After Neo Agent 3 defeated Octavio in the crater, he had completely disappeared.

In all honesty the Agent had forgotten about the DJ. He never showed up at any of the Alternan islands. Honestly it was impressive how such a big octopus could vanish without a trace. When Octavio had appeared again in the fight against the bear, the Agent didn't get a chance to glance at him. It was only when they landed back on Earth did they notice the fuzz that was smeared across half of his body. Before they could say anything, the DJ shooed them away as he scuttled to one of the storage crates that scattered the landscape. What a weird guy. When Neo 3 returned to the NEW New Squidbeak Splatoon base, they instantly got bodied with questions from Agent 1 as she shook them back and fourth by the shoulders. With a Dizziness growing in their head, they pointed towards the crate. A large thud emanated from the rectangular vessel when they did, what comical timing. DJ Octavio was in there, and something had happened.

When Callie opened the crate doors, she wouldn't have recognized the Octoling that was sprawled across the ground if she didn't recognize Royal Octarian Emblem that was clearly pinned to the old man's clothes.

Erm.... what the scallop.....

I'll probably make a proper reference sheet for him soonish since there's a lot about him that are not pictured here, but this was sitting in my files begging to be posted so! Here yall go!

This whole thing is inspired by Octavio getting completely BODIED by fuzzy ooze when the crater caves in. Unfortunately i do NOT think he would be able to walk that off scott free

Yes I have a reason why he is no longer perma-swim form, yes I have a reason for his different eyeball, and yes I have a reason for only one of his hands being stained Wasabi green. I'll get around to explaining things--most likely in that aforementioned reference sheet post.

Imagine if Callie had won Splatoon’s final splatfest. How different do you think the Squid Sisters' storylines would've been with this role swap due to their contrasting personalities? Also, would Callie have a podcast while Marie took on acting, or would it stay the same in this alternate timeline?

I always felt like the idea of an "evil Marie" was a cool concept. I feel like Marie going through a corruption arc makes sense for her character/personality and it's such a raw idea. Like the fan art of "Hypno Marie" as people dub her is INSANE! IT'S SO GOOD! People give her crazy outfits it's awesome.

In terms of story and what differences there would be. I feel like the Squid Sisters slowly breaking apart still happens and Marie is constantly overthinking her relationship with Callie after the final Splatfest. Maybe Marie has taken up modelling and acting while Callie is busy with blogging and podcasting. Marie is a heavy introvert and all of that insane attention would cause her to snap and run away from it all. And that's where she meets Octavio at some point.

Now, unlike Callie, Marie seems to have something against the Octarians and has adopted some of the viewpoints from her grandpa judging from her dialogue in Splatoon 1 and 2. BUT! This could just bad translation and maybe Marie doesn't hate the Octarians in the Japanese version as I've heard some people say but, I'm not too sure. I need to look into it more. I'm not a Marie expert, I'm a Callie expert lmao.

Maybe Marie doesn't trust Octavio and doesn't want to go with him to Octo Canyon at first, but maybe after some convincing and manipulation, she goes with him and sees that the Octarians are struggling. Maybe she's like "oh i didn't know your people were struggling, i had no idea, maybe i was wrong about them... I'll help you out."

Instead of Hypnoshades she gets a... uh... hypno gas mask idfk, and she breathes in this air that relaxes her and ensures that she doesn't suddenly change her mind and run away at random.

Callie taking up the role of teaching and guiding Agent 4 would be a very fun dynamic and maybe she's more vocal about Marie being missing and doesn't hide it unlike how Marie doesn't talk that much about Callie until sector 4.

Maybe Callie feels guilt and shame and she thinks that she was the one who caused Marie to go missing and we see that in side dialogue or something.

The final boss would be the same except the music is in reverse, so we get a Tide Goes Out remix and Callie is the one who sounds like she's about to cry when singing Tidal Rush while Marie is fighting back. That would be such a cool remix of Tidal Rush not gonna lie.

And then Callie throws a splat bomb at Marie's face to destroy the mask so she can snap out of hypnosis and Callie plays the Calamari Inkantation after a bit, blah blah blah. You know what happens.

Those were some ideas i had, i would love Splatoon to do an evil Marie at some point, but, I'm guessing that won't happen because Marie has already matured and grown and it wouldn't make sense to do it at this point. Oh well! At least we got fan art and fanfiction.

I was thinking about this while trying to sleep last night and figured I could share my thoughts on this topic- but I should preface this by saying while I love Callie a lot I am in no way a Callie expert and that this is just my personal understanding of the whole hypndoshades ordeal. (And also I just wanted to write/ramble about something honestly lol)

So to begin- Callie 100% went to the Octarians by her own choice, she went to them willingly sometime just before Splat2. After the Squid Sister splatfest she and Marie went on to expand their solo careers and such as said in game, but the pressure of constantly being in the spotlight started to get to Callie, especially after she was publicly declared as being lesser than her cousin. She needed some sense of escape and she went to the only ones who she felt could understand that feeling... The Octarians. It does seem like Callie at least enjoyed her time there, she decorated the canyon, redesigned the soldiers outfits and probably uplifted the overall mood of the Octarians. Be that before or after the shades I don't know- But I think at some point Octavio realised that Callie would leave and go home, leaving them. I think that's what spawned the hypnoshades- he used them not to kidnap her out right but as a way to convince her to stay, not wanting to lose what had basically become a light in the dark for his people. The shades do seem to make Callie act a bit different but I don't think they're programmed to make her personality different, I've always viewed it as if the shades gave her this- sense of freedom, that she can say and act how she wishes just maybe slightly exaggerated by the shades. Now of course Marie was able to hit the shades off Callie's face which "returned her to normal" and tbf by Splat3 it seems like Callie has worked through her issues, slowly making her way back into the public eye solo.

Now this part- is all just complete headcanon and tied to my own Agents/NSS lore but I wanted to share some of it as well lol- While I get the game making Callie put the shades back on because "they look cool" as a way to add her back to the boss fight was well that- literally just a way to add her back to the fight- I personally think she did in fact put those shades back on. She put them back on again and again as an unhealthy coping mechanism, to return to that sense of escape from her very public life. Marie "snapping her out of it" did not fix the issues she had and so Marie (And Agent 4) fought Callie and Octavio again and again- each time Marie hitting Callie in the face with low tide ink. Low tide ink is probably a very dense and generally harmless type of ink but even with that constant exposure would have to leave a mark right? (This is the reason I tend to draw Callie with the green eye scar.) I think gaining this scar over time would snap some sense into Callie- finally realising just how- dangerous and mentally unhealthy her constant use of the shades are, it would be difficult but she realises that she needs to seek proper help or the cycle won't end no matter how hard Marie and Four try.

So apparently Captain (Agent 3) has a secret gig as an underground DJ called “DJ Sango” who is popular and did an epic rap battle with Marina. How would the Agents, Idols, Four and Acht react if they found out that Captain was secretly DJ Sango? And how would Captain react to them figuring out her big secret? (For an added bonus I’m gonna say that Acht admires her musical talent and has a celebrity crush on DJ Sango)

Okay I got really excited about this ask because I learned about the existence of the Low Water Party (the rave that DJ Sango and Marina’s DJ battle happened at) at few weeks ago and I have not stopped thinking about it since.  

Pearl and Marina probably already knew about Captain’s secret, since Marina was the one doing the DJ battle with her, and Pearl was at the same rave doing a rap battle with Cuttlefish. I’m going to say Callie already knew as well since she also performed at the rave, along with Octavio (which is a piece of canon lore that I am freaking out over by the way). However Marie, Shiver, Frye, and Big Man had no idea about Captain’s DJ persona. Marie is surprised both to find out that Captain can DJ and the fact that Callie went to the rave where she DJed at and didn’t tell her. Shiver thinks it’s cool, but also insists on Deep Cut being invited to perform at the next Low Water Party. Frye only uses it as an excuse to tease Captain, seeing as now she may be a threat to Deep Cut’s music career. Big Man is really impressed that Captain not only knows how to DJ, but that they were able to keep it up for 8 hours in her battle with Marina. 

Eight is just mad that he wasn’t informed of the fact that this rave had happened, since he would have loved to go. He insists on hearing Captain DJ the moment he finds out because he wants to hear how good she is. Neo just thinks it’s super cool. It wants to learn how to DJ from Captain, and constantly pesters them to teach it. Four loves it. They kind of tease Captain about her DJing career, but they’re also super impressed. 

Acht definitely had a celebrity crush on DJ Sango before realizing she was Captain. They were at the Low Water Party as well, despite never appearing on stage and still being sanitized then. Though they didn’t really have emotion when they first saw DJ Sango, once they got into the Memverse and started thinking about it more was when their celebrity crush started. Four even supported it before learning DJ Sango is Captain. After finding out, Acht drops the celebrity crush because it’s gotten very very awkward. 

Captain is horrified that they’ve all found out. She intended to keep her persona as DJ Sango a secret forever. She didn’t like that Pearl, Marina, and Callie knew, and now everyone does. Although she does enjoy the attention, even though she’d never admit it.

So. With Final Fest coming up next month, what team do you think the Splatoon villains would be on?

I’m personally betting on Tartar being Team Past because he’s constantly monologuing about the past and wanting to bring back humans so Team Past feels perfect for him.

One of the last things Mr. Grizz says before being defeated is, ‘Moving forward is the future’, or something like that so…Team Future for him probably.

I don’t particularly know about DJ Octavio or Smollusk but from what little I do know, Team Present seems fitting.

Avatar Peach AU Introductory Post 1

(Information that is crossed out is info that isn't my known to most/some other characters in the AU).

Since I've started making my crossover fic that includes my au I've been thinking that I probably need a explanation post of the au and it's characters, so here this is!

(Crossover Fanfic Below)

The Avatar Peach AU is an SMG4 AU which replaces Mario as the avatar with Peach, following her adventures as a royal princess.

In this AU's 'real world', The Mario Franchise never existed and is replaced with 'Princess Peach's Royal Duties', an open world task simulator that lets you play as Princess Peach herself, doing her daily duties, not being kidnapped, developing relationships etc.

Main Characters/Cast

Princess 'Peach' Toadstool

Peach is a childish, bratty and vain princess who only really thinks about herself. She constantly seeks to be the centre of attention all the time and doesn't understand when it's time to stop.

Even with all her flaws though, she does care about people though in her own way. She loves to shower the people she deems worthy with gifts and titles, with no thought what-so-ever. If she loves you though, your set for life. Money? Power? You name it, it's yours. You'll just have to hope you want her back.

With her being a princess though, she doesn't do her job very well and has two royal advisors to help her (or do her job for her).

Pear ? (aka SMG9)

Pear is one of Peach's Royal Advisors, working for her for the longest amount of time that he's even forgot. By working for her the longest, he knows her inside out and because of that, his other role (though unofficial) is being her babysitter. Pear can often been seen trying to keep her in check and doing her duties for her (that she neglects).

Due to all this work, he's become extremely tired, easily annoyed and serious all the time, not wanting to deal with Peach's antics 24/7. He's also very secretive and nothing is known about his life before Peach. If he isn't doing his job though, he is in his room, making memes doing something not even Peach knows about.

Though he's very reclusive, he's extremely polite to people who he cares about opinions of him (mainly other royalty).

Ochi Alternia

Ochi is Peach's newest Royal Advisor and is always ready to lend a hand. Though she's very shy and over-apologetic, she is a chatterbox and is extremely curious about the people around her.

Just over 19, she's had quite the life so far. Born and raised in Inkadia, she was a child soldier and engineer for King Octavio's Army. Until one day, she heard a special song while fighting a certain agent which freed her from her mind control.

After experiencing having to escape to the surface and fighting a AI telephone, she tried to find her place in the world and arrived at the Mushroom Kingdom. This was were she was given the job of becoming Peach's Royal Advisor by the Princess herself. Forever in debt to Peach, Ochi is much kinder to the Princess than Pear is.

Due to her life experience, she has a vast knowledge of geography and for some reason, machinery and warfare. If you ever want to pass the time, just ask her the history of war and you'll waste 5 hours in no time.

Mario Mario

Mario is the hero of the Mushroom Kingdom and the main target of affection from Peach. Though he doesn't any more hold romantic feelings for the princess anymore, he has just learned to accept that Peach might forever see him that way and just goes along with whatever she does.

He also still rescues Peach whenever she's kidnapped and still enjoys her company, being dragged along on adventures with her advisors most of the time.

He's also a man of many jobs, always one to help out someone in need. While being extremely friendly and supportive, he does struggle with a hero complex as he feels like he needs to be up to everybody's standard all the time and can be quite self-sacrificial.

He also sees the best in people, even villains, which doesn't help with the fact he's often oblivious to people who are clearly evil.

OCTAVIOS. he’s the type to initiate it, but nothing too chaste! Innocent kisses and hand holding makes him nervous, as he does have a reputation to uphold… so often physical affections in public remain promiscuous.

CAELUM. no, absolutely not. He’s the type to throw a pouting fit if you do it in front of people, even worse if you do it in front of important figures..!

MIKHAIL. oh he loves it. It makes him feel loved, and makes everyone else know that he is loved. Everyone shut up! His beloved is kissing him. He needs absolute silence for this!!!

What qualities does your OC most value in a friend? Loyalty? Shared sense of humor? Or something else?

OCTAVIOS. Respect for privacy. If you can’t respect his boundaries and what he doesn’t wish to tell or show, you’re out.

CAELUM. Honesty. As someone who is constantly sucked up too, or lied about, he values someone who can tell him how it is, what he needs to work on, etc).

MIKHAIL. Loyalty, absolutely loyalty all the way. If you aren’t loyal to him, then he has no need for you. Loyalty is what he values the most overall.

Is your OC particularly skilled at flirting? Have they had to practice this or does it just happen naturally?

OCTAVIOS. He’s a natural at seduction, fuck he does it by accident at clubs and parties. He’s an absolute incubus!

CAELUM. He practices in front of a mirror… and still somehow ends up fumbling… he’s just not made for it, the poor guy!

MIKHAIL. He’s a natural with sweet words! But execution is a different story… he’s not so good at that part.

How does your OC feel about one night stands? Have they ever enjoyed a night of passionate romance with a stranger? Is this something they are quite keen on recreationally? Or only something they might engage in under specific circumstances (such as the eve of a battle or after a difficult breakup)?

OCTAVIOS. Octavios has a one night stand every second day atp, sex is one of his stress relievers so its quite often he’s caught fucking around (literally).

CAELUM. not at ALL! He’s the type to wait until marriage before engaging in physical romance. He has extreme sexual insecurity

MIKHAIL. not so often, he only really does it if he gets something good out of it. It’s more of a manipulation technique than anything else.

What seduction techniques are most likely to be effective when it comes to your OC? Are there some things guaranteed to get them going? Or are they immune to such things?

OCTAVIOS. really fucked, but a good chase gets him going. Positions on where the other is weaker , or at a disadvantage really makes his stomach stir! This is a general turn on really.

CAELUM. oh he’s so easy to get going it's kind of embarrassing… adjust yourself on his lap or kiss him in the right spot and he’s already asking to leave and recollect himself.

MIKHAIL. Mikhail's sex drive is at an all time low, it is pretty much impossible to turn him on, your best bet is to avoid the seduction and just get straight to the point.

Which of your OC's qualities makes them the most proud? Do they think more people should be like them in this regard? Or do they quite like being rare in possessing it?

OCTAVIOS. A sense of justice. He dislikes this part of humanity, as their drive of justice is very skewered, they’d send anyone off to their death just because they look funny and octavios surprisingly enough doesn’t believe in this.

MIKHAIL. his apathy. He doesn’t realize what is wrong with it, but he believes that being hung up on things and people are weak and drag you down. He’s a hypocrite though, because he also cares far too much, despite believing otherwise.

Hii I just saw this tag "#btw I’m still on the fence on octavio elisabeth and professor wolf all being basically thorn with a twist" -- If you don't want to talk about it, please ignore this message! I just also happen to think about it that way, except I personally like it! Like, I think it's a game of mirrors :) She goes into Babel looking for Thorn and she keeps finding these distorted versions of him -- and of herself too, with Blasius and Mediana... and Elizabeth, of course! Elizabeth is so much fun to me because I do think her first impression is that of a mirror of Thorn, but instead as I read I came to see her as way more of that for Ophélie (which she turns out to be in a very literal sense ofc😁)!

I'm honestly not sure if it's intentional or not -- I have given little credit to C.D. for stuff in her books that turned out to be entirely intentional (per interviews), so... who knows... But I think it's fun that in book 3 she's kind of lost in a symbolic mirror maze, only to get literally stuck in one as punishment at the end of the book ashdfjhfkg

...oh my God, I can't believe I haven't made the connection between the symbolic/actual mirror maze, that's a pretty good proof of it all being intentional! And actually my very first impression on my first read was that all these people were mostly means to the end of Ophélie reaching her big self-realization; but on this second time I thought "wait, what if I'm reading too much into it?". I also keep constantly understimating this series (big diehard prejudice against YA, unfortunately) and it keeps outdoing itself.

Question: how do you think Mediana parallels Ophélie? Because she's the only one I couldn’t fit into the mirror scheme.

The main one I work with, pretty self explanatory (though not the very first batch of agents I’ve made)

AU-01: FC3 (Summer/“Sunny”), F4 (Ember), F8 (Saturn), MN3 (Rook)

Second most used batch. Sort of a gender and personality swap, with Sunny being more extroverted (but much, much more creepy looking), Ember being actually cool instead of faking it, Saturn being less… feral?.. and Rook constantly questioning the whole Secret Child Labor Service Thing instead just rolling with it like Bea does.

AU-02: F3 (Three), M4 (Four), M8 (Eight)

The first ever batch. Didn’t make it very far though…

Their dynamic was mostly Four getting into trouble, Three getting mad at Four getting in trouble while trying to put out whatever fire he started, and Eights there just vibing in the background or something. I think Three and Four were siblings…

AU-03: M3 (Tres), F4 (Quatre), M8 (Vosem)

The second ever batch. Lasted a teensy bit longer. Tres is a little hotheaded but it’s mainly to cover up insecurity and fears of not being “worthy” or “good enough” for Squidbeak (which leads to some… very bad coping mechanisms/strategies to be good enough). Quatre is the type to have a smaller smug look under the smug look on her face. Also she makes a majority of her income through art commissions and writes a bunch of fanfic. Vosem tries to come off as aloof and put together but is “secretly” a little obsessed with Tres. Not like in a stalker way, just always thinking about him and hanging out with him and leaving food in his backpack when Tres “forgets” (this has led to Tres being very confused because “who puts 7 oranges and an unwrapped sandwich in someone else’s backpack?!?!”)

AU-04: M?3 (Three), M4 (Liam), M8 (The Commander)

The bad end, essentially. Three (prev. Hyousuke) gets re-corrupted by Tartar and loses (almost) all of his memories, becoming a husk that only does anything when The Commander tells them to. The Commander is formed when Tartar uses Milo as a host body, but due to Milo’s Special Soul Gimmick, he essentially takes Tartar down with him and they fuse into one conscious. There is no Tartar. There is no Milo. All that’s left behind is a manic cyborg that wants to “reunite”/sanitize Squidbeak (they disbanded after losing so many members) and get Three to “wake up.” Liam was struck with grief and went into a horrible depression due to it all and Octavio tried to help him by making new Hypnoshades that would act like an advanced antidepressant. Cuttlefish, Marie, and Callie are with Octavio too, hiding until they can make a plan to get their friends (and Inkopolis Square) back. Off the hook… off forming a rebellion to fight back. Oh and I should probably mention that Three is talking to Liam through his headset and shades and maybe watching him through any other tech in Liam’s vicinity.

AU-05: M[UNKNOWN] (Three), M4 (Liam), M8 (Eros)

(Same Liam technically different Three and technically different Eight)

Sort of a role swap between my one splatband oc Etto and Hyousuke. Essentially, Squidbeak believed that Hyou… “didn’t make it out” of the metro, but when Liam and Eros split up on a recon mission down there a few years later.

Let’s just say Eros finds him.

AU-06: M3/10 (Déka), M4 (Luke), M8/C3 (Apollo), NBN3 (Zip)

(Usual 3 base becomes Agent Ten, usual 8 base becomes Captain, Four is an octoling)

What if the Octos won? Cuttlefish would probably go complete villain mode ngl. His flaws are bad sometimes but make it worse.

Octavio, who’s not even king anymore as he passed the responsibilities to others (gotta spend time with the grandkids, you know?), starts noticing reports of octos getting attacked around town and decides hey, I’ve already got military experience so let’s do some quick vigilante stuff and hire a team.

Story would pretty much be the same from then on. Maybe instead of the Squid Sisters there’s another band with ties to Octavio, but I definitely imagine the original idols becoming high ranking, vicious generals (Callie would def defect later tho)

AU-07: FC3 (Haru), F4 (Liana), F8 (Mia), MN3 (Beau)

Genderswap, except practically nothing changes design wise. You would never know

AU-08: MC3 (Hyou), M4 (Liam), M8 (Milo), FN3 (Bea)

AKA No Metro Milo. Just. Just imagine a Shadow version of Milo and that’s it.

This isn’t what he’d be like with his memories… well… sorta.. he has some but trauma repressed the rest

Okaysssssss Mooty

Basically the whole villain 4 stuff happens because Callie dies in Splat 2. Marie's low tide ink doesn't work, and agent 4 ends up using g the rainmaker, which really fucks up octavios robot...a bit too much... it explodes, and Callie ends up dieing in Fours arms.

Everyone's sad, and it hits Four the hardest. She believes that it's her fault entirely, and she quits the NSS. She eventually starts doing Grizzco jobs to distract herself. She realizes that "Ah fuck, this is like, genocide or whatever because this is a sentient species and all that." But continues anyways. She eventually makes her way up to the upperanks and meets Mr. Grizz (either through promotions or a some kinda coincidence or whatever). After a special interview, Grizz is like "wanna help me bring back Mammals? You seem like you hate the world." And Alex (4) is like "yeah. Yeah this world fucking sucks. We're obsessed with fashion, world ending threats happen every day, whole species is trapped underground, YOU'RE literally running a genocide company...fuck it, why not? I hate everyone." And they decide to help grizz with his mission.

O.E happens at the same time as this, and it plays out as it does in the games. Eight moves in with Alex, and she shows her around inkopolis and how to live in the city. Eight can practically taste all the nihilism and edge coming from her, but she sees the kindness and joy in her, and wants to pry it out of the shell of hopelessness.

Molly (3) also becomes friends with Alex, and gets a bit closer to her than 8 does. But the still has a shell up, and they still try to break through...

But before they can do that, the world tour happens! And she goes with Pearl and Marina. Alex also takes part in the memverse, with a piece of her soul getting trapped just like the game.

Now, return of the mammalians is going on, and it's all the same, except there is no Mr. Grizz...instead, there's a masked inkling that's at the top of the tower!!! Neo is able to hold them off until Cap (3) gets there, and they run away. In the end, they're able to stop the rocket from launching in the first place and they destroy it.

S.O starts more towards the end of ROTM, and ends well after it. And when 8 gets out, she can't find anyone belonging to the NSS. They've disappeared. She finds clues to go into the Grizzco headquarters. When she gets there, she finds Alex, having captured everyone in the NSS. Marie, Craig, Molly, and Neo are all tied up. Theyre all very bruised and beaten up too. There's also a big plush doll thing of Callie. Button eyes and everything.

Alex is fucking insane right now. They're all cocky and are acting like a typical Villain type. (Think Will Wood's "Main character" for this...thats...honestly what this entire thing spawned from...) and they fight eachother. There are MANY fuzzy octolings that they're fighting as well, and Alex is very dodgy and swift with fighting. It's revealed that their plan is to cover the world with fuzzy ooze with like, 12 rockets. The one in alterna was a test one.

Alex at this point has completely given up on everything, and thinks of herself as a "hero" in a twisted way. She's saving the world by destroying it, a big reset on everyone. Alex is all cocky and shit too, and is constantly talking and mocking them all. 8 eventually frees them all, but She's out if commission for a bit, and Molly steps up to take on Alex. Alex, frustrated with not being able to beat 8, has an idea. They basically Inject fuzzy ooze directly into herself, and gains claws, sharp teeth, heightend senses, she becomes digitigrade, and is stronger overall.

Now...there are 2 ways that this story goes........

""BAD"" ENDING

Molly and Alex fight, it's intense, and Molly is struggling. Alex is screaming and yelling shit like "YOU WERE ALWAYS THE BETTER AGENT WERENT YOU?!?! HUH!?!? LOOK AT YOU KNOW!!!! CANT EVEN STAND UP TO AN INFERIOUR AGENT" and "COME ON "LIVING TSUNAMI"! COME SPLAT ME!!!"

and Molly is like "...fuck dude...I really wish I talked to you more...man I Hate seeing you like this.. please...you were never the worst...why did this happen" in their head.

It ends up with Alex getting a chainsaw, and tackling Molly to the ground. She trys to push it into them, and manages to really fuck up their arm a bit, but Molly gets the strength to push it back...and gets Alex right in the neck...

She lives for a single second, with a smile on their face...and a single tear running down their face...

Molly and 8 now have double trauma. Yaaaaay!!!!!!!

Marie has even more trauma to!!!!!!

All of them do!!!!!

They stop grizzco, but they're not in that good of a mood for celebration...

(Also, I say "bad" ending because it's, like, a negative ending more like. A non-ideal ending really. I don't like "good" and "bad" endings or whatever...)

"GOOD" ENDING

Same shit happens, except Alex ends up breaking down more in the middle of the fight. She says more stuff that's more like her telling the truth about how she feels, instead of just taunting. At one point, Molly tackles her into a hug and says "Alex, it wasn't your fault! Inkopolis wouldve been attacked if you didn't stop them! Please! Callie wouldnt be mad at you!!!"

Alex breaks out, and they fight some more. Three's arm still gets fucked up, but Alex drops the chainsaw, and she dosent die!!! Yay :D!!!!!!

But she's got so much bottled up and fucked up trauma that they become physically ill afterwards. They beet grizz, and Fours recovery starts.

her name is Kelp and she's an octoling that reeeeeally wanted to be an elite octoling before she got Agent 3'd into the deepsea metro, got lost, saved inkopolis and then never went back because she did not want to explain that she didn't *actually* defect to the squidlings she just so happened to work with their archenemies and a defector to save the world and no she has no proof but believe her really. so she kinda just got stuck on the surface

she also didnt want to backstab pearl and marina after they went through all that to save her from the Metro

she has a complex about living on the surface while everyone else she knows is still trapped underground so she wanders around inkadia and the splatlands because she doesn't feel like she should have the luxuries of things like "a stable power supply" or "a house that doesn't constantly fall on you because it's not a 1000 year old probably-human-nuclear-fallout-bunker"

she has the worlds most dysfunctional relationship with the NSS because she literally and unironically thinks octavio was right so she has a grudge against literally all of them but she hangs out with them anyways because of trauma bonding lmao.

HELLO IM AWAKE NOW HAHAHAH TIME TO ANSWER ..OH GOD OK I WROTE A LOT SO UM. UH- HERE'S A READ MORE THERE YOU GO EVERYTHING IS RIGHT UNDER THERE THERE'S A LOT TO GO THROUGH HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR MEAL!

-Callie and Tikki get along very well! Tikki loves the positivity! But her concern over Callie rises over time because while Callie will never get as lonely as she does between Splatoon 1 and 2 since she's got Tikki there, Tikki notices Callie's reliance on Marie and is worried over what ever may strain the two of them, so she can get a bit bossy over Callie, much to Callie's dismay. On the cuter side of things though, Callie also likes to dress Tikki up in little bows and glitter.

-Marie and Plagg meanwhile do NOT get along, usually. They care a lot about each other at the end of the day but it's usually constant arguing between them and Marie will constantly snark that Callie got the better end of the deal which Plagg will bite her hand and not let go till she takes it back. However, when Plagg serious-es up he really does and seems to know Marie better than she knows herself, so when she's at her most lost, he's there.

-Reverse though! Tikki and Marie get along nicely. It helps that Tikki is so cheerful and that reminds Marie of Callie, however Tikki always wants to have serious conversations with Marie since Callie always avoids those but Marie always finds it weird talking about serious things with a tiny fairy thing since Tikki wants to do it a lot. Callie and Plagg also get along great! She tries and fails at giving him a makeover a lot but he's a bit of a bad influence on her more impulsive actions.

While they initially think its a great idea to swap, the day they do ends in complete disaster of Marie overworking/panicking/overthinking and Callie accidentally dismantling a city block.

-As for Deep Cut! They LOVE their kwamis! And their kwamis love them! They're pampered and spoiled a lot and are never far apart from each other. From order of 'happy to crime' to 'most reluctant to crime' goes Trixx, Pollen, and Nooroo. Deep Cut's reasoning that all their proceeds are going to charity keep the kwami at least somewhat supportive (although trixx would be fine even if it wasn't for good reasoning the guy is a bit mischevious)

-Pavo uses both her own emotions and others when she's hiding somewhere- but if she's going out into town to attack as Pavo she always uses her own emotions which are usually based off of some form of suffering or stress or frustration.

-The Squid Sisters found their miraculouses in their changing rooms! Someone gave it to them secretly (it was Cuttlefish!) and they tried them on immediately just in time for Deep Cut(who got their miraculouses via their clans)'s explosive debut as criminals, whom they stopped and had a cat and mouse game with for a short while until Pavo showed up and started sending real monsters to fight.

-Pearl actually gets her miraculous from the Squid Sisters! They do the like, choose your temporary hero companion for a bit and when Marina gets captured during a villain attack, they help Pearl save her by giving her the goat. As for Marina! I think she'd get it from Octavio somehow I don't know how or why. Octavio didn't use the rabbit miraculous though he never know it was magical just a nice watch.

-Tartar is a skeeeeevy fucking guy and is constantly hovering over Ahato's shoulder. Pressing about her ratings, her success, what she'll do when she's Actually popular. His view is that perfection only exists in his view of it, and with such an insecure DJ on his hands- she's the perfect guinea pig to mold and push around. He keeps Ahato wanting the wish by supporting her dissatisfaction of herself and plans to steal the wish and reset the world in his image. Cause he's a cunt.

He will be punched don't worry.

-OUGH CERISE AND PAVO OKAY SO. I couldn't help myself but there's a BIT of a love square with that but at some point they both moderately crush on both forms of each other. It's sorta a 'fell in love first' and 'fell in love HARD' scenario for the first crush on the first persona and then the second persona. Callie had a silly lil crush on Pavo first ("SHES SO DARK AND MYSTERIOUS" "CALLIE SHES A CRIMINAL" "THATS HOT") but grew invested and tender towards Ahato. Meanwhile, Ahato had a crush on Callie first as she was one of the first people that Ahato felt was truly invested and kind to her and understood her work, but had the gay little "OH. OH." moment over Cerise which made her feel VERY embarrassed over being her nemesis.

-Cerise and Angora are equally beloved though fans constantly fight over who is better (which drives a slight crack between them). Deep Cut are hated by the government, police, and much of the public, though many are actually quite fans and see them as Robin Hood figures for their kindness towards needy civilians. Caprichaos doesn't show up often but she has a pretty punk fan base that adore her while the government don't enjoy her more radical and rough nature and Lapin is bathed in mystery which make many theorists intrigued and most of the public knowing nothing about her to care much.

I actually got a comment that was VERY similar to this!!! Someone (I forgot who) said, "I'm gonna think of cult brainwashing instead of sci-fi brainwashing for callie for my own sanity."

From my knowledge, the term brainwashing has always been this general term to describe mind control plots and shit like that and people use it poorly and wrongly. And THAT'S where my anger comes from. Because people wanna make Callie's arc in Splatoon 2 way worse, more disgusting and less interesting. It's so SOOOOO annoying and disregards any sort of arc that Callie could go through....

The word is either used in cults, or military experiments, or family drama of "you're brainwashing my child!" Or sci fi lazy bullshit where it's just "mind control and you lose all of your autonomy and memories" aka Winter Soldier, Widowmaker, etc. It's such a general term that has a trillion different meanings and it's fucking frustrating as hell.

Because Callie STILL had some amount of agency and autonomy, even with the shades on, she couldn't have been forced to do anything against her will cause of how hypnosis works. She probably felt sorry for the Octarians and wanted to help them willingly because her life beforehand was shitty and she was alone... Octavio probably didn't need to do much to convince her, too, which is kinda sad... She probably doesn't feel regret or pain because, well, she was going through a rough period and she wanted an escape, so the Octarians, in her mind, were the only way out...

However.... I can't see that word the same anymore, and every time that I see it, I ALWAYS think of the bullshit sci-fi definition and people just LOVEEEE TO USE IT AS A CATCH ALL TERM!!!! IT'S REALLY REALLYYYYYY ANNOYING!!!!

YIPPE MY TWO BLORBOS! First lets go Callie! I'm basing 'realistic' as in 'realistic to the tone and lore in canon'

Headcanon A:  realistic - I think Callie has fallen into Fuzzy Ooze an embarrassing amount of times. While Neo is doing the kettles Marie is snipping Callie's newly grown in fur because she looked at a patch of fuzzy ooze too long and fell asleep.

Headcanon B: while it may not be realistic it is hilarious - I think Callie is cat coded. Likes laying on Marie's lap when she's doing taxes, knocking stuff off the table, getting zoomies in the morning. That's why Callie is on team cat.

Headcanon C: heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends - Callie and Marie have a special move where Marie piggyback rides on Callie, Marie using her sniper to take out anyone with range and Callie using the roller to defend Marie from anyone trying to get close, and the fact that Callie's moving constantly negates how Marie would be helpless while charging up a shot. A week or so before Callie's disappearance (due to her movie role requiring a....certain diet) Callie and Marie play turf war for the first time in AGES. When Marie tries jumping on Callie's shoulders for their special move, Callie just collapses. it's only then that Marie really realizes how thin Callie is.

Headcanon D: unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own - not SUPER about Callie, but I think Octavio didn't immediately hypnoshade Callie because she reminded him of Craig. Whether Octavio and Craigs relationship was platonic or romantic, Octavio did miss Craig, and his silly jokes and weird ideas. And then he meets Callie, this squid with her silly jokes and weird ideas. and Mina!!

Headcanon A:  realistic - MINA STIMS! This ones kinda just canon I mean look at how she moves but those movements are absolutely stimming. It's one of the reasons I first latched onto her.

Headcanon B: while it may not be realistic it is hilarious - Mina and Izuku are half siblings. Hisashi cheated on Inko and Mina was the result. I mean, come one! Mina feels like if Izuku had a quirk - and therefore confidence - right from the get go! Attracting friends like moths to a flame (even if they are bullys), standing up for whats right, floofy hair!

Headcanon C: heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends - It is my FIRM opinion that Mina didn't get any offers after the sports festival DESPITE getting farther than several people who did because of anti-mutant discrimination. Actually, I think under that mask of a perfectly happy life, Mina has to deal with tiny microaggressions a LOT. Kirishima never noticed them, little comments about how those horns SOMEHOW are cute, comparing her to various animals - 'which one is she, every mutant is just like SOME animal' - before they settled on blobfish. Mina takes it all with a smile, because people like her and it's not like they MEAN to hurt her!

Headcanon D: unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own - Bakugo, Kirishima, and Mina are the core three members of the Bakusquad. Sero and Kaminari are kinda just add-ons. Mina grabbed Kirishima as a friend and Kirishima grabbed Bakugo and then Kaminari and Sero kinda drifted towards them.

i really want sheldon in side order and i want him to go fucking nuts. like. batshit insane. and i know that this makes no fucking sense but hear me out. since in rotm we had callie marie and octavio, that is three fifths of the characters in octo canyon. since they will most likely not be an to join the journey, assuming 4 is involved, than that just leaves one person. that person being sheldon. as for why i want to see him be unhinged, we know he was neutral for chaos vs order, and we've already seen a little bit of him being fucking deranged peaking through in some of his dialoge relating to certain weapons. what i want is to see more of that. show us sheldon going absolutely apeshit Nintendo. please. i need this. also it would be funny to see pearl and sheldon's dynamic yknow. like. the idea of them interacting would be so fucking funny. like. scrappy, chaotic gal whose voice could deafen the ears of many meets autistic weapon nerd who is, unbeknownst to us, more unhinged than she could ever be. also also that post about the sheldon marina autism-to-autism communication event. sorry for the long ask by the way.

OR even funnier possibility i want Pearl to suggest something insane and then Sheldon agrees with her and shes like "i thought you were a nerd????" and they start to get along. Anyway i just think they would have a funny dynamic. Cuz like in splat 2 we get to see Marie kinda poke fun at Sheldon but we don't really get to see Sheldon annoy anybody back. So imagine him and Pearl just dissing each other constantly but also somehow understanding each other. Like at first Pearl thinks he's a nerd who talks too much but then she realizes he's actually just as deadly if not more so than her. And at first Sheldon thinks she's just some loud, abrasive, and childish inkling. But actually he realizes she is fun to be around and smarter than she looks.

Music Thoughts Part 3

DJ Octavio is back at it again with another remix of his Splatoon 1 theme! However, the name is a little confusing. "I'm Octavio (F34RME Remix)" by DJ Octavio. What the heck is F34RME supposed to mean?

The Splatfest solos have names: Anarchy Poison, with Bird Mix (Shiver), Snake Mix (Frye), and Boar Mix (Big Man). I'm sure there is an important meaning behind these names, but I don't know what it is. However, those are some pretty cool-sounding names!

Grizzco's "Not Bad (Do Better)" is really funnily named. It's the results screen, and Mr. Grizz is constantly saying "Only xx eggs? That's a shame." I find it funny they named the song that lol.

The tutorial theme, "Clickbait (Splash Session Demo)" isn't called Jam Session this time around! That's different.

I wondered about F34RME Remix as well and... well now that i look at it, it clearly just says "FEAR ME". like literally JUST NOW as i looked at it i realized that it's just a visual pun. So I guess that's settled lol.

The splatfest solo names seem to be based on, and this is my 5 second brain wave answer, the statues in Splatsville. Splatsville has a statue of a pig, a statue of a snake, AND a statue of a chicken and those add up with the names. Not sure why the idols are linked to those, but sure, it checks out I guess!

Splash Session is also a REALLY cute and fitting name for a tutorial song.... it's like splashing in a swimming pool before you actually swim. So literally a tutorial, lol. thanks for the asks!
