stuff for...maybe cause I haven’t listened to BMC in forever. Anyway, here’s what I have for everyone’s teams, feel free to make suggestions if you think a certain Pokemon absolutely MUST belong with someone.

(Also I’m just doing the Squip-Squad as of right now. I’ll see if I wanna make teams for Mr. Heere and Mr. Reyes later on)

Jeremy - Minun: This is mostly due to color scheme, a parallel with Michael, and because of a fanart I saw a long time ago and can’t find now for some reason. So yeah, Plusle and Minun are basically the BFF Pokemon duo, so of course Jeremy needs one of these while Michael gets the other.

Pikachu (Squip): Mostly because Jeremy’s the main character and Pikachu has practically become the main character of its own franchise, sooooo. Also, in this AU, Pokemon Squips aren’t as bad as the ones in the musical, meaning they aren’t abusive or degrading as much. At the end of the day, they’re still Pokemon, capable of forming bonds with their owners. So yeah, Jeremy and his Squip end up hating one another at first, but maybe after some life-or-death situations that seem to come with Pokemon (at least according to the anime), I think they would become pretty good buddies.

Mudkip/Swampert: Out of all the starters, the Mudkip line was the only one to me that seemed close to Jeremy. It looks all dorky and lame, and as it grows it doesn’t seem much better, but then it becomes a powerhouse (Insert metaphor for Jeremy’s growth here). 

Eevee/Vaporeon: Gonna say this now, but EVERYONE in the Squip Squad is getting an Eeveelution. There are eight evolutions, the squad has eight members, so it was too perfect to NOT pass up. And it’s also symbolic of how they’re all connected after the whole Squip fiasco. But anyway, Jeremy gets Vaporeon, mostly for its ability to blend into the water. Jeremy is ‘the one who’s left out’, meaning he probably feels invisible compared to everyone else. 

Dunsparce: Part of the problem with deciding Jeremy’s team was just how...plain he was. So I tapped into that after racking my brain for Pokemon for him, and settled on the most basic and semi-sad Pokemon I could find. Jeremy would sympathize with this thing, let’s be real. Also, if Dunsparce gets scared, it drills a hole to escape; sound familiar? [Christine: Did you say something? Jeremy: I...uh...*books it*]

Exeggcute/Exeggutor (Alolan Form): Mostly because, I wanted Jeremy to have at least ONE tall Pokemon to reference the ‘Tall-ass’ insult XD I wanted to find a Pokemon that kinda represented that he’s Jewish but that failed miserably (Chandelure was the closest kinda representing a menorah, but it eats souls, and I didn’t want that representing a holiday if you know what ‘m saying)

Michael - Plusle: Not much to say that was already said above. It’s part of the Two Player thing Jeremy and Michael have going. Can’t have one without the other.

Rotom: Michael has a bit of a tech theme going with him, so Rotom was a pretty good choice for him. I don’t give people legendaries, but honestly, there are more than one Rotom in the world, so it’s not exactly legendary (it’s semi-legendary). Also, I feel like Michael would let his Rotom possess his gaming system to see what kind of stuff would happen in the game, and maybe possess his other stuff to help with chores. (Plus, Rotom Wash is pretty OP)

Porygon/Porygon Z: Another one for Michael’s tech side, but this time a bit more prominent. The Porygon line is known for being able to travel through cyberspace and actual space. I think Michael would love that honestly. And it could serve as a way for Michael to find out about Squips. Sending his Pokemon out to search all of cyberspace for some kind of answer. 

Tepig/Emboar: I just realize that Jeremy and Michael’s starters match their color scheme too XD. Anyway, Emboar was a good choice because it’s loyal to its friends and is a capable fighter, something that Michael I don’t think is very good at. Also I can just easily imagine Michael chilling with a cute little Tepig in his arms, can’t you? X3

Comfey: This one just wouldn’t leave my head. It’s a fav in Alola because of how relaxing it makes one feel and...I don’t know...I just think Michael would wear this guy while he’s getting stoned in his basement. Relaxation to the MAX.

Eevee/Leafeon: Doesn’t seem like it fits, but it actually does. Leafeon’s don’t like getting involved in disputes, representing Michael kind of being in his own little world and not dealing with the problems around him, and Leafeon’s are also loyal and WILL fight back if its friends are threatened. 

Christine - Mime Jr: This is probably the only Pokemon who is capable of being as quirky as Christine is, since it would mimic everything she does. It’s actually fitting for an actress like her; maybe she uses her Mime Jr to remember her past performances so she can observe them and see if she can change anything to spice it up (OH! I just used knowledge from college theater lessons!! Woot!)

Caterpie/Butterfree: Butterfree is just the Pokemon you picture when you think of a cute but still pretty person. Christine is that person. Butterfree’s are just so pure and good, it’s just too perfect. Peas in a pod. That’s all I can say. 

Popplio/Primarina: No other starter is a performer sooooo yeah. Also, just looking at the Popplio line, they are all just so ridiculously happy all the time that I think Christine would get along with them AMAZINGLY well. Plus she doesn’t need to take voice lessons, she has an opera singer Pokemon!

Eevee/Sylveon: Out of all the Eeveelutions, this one fit Christine pretty well. It’s one of the few that evolve with friendship, and Sylveon is just naturally pleasant, like Christine is. Also I think it’d be cool if she had a shiny one, meaning it’s blue and white instead of pink and white. Kinda hammer in how special she is, you know?

Togedemaru (Squip): This was cute to think about, cause when it’s mad, it makes its spikes all go out at the same time, like ‘pop!’ It kinda reminds me of Christine when she has her ‘Blegh!’ moments. 

Drampa: I originally wanted to give this one to Jeremy cause of how nice it is, but then I read the Pokedex entry that if the one it likes is bullied, it will go to said bully’s house and burn it to the ground. If Jeremy had this thing, the whole school would probably go down as if J.D’s bombs actually went off XD

Rich - Elekid (Squip): This was one I could just picture, I think mostly thanks to the anime. Paul’s Elekid was a tiny little bully in the Sinnoh saga that could also pack a punch, so I could see Rich having the same one. I’m not sure if Squip Pokemon should be able to evolve or not since they’ve been altered quite a bit, but they’re still strong regardless. 

Rattata/Raticate (Kanto form): Kind of a jab at how small he is and also it kinda fits Rich’s whole aesthetic, you know? Plus, Raticate’s are fucking OP

Mankey/Primeape: I feel like Primeape represent Rich’s soul in every sense of the words. Tiny but has the capability of going ape-shit if something goes wrong. It’s perfect XD

Litten/Incineroar: Out of all the fire/fighting starters, this one fit Rich. At first I thought of Feraligatr, but then I found out from the Dex that Incineroar’s are selfish, violent, and love to fight. I don’t think we need anymore evidence for that. 

Eevee/Umbreon: It was a tie between this and Flareon but honestly...Umbreon fits a bit better. Mostly because the Dex says that when it’s threatened, it sprays poison from its fur. Maybe that’s what caused the fire to start?? Poor thing probably started freaking out when Rich started freaking out.  

Cottonee/Whimsicott: This one’s a long shot, but it hearkens back to Rich’s mischievous/bully side. It’s said that Whimsicott float on the wind and if they land on a person’s window, they enter the house, pull a few tricks and then leave. Also, Rich needs SOMETHING supper fluffy to cuddle when he’s all bandaged up in the hospital. 

Jake - Nidoran/Nidoking: This guy was one of the heaviest hitters back in the early days, and you could say it still is. With Jake being as popular as he is, this is kinda fitting that he has a Pokemon with King in its name.  

Charizard: Honestly, with how amazingly (and kinda unrealistically) cool Jake is, I think he would be expected to have one of the most popular starters of all time. However, he chose Charmander because he thought it was cool AND cute looking, not because everyone says Charizard is the best. They have a strong bond, those two. 

Electrike (Squip): This one, not just because it’s cool looking, matching Jake’s aesthetic, but also because it’s super fast. Eletrike’s muscles respond to electricity and it stimulates them to heighten reaction speed, so it would be good for a Sport Fanatic like Jake is. And I’m sure Jake’s squip would push him to be the same all-around athlete he was trying to be. 

Eevee/Flareon: It was one of the few ones left when I was assigning Eeveelutions to everyone so we gotta deal with it. But hey, Flareon does match with Jake’s kinda red color scheme. Plus he would probably use his Flareon as a guide to navigate his burning house when trying to get out. 

Starly/Staraptor: This one is more a reference to how lonely I think Jake actually is since his parents are gone. The Dex says that when Starly’s evolve into Staraptor, they leave the flock to live on their own. Jake is like that, only it happened early. 

Tyrunt/Tyrantrum: Another reference to the King of the School. According to the Dex, this thing was pretty entitled since nothing could stand in its way way back in prehistoric times. I like to think that Jake would train it to be a bit more humble and gentle though, cause Jake’s not just a mindless jock. 

Brook - Purrloin/Liepard: This is mostly to be a parallel to Chloe, only maybe without Purrloin’s whole devious side. Purrloin’s Pokedex says that it acts cute as a ruse and then attacks from there. That’s KINDA fitting though since Brook thought that Madeline’s deliberate pool loss to get Jake was awesome. Plus, despite already being pretty she seems to have that complex where ‘I must be cute no matter what!!’ So I think these two would get along pretty well and maybe teach one another a thing or two.

Torchic/Blaziken: Mostly because I feel like, when given the choice, Brook would choose the adorable little fire chick. Plus, Brook having a badass kung-fu fighting chicken is pretty awesome to think about X3

Stufful: I’m on the fence about it evolving, mostly because Bewear is fucking terrifying (ESPECIALLY after you read its Pokedex entry) and I think Brook would like to have a cute little stuffed animal Pokemon. Probably a good source of comfort after that whole fiasco at the Halloween Party. 

Pachirisu (Squip): Again, I think Brook would want one of the cute Squips, and Pachirisu IS cute. Plus it’s actually kinda fitting that a Pachirisu is a Squip cause the Pokedex states that they’re sometimes found sharing electricity through one another, like how Squips share information about social rules. 

Eevee/Glaceon: I mostly wanted to give Brook one of the pretty Eeveelutions mostly to help feed into Chloe’s secret jealousy of her. And I also like to think that her Glaceon is kinda protective of Brook, as it could easily use icicles to fuck someone up if they messed with her (watch out, Jeremy)

Petilil/Lilligant: This one is more of a symbol of Brook wanting to sleep with someone (at least it’s kinda implied in the musical; honestly, looking back, everyone wants to tap SOMETHING, whether stated or not. Glad my high school didn’t run on that hierarchy...) not only does Lilligant kinda look like Brook herself (at least to me) and one of its Dex entries states that when it finds a mate, the flower on its head will wither. I like to think of Brook as a pretty flower, and after the whole fiasco she learns that finding a BF isn’t all she needs to pursue in life. 

Chloe - Nidoran/Nidoqueen: This is a big parallel with Jake, since they dated before, and I THINK are back together when everything else is said and done. Unless something happened between ‘Halloween’ and ‘The Play’. But this is probably how they met; their Nidorans were naturally drawn to one another and bam! Oh, and also I guess there’s the whole Queen thing to Jake’s King, but eh, I ship RichJake, so whatever.

Meowth/Persian: I think we all share the headcanon that Chloe is pretty rich, and rich people tend to have the fancy cat Pokemon that has a move that can make money appear (Pay Day). 

Rowlet/Decidueye: This was a hard one but it was mostly for Rowlet’s second form, Dartrix. The thing is very picky and dandy, almost like a spoiled kid. I think Chloe would probably get along with it very well, being pampered by their riches and then having to leave it behind and actually make friends. I dunno; makes sense to me. 

Finneon/Lumineon: This one is more symbolic to Chloe being one of the prettiest girls in school. Lots of boys are drawn to her, which is something Lumineon does. It uses it’s bright lights to lure in prey, but has to be careful cause it can also lure in predators. Do with that what you will. 

Eevee/Jolteon: It’s not the pretty Eeveelution, but the Pokedex entry states that due to its spiky fur AND attitude, it’s hard to get close to. I think that represents how hard I think it would be in real like to get close to Chloe pre-musical, unless you become a follower like Brook. I don’t think Chloe’s the kind of person who would share her emotions easily. 

Emolga (Squip): This Squip fits her because Emolga are freaking greedy little bastards. They almost never share their food, so I think it would be a good parallel/reflection of Chloe and her being jealous and selfish during the story. Luckily, by the end, they both improve their attitudes greatly (and plus...Emolga’s and Pachirisu’s are compatible breeding partners...I’ll just leave that there)

Jenna - Chatot: If ‘gossip’ is part of your character, you’re pretty much guaranteed a Chatot on your team XD Jenna probably sends that thing around the school to relay stories; how else would she know about Jake and Madeline?

Fenniken/Delphox: At first I thought this fit Chloe or Brook’s overall aesthetic, but then I read the Pokedex entry saying that Delphox can use its Psychic powers to see into the future, which I could see as pretty perfect for Jenna. Also pretty helpful for when the fire rolled around. Rich and Jake were the only ones hurt, so maybe Jenna’s Delphox predicted it and she was able to get everyone out in time. Pretty cool food for thought. 

Glameow/Purugly: I don’t really know for this one. It just seemed fitting and I really don’t know why. But then again, Purugly’s are very fierce when they want to be, and I think Jenna can be too, if how she acted while Squipped is anything to go by. I think she can be pretty tough if she wants to be. 

Eevee/Espeon: Like Delphox, the whole sense the future thing, or in this case, predicting moves. ‘I know what everyone’s doing, ALL THE TIME!’ (Being a gossiper doesn’t always relate back to talking and mimicking X3)

Dedenne (Squip): Again for being one of the leads in smartphone hour, Dedenne are known for long distance communications with their whiskers. I know Jenna didn’t get Squipped until AFTER the fire, but imagine how fast the word would’ve spread if she had one before hand. 

Mimikyu: I’m sure there are some who think that Mimikyu is good for Jeremy as well, and I don’t disagree, but honestly, with the whole disguise thing, it fits Jenna too. She acts like she’s carefree most of the time, but in reality she’s actually really lonely. Remember how she came moping to Jeremy how no one cares about her problems despite her knowing about everyone else’s? I think Mimikyu is symbolic of her in more ways than one.

Haikyuu Uni Theatre AU P2

Here are more headcanons for my au (slight spoilers for Arsenic and Old Lace) and the outfit hc with Hinata and Kenma was inspired by fanart of them, but don’t know who it’s by sooo *shrug*:

*Kenma is a conductor (whenever he gets nervous about conducting at concerts, Kuroo reminds how the audience won’t see his face), he prefers conducting for musicals

*Kageyama conducts for Be More Chill and is really glad he doesn’t see Hinata’s acting for his most emotional song cause Kageyama knows he’d start crying, it’d break his heart to see his boyfriend like that, despite it being just acting

Kageyama and Hinata started dating before college

Kuroo, in theatre tech, and Kenma are also dating

One time, when Hinata tried on different outfits for BMC, he had on a varsity-style jacket, ripped jeans and a backwards snapback

Kenma quietly: “...Shouyou looks kinda hot” Kuroo, joking: “What, are you going to leave me for him?” Kenma, returning to his game: “I might” Kuroo: “...”

shhhh don’t worry, Papa Cat, Kenma’s there for you

*Yaku, Lev, Kai, and Yamamoto are also part of theatre tech

*when Lev first started he messed up the lights and microphones a lot, making Yaku ticked off

*so of course whenever he doesn’t mess up he immediately yells out to Yaku about is success-causing him to nearly miss the next cue

* “PAY ATTENTION, YOU DAMN GIANT” “YAKU-SAN DON’T BE MEAN BECAUSE YOU’RE UPSET ABOUT YOUR SHORTNESS” poor Lev, will he ever learn

*as mentioned in the previous post, Arsenic and Old Lace is the non-student run play going on during the same timeframe as BMC

* Daichi is Mortimer Brewster, and during the scene where Mortimer finds the dead body in the living room, he first over-exaggerated his reaction to the point he actually fell over and on the ground

*his teacher, the director, loved it and made Daichi do it that way every time

*Yachi is Daichi’s love interest, Elaine Harper- I mean, this bubbly character is perfect for her

*it’s her first big role, and she was so happy to received it, glad she decided to go into this field as she was hesitant in her skills

* Yukie and Kaori are respectively Martha and Abby Brewster

*Daichi claims Yukie has too much fun with her role-actually, she’s just very energetic on stage, she loves the atmosphere of the theatre and how she can play so many characters and they’re all different

*And playing a murdering spinster is now a character she can check off her bucket list

The next part will probably focus on other character’s roles and their relationships with each other
