Do you think that rose fusions would have a different weapon then steven’s?

Super sorry about answering this so late, i’ve been on a bit of a break.

anyways, i personally think its likely they would! same thing i’ve said about fusions in the past, they are the manifestation of the fusee’s relationships, and i dont think that steven is just Rose 2.0.

the gems have completely different relationships with steven than they did with rose, and a fusion’s weapon tends to be a combination of the weapons of the users, as WELL as a weapon thats suited for the fusion’s personality.

Aka: Rose+Ame=/=Steven+Ame, and therefore, RoseAme_Weapon=/=StevenAme_Weapon

being a steven universe fan at my core, my fyp on tiktok comes up with SU content every now and then, and im literally getting whiplash from the amount of people starting to follow the ideology that Rose will reform after Steven dies,,, like babes did yall watch the show??

Its so wild to me that people in the SU community dont think ice is a mineral, and therefore cannot be a gemsona. Because it really shows a fundamental misunderstanding of what a mineral is. At its simplest core, a mineral is a solid chemical compound.

Comparing Quartz to Ice for example:

Quartz is the chemical compound SiO2 (Silicon Dioxide) “cooled” to its solid form.

Ice is the chemical compound H20 (Dyhydrogen Monoxide) cooled to ITS solid form.

The only TRUE difference between the two is that one has a melting point of 3,002°F (1650°C), and the other has a melting point of 32°F (0°C).

“But real life ice cant stay solid at the average temperatures of planet earth!”

Okay, and? Real life bismuth has a melting point of 520.5°F (271.4°C) AND a boiling point of 2,847°F (1,564°C). Meanwhile canon Bismuth was walking through lava, something that can naturally be up to 2,200°F (1204.4°C), like it was a warm shower. Did she look like she was near boiling?? Was she melting??? No. Because gems dont have the same “biology” as real minerals.

TLDR; Quartz and Ice are essentially the same thing, and therefore there is no reason why they cant both be Gems in Steven Universe.

Update on Life: Today as SO productive! I had an accidental spark of inspiration and was able to write out the ENTIRE plotline of Corundum’s story!! This is like, LEAPS AND BOUNDS ahead of where i was at before!

i know i talk about how im always working ok it, but when I say that, usually i mean either from an idea or design perspective, which is still true! Problem was, i was always working on these designs for characters, and scenarios for what would happen, but they had no complete story! I mean sure, i knew what story beats i wanted to hit, but i had so many ideas, with no way to string them together. But somehow today it just all,, CLICKED. Anyways it got me so excited, that i almost posted the plotline on tumblr —

Going forward, i can actually think of singular “episodes” rather than what the entire story might be, which is crazy to think about. Who knows what’ll happen next!

I love Rose Quartz + Pink Diamond, she’s my favorite character ever but…my god is it fun to hate on her

Oh yea i love Rose with all my heart- i think her character is SO interesting. Like, clearly she’s supposed to represent an abused child who grows to be better, but what i REALLY love is that they dont overplay her “better”.

Sure she IS factually better than before, but that doesnt mean she’s GOOD. And its proven through her actions as Rose Quartz. She desired to be a good person and make good decisions to make up for her irresponsibility in the past, but in doing so she did MORE irresponsible things. That kind of flawed character is just, gosh, so lovable. I only wish the narrative explored these aspects a little more clearly and thoroughly, as a lot of people tend to misunderstand her character to the fullest. Even everything i just said is SUPER simplified, thats just how packed she is as a character!

One of the most annoying parts of the Steven Universe Soundtrack is that it doesnt have every track. Yall dont understand how much i desire to listen to Ruby and Sapphire’s arguement theme when Garnet splits in Keystone motel. If you focus specifically on the music, you get to hear the AMAZING music choices that perfectly encompass their singular instruments, and how they work together so well even clashing against one another.

I JUST WISH THE VOICES DIALOUGE HAVE TO BE THERE.

What sucks about having my brain is that i am constantly filled with so many ideas for drawings and concepts, but putting them into practice past the sketching stage is so difficult. i literally have TONS of content to post that i simply cannot due to the fact that i wouldnt be able to take pride in posting unfinished work. and so my computer stays FILLED with “WIPs” that will never get done or looked at…

I dont know about yall, but when a fusion displays any of the quirks or mannerisms of either one of the fusees, it just makes me so giddy. Like sure, i know they’re an entirely new being, yadda yadda yadda, but when they just show little signs of their past selves?? Gosh idk what even about it i like, but i just know that its the most adorable thing? like a child mimicking the accent of one of their parents i guess?? idk its cute as fuck

its always so fucking funny when somebody goes out of their way to tell me that my headcanon on how fusion works is “wrong” because for every ask i get about it i make another fusion that with my rules. and its like, do yall genuinely think insulting me or speaking condescendingly to me is changing my opinion?? like im GENUINELY curious as to how that logically makes sense in yall heads?

Kinda wack how the Steven Universe fandom tends to pretend that certain characters are X way because of fanon content. Like sure, its cute seeing Blue Diamond being open to the idea of fusion with her fellow Diamonds or even other gems, but ultimately if you analyze HER character,,, she’s literally the least likely one to try it. Even if all three of the Diamonds were opposed to crossgem fusion, its clear to me that Blue was the most disrespectful to the entire idea.

Furthermore if one of the Diamonds WERE to try crossgem fusion, I’d place my money on Yellow Diamond. All things considered she was the one who was the most interested with crossgem fusion in the canon, albeit through forced fusion. But nonetheless, that’s still an actual interest in the concept. I wouldnt be surprised if she one day took some lessons from Garnet on what it means to be part of a fusion, and then designed to try it herself!

But in my opinion, the only way I see Blue entertaining the idea of fusion is if Yellow was her first partner, and if Yellow was already educated and experienced with the subject.

Update on Life: sometimes i REALLY dont like how i cant focus on one art project at a time- halfway through finishing the second part of spinel style gems and i’m already thinking of 4 other ideas for drawings- including crossover stuff 😩

Is it weird that gems had more specific jobs? Like sure we have a general idea of what every gem does, but I feel like, keeping lore in mind, it should be MORE specific. Like, sure Quartzs fight right? Well what if specifically Agates are the strongest. And Jaspers are tanks. And Amethysts are speedsters. Citrines are tactical. Stuff like that. And like, sure we’ve gor some implication that its like that, but the rule feels so loose, like it was designed to be broken. Which makes sense tor yhe story Rebecca Sugar was trying to tell, but that doesnt make sense in the lore. If the Diamonds were truly trying to create a perfect society where everything has a place and purpose regardless of emotions, then I feel like these specifications would be more useful. This even goes into the fact that sometimes we couldnt even tell what a gem was supposed to do? Take Topaz for example. What was her role in gem society? Was she a personal guard, or a professional captor? If a captor, why is she placed at the Diamond’s chamber doors? If a personal guard, why send her on the mission to kidnap the humans? You could argue that she’s made to do both, but if thats the case why even make different gems??? Couldnt a Topaz do the part of a Pearl just as well??

Idk maybe its not that deep, but I feel like if you’re trying to build a society from scratch as a story teller, you shouldn’t have viewers who have these questions.

Can I just say that I REALLY enjoy when yall ask me questions about my opinions on gems and stuff? Like I know there wont always be an interest from everyone who followed this blog for art (sorry about the inactivity btw,,, c o l l e g e ), but I genuinely enjoy helping people and sharing ideas and communicating. It makes me feel like my opinions on these topics matter!

I guess my point for posting this is, if you’ve been wanting to ask me something for awhile but feel nervous that your question wont be answered or it’s not as important, please try to gather the courage and ask. I am honored even if you consider my opinion on these topics as important, and I’d be happy to answer it as soon as possible.
