Yandere Albedo

Albedo's eyes widened in surprise, as he heard the words, and he let out a guttural growl. How dare you talk to him that way? He had sacrificed everything for you, and this was the thanks he got? His anger for you started to boil up inside of him, until eventually he couldn't contain it anymore.

Let's just say, you were locked up outside of his lab for a while. As an artificial human, the cold might not harm him (I'm pretty sure that he shouldn't die in game bc of sheer cold-) but you, dear, are a normal human being.

Being outside in Dragonspine, having no idea where to go, or which way to go to run away. Plus the cold was getting to you. Though, maybe, death could be an escape from this psycho?

Meanwhile Albedo, was waiting for you to surrender to cold and take you back inside. Just so you learn your lesson. He had given you everything he could, except freedom. No matter how patient he is, he cannot help but feel somewhat annoyed that you don't love him yet. Also he doesn't really understand his feelings, so you are here to teach him them. He wanted this nice and fuzzy feeling he gets when he's with you, love.

..But got anger instead. Usually from rivals that he had eliminated, but this time from the lack of love he was getting from you.

Yandere Dottore

Dottore was absolutely appalled by the words and gestures of his darling. He felt a wave of anger, hate, and sadness roll over him as they spoke, and he had to restrain himself from attacking them on the spot. These feelings were so foreign and intense that he could barely process them, but he knew that he had to keep his cool and come up with a plan to deal with them. He needed to show them that they were no match for his power and that he was in charge. So he put on his best smile and walked over to them, but it all felt so fake and forced.

He had an unreadable smiling expression on his face, as he had walked over to where his Darling was standing.

No matter how many times he had experimented on you, he treated you slighly better than his other subjects. He wanted you to love him, no matter what, no matter what he did, even to you. Although he was a sick, twisted monster, that usually felt delight when he saw his subjects surrender, feel numb and be terrified of him, for some reason he felt..sadness when he heard your words.

Alatus also known as the original design of xiao or red xiao

I call him Alatus since calling him red xiao is kinda weird

As written in the title my headcanon is that Alatus is Xiao’s older twin

Many say he is flirty and I think so too but I think he would also be a big softy towards his s/o

He smiles 24/7 and loves hanging out with people that are close to him

He is the opposite of his twin brother Xiao, he gets along with almost anyone he meets and is fairly popular among girls 🥴

Although they are different like the moon and sun they get along well and are very close

Flirt with anyone doesn’t matter what gender he is just like that

but no one knows that he never dated anyone and never even had his first kiss🤭

When you flirt back he will return it back but is secretly bashful inside and is bad at hiding the blush that formes on his cheeks

people who write about him give him different names and some call him Rubedo and I am one of them ☺️ his name is Rubedo

I think unlike Albedo he is very emotional and he shows that he is emotional

He is very quiet in nature so I think he would get along with a person that is quite and gentle

His eyes are ice blue (rather than teal like albedos) and they hold endless curiosity

He is curious about other things simple things that is normal to any other person and not really the alchemical curiosity

He is curious about those this since he never reallly got to see them

When you first found him in the cave he was tense

Thousand thoughts ran through his mind like—"are they going to hurt me?” But relaxed when he saw you meant no harm

When you offered your hand for him to hold he was hesitating and scared but also craving for care since he never got it. But he took your hand after seeing your reassuring eyes

He is touch-starved and therefore loves soft attention

Simply sharing with him something small can lighten up his whole world, darling whether that be what you did that day or share your food with him or literally anything

Though he keeps a distance when he does lay next to you afraid that you might not like it when he is too close to you

But you don’t mind so when you do find him lay next to you you know that he had that nightmare again so you hold him close

He listens to every single word you say and let them directly sink into his heart and let’s himself cry to sleep

Losis is the whopper flower albedo

I call him Rubedo’s child cuz the little flower trusts Rubedo and the little one follows his master around

So I imagine the whopper flower like a child like a duckling waddling behind his parent

Is like a child version of Albedo (though the hair is not braided unlike Rubedo and albedo)

Is VERY shy and hides behind Rubedo most of the time

Has trust issues with Albedo since…well Albedo stabbed him

He almost never talks since he is a whopper flower

Loves being carried by you and Rubedo and when you do he falls a sleep most of the time

He’ll come up to one of you and stretch his little hands towards you pleaing to carry him

He also loves going in nature it brings him comfort

Loves picking flowers and putting them in Rubedo or your hair (sometimes his own)

If he does put flowers in his own hair he looks like a small flower bush waddling around ☺️

Is very emotional like Rubedo and…cry’s sometimes…

Childe: for some odd reason, he was sent out by the Tsaritsa to retrieve a man who was impersonating one of the eleven harbingers and you were to go along. she said men were much more willing to follow along, if there was a beautiful woman promising affection, etc. the only problem was, to win over the impersonator, you had to pretend to be Childe’s co-worker. he hated this idea, and the minute he left, he reassured you he would not call you his partner unless it was romantically. so hell yeah, he’ll compromise the mission and will return without the impersonator. he does not care, you’re not his co-worker. he’ll just be like, “sorry, next time send me alone.”

Venti: jean why... ofc you'd be great company duh, but why did you need to be his babysitter on this expedition?!? sure, Venti may look like a child, but this was stupid! he’s loose-lipped anyways, so he’ll accidentally let it slip to whoever that you’re not his babysitter and that you’re his s/o. he’ll be like, “oops.” with the biggest shit-eating grin. he doesn’t care though, you’re not his babysitter grrr. 

Razor: he also accidentally lets it slip you’re his s/o. hunters were after him and his friends, you included (you’re human, he considers you family though, therefore wolf) and he just yells, “don’t touch my mate, GRRR” before ya know, ending them lmao. it never crossed his mind that maybe it wasn’t in his/your best interest to say what you were to him. other hunters could be nearby listening and then target you at a later date. but, tbh he will worry about that another day. as long as you’re safe now, he’ll always be there to protect you. 

Refuses (he doesn’t refuse the mission, but he refuses calling you someone other than his s/o/he won’t say if you’re his s/o or not.) 

Kaeya: he definitely won’t be calling you anything other than his s/o but he also won’t offer this mission to anyone else. he’s more than capable and he can do this without you having to be in danger too. if someone asks who you are, he’ll just cooly respond with, “none of your business.” and move on. he’ll use that whenever someone asks who you are. even if someone gets a little pushy, he won’t use anything to clue them of your relationship.

Xingqiu: he was supposed to borrow steal a book from someone. he needed it for personal purposes lol; it would be great for his collection. and from his understanding, the person who has it wasn’t using it. though you were confused on why he needed to break into somewhere to retrieve it. you just happened to be with him when he broke in, he says it was an accident that you were there, but tbh it’s all part of the thrill and his mischievousness. despite Chongyun warning him that he shouldn’t have brought you, he still did. and when the person who owns the book whips out a sword and then asks why you were brought along if you seemed timid and unreluctant to steal, Xingqiu’s response is, “well she’s my girlfriend! duh.” cue deadpan. legit no hesitation.

Scaramouche: this mission is happening no matter what. the Tsaritsa’s life is on the line; highly trained assassins from all over Teyvat were sent into Snezhnayan territory to kill her. she could protect herself, but Scaramouche was feeling feverish for battle; he was one of the more unhinged and dangerous harbingers, she entrusted this task upon him. he never turned down a mission. plus, it’s your fault you’re even here. why are you here again!? he left you home in Inazuma days ago. also... who the hell was looking after your daughter if not you...?? when you caught up with him once he was well away from Liyue Harbor’s docks (so he couldn’t force you to get back onto the ship, smart) you told him you weren’t some housewife and you missed the thrill of adventure, so you snuck on the ship too. he wasn’t sure how you got on in the first place without alerting The Kanjobugyo (you’ve snuck out before, so he’s told them not to let you leave, though he assumed you used your former title of a Fatui to gain clearance) let’s just say he’s not happy you’re here, but he’s not turning back now, he’s determined to end this. in the end, he kills all the assassins (ofc). on your way back to Liyue Harbor, arguing about why you’re here (you’re losing), another assassin comes out of the shadows; intent on killing the both of you. he’d managed to grab the end of your hair in his fist and was going to slit your throat. Scaramouche will say, “don’t touch my wife, you insolent scum.” he doesn’t have a problem telling those who have a death wish of your intimate relationship, because they’ll die in the end anyway; therefore to him, it’d be like they never knew. 

Zhongli: not many people know you’re his s/o anyways, so if he has something to do, especially dangerous you’re not coming along. he’ll make sure of that. on missions or something, he refuses to call you anything other than his s/o, but if he can’t/wants to keep it private he’ll call you by your name. if you’re facing off against someone, he’ll be like, “y/n, please watch out, I’ll handle this.” he never wants to put you in danger, and tbh even someone threatening who knows your name is a risk, but if they ever found out that you were not only his s/o but the s/o of an Archon? yeah, you’d be on a hit list just like him. 

Accepts (he will do this and won’t ask any questions)

Diluc: sorry y’all, but once this is discussed in full and you agree, he’s going to accept it. this mission is important. it’s not often people travel into Inazuma, so he was very lucky his wine is sold there and that he has a popular, well-known name. shipments of his wine weren’t making it into the borders and he was to find the culprit behind it; someone was stealing obviously. you were to go along with a few other soldiers and when jean told him it would be safer to call you his maid and not his fiancé, he agreed. you wouldn’t be a target that way. if anyone wonders why he took his maid, he’ll just say, “she’s to travel everywhere with me.” don’t worry, after the missions over he’ll reassure you he doesn’t think of you as his maid, definitely not. he’ll apologize profusely. “please don’t think of yourself that way, you’re not my maid, I adore you very much, sweetheart.”

Xiao: he already doesn’t go around calling you his wife or telling just anyone, only the Archons know and the fallen Yaksha once knew (you’re one of the female Yaksha) so being talked into this wasn’t a big deal at all. before, he didn’t run around Liyue telling people about your relationship because you both enjoyed the privacy. but now, having to call you his fellow Yaksha who’s been working alongside him for centuries, kinda feels like he’s ignoring or not acknowledging you. sure, you do hold the same titles (Yaksha) and yes you’ve known eachother for centuries, but really, you’ve been together for centuries. if you’re not bothered, then he doesn’t mind. but if you are? he’s very apologetic and will repay you in some way. “you’re not a weakling, you have no reason to worry.” he needs to do this task, he’ll never turn away from the people and if you have to be known as your Yaksha title to him and others, so be it. 

Chongyun: it’s not that he doesn’t want to call you his s/o. it’s just he’s a quiet guy and never has told anyone about your relationship; only Xingqiu knows. so he has no problem introducing you as his friend to absolute strangers, especially if you’re okay with it. if you’re not and tell him, he’ll be sure to never call you a friend again. he’s really looking out for your safety, people can be two-faced as he’s learned from Xingqiu’s fantasy books. he wants to protect and keep you safe, and if you need to be addressed as his friends a few times then that’s how it’s going to go. 

Accepts (he’ll accept but he has so many questions on why and hates it)

Albedo: he will accept if there’s a logical reason. for example, if you absolutely need to come because you’re his assistant or something and can offer your expertise, he will accept. but if you have no need? you’re not coming, please stay home. the whole time, he hates this. yes, you’re his assistant irl, but you’re his s/o, not just an assistant. it makes him sick that he has to call you that tbh, even if it’s your occupation. but it’s necessary for a lot of reasons you two have already discussed. after the mission is complete, he’s never going to stop apologizing. “love, please do not take what I said to heart, you’re not just an assistant.”

Aether: he has to be talked into this a lot. once kaeya and jean tell him the seriousness and importance of seeing his sister again, especially after all they’ve discovered about her, he’ll agree. no matter how much he hates calling you his travel partner, he has to. his sister has turned to the dark side for whatever reason and this meeting already is risky enough. if she finds out you’re his girlfriend, who knows how she’ll react; she’s very unpredictable now, a little unhinged even. but it does hurt to have to call you that, let’s be real. he never wants to say or hear that ever again.

Bennett: he knows he’s quite unfortunate, so you going with him on expeditions is just stupid and you could face something awful due to his bad luck. you go either way though, what a good s/o :) he almost slips a few times, especially facing off against a few lowlife Fatui. but then you remind him of the dangers of doing that and you’re immediately just a friend/member of Benny's Adventure Team. pls, he hates this so much, like why can’t he call you what you are?!? he’s constantly like, “well why can’t I just say you’re my s/o already? they won’t harm you as long as I’m here!” ?!?!?!? HE JUST DID?!?!?!?!

Diluc

Absolute pretty boy who has braincells, but only if Kaeya is not there. In his mind, Kaeya’s presence makes his room loose 40% of their common sense. He can’t prove it just yet but he’s working on it. He majors in accounting but also has a minor in marketing, logistics’ management, fia- he majors everything business related. He’s going to become the next Elon Musk through smarts or by getting the competition drunk. There can be no contest if he’s the only candidate. He’s actually a hard working guy that overworks and stresses way too much. You have daily “Diluc recharge” evenings where he just hangs onto you while you go through your day.

“Don’t fucking talk to me until I’ve had my coffee,” except there is no coffee - he drinks grape juice out of juice boxes and his only energy boost is when he meets up with you - and that’s his constant mood. So he usually only hangs around you and Jean, since she has childhood friend status and is actually an angel. By default, Lisa is added and Diluc doesn’t mind her but if he see’s Kaeya, it’s full on war paint mode. If he's not busy with work or studies, he's usually with you either in your dorm or his apartment.

He has a fanclub and he seriously hates it and tries to do everything in his power to get Ningguang to take it down. Shouldn’t this be against his rights? But she refuses for whatever reason and makes a whole speech about free will. No matter what he does, someone manages to take a picture and it get’s printed in the university’s newspaper. The only bonding time he has with Kaeya is every Monday, where they collect and burn all the universities newspapers before anyone can get their hands on it. You always bring marshmallows to make smores during their arson activities.

“When I graduate I’m going to burn this school down to the ground. That’s not a threat it’s a promise.”

Ningguang

Is secretly the leader of the Diluc fanclub - not that she likes Diluc, she’s in a questionable platonic poly marriage with you and Beidou - but it was the easiest way to gain funds for the student council. Which she is the president of, so rip Diluc the fanclub stays. Ruthless business woman I tell you. But she can run in heels so her danger factor rises by at least 20%.

Majors in social sciences and law but more specifically the political science & government. She saw the Imperial State Crown that the Queen of England wears and says yes, that’s mine now. If she’s not with Beidou and you planning on “how to infiltrate the state government just for lols”, then she’s with Keqing, Ganyu, and Zhongli discussing student council things. Should they or should they not tell the student body that they can see everyone’s search results? Sit back and relax as the school goes into chaos. 

She’s probably the scariest person on campus No, she is the scariest person on campus. She’s the scariest person on campus. But secretly she’s popping 20 aspirins just to make it through a night. She has the digestive system of steel. She still holds the title of "seriously do not try and beat her in a drinking game it's never going to happen" and that's her proudest achievement in life but sadly she can’t put it on her resume. Kaeya is still trying to beat her out of spite but so far it hasn't been working. You’re seriously concerned for her when she get’s challenged but Beidou gives you a way-to-hard slap on the back and cheers her on. If Ninngguang somehow get’s alcohol poisonings she’ll somehow find away to make a profit out of it.

"I'll let him die, I'll get the insurance money."

Kaeya

One day he chugged too much mouth wash, passed out, and somehow woke up in university majoring in law. His idea is that if he is apart of the law, he can therefore stand above it. To be fair, his only goal in life is to say “I am the manager” and he can go live the rest of his life in bliss or as a hermit. He’s secret best friends with you but wouldn't be caught dead beside you. He will stab a bitch if you ever get hurt but will still trip you on the way home. Seriously, you have no idea why people find him attractive. Your guess is it’s the eye patch or the clap of his ass cheeks that keeps alerting everyone.  

He’s apart of the newspaper club and if anyone asks: No, he has no idea who keeps taking all the newspapers and burns them in the back of the campus. Originally, he joined because he was nosy and needed to join some type of club for his resume. He sometimes feels bad for his junior assistant Amber because he keeps tricking her and says that Diluc is secretly a demon that is trying to steal all the jobs and is apart of the lizard government hell bent on eradicating the human race. He even brought out a whiteboard for this joke, he’s dedicated to his job ok? 

The type of guy to try and be humble and say his work is “okay” but will choke a bitch if anyone agrees. He tends to leave everything last minute and says that it’s his drug since actual drugs could land you one year in prison and a maximum penalty of $2,000. You have to awkwardly hold in your concerned mother head shake when you see him speed running his assignment literally right when the professor is walking around to check if students finished. 

“I was taught how to lead not to read.”

Mona

Broke wallet #2. Zhongli is broke wallet #1 but Childe simps for him so is he really a broke wallet at this point? In this essay, I Mona Megistus, will explain why I have the rights to the title “Broke Wallet #1″...

Believes that astrology should be an actual career path but refuses to take astronomy as her major. I can read the stars not a textbook that tells me how to calculate the mass of the sun divided by the fucks I give. Instead she went into Philosophy and cries to Albedo, who is an actual prodigy genius- sir lend some braincells to everyone else please?, that her professor keep turning her paper down because “star reading” is not an academic source.

Fischl wants her to join the occult club because, surprisingly, Mona is very good at telling people’s fates through her crayon sketch ouija board. She thinks first year Fischl is cute but is put off by the cosplay roleplay that she has going on. She would join except that stupid hat wearing gremlin in her lit class would make fun of her if he found out.

You gave her half your lunch one day and bought her a doughnut "because she seemed upset" and "out of the goodness of your heart" whatever the hell that means. She thinks you pensioned it but once that thought comes she takes a bite. Poison from a doughnut is not the worst way to go out, classes are hard enough. She’s waiting for the lord to strike her down anyways.

Venti

Slept through most of highschool and people question how he got into university. He’s a music major (wow how fucking original is that), and if anyone asks him to serenade someone or just do anything, he’ll do it for the right price. Or if you buy him alcohol because he still keeps getting ID checked. He’s banking on Kaeya actually becoming a lawyer or being on good terms with Diluc so he can finally stop being arrested for looking like a toddler.

Takes one step into classes and quickly nopes out and goes back to bed. Professors have no idea how he hasn't dropped out or failed. He just has some god given talent. He does whine at you to pretty pretty please with a cherry on top tutor him because you're such an angel and would never leave your poor but awesome best friend hanging right? He needs to get this essay down but how he is suppose to explain how the number 10 is symbolic and connects to the universe or the meaning of life. Do you think he can just say it’s apart of his culture and make up some random myth to pretend it looks like he knows what he’s doing? 

He’s honestly going with the flow and put his brain on the back burner all of highschool and only now realizes wait, I actually have to use my brain?

He’s been banned from most club chats since Venti has the no chill card. Someone says “lol I look ugly today.” and he’ll respond "yup, you look like a cow." and he get’s banned. Zhongli keeps a speed run timer on his phone just to document these occasions.

Childe

An actual dumbass that somehow does well. He eats sandwiches with the crust off, this heathen. Surprisingly he’s studying to become a physical therapist but most of his experience has come from breaking his own bones. You’re scared how he's going to be if he actually becomes a therapist. If he'll make bets with his patients or try to one up whatever crazy injury they get into. Everything is a challenge to him that sometimes the best way to deal with Childe is to knock him out. 

This man really knows the way to a Zhongli’s woman's heart. Through micro transactions. Mona saw him accidently drop $20 and just shrugged and walked off. She has never been both spiritually and physically offended in her life. She did take the $20 though. As much as you hate leeching on Chile when he’s basically a walking wallet that probably uses bills as tissue paper, you can’t help but give him puppy eyes while planning on how to get into his will. If he even plans on having one, he might honestly write “whoever wins in a gladiator style duel in my funeral’s tournament, they will get my fortune.”. 

Any sport the university offers Childe is probably in it. Which is how he met Zhongli, challenged him to a fight, proceeded to have his ass handed to him, got a backhanded compliment, and screamed to you he was in love and how he found his soulmate. He's secretly very sappy and has cried and watched every Disney and Pixar movie at least 28 times.

God if it isn’t Scaramouche, it’s Childe that ruins the aesthetic. This is why I hate you. Why do you people enable me like this, it isn’t even good. This is pretty much a @ yourself moment and I vibe hard with Venti. This entire post was just to make a joke about the clap of Kaeya’s ass cheeks alerting the guards.

flustrated mistakes pressure

Frustrated (how do they act in a fight?)

Albedo is a very calm person, his face usually being stoic almost making him seem he has a lack of emotions if he has any at all. To be honest, Albedo is very intelligent and he knows that. He is an alchemist and studies hard to find out the secret of this world. Even though Albedo loves you and adores you I can't fall but think that he can be a little narcissistic sometimes.

Look, he doesn't mean it badly but you're just a random average person who does commissions while he is the great alchemist. And I feel like if yall both would have a fight and you would break down or show emotional vulnerability he would look down at you. Why would yall fight though? Maybe he doesn't spend time with you because of his work? Or because he doesn't show as many emotions as humans do? Or maybe It's because you found him and Kaeya in rather an intimate action?

"Albedo," you spoke softly and quietly. You can't stop the aching in your heart, it hurts so much. Your knees on the floor as your hands together begging him to tell you what you did wrong? Just what horrible thing you did that you messed so badly. What did you do so wrong that he got tired of you and cheated on you. You just don't understand.

Albedo slowly turns around sighing as his face is again stoic. His eyes cold making you shiver. You hate it, you hate it so much. He makes you feel weak, he makes you feel like you don't deserve love. Your eyes move down to the floor avoiding eye contact. It's human nature to feel negative emotions and to cry yet you feel so ugly and so vulnerable right now.

His glowed hand takes you by your chin making you look at him. As you still kneel with salty tears staining your cheeks and glossy eyes hurting. He is looking at your face. His hand holding your chin so tightly it almost hurts.

"Pathetic," is the only thing that leaves his lips before he lets go of your chin your head hanging slow. "You humans are really pathetic," he slowly took the glow he touched you with and throws it into a bin. Your hands turning into fists, you want to respond but you can't as you feel like you can't speak.

You don't dare to look at him you can't you're scared. You hate feeling this way but you really are.

He smiles seeing your small figure before he turns away and leaves.

Mistakes (make up after a fight)

Albedo knows he did a mistake, he knows it when he comes home expecting a warm hug but instead he is greeted by cold air.

He knows what he did wrong and he feels ashamed because of that. Lust clouded his eyes and selfishness filled his brain. He knows his behavior towards you was cruel. And he is ready for you not to accept his apology.

Guilt and shame wash over him, he feels like he can't focus on his work. He thinks about ways to make it up to you.

He tries everything, ending it with Kaeya, buying you flowers and sweets. Giving you presents and apology notes yet nothing seems to work.

Your face stone-cold every time you see him, always leaving before he has a chance to talk to you. He asked Sucrose for advice. He asked Amber for help. He even went to Jean begging her on his knees to help him.

He feels so empty without you. Without your morning face and soft touches. Your teasing and your hand-made presents.

He stops at your house with the last letter. The letter being a handwritten apology. It's up to you if you accept it.

If not he will make sure you will never see him again.

Pressure (they reach their breaking point)

How would Albedo feel if he would finally reach his breaking point? How he would feel if he saw the mondstat being destroyed by his own hands?

He would feel, he would be confused. Now that he sits on the grass that was burned watching the destroyed homes and fire not that far away. The people lying unconscious. The children running away trying to wake up their parents. And you, who is holding your arm with glossy eyes and bandaged fingers running towards him.

His eyes again without emotion, he doesn't know what he feels. Sadness? Anger? Happiness? Shame?

Does he feel like a failure or he feels proud? His s/o gently holding his cheeks trying to shake him, he looks very tired and exhausted. Dark eye bags decorating his pale face, his hair messy and his clothes dirty.

"Am I a bad person?" Albedo spokes, his voice calming as it always been. He acknowledges your presence yet he doesn't look at you. He stares at mondstat. Not really Mondstat more like remains of mondstat. He patiently waits for your answer listening to the Children's cries and deadly screams.

"Of course you're not," you gently stroke his cheeks taking his hand and pulling it softly, "we need to go before the fire will extend." Albedo looks at you, "I finally found the secret of life."

He looks back smelling the burning human flesh and burning wood. The ash in the air making it hard to breathe, "my studying finally reached Its end." He smiles pointing onto the fire, "My precious time, was it all worth it?" You once again take his hand pulling him to stand up but he just smiles at you widely. Has he gone crazy?

"Isn't this beautiful s/o?" His eyes glittering with madness," my love stay here with me, my darling sits here." You let go of his hand looking at him with a confused glare, "A-Albedo what has gone into you. We will die if we will not go right now." 

"Does it really matter? Life or death It's the same, at least we can finally rest," he looks once again onto Mondstat. "Life is meaningless after all."

He perches atop the cliff, looking out at the scenery. There is not much to see here, not even for the miles that his exceptional vision affords him, but he is less looking and more sensing. No dangers, aside from the usual inhabitants of the isle that he does not consider a threat. Good. May it stay that way, though he would welcome the diversion. He rustles his wings, restless. The itch is bearable now, but will become less so if it remains quiet for too long. 

A thin, high-pitched whistle floats through the air; it is faint, very faint, but he hears it nonetheless. He takes flight, dark wings angling him towards the sound as he scans the crags for the voice's owner. 

"Albedo? Where are you?"

His ears perk up at his name, and he folds his wings in and dives, snapping them back out to flutter down the rest of the distance. Lumine smiles even as she shields her face against the gust of wind, then holds out a hand, and he stretches his neck out to place his muzzle against her palm. As he does so, his draconic hide falls away, reverting him back to human form, though his wings and horns remain, as do some of the scales along his arms and legs.

"Here," he says, smiling back, as he presses her hand closer to his own cheek. 

"You're chilled," she accuses as she rubs a thumb across his skin, but he merely shrugs.

"It does not bother me," he replies, though he has a dim awareness of the cool air now that he is not in dragon form. 

"Even so."

He gazes back at her, taking in all the angles of her face, the glint of her eyes once again. Her hair has grown longer since their first meeting. Albedo never tires of staring at her and marking each and any minute change that occurs; he has committed every detail otherwise to memory, and she bears his continued scrutiny with patient amusement. Once, it was an artist's gaze. Now, it is a dragon's, though not entirely lacking the artist's, either. But it is a dragon's nature to want to keep, and he finds that desire more...palpable, lately. 

But he remembers that it is she who keeps him, draws him back from the precipice of danger. The melding between dragon and human is—more natural than he could’ve hoped when it happened, thanks to her tethering. He retains his clarity, his sanity; he can still perform alchemy, pursue it, pursue the truth of the world as his mentor wanted past his previous scope. But he wanders, within his mind; it is his nature to chase, to go further than he did before, and thus skirt what he should not.

It was how he ended up the way he is, of course. 

"Are you still with me?"

He blinks, dragging himself out of his thoughts, the sense of keep keep keep mine, mine receding to a less potent want. Her eyes are still amused, as if she can guess the vein of his thoughts, as though she'd like to see him try. He does not realize how hard he is pressing her hand against his cheek now, trapping her where she is, though she has not tried to pull away, either. 

"Yes, of course," he says, after a belated pause, and she wiggles her fingers against his grip.

"Come inside them,” she says, tilting her head back towards the cave they are currently inhabiting. "I thought you were teaching me more khemia scripts today."

He loosens his hold just enough for her to slip her hand away, but when she walks away, he trails closely behind her. Even now she is the light, the beacon. He charts his course by her voice. 

Albedo reaches out again, his hands still curved to claws at the tips, his eyes intent on her retreating figure.

Without turning, she reaches over, catching his wrist, drawing his arms around her shoulders.   

"If you were cold, you need simply say so," she murmurs. 

He blinks, then chuckles a little.

"Yes, that is it," he says, sighing into the curve of her neck.

She pats his hand, the pretenses obvious between them, and leads him back into the warm darkness.

(It is a stranger who finds him on the ground in the red cave, gripping his own heart as Durin's pulsates behind him. But she is familiar nonetheless: her golden eyes, the shape of her nose, the patterns on her clothes—all of it is familiar, and even through the dark poison clouding his mind, he is surprised. 

"Lumine," he struggles to say, and she raises an eyebrow, but does not seem that perturbed that he should know her name. 

"My reputation precedes me," she says softly, walking forward and taking his chin in her hand. She turns his face to the side, just enough to see the pattern of scales from cheek to jaw. "As does yours. Hello, Albedo. Are you in need of help?"

He smiles at her bland conversational tone, as if Durin's remains were not corrupting him, the darkness invading his mind and rending his insides, twisting them into something else. Her manner pleases him, actually; the words give him a choice, despite how obvious the answer is. He does not doubt that she would leave him to his devices if he said no; it was his own folly that brought him here, too far over the edge that he cannot return, and this is his consequence to reap. 

He would accept it gladly if he was not aware, even vaguely, how much damage he would cause to others—to the place he’s come to call home, to the people he considers family.

"And what manner of help would that be?" he forces out, trying to keep his own tone light, and her eyes gleam at his effort. 

"I cannot halt whatever transformation you will go through," she murmurs, more apologetic than he would have expected, "But I can prevent the corrosion of your mind, should you wish it."

Should he wish it. Yes, he supposes in the case of something like this, it might be easier to lose his mind entirely.

But he is not looking for the easy path.

She looks faintly surprised at his expression—not resignation, but interest. Even now, the desire to pursue knowledge is strong, too strong. Even now, he sees an opportunity, an impossibly rare one that would never been available to him otherwise. 

Still. He knows who she is—not only the famed Traveler's sister whom he has searched high and low for, but the Abyss Princess. The one who left her brother behind. Despite how beautifully she presents her offer, it could be far more dangerous than anticipated, his curiosity aside.

Unfortunately, he does not have the luxury of time to negotiate the finer points. 

Pain seizes his body; he writhes, stone cutting into him as he jerks back, a choked gasp escaping his throat before he coughs violently, blood splattering onto crystal. Durin's heart flares brighter, and it is harder to breathe, as though the very air is burning his nostrils and lungs. 

Kill! Kill! Kill her! Tear into her! Tear her into pieces! Destroy her!

Such thoughts flood his mind, and he lunges forward with one hand—

She catches it, palm to palm, twining their fingers together. For a moment he comes back to himself, whether by shock or her touch or both, and her golden eyes are close, so very close.

"I am in need of a companion," she whispers, "And I am not afraid of the monster you will become."

She has an inkling—or knows, then, what he will be turning into, more or less. 

He forces another breath, trying to get words out. His voice already sounds inhuman to his own ears as he tries to speak.

"My sister," he rasps, "Mondstadt. Will you promise safety from me?" 

She meets his eyes, and for a moment he thinks that she cannot understand him through the garbled words. But her gaze is soft, and he wills himself to hang onto his last shred of clarity to hear her response.

"I will," she says.

Albedo gives her a weak smile before he pitches forward into her arms, and the contract is sealed.)

(Hundreds of miles away, a carefully sealed letter is left in a hole marked with "My Treasure", weighted down by a rock to prevent its theft by wind. Some days later, a little girl uncharacteristically downcast by the weeks-long disappearance of her brother finds it. She does not recognize the handwriting, but does recognize the shaky signature at the end and the wobbly drawing that accompanies it. 

The paper crinkles in her hands, her eyes water and lips tremble, but she smooths the letter back out and places it in her backpack, hanging onto a thin hope that she will meet her brother again one day.)
