you guys don’t understand how much platonic jegulus means to me, like yes romantically they’re perfect they’re beautiful they’re so compelling yada yada yada but there’s something about platonic jegulus?
there’s something about their friendly banter, about regulus rolling his eyes at james and calling him out on his shit, about james being a safe space for regulus to open up to, about them both teaming up against sirius, teasing him and bullying him, about them existing in each other’s space so easily because they start hanging out every time sirius’ out with remus and that friendship just happens naturally
give me james and regulus making jabs at each other, give me james complaining about a new crush and regulus making fun of him, give me james judge every single guy regulus dates and finish his arguments with “sirius would agree with me” and regulus rolling his eyes bc obviously that’s his brother, give me jegulus bonding over weird shit and sirius watching those interactions with astonishment and fondness, give me james wanting to tear out his hair because his two best friends are brothers and they’re a pain in the ass especially when they fight, give me regulus being a little shit and ask james who’s his favorite black brother, give me platonic jegulus and I will give you my life basically

question: do ppl ACTUALLY say things they don’t mean when they’re angry? or is that just an excuse after letting something true slip? i wouldn’t ever say something i don’t mean in anger, so the concept confuses me.
but something was said to me that is bothering me, though apparently was said in an argument and wasn’t meant. but i don’t rlly believe it wasn’t like, deep down true thoughts/feelings??? anyone have any insight? anyone say things they don’t mean in anger?
EDIT: this was a hastily worded post that i didn’t expect to get notes. this is a genuine question asked in good faith that i got a lot of amazing answers to!
also re: the many ppl saying “OP is lying about not saying things they don’t mean in anger because everyone does it”— i genuinely have never done that. if i say something mean while angry, i meant it. that’s literally why i asked this question and why the concept confuses me, because i wouldn’t do something like that so i wanted perspective from people who do it. idk why y’all can’t believe that lmao not everyone is as prone to anger and outbursts

“We wanted to make it clear that Tashi was in charge,” says Guadagnino. “And that she knew in advance what was underneath [the two men’s friendship], and she pulled it out in order to manipulate and hold them, but also to release them and herself.” It’s a scene that sets the erotic energy that powers the rest of the movie. “The only person that brings out that real fire from both Art and Tashi is Patrick.” Says Zendaya. “And it drives them fucking crazy.” — challengers cast for empire magazine

It irritates me alot when people say that making medic more compassionate is ''missing the point of his character'' when he is literally shown to be in the comics.... did you miss the part where he showed concern for both sniper and miss pauling's well being in comic 5 and 6.
His actions are a combination of genuine attachment + clinical interest and these things do not cancel out one another. He is always pushing boundaries and going against the grain and i think this is what led to him losing his license in the first place. He felt stifled by the rules imposed on him.
He is shown to be extremely passionate so it makes sense that he would use his endless fascination with medicine as a way to show his affection. He loves his friends so he will find a way to make them borderline indestructible. Malpractice is his love language.
