O most gracious Virgin Mary, it is well-known that anyone who has fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession has ever been left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.
Amen.

Soledad and I volunteered to handle John's 🌺 Memorial service Floral arrangements and Catering, which helps take the workload 📴 others.
JP (currently alive in Heaven) continues loving sunflowers. It is ❤️ 1 of his FAVORITES.
As part of John's 2 primary Flower arrangements, we're going to include one GIANT sunflower in each of them.
And the cool thing is, in ALL likelihood, we're getting them FROM the backyard of the house Church we attend❣️
Food choices for the Memorial Luncheon menu are still being negotiated.

Soledad and I 🔮 HOSTED a Christmas, 2023 "Thank you" Luncheon, for helping out with the homeless. It ended up being the last earthly supper our Family ALL had with John, together.
We placed jelly beans in a mason jar, asking those in attendance to guess how many 🫘 there were, and we gave out a prize to the person with the closest bean count.
Encircled (see ⬆️ pic) 🔮, the prize was a snow globe with a Rose of Sharon inside it.
MOM 🌹 Victoria had the closest guess.
Tumblr media
Soledad and I created THIS ⬆️ Floral arrangement for our dear Friend Moddy who is (alive and well in Heaven) a Catholic. The giant rose was made with fabrics.

What are you left with, 🌺 AFTER petals wither? ☀️ Here's an interesting FACT: Sunflowers have a very short shelf life. They bloom to their peak within a few weeks' ⏰ time of sprouting, in keeping with 🕎 God's design, and return to MULCH quickly.
As my Aunt Loida once told me, "🌹 The petals die, and what remains are THORNS."
Tumblr media
When 👺 petals whither, what's left are the THORNS.

"BLESSED ARE YOU, HOLY VIRGIN MARY, DESERVING OF ALL PRAISE; FROM YOU ROSE THE SUN OF JUSTICE, CHRIST OUR GOD. ALLELUIA, ALLELUIA." (ALLELUIA VERSE).
“Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife into your home. For it is through the Holy Spirit that this child has been conceived in her. She will bear a son and you are to name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:
Behold, the virgin shall be with child and bear a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel, which means “God is with us.” (Matthew 1: 1 - 16, 18 - 23).
Thursday 8th September 2022 of 23rd Week of Ordinary Time is the great feast of the Birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Her birth marks the moment when she who was to conceive by the power of the Holy Spirit and give birth to our Savior, Jesus-Emmanuel was born.
Who is Mary?
Why is her cult so passionate and universal and controversial to non Catholics?
Mary is the Only Child of Saints Joachim and Anne. She is the Mother of Emmanuel, God-with-us, Jesus "who will save his people from their sins."
Mary is the Woman of Genesis 3: 15:
"I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers;
They will strike at your head,
while you strike at their heel."
Satan hates Jesus and Mary with a deadly hatred. Satan, the Father of lies had his revenge in the 16th century in the Protestant Reformation.
The Blessed Virgin Mary was held in reverence by the Apostles and disciples in the earliest Christian communities. That may be why so little was said about her in the Gospels. In His mighty, merciful and mysterious Providence, it pleased God to keep Mary hidden for most of her 60 years on earth.
The Mother of Emmanuel was the only person who knew Jesus from womb to tomb. She was always there in the most important moments in the life of Jesus:
* Annunciation.
* Visitation to Elizabeth and Zachary.
* Birth of Jesus in the Manger.
* Visit of the Magi, the 3 kings.
* Presentation in the Temple and the encounter with the Prophet and Prophetess Simeon and Anna.
* The Via Dolorosa (Way of the Cross).
* The Sacrifice of the Lamb of God at Calvary when it pleased the Father to make the Mother of His Son, our Mother through John the Evangelist.
* The Birth of the Church on Pentecost Sunday.
Mary was faithfully there in all the great moments! Accident or Providence? Mary's role in salvation history was planned by the Most Holy Trinity before the beginning of the world.
It is with great joy that we honor Mary on her Birthday. Happy Birthday Mother. We your children love you very much. We join all the generations that have called you blessed to hail you:
Holy Mary full of grace, the fruit of your womb, Jesus is blessed forever! 🌹🌹🌹🎂❤️

[NINTH DAY]
November 16- Feast Day 🌻🌺🌼🌷🌹
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Dear Lord, we thank You for giving us St. Gertrude the Great as an example of holiness.
Help us to imitate the love of You she showed in her life of service to You and Your Church.
St. Gertrude the Great, you chose to become a Benedictine nun as a young woman.
When you began having mystical visions at age twenty-five, you delved even more deeply into a life of holiness and prayer.
Please bring my petitions before God Whom you served so devotedly!
You spent the rest of your life doing all you could to grow in your relationship with God and to bring others to Him.
You never ceased seeking to serve God and His Church to the best of your ability.
Pray for me, that I may always seek to serve God and His Church in every way I am able.
Pray that I may do all I can to serve God as He calls me to.
Please also pray for
(mention your intentions).
St. Gertrude the Great, pray for us!
#Antiphon:
Lord Jesus! in union with that love which drew Thee down upon earth, and caused Thee to fulfill the work of our Redemption,
I offer Thee this prayer.
Lord, have mercy.
Lord, have mercy.
Christ, have mercy.
Christ, have mercy.
Lord, have mercy.
Lord, have mercy.
Christ, hear us.
Christ, graciously hear us.
God, the Father of Heaven,
Have mercy on us.
God, the Son, Redeemer of the world,
Have mercy on us.
God, the Holy Ghost,
Have mercy on us.
Holy Trinity, one God,
Have mercy on us.
Holy Mary,
* <Pray for us.>
All ye holy Choirs of Angels, *
All ye Saints and Elect of God, *
Saint Gertrude, *
Thou chaste virgin, *
Thou beloved daughter of the Heavenly Father, *
Thou chosen bride of Jesus Christ, *
Thou temple of the Holy Ghost, *
Thou joy of the Holy Trinity, *
Thou fragrant flower in the hand of Jesus Christ, *
Thou ever-blooming spring flower, *
Thou rose without thorns, *
Thou chaste dove without the stain of sin, *
Thou earthly seraph, *
Thou living sanctuary, *
Thou strong protection of all who venerate thee, *
Jesus Christ, Spouse of Saint Gertrude,
** <Have mercy on us.>
Through her humility, **
Through her charity,
**
Through her untiring patience, **
Through the ardent love she bore Thee, **
Through the delight with which Thou didst dwell in her heart, **
Through the love Thou hast for her, **
Through the love with which Thou hast chosen her from eternity, **
Through the love with which Thou didst so sweetly attract her to Thyself, **
Through the love with which Thou so delightfully didst unite her to Thyself, **
Through the love with which Thou so complacently dwelt in her heart, **
Through the love with which Thou didst end her life with a happy death, **
Through the love with which Thou hast conferred on her eternal life, **
Through the love with which Thou lovest and rejoicest all the Blessed, **
Jesus Christ, **
Lamb of God, Who takest away the sins of the world:
Spare us, O Lord.
Lamb of God, Who takest away the sins of the world:
Graciously hear us, O Lord.
Lamb of God, Who takest away the sins of the world:
Have mercy on us.
Pray for us, O Holy Virgin Saint Gertrude:
That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Let us pray.
O Lord Jesus, by the love Thou didst bear to the virginal heart of Saint Gertrude and by which Thou hast promised that no sinner, who would honor and love her, should die a sudden and unprovided death: grant me, I beseech Thee, this grace and let me so love Thee and repent of my sins, that with faith and confidence I may expect a happy death.
O God, Who in the heart of the holy virgin Gertrude didst provide for Thyself a pleasing abode: through her merits, do Thou cleanse from our hearts every stain of sin and grant that we may enjoy fellowship with her for evermore.
Through Our Lord Jesus Christ Thy Son, Who liveth and reigneth with Thee and the Holy Ghost, one God, world without end.
Amen.
[Novena to St. Gertrude]
O Blessed St. Gertrude! permit us to choose thee as a perfect model of those virtues which God requires, especially from all religious, that assisted by thy prayers, we may correspond with the grace of our vocation.
O Seraphic Spouse of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, thou didst early select that adorable Sanctuary for thy dwelling and refuge.
There thy angelic soul was purified, and raised by sublime contemplation to an intimate union with thy Divine Spouse.
In that furnace of Eternal Love, where thy heart was consumed and all thy sacrifices rewarded, thou didst enjoy a foretaste of Paradise and such sweet consolations as seemed rather the portion of the blessed in Heaven, than the elect on Earth!
O favorite of Heaven! well didst thou feel how sweet it is to serve God, despising the World!
O teach us, what thou didst so perfectly practice, that holy poverty of spirit, that perfect obedience and that ardent devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which sanctified thee on Earth, and now glorifies thee in Heaven.
Present us now, dear Saint and our earnest petition to Jesus and ask Him to unite us in life and death to His Adorable Heart.
Who with the Father, liveth and reigneth in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, world without end.
Amen.
[Prayer of Saint Gertrude the Great
for the Souls in Purgatory (said to release 1000 souls)]
Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the Universal Church, those in my own home and within my family.
Amen.

Lord, you have signed your servant Rita with the marks of Your love and Passion.
Leader: Let us pray.
O God, Who bestowed on St. Rita such grace that she loved her enemies, and bore in her heart and on her forehead the mark of Your love and Passion, grant us, we beseech You, through her merits and intercession, a love for our enemies.
Through our contemplation of Your sufferings and Passion, may we merit the reward promised to the meek and the suffering.
You live and reign forever.
All: Amen.

#Closing
Leader: Let us pray.
All: Heavenly Father!
In Your infinite love and mercy, You heed the prayer of Your beloved servant, Rita.
You graciously grant favors through her intercession, which are considered impossible to human skill and effort.
Relying on her compassionate love, we ask You to assist us in our trials and difficulties.
Let unbelievers know that you are the helper of the humble, the defender of the weak and the strength of those who trust in You.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
