Saw a video interviewing a self proclaimed incel, he spoke of how scared he was of false rape charges or false assault charges, he believed a woman will likely beat herself up just to press charges, and that is heartbreaking to me. The shitty community he got lured into has made him absolutely terrified to approach women, he's been given no resources on interacting with women, he calls his interviewer a Chad for approaching a women to take part in the interview but he doesn't say it in a hateful way, it's just what he genuinely believes.

It just makes me so sad that there are genuinely good men who are brainwashed, whose only experience talking about women is fear mongering and objectification. He sounded so scared that women were out to get him because people on the internet told him so.

You can be wary of men, we have good reason to be wary of men, but it has to come from a place of compassion still, we have to acknowledge that while yes, we should be wary of men, it's the system that's made them this way, it's the toxic online culture, the fear mongering. Realising that they didn't deserve whatever happened to them to make them this way is important to changing things.

It's not our job to fix this, and we can't excuse their actions, but it is our job to remember that men deserve just as much tenderness and love as women do and just keeping that in mind can make the world a better place, bit by bit.

Don't take shit from men who have hurt you or others, but approach it with the knowledge that they used to be a normal little boy and something took them and twisted them without them realising it.

People don't turn bad for no reason. The reason is most often that they've suffered abuse and trauma.

i have JUST now remembered the existence of a worm fanfiction (technically, worm/witcher crossover fanfiction, but it can be read with no knowledge of the witcher) that places a fair amount of importance on medieval textiles and their role in society. (They're instrumental to at least one plot beat.) It's unfinished, and idk how correct the textile info is since I know little about textiles myself, but it's really good, especially if you enjoy fantasy - and it's a great exploration of Taylor's early-series psyche. Wolfspider by Sengachi on AO3. If that appeals to you, I'd very much recommend it for after you finish Worm :D
