I know it's the angst prompt but I didn't feel like writing angst, so here's Roman flustering Virgil again 🤭 @anaroceitweek

“I think you need to apologize,” Janus advises and Roman sighs.

“Yeah, you’re right. I’ll work out something.”

“Work out what? You suck at apologies,” Virgil snorts from the couch.

“Excuse you! I’m great at apologizing!”

“Sure, princey.”

“Maybe you should prove it to him, Roman,” Janus suggests with a sly smile.

“What a wonderful idea, darling!” He stands and goes over to Virgil, kneeling in front of him and taking his hand.

“I’m sorry, mi amore,” he whispers and presses a kiss to Virgil’s hand.

“Gross,” Virgil complains but his face is red, and he doesn’t retract his hand.

“I’m not done yet, obviously! It’s gonna work, trust me,” Roman defended, paintbrush still in hand.

“I am! Mostly.”

“Are you trying for minimalism or what?” Virgil asked as he joined them. “That’s so not your style, princey.”

“Don’t insult me! I would never be that basic. Just you wait, I have big plans.”

“That you won’t tell us about.”

“It wouldn’t be a surprise otherwise now, would it?”

“Cryptids are not a conspiracy theory!” Virgil cried, offended beyond belief.

“They’re similar though,” Roman argued back, shrugging.

“Not in the slightest! Apologize to Mothman right this instant!”

“I will not apologize to a fictional character!”

“You are both pretty, now can you shut up and let me watch this documentary in peace?” Janus interjected, regretfully seated between them.

“No!” both yelled at the same time and Janus just sunk deeper into the couch with a sigh before taking a big gulp of his wine. His boyfriends kept arguing over him. Why was he in love with these idiots again?

“You’re really milking your broken leg for everything you can get, huh?” Virgil scoffed but got up to comply.

“What are you saying, Virgil? I’m just following the doctor’s orders and let it rest as much as possible.”

“Yeah, for now. But I hope you know that Roman’s going to be on your ass as soon as you’re supposed to start exercising it again.”

“And I will appreciate his muscles flexing as he explains the exercise to me every time.”

Virgil rolled his eyes but couldn’t argue.

Virgil continued to run until he collapsed on a bench along the path. He took deep breaths as he let the situation that had just happened play in his head again.

Roman and Janus had asked him to join them on a walk.

Then they had confessed to him.

Both of them.

Virgil had felt his face go red and instinctively, he had run.

Fuck, was that embarrassing.

He could never face them again.

“Virgil, darling?” he suddenly heard Janus voice. “That was very cute but are you okay?”

He groaned but couldn’t help smiling. He did love them back.

Summary: Roman watches over his loves as they take a nap.

Roman cards his hand through his boyfriends’ hair, Virgil on his left, Janus on his right. He’s seated on the room floor, back to the couch with his partners’ heads placed in his lap. The afternoon sun shines through the window in a pleasant warmth that makes them all very sleepy.

Virgil especially is rarely as calm, plagued by insomnia most nights. Now he is peaceful, and his chest rises in even, calm breaths.

Janus, being coldblooded, struggles in the colder months, so this time in the sun is especially precious for him.

It’s a perfect moment in Roman’s eyes.
